Should I learn Rust or Zig?Dubs decide.
Rust, it's useful and cool
What is that resolution? Is he using a 6” laptop?????
Rolling for rust
Both toy languages for manchildren who can't write actual software. If you want to be part of the future learn how to use electron.
>>81456643Rust has serious industry backing and adoption. That makes it worth considering imho
>>81456643nim is for kings
>>81456643Rust is more useful at this stage. But consider learning both.
>>81456643You should sit on my dick
>>81456643>retarded name>retarded logo>retarded looking face>pic relatedRust. I would rather be a tranny than a retard
>>81456643I hope the Zig on your eyes Rusts and you C nothing
>>81456779>anyWhat is this? Fucking Typescript?
>>81456696>electronlmao why would he learn that bloated piece of shit. both qt and javafx are better gui frameworks.
>>81456846No, Zig has static typing. It means exactly what it says though, the function takes a variable of any type, sort of like an unconstrained template in C++.
>>81456989Do you code in Zig? How does it compare to Rust, in your view?
first learn to make up your own mind
>>81456696webdevs are not real programmers
>>81456930gtk is tha best
>>81457211Check 'em, OP.Good luck and have fun.
>>81457000Zig is much simpler (in all the right ways).By far its best feature is comptime, it allows executing any function or statement at compile time, this combined with the fact that types are first-class values makes for a great metaprogramming experience. They have a case study on their site on implementing formatted printing.
>>81457382Looks unusual but reasonable.
>>81456711This. Nobody forces you to interact with the cancerous community anyways.
>>81456643Probably flame war, but I can say learn what do you want. There are things hard to implement in Rust because it misses null/nil. You need to use Option, and sometimes you need to write very long code because of this. I've never checked Zig, but it looks like JS and Python had a child. Use whatever you feel like.
>>81456779>I would rather be a tranny than a retardyeah
>>81456643I hate Rust honestly. I hope it dies. Learn C++20
>>81459912based irrelevant language poster
zig or nim
>>81456696Lmfao at the dumbfags who replied to this and didn't get the joke
rustknow your enemy
>>81456696Great bait, I can respect that.
>>81460508>irrelevant language>nim, zigWill they ever get popular?
>>81461977If the creators don't lose interest, I hope so. They all have purposes and unique selling points, even if Ds points is just to build things better than we did in the past
>>81459216it does lead to long code, but in a way i do kinda dig Result\Option>>81456643zig seems cool but it's support is still youngof the list: Rust (just cause there's shit you can do) just have something to do while you wait for a simple program to compile like it's 1993
>>81456643i've used rust. it's mediocre at best.the borrow checker's kinda cool, but when your coding it just feels like worse GC.i understand that some need its speed, i just don't think most people would gain much from it.that being said:COMMON LISP GET!!!!!
>>81456643Learn AssemblyCheck em
>>81456671So useful there are almost 15 people who will pay you to know it!https://www.dice.com/jobs?q=rustThat will show Bjarne!
>>81456643DOUBLE DIGITS FOR TRANNY-LANG, FUCK OP!
>>81456643troon or nog lang? neither.
