Proton is run by glow-in-the-dark cia niggers but pretty good service if you don't mind that part.

Well that's how to get no privacy because you end up always with the same IP/OS-fingerprinting/…

Private Internet Access is the only real one to me, they don't get your identity and you do pay them (ie. gift cards) so you can more reasonably think that they're not harvesting your data.

Also consider just using Tor if you don't need to eat much bandwidth.
