So, what's the ideal configs for anime these days? I currently use MPC-HC with SVP and madVR. This setup works beautifully but I wanna leave Wangblows and go to freedom land.

I want that when playing in full screen the filename it's shown when I change the file with Next/Previous.
I've made this with autoprofiles but I'm wondering if it's possible to "resolve" the video title for youtube-dl items in the playlist since it currently prints the code. I have the prefetch title script
[fs-playlist]
profile-desc=Show filename when file changes on fullscreen
profile-cond=fullscreen
osd-playing-msg="Currently playing: ${filename}"

Shouldn't this already be possible? I thought the pinephone was just GNU/Linux but on an ARM device. If it supports hardware decoding, just install mpv and enable it. Should be fine.

Why not?

For some reason, that gpu-context is hardcoded to ignore autoprobing so you have to explicitly select it. Maybe it's nvidia's fault.

I can't get my mpv installation to use yt-dlp instead of youtube-dl, I have this line in the configuration files.

For the first time, I'm having an issue with mpv.
There's an HLS stream that appears to load, only to stay paused indefinitely. Logs don't have anything after VO: [...]. If I enable force-seekable and scroll, I can see new frames, but it just won't play.
However, the same stream on ffplay works flawlessly. It also works in Chromium with the Play HLS extension, so it must be something mpv related.
If you want to try, the stream is at http://hls.shimogo-live.jp/camera3/index.m3u8. All I want is to see trains pass by the comfy Yunokami-Onsen station. Thanks in advance.
>>
>>82654495
Oh hey you're right. Report it on the issue tracker.

>[ffmpeg/demuxer] hls: Could not find codec parameters for stream 1 (Audio: aac ([15][0][0][0] / 0x000F), 0 channels, fltp): unspecified sample rate
seems to have a broken audio track. plays fine with --no-audio
not sure if ffmpeg/ffplay just ignores the stream or if it’s actually silent
>>
>>82654861
It works with vlc too. The audio is supposed to be silent I think.

I've been watching youtube 4k videos with mpv and that's worked really good. Sometimes, just sometimes, I have a problem with mpv taking so much of the bandwith that it impacts my other network usage. This is why I thought to restrict the network usage of mpv with this command in the config file:
ytdl-raw-options=limit-rate=200K

Where
ytdl-raw-options
is mpv flag for passing options to youtube-dl raw. Then
limit-rate 200K
should limit the youtube-dl downloading rate to 200K. 200K is too little, but it is easier to verify.

The problem is that this option works when using youtube-dl by itself, but not when mpv is passing the option. I checked that there are no errors or warnings whatsoever. Why does it not work, and does someone have a suggestion how to restrict mpv network speed?
>>
How can I make a conditional auto profile for videos from a specific folder? Maybe I'm a brainlet but I can't really figure out what I'm supposed to put in the profile-cond to get this to work.

If I upgrade to a 1440p monitor, how taxing on my GPU is it going to be to watch all my old 1080p videos (BD remuxes) on the 1440p display? Since it has to upscale when displaying fullscreen. Also, would 1080p files on a 27" 1440p look worse than on a 27" 1080p monitor, or will the difference be unnoticeable?
>>
>>82654861

>how taxing on my GPU is it going to be to watch all my old 1080p videos (BD remuxes) on the 1440p display?
Probably not much.

>Also, would 1080p files on a 27" 1440p look worse than on a 27" 1080p monitor
It's highly subjective. It would basically depend on if you prefer a 1080p look or a simulated 1440p look (via upscaling). For example, I upscale to 4k which is literally just 1080p * 2. In that case, I can perfectly simulate a 1080p monitor by just using nearest scaling and then compare that to the good/fancier scalers. I personally prefer using the fancy scalers over the "1080p look". That said, the actual quality of the monitor is way, way more important than this and will be the real factor in which monitor will look better.
>>
>>82660062
4K is four times 1080p in pixel count btw
you're multiplying both planes by two

want to watch a movie labelled “half sidebyside 3d” in anaglyph mode. on mpv it opens ups on the wrong ratio with green/purple tint. on vlc it plays right if i apply the anaglyph filter. what do i use on mpv to get it right?
>>
>>82665125
mpv or iina?
>>
>>82665279
i do use iina. i'm now running the movie with this mpv.conf:
vf=lavfi=[stereo3d=in=sbsl:out=arbg]

it makes it red/blue anaglyph, but i'm not sure if it's the right color space since vlc renders it with a lot more white (maybe because it's using cyan instead of blue). what do you think? just missing the aspect ratio now.
