>Requests are worthless on most trackers. Nobody's going to bother if it requires purchase of the physical medium unless the reward is insane.

Bullshit. I've bought stuff specifically to rip it for a request. The bounty was low. If I need uploads for a user class upgrade I might as well do it uploading content that at least one person wants. Not everyone is a poor pajeet uploading from deezer.

What are they gonna do, ban Anonymous? Also, take a look at /r/trackers, its a subreddit for trackers that has actual tracker staff on it, so why would talking about it here be different than talking about it there?
>>
>>79656815
/r/trackers is TPS-lite. On the other hand, this general is something the stereotypical mod would be seethe over.

I'd wager that bringing up /ptg/ on any cabal IRC chan would likely result in a ban.
>>
>>79656856
I can't talk about every tracker IRC but I've seen people bring up /ptg/ on some IRC's before, /ptg/ used to be a shitfest with people giving out invites and shit but nowadays /ptg/ doesn't do anything like that so I don't see why simply bringing it up now would be a problem, but tracker staffers have been autistic before so maybe they still hate /ptg/ for some retarded reason.

Piracy should be made harder and exclusive for the sake of retention and security. Private trackers are a step in the right direction. Nothing ever survives on public trackers.
>>
>>79657308
Keep in mind that the copyright trolls currently go after the public tracker niggers so private trackers stay (mostly) under the radar, getting rid of them would mean that private trackers would become more popular.
>>
>>79657394
You have to be naive if you think they're not investigating internal groups like ntb and the like.

If I know of a local tv broadcaster that has archives of its videos on a website, can I simply do the needful and youtube-dl the videos and upload them to btn. is that all this rippings involves?

Let's ask here too.
Should I give up on using a VPN on private trackers? How much paranoia should I have as a regular user on most, and occasional uploader on a few trackers?
Why I use VPN now: I'm afraid of my home IP being visible in peerlists. I also use it to browse most tracker sites which allow it, or at least don't forbid it explicitly. I also try to use VPN for signup whenever possible, so that the sites don't have my real IP at all (in case there's some database leak or etc).
Why I'm considering getting rid of it: no matter which server I use, I'm struggling to reach download speeds higher than 35 MB/s (on great swarms) and upload speeds higher than 3 MB/s (to a single peer, even when I'm doing initial seed on my own uploads). Moreover, I've had a few occurrences of peers just being unable to connect to me, and I'm concerned it somehow might have been caused by the VPN usage. (yes, I do have ports forwarded, and usually incoming connections are possible, but some peers just can't connect).
>>
>>79664769
I wish they focus more on ptp content than HDB. The latter mostly consists of relatively popular content that is quite well seeded, but there are many of obscure things that are barely seeded on PTP...

>>
>>79663345
yes I meant beyond power user Do what does VIP and Super VIP get you? Special forum?
>>
>>79665632
How do the laws in your country work? I would just use my home IP for the cabal trackers that are actually hard to join if it's unlikely to get fucked by your country somehow. It doesn't matter if your IP is in the peerlist because nobody cares about it, and it someone does what can they do? If you care so much about all of this stuff your network should also be secure (aka no random open ports, using some firewall and fail2ban or whatever, you get it) or you're doing it wrong, there will be more chinese botnets randomly portscanning your network than there will be users doing that because they saw you on their peerlist.

Why is mam so disorganized?
example:
>search for a popular book series
>multiple torrents for each book in different formats
>one torrent for book 1 as .epub, one torrent for book 1 as .pdf etc
>some individual book torrents have multiple formats in one
>none of it consistent
>book 2 can have .pdf + .epub in same torrent
>book 3 can .epub + .mobi
>some individual books are missing
>book 3 is missing
>they exist in bundled pack torrents
>torrent contains book 1-7
>sweet I'll just grab all these packs
>next torrent contains 8-14 but missing book 11
>book 11 exists as an individual torrent
>okay...
>but wait there are complete packs
>...but also missing books
>the missing books don't exist as individual torrents

Not him but IPT's filled with:
AFG, MeGusta, mSD, MP4-Mobile and other curry-tier low-quality noname captures.

IPT is okayish if you only watch recent mainstream scene shows but totally falls short otherwise. But BTN, Usenet, etc are vastly superior.
>>

Every time you turn your computer on you get a new public IP address? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. What about when you restart your phone or your Nintendo Switch while they’re connected to WiFi lol.

I’ve had the same public IP since I bought my house 5 years ago.

Take notes again (in your own words, of course) and learn, not much more I can tell you. Make sure you format the notes so you can easily look specific shit up, and make sure the notes don't just include shit you didn't know in the past interviews but EVERYTHING ON THE INTERVIEW SITE (so not only the specific audio formats you forgot but ALL audio formats in a table of lossy and lossless formats, and include other information that can be found on RED's interview site that belongs to the audio formats in that table, if any), if you still manage to fail after that you might simply be a literal retard, and the interview isn't made for literal retards.

I recommend doing it, if you want to support for example i2p or if you are afraid of legal prosecution, otherwise a VPN and public/private trackers get everything done more quickly.
