The RX580 gets sold second hand pretty cheap as well. I see 2 around here selling for 100-115 USD.

It's not a gigantic difference, but you're paying peanuts ontop an already cheap card for a 20-25% performance increase. I feel like the 480 I have at 1080p is slowly teetering on the edge of being an awkward experience.

I bought a rx 580 4GB for $140 2 years ago. I wanted a new upgrade but GPU value has been so shit ever since turing. I waited for ampere and rdna2 but there is nothing in the mid range and even then they still cost alot. Seeing all these scalper niggers eating up all these new ampere and rdna2 cards and consoles with no mid range options being mentioned made me frustrated so i bit the bullet and bought a sapphire pulse 5700xt for $360. I have another week to return it. I have a feeling there wont be any more wortwhile cards in stock at all in the near future so ill be stuck with this 5700xt until this whole paper launch scalping shit blows over in a year. The 3060ti looks interesting but i know that shit will be instascalped and stock will be non existent and its only 8GB when 10-12GB is more futureproof and appropriate these days for mid range cards.

>>
>>78822595
That's highly dependent on what kind of budget you're thinking of. There's boatload of cards that can do 1080p to a reasonable degree so you can pretty much choose your performance level depending on how money you have to spend on it.
>>
>>78822595
it is unfortunate that you werent shopping a month ago. You could've had your pick of RX 580's for around $150 and GTX 1660 Super's for less than $220.
Now the RX 580's are $220 and the GTX 1660 Super is closer to $300
>>

Because the only 2 GPU manufacturers both released their cards in the last 2 months and they've been damn near impossible to buy at MSRP so those same frustrated customers are now being SCALPED by opportunistic shitbags selling their 6 year old GPUs for $100 more than market value.

I have an RX570 I have to make sure I underclock or it melts. Not because it's an RX570 but because it's a terrible model. I could play RDR2 on high settings at 2560x1080 with this shit with minor drops from 30fps. It's not optimal, but it does the fucking job.

I wanted to upgrade but there's just nothing for me. An RX580 is still more expensive than what I spent for this 2 years ago and the difference is probably minimal. Anything that's substantial is usually 3 times the price I paid for this. If things don't change I'll just grab another, but preferably a model that doesn't make the entire room noisy.

did you find it to be loud? i bought one and uninstalled it after a few days. accellero III was much better
>>
>>78840275
Same, I don't understand it. For 95% of games @ 1080p an rx580 does the job well.
Is it really worth spending $300-$400 more for some extra pixels? If gaming is the only
interest you have in life, I guess it's worth it.

I bought a Biostar RX580 4gb off ebay for $85.

I bought my RX580 8GB new for $180+ tax 2ish years ago. Looking back right now, is was a great deal. I can play most of my games at 1440p high/ultra 50-60fps. I miss value cards. The 1660 was NOT a value card. Neither was the GTX 670 I had before my RX580.

6000 series and 3000 series cards are just cash grabs.

They need to release good sub $200 cards for the normal gamers.
>>
>>78840425
No, that was a steal. But hope it wasnt a miner card. You may want to at least replace the thermal paste. They were known to go bad (crusty).

Patrician choice. Unfortunately I had to sold mine three years ago, was in a completely shit situation. Still, I’m sure overclocked it plays any modern game just fine.

It's enough for the games I play, anyway. Although I'm starting to notice CPU bottlenecks. Running it at 4.7GHz ever since buying it a couple days after launch. Doesn't seem to have degraded yet, but I kept the voltage sane, and always kept it well cooled.

I have an Asus 660Ti somewhere in storage, wonder how well it'll run Cyberpunk with a CPU of that era.

I bought a 3070. I might sell it after finishing Cyberpunk, RDRII & Far Cry 6, then buy again when new cards are released. On board video is fine for browsing & VLC.

same boat as you but sold 1070 in sli and now using a wimpy r9 380 lmao

what if i don't really care about graphics and i'd like to just be able to play the games at 60fps, i have a 768p monitor and am willing to play minimum graphics, i can't even do that with my current graphics card with latest gen games
i want a graphics card that can just about keep pushing out 60fps for the far future
>>
>>78843886
for reference i have an r7 240, and it gets beaten by the latest intel laptop HD integrated so i think this thing is pretty ancient

Yeah, at 15-30fps. RDR2 at 1080p is already under 60fps on low settings. Just because you didn't play it doesn't mean it hasn't obsoleted your card into "console-experience" territory. If it works for what you want to play that's fine, enjoy it but don't claim it runs everything at 1440p ultra at playable fps.
>>
>>78846021
>>78820110
Damn I can't read, you said 1080ti. Yeah that's a beast. Pretty sure even cyberpunk will be running at 1440p60. Recommended specs for 1440 high is a 5700xt or a 2080. A 1080ti is pretty much the same performance.

It runs around 60fps at lowest settings at 1080p.

Checked out some of those benchmark videos and reviews today. A stock 2500k is basically equivalent to a 2200g and an overclocked 2500k to over 4.5ghz, is equivalent and sometimes slightly better than a 3200g it does have more stutter in some games though. I'm not upgrading mine before DDR5 gets affordable.
