I'm building a 5.1 sound system from scratch because my legendary Z-5500 system is almost dead. This should also sound MUCH better (I hope) and I gain support for DTS MA and TrueHD.

I found a receiver whose impedance is 6~16Ω, I found some Polk speakers and the centers 'normal impedance' is 6ohms, but the front and back are 8ohms.

Will this cause any issues ?

Is it bad if I run my gpu (3070) with a very low constant fan speed during gaming (34%) ?
I don't like fan noise or the noise of fans ramping up and down.
It tops out at 86C (pretty sure thats the top end, havent seen 87C in a week of gaming) which's below the highest configurable temp limit of 90C, plus it still stays above the boost clock which gives adequate performance.
I'm asking if it will shorten the lifespan of the gpu in a meaningful way. I'll keep it for 3-4 years at most. I'm assuming not since gpus today have a lot of failsafes and whatnot that would prevent that and would reduce the clocks before any damage happens.

I'm having trouble starting my pc. Many different issues so I find a lot of possible causes when using google and I don't know anything about computers.

I have an old laptop that I use often but the wifi is very intermittent. I tried updating the drivers (Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter), I also got a new router few days ago (upgraded my internet plan) but it hasn't improved. Did you leave the fan header labeled "CPU" empty? Plug a fan into it. If nothing is plugged into that header/you used a fan without the RPM sense wire it won't detect a fan.

How do I get my torrent seeding speed up? Open source offline moodboard? I just want an app where i can just drag and drop my .png and animated .gif files, while adding text and doodles, that is not web based and part of the botnet.

Alright I know HTML variables are a meme, but are HTML macros a thing? It's a bit of a pain writing documents in HTML and then having to change all the hrefs if I decide to change the file's name.

Is a pre-amp likely to help me pick up this station? I've been able to get a few frames here and there in the past, I've got a "long range" directional antenna that picks up the stations between me and this one.

What exactly is a SIM card and how does it work? If I get one and replace the one in my phone can I just use it normally after or will I have to jump through hoops to make it work?

So I'm planning on buying a new laptop and am a bit of a tech iliterate. I'm a second year chemical engineering student and I think I don't need any software more demanding than matlab and/or simulink. I might use it for some games, but nothing too demanding. I was considering an Acer Aspire, in particular, one with the following characteristics:
-Model: A315-56-594W
-RAM: 8gb DDR4
-256gb SSD
-Intel Core i5/processor speed 1.1GHz
-GPU: Intel Iris plus Graphics G4

How good/bad is this? I'm from a third world country and prices here are a bit steep. I can get the one from above for around 900$. This is the cheapest laptop with these specs am I able to get, everything else is $1k+. I read good things about the Aspire, but I'd figure I ask here to see if anybody knows. Thanks for the help.

How in the world do i print custom photo sizes in windows 10? Can't find anything in google, just brings me to pages telling me how to print one of the couple pre defined sizes.

System refuses to POST after I set the RAM voltage from 1.35v to 1.2v. I thought it'd be as easy as resetting CMOS, but it wasn't. First I tried unplugging the PSU and all non-essential peripherals and taking out the battery. No POST. Then I tried jumping the clear CMOS pins, after it didn't work I tried the same thing but also with removing the battery. Still nothing. Then I tried taking out a stick so it's only one stick in the system. All the while doing the other actions I named before. Also tried out a stick from a complately different RAM kit, which is still the same make and model though. Still didn't work. I've now again unplugged the PSU, removed the battery and placed the jumper on the CMOS pins and I intend to keep it like that over night. I suspect leftover power in the PSUs capacitors still supplied power to CMOS or something like that. I don't know, I'm getting desperate. Any suggestions on something else I should try?

Typically for clearing CMOS I unplug or turn off the PSU, pull the CMOS battery and then push the power button a few times or hold it down for a few seconds to clear any residual charge.

I had the same problem, removing the CMOS battery did the trick. Do NOT alter anything with your RAM until you know you can boot
