Model F is way more irritating to actually restore, though. Less durable plastic shells and the sheer hell of opening up that tight sandwich and cleaning out the decomposed foam and cutting your own is far more annoying than a bolt mod. Hell, screw modding is even easier and a lot of people prefer it since it doesn't change the key feel.

Shinobi is lowkey endgame. I havent felt like I need anythinig else since. Cherry blacks and trackpoint nipple is great. Build quality is good enough, the mouse buttons aren't the best and come off if you bash them enough but If you bash them only. keyprint is rubbing off slowly over the year, I think in a couple years I will replace them with a new set tex release if they do. If they dont then I just dont care enough since it feels nice and nipple!

I miss using my IBM Model M but I had some issue where I'd turn on my computer and I'd get no input from the keyboard until after the GRUB boot menu. They're XDA, so far I really like them. My other keyboard had cherry profile, which was okay but I wanted to try something different. These are nice but I'm making more typing errors than normal, I think it's a combination of the flatter keycaps and very light (37g) switches. It'll take some adjustment for sure. These caps would probably be more comfy on a heavier keyboard where it's harder to mistype in my opinion

Yes I have 70 bsun Holy Pandas with the stock 60g springs and the U4Ts I have are 62g springs.

To me they feel the close enough with just a little pretravel before the bump itself.

Sound wise the HPs are just a little deeper sounding but I spent a bunch of time lubing them with 3204. I left the boba's stock to break them in before lubing and honest they sound and feel great to me.

Price wise if you were thinking of making your own bsun/yok pandas with halo clears, I'd say get the U4Ts instead. None of them have the crunch the glorious pandas have and they're priced pretty fairly.

I have glorious pandas and the silenced u4s on hand, but to me the u4s have a noticeably larger/sharper bump. I like how smooth and wobble free the bobas are but I like the rounder bump of the pandas. Maybe I should just make a franken with the pink boba bases since the weaker leaf would mean a smaller bump.

I will never stop being mad about having to spend extra money and time on it.

Packet lubing both the springs and the stem is such a time saver. It's actually incredibly consistent on the stem too and even gets a nice light coat inside the stem, all I do now is lube the bottom housing a little and put it together.

Dielectric grease became a dielectric oil (somehow). Is that an issue? I mean it certainly works, even if the feeling is a little bit soft and cushy (not mushy or anything, just different) compared to the previous result, but still.

How exactly would you lube kailh box switches? Lube the stem and the spring? Was thinking of trying out some box whites.

I think there are a lot of good things about them, but I'm not into 40%s and smaller. I like the rows lining up, and shrinking the bigger keys. A normal keyboard's spacebar just seems stupid now. You could fit so many keys in the same spot. At the least a split spacebar should be more common so you can put backspace on one side.
