Admit it, you got duped by an ad company pushing a cryptoscam and fell for the meme.

Tested it for about 20 minutes months or years ago, concluded it was bloated garbage with an outdated adblocker and useless built-in scripts, opted to remain with Vivaldi. Chromium may be hot garbage, but it just works and I refuse to support the current Mozilla leadership.

Mozilla and Chrome are run by trannies and Edg is determined to feature bloat itself Teams style into irrelevance.
Is it time for me to go back to Brave? I think it might soon be.

There's a reason why it's called brave.
Anyway, enjoy the partyvan ride I guess.
Right-wing sperg gonna get fucked again just because some boomer on a political blog told him to be afraid of "trannies"
>>
>>84472716
the sheer amount of fud about brave is truly amazing. someone might be paying for this smear campaign.

i've used it and it is legit. the browser is good, has sane defaults, has innovative features (that you can choose to use them or not). i hope they have enough funds in the future to balance the chromium development.

never change your spirit, brave. you are in the right direction.

fucking retard. Google maintains full control over the main repositories. Microsoft has tried to get even an ounce of control over Chromium and google will. not. budge. A proper independent "fork" isn't an option because maintaining a browser is fucking expensive and 99% of activity would just be pulling patches downstream
>>
>>84473820
Microsoft's current strategy is actually quite interesting. They've pulled a LOT of ex-googlers in the last few years, it honestly reminds me of Google will Firefox. Google used have a full time team dedicated to contributing to Firefox, then all of a sudden they ramped up hiring efforts and pulled a bunch of firefox engineers, contributions continued for a while until they didn't, then we got chrome. I wonder if Microsoft is going to try to attempt this with Chromium

It'll probably kill them but as long as Gecko is usable I'll keep using Firefox, leadership is retarded and trannies etc etc whatever but they STILL maintain their own engine which is the bravest possible decision right now.

Why does this actually matter compared to all of the bullshit other browsers are doing? It's either this, making money off of data mining or relying on Google for 80% of your revenue. Your choice.

To visit .onion sites on a normal browser. If you want to visit .onion sites as anonymously as you can, then use Tor. You should obviously not be using Brave private browser if you want the privacy that Tor gives you. I would agree that it's unnecessary but I'm not autistic to care about minor bloat.
>>
>>84477111
>If you want to visit .onion sites as anonymously as you can, then use Tor.
I know, my question was rhetorical.
>You should obviously not be using Brave private browser if you want the privacy that Tor gives you.
Idk, I just feel like having it there in the first place and then actually advertising this feature (idk if they do now but used to), which is flawed in the first place (and could actually be dangerous if your data goes through an uncompromised node), just feels disingenuous. But kudos for looking like an actually reasonable person, I'm tired of arguing with people with seem like either like paid shills desperate for shekels or schizoid retards.
>>
>>84477033
chromium isnt foss and a reskin is not a fork
>>
>>84472716
you can turn off the virtual shekels thing but you can't turn off their custom tracking.

Brave, not even once.

>>
>>84475287
I use firefox on desktop because Firefox on Android is the only browser that has an actual adblock and its not fucking chinese botnet like Opera and I can get sync between devices.
>>
>>84472716
What ad company and what crypto scam? Ads aren't even on by default, the ad list is stored locally and even if you do turn them on they aren't borderline or full on malware or spyware. That's the reason why they were crested. To be an alternative to the current ad revenue driven web 2.0 internet.
As far as I can understand, you can sell BAT and that's pretty much it about the crypto aspect. To get an amount which you'd trade you have to be a YouTuber or have a fairly large online following, so as far as crypto goes this is as legitimate as it has gotten as far as I'm aware. Everything is FOSS and has been from the start, so you're to check and confirm everything. Their developers also answer questions regularly on their subreddit. A scam is when everything is FOSS and developers are being as transparent as possible.
