I will never thank enough the anon that recommended me the magaosi K5. Also known as nicehck HC5, yinyoo H5 and shozy Neo BG.That thing sounds pretty good regardless of the price and has perfect ergonomics.Warm neutral tuning with great details and accurate mids. It does need a very low Impedance source and cable to not sound sharp.I think to find the right tips should help as well but the included one are pretty good. The cons though: no bass slam, very sensitive, mmcx connection aren’t the best quality.
Are the KZ ZS10 Pro still recommended?
>>79660672>Neo BGMan those look sexy ngl. I always liked the way shozy build their iems
>>79660851Yeah well you can have the same iem for a 1/3 of the price but the look of yinyoo/nicehck is quite cringe.
>>79660842They're quite good for 50$, why not
>>79659960Since he said warm, the ER4XR might be a better fit. Though I'd say go for something like the Moonderp B2 or Thieaudio L5.
>>79660672considering cringeacle gave it one star as shozy bg which is severely overpriced at $280, I wonder how many he would've given a regular priced model. My yinyoo h5 cost me $110

Things like sansa clip are just cheap yet they deserve to be in HoF for some reason. And plenue D? At least 3 people here own N6II and like it, does anyone own plenue D? I haven't meet anyone.

>budget$300 (but flexible)>sourcedesktop pc>sound signatureU shape. More bass than treble, low mids. See also: pic related>past gearI have what I believe to be a godly setup. I have tried shure SE215 and ATH-M50, and they were both shit. What I use instead are skullcandy ink'd 2 earbuds with an equalizer. I know it seems kind of stupid, but trust me on this one. You can try this setup for yourself. Buy a pair for $22, download equalizerAPO and peace, and then set your eq like pic related. The only downside is that you have to raise your system volume all the way to 30 or 40.The ink'd 2's are getting harder to come by, and I'm afraid they'll get discontinued any one of these days. So I need to find an adequate replacement. I need something with amazing isolation, perfect bass response (with a range of 25 - 100 Hz), and good response for frequencies above that. Active noise cancellation is a dealbreaker.

Whats the cheapest I can get a single pair of xelastecs for in the UK?And how long do they last on average?
>>79675727I haven't tried the Spiral dots, but they're even more comfortable than Spinfit CP100/CP145, much more comforable than the clear Final E tips and the Azla Sedna Earfit Light tips. They're also verry grippy and slightly sticky which can be very useful. The biggest drawback they have is because they are made of a thermoplasic material they will keep the shape of your ear after you pull them out when you have worn them for long enough, this can lead to them folding in on themselves. When this happens you need to flip the flange inside out and put them in a bowl with warm water for a while so them can assume a more normal shape again. If you can live with the price and this one drawback they are worth it.
>>79676442Afaik they aren't sold as singular pairs, but Linsoul sells 2 for 19$ with free worldwide shipping. They should last longer than foam tips, but probably won't last as long as well build silicone tips?
>>79676482Sounds enticing, thanks. From my experience wide bore tips always sound better no matter the iem, so gotta give them a try.
>>79676542foams usually last me 1-2 months, how much longer would xelastecs last?
Behold, we're the triumvirate of blandness.
>>79676562I honestly have no idea, I have only heard of one person in this thread who broke a pair while trying to fix a fold in hot water. But because they haven't been out for all that long, less than a year I believe, and because they're a niche premium product there isn't much info on the lifespan of them yet from what I can find.
>>79676631Do note that quite a few people here have ordered them right after they came out and have been using them since. So I suspect a pair could probably last at least 9-12 months if you take good care of them, maybe longer.

>>79677182Too bad the hiby r3 pro only supports tidal or it would be the default streaming dap since its not on bloated android
>>79672746FR only defines the linear response. The human ear is a poor detector of nonlinearity relative to our ability to construct "good" IEMs.Frequency response is a complete descriptor of a linear system and is equivalent to the impulse response. The frequency response has two parts: phase response and magnitude response. The latter is also known as sensitivity and not fully reported. There is not much opportunity for an IEM to sound different if you really could match the FR.Single drivers are mostly minimum phase and minimum phase response is uniquely tied to the variations of sensitivity. A possible starting point is to look into allpass phase variations, but these tend to be dominated by uncontrolled sensitivity variations.
A while ago an anon recommended me the etymotic ER2XR which I bought, and really like. But the small tips got like a kink or fold in the outermost seal, which means they a) have a hard time sealing and b) hurt cause there's now a pointy bit stabbing me. Anyone else have experience with that?

>>79678602And possibly one of the spinfits, think it’s c145.
>>79678629Thanks anon. Which do u think is the best? objectively
>>79678602Spinfits CP100 or Spiral Dots or Final E. Whichever fits your budget. For starters, I'd recommend spinfits.
>>79678602What >>79678629, >>79678645 said. For Spinfits you can use CP100 or CP145, they use more comfortable silicone material than the Earfits, slightly more comfy material than inverted Starlines and their rotation thing actually improves the comfort just a bit further. The drawbacks of Spinfits are their sizing scheme is pretty weird so they may not have the right size for you, their shape isn't as good as on the Earfits, and they often fuck up the sound of IEMs so while this isn't the case with Blons you won't be using them with other IEMs.Inverted Starlines are cheap and very good for the price, the drawbacks are there's only 3 sizes Starlines available and inverting them increases their width so they may not fit you and inverting them increases their bore size so they may fall off the Blon stems unless you're putting an o-ring over them to keep them in place.Azla Sedna Earfit Lights have an amazing sizing scheme, comfortable shape and their sound works very well with a lot of IEMs, though their material is quite stiff and can be uncomfortable despite the great sizing scheme and shape.>>79679327Final E is also good

