I just used some shitty python script for my trip. But eselect is very useful, although imo it could be done much simpler. In the system I'm working on it uses xstow(I will probably change this to stow) in order to handle symlinks in much the same manner, but as the main package format for everything. Really I got most the difficulty down gcc is the only major roadblock for me because the Makefile just wont work.

Have you had any luck in changing the file choose? I tried installing xdg-open (which I believe is what fixed the size issue btw) and adding an association for ranger.desktop but firefox seems to ignore it and use its own thing. Searching it up I see others with similar problems but the fixes they had will no longer work.
