Is the slot a mPCIe or mSATA?
They look exactly the same but cards for one don't work on the other. My A88X board had a mPCIe slot, so I got an m.2 to mPCIe adapter and used a cheapo 512gb nvme card. I can't boot from it, but I can keep / on it. Keep everything snappy and fast.

On topic:
Eyeballing some SATA SSDs for cheap. Trying to stretch how long I can keep using my FM2+ computer.

You dumb motherfucker. I'm trying to make sure OP knows what fucking slot his computer actually has so he doesn't buy a part thinking it will work when it doesn't. The slots look identical, and the bios of many motherboards doesn't make it obvious as to what kind of slot it is.

I hope you outlive anyone and everyone who could possibly ever love you, that way when you die literally not a soul in the world fucking cares.

Enjoy your custom SKU, shit-quality black friday merchadise. That is, if you can even get your hands on the tiny stock of it - while everything else is the usual price.
Let's see - I put in an order to Digikey, does that count?
>>
I already for Blacked. I got an Asus Hyper M.2 PCI-E card and two 1TB SN850's. Debating whether to get two more to fill the other two slots. My read/write speeds are not what I thought they would be, so would like to get that fixed first.
>>
I ended up moving the 3070 into the second 16x slot as first slot is the only one that supports PCI-E bifurcation.
>>
>>84462908

What are you talking about? mPCIe/mSATA is a different form factor with a wider slot and 2 mounting holes, you can't confuse it with M.2 2230.

logitech doesn’t require you to keep their software installed and running to keep certain settings to stick. for example, the orochi v2 doesn’t store lod in its onboard memory so you have to run synapse at boot to set it each time or deal with obnoxious lod. literal cancer.

>>84470004
Country doesn't matter, warranty is between you and the manufacturer. Read the warranty terms. Hard disks sold in enclosures usually have serial numbers that show up as not being individually covered in a warranty status checkers like WD's.
I've heard that some of these disks also lack SATA ports and have USB connectors soldered on directly, so they can't simply be used inside a computer. Guess that's more common with 2.5" externals.

I don't see the ads on the LG CX since the app row is not full screen (just a row at the bottom of the screen). I don't really know where they would put them, probably at the end of the app selection but I honestly don't know as I don't see them.

On the C1 the app selection brings up a full screen menu so I assume they would be more prominent. For me, using an OLED as a PC monitor is out of the question, I do not have the discipline to babysit my monitor nor do I wish to. You are gonna have to invest in that if you want to reduce burn-in, if you are uniformed on this you should investigate a bit about steps to take and precautions.

I bought it for the same price from amazon.nl.
It might not be nearly as fast as the samsung 970 evo I use as a boot drive, but it should be fine for throwing some vidya on. I don't have any M.2 slots left and plugging a 980 evo in some PCIe card isn't worth it as all my free slots are PCIe 2.0.
I shouldn't have been a jew when choosing my motherboard

Yeah but then you'll have to buy a new monitor if you do end up upgrading the GPU. Even if you don't end up using the resolution for games, your every day 4chan shitposting will easily benefit from this. Plus anything except latest AAAs should work just fine at 1440p as well, just play at medium settings or whatever.

The only decent deal ive seen is the Stadia

Now hear me out
For $20 out the door you get
>ChromeCast Ultra
>Stadia Controller
>1 Stadia game like RDR2, RE Village, Cyberpunk, Madden etc etc

So the BF deal is buy any game priced 29.99 or above, get Chromecast and controller free
There is a $10 off coupon, which is confirmed working.
RDR2, RE Village, Cyberpunk and other bigger name games are on "black friday deal" bringing them down from like 60 to 30, at which point you throw the coupon code on.