The graph looks pretty nice even undampened, it does look like it has pretty bad treble dip and not very great extension. Though from what I understand you can use a resonator (tubing structure like used in MASM3) or resistor/capacitors (like in the ER4B/S/P) to increase the treble.Put it in one of these shells with some triple flange tips and a simple mmcx cable for a nice full package. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000194097983.html

Final update on the KZ ZSN mod, those dampers are absolutely tiny and very flimsy. I broke one of them and then came to the conclusion that my hands aren't steady enough for this and that the tube that was supposed to go over the damper+nozzle wasn't going to fit even if I got the damper on. I'm going to harvest the drivers in these ZSN's for future projects, I wouldn't recommend trying this mod unless you have incredibly steady hands, a lot of patience and buy multiple pairs (2-4) of damper filters in case you break them.

Hello, I was redirected from a thread I made about this form factor. Basically I've been buying these for almost a decade. Once I found them I couldn't go back or towards anything else, I love how things sound(ed) on it. A few years ago I saw they stopped making them, so I bought all the units they had, but today my second-to-last pair broke, and when I opened the last one it was defective, and I don't know what to do. All I can find are offers for x4 the price that will take a month to get here.>BudgetIrrelevant if I can find something similar for keeps>Source (phone or PMPs)Phone and PC>LocationGermany>Kind (in-ears or earbuds)Pic-related>Sound Signature (or genres you like, important!)Good question, but I don't have the knowledge to describe them. In comparison to even much higher range Sony, Panasonic, and Philips headphones I had before, these had much clearer sound and there were notes and sounds I couldn't hear before, so I guess that counts as clarity. I listen to a lot of genres, so not sure how that would help>Past gear and your thoughts on them (important!)Considering how long I've been using them, I assume mentioning older stuff I used to use wouldn't be of help. I can't use diadem-like headphones, make my head hurt, and anything "more" in-ear than pic related is extremely bothersome.Any advice please? Right now looking through 100+ pages in amazon, everything with a similar form factor is cheap (below 20€).

any cheapo iem with good/great isolation? not that concerned about sound as long as its not bad
>>79691605What would you define as cheapo? I'd pick something unvented like an all BA IEM in the very least, but Etymotics or Ety clones would have the highest isolation. It's also dependent on the tips you use, which will be limited to Anjirui foam tips or any triple flange tips. Here's some options: KBEar F1 ~$20, Taobao ER4P Clones ~$60, FiiO FA1 ~$90, >>79660672, maybe Shure SE215 ~$70 if you want a bit more bass.
>>79691687Oh and obviously the ER2XR
>>79691582Thanks. I haven't thrown any away, precisely because the only issue (and it's always the same) is that one of the sides dies due to a cable malfunction near the jack, probably due to stress. Is re-shelling relatively difficult? I will order both earbuds.

>>79692406While I think that the S8 probably fits your sound preference the best, since you want something with soundstage and I heard that the S8 doesn't have great soundstage it's probably not worth it.Dunu SA6 isn't exactly Harman, but probably pretty close and they seem like they're a good deal for the price.L4 seems like it has a good tuning, but since I have herd people say the L3 doesn't have the greatest resolution I doubt one extra BA is going to fix that in the L4.Audiosense DT100, I don't really trust the brand as their products have mixed reviews with completely different reactions. Why not consider the B2: Dusk? I mean even if they're knockoffs cheaper than bellsings you can't argue with 4 CI-22955's and 2 ED-29689's for less than $30.I was thinking of putting the CI's in series and put dual or triple yellow dampers on them by either stretching the tube over both nozzles or buying one of those adaptors to put two tubes together. Then putting a resistor in series with the ED and putting a single red damper on that. Finally have the ED and dual CI in parallel with eachother. I'm hoping that would give me somethin close to a bass boosted ER4.

How does Etymotic manage to make a single BA sound so good? Is multi-BA really just a gimmick?>>79706952Doesn't seem like much of a barrier, surely you can have someone do it for you or do it yourself.
>>79706901>Ety endorses normie musicI'll stick to Final audio and Sony
>>79707056Multi BA can be a gimmick, all BA's are full range drivers so using one as a woofer or tweeter often doesn't make sense unless it's to achieve a certain tuning. There are exceptions like the Sonion 38D1XJ as a subwoofer BA, but even that one still has a frequency range that goes up to ~6K. The only way that a well tuned multi BA can outperform a well tuned single BA is if they're using multiple drivers for the same frequency range to decrease distortion. This does also have some problems though like wiring them in series decreases distortion more but also increases resistance more making them harder to drive. While doing 4 drivers as 2 in series parallel to another 2 in series is optimal, it also takes a lot of space to have 4 drivers for one frequency range.
>>79707367Oh and then there's the problem of electronic componens for a passive crossover introducing distortion in multi BA setups. Most electronic components used in IEMs are chosen for their size not their quality, this means that when using a multi-BA setup with a crossover that uses subpar components the distortion may actually be higher than a single BA setup that uses no electronics or decent electronic components. For instance you could make an Ety ER4 clone with any cheap resistor or you could use a Susumu RS audio resistor, same with capacitors you could use any ceramic capacitor or you could try to fit in an ELNA Silmic/AVX OxiCap.