The chromecast is a chromecast
The stadia controller can be used as a normal HID controller so you can completely ignore the service
You get to play RDR2 or whatever (albeit probably poorly)

Im sure as fuck not going to pay for the monthly service, or buy more games.
But I figure a generic HID controller and a chromecast is worth $20

I've gotten all Easystores and they're easy to shuck. Just go around the edge prying with a flathead screwdriver. No modifications needed to work with my Seasonic PSU, and the USB adapter can be used to attach internal drives through USB. (very nice for backups)

Are you retarded?
>12-18 TB
>WD Blues
You are.

cheap NAS + hard drives
>>
what's the best way to set up nas?
>>
>>84477608
I wouldn't shuck any of WD's smaller drives, because then the WD Blue retard is actually right. The larger drives are "white label" binned Ultrastar rejects. The smaller stuff, not so much. And I do not trust WD's Elements/easyStore enclosure at all for extended use because that shit overheats. If you're stuck using it externally for whatever reason and you're already rolling your own, pick whatever's cheapest and put it in a decent UASP enclosure with a fan:
>Toshiba N300 or even DT01ACAwhatever that old Hitachi design is called, they still sell those shits
>Seagate Ironwolf
>WD Red, Purple
I do know WD have been niggers and let SMR seep into their fucking NAS drives. Seagate and Toshiba still have the decency to leave that crap out of products you wouldn't expect it in, like an Ironwolf/N300, but e.g. a low capacity Barracuda drive is probably SMR now too.

I was just going to sell the cases on eBay after a few months and I'm pretty confident I won't need to return the drives, looks like they go for $15-20.

Had new tires put on my car today. While I was waiting I went into a Best Buy for the first time in at least a decade. Walked around for 15 minutes and then left without buying anything. Got home and ordered a Pixel 5a online.
>>
>>84485737
what hardware have you got?
>>
>>84485737
depends on what you need/want and have already.
>>
>>84478967
maybe because he wants the smaller form factor like his picture
smaller unit = higher density chips, so the higher capacity drives jump in price since they can't just use more cheap chips

>storage drive
Can I bring in an SD card and get the discount, or am I pushing it?

i bought the 14tb easystore from best buy, i could buy more but i've been trying to figure out the best way to get started
>>
>>84485942
again, it depends on what you want. figure that out first before asking such a vague question since "best" is subjective.

Consoomer moment, id get the 10 model if it was OLED, sadly isn't

>NAS is perfectly fine for desktop usage?
No, and why would you when they're priced so much higher? NAS drives are designed specifically to be stuck into a NAS.
>>
>>84486163
NAS drives are fine for desktop use, dumbass.

thanks

How are AMD builds nowdays? Thinking of grabbing an AMD PC. Is it true the CPU/GPU have some special way they work together somehow if both are from AMD and/or does it matter?

Also are they cool for emulation? It's not my main focus, I want to keep playing games at 1440p but I find myself playing old shit all the time too.
>>
Anything worth buying right now?
I figure the prices aren't going to get any better.
I was looking at getting additional storage like another SSD, maybe upgrade my monitor, and upgrade my CPU(Ryzen 2700) to something better. I'd like to get a new GPU, but that's a pipe dream.

had to buy a fucking fridge because the old one broke
>>
>>84486315
They are compatible but you're irresponsible if you advise a newbie to go ahead and put a NAS drive right into his PC tower. He literally said he knows nothing about hard drive terminology, and you're gonna let him go spend twice the money necessary for the storage space? If he doesn't even own a NAS he should not be shopping for NAS drives, plain and simple.

got a keychron k6 and corsair k65 mini for €50 each. gonna use the k6 wireless for media box in living room and not sure what to do with the other.
>>
>>84486389
you still havent given a single fucking argument as to WHY. you're just pulling shit out of your fat retarded ass. literally no reason not to use a NAS drive in your desktop except for price, only difference they have is maybe better vibration resistance and slightly better firmware.

dumbass.

>tfw got a laptop but it deffective
>store didn’t have anymore because they sold their minutes last one literal moments before i tried to exchange it
I hate my life so much.

I am not sure. Its a BIOS setting that takes the PCIx16_1 slot and splits into 4 x4 lanes. Good news is moving the 3070 into the x8 slot didn't impact performance in any appreciable way. Bad news, I am still not getting the read speeds I was hoping for. I haven't had a chance to fuck with it today, but read is around 7k, write around 5k. I expected double that. Specs are in the link, any input would be appreciated. All components are currently installed, and NVME Raid mode is enabled in BIOS.

Looking to purchase my first server to do some basic self hosting (media streaming, file sharing) and for ProxMox/ESXI.
I have no idea what hardware to buy. Should I get some black friday deal, or something off eBay? What are some good models to look at?

>>84475622
Needing equipment for work is basically the same as being grateful for what you already have, you fucking idiot
