Why don't you have a 4790k?
Because I like my chips secure.
because i have a 9900k
because I have an r5 1600
Because I shitcanned it along with it's dying motherboard and went AMD.
>>76576426Because I have 3300xImagine paying 200 bucks on second-hand obsolete piece of shit
I'm not poor.
>>76576426I gave it to a friend when I switched to a 1700X.Its a great cpu, but wanted better socket support. I'll to upgrade to a 3700X later this year or so.If I hadn't switched to amd, I'd probably still be using it.
>>76576551Imagine having 4 cores in current year
>>76576652This. Two cores is obviously more than enough in current year.
>>76576426I do, it was the best hardware investment I've made. Still going strong after 5 years.
>>76576426Because I have a 3770k
>>76576426Because I have i5-4690k and it's enough
Because I have the devil's canyon i5 and not the i7:'(
>>76576426because It's not 2014 anymore anon
>>76576980Same with 4670KI haven't even had a need to OC it
>>76576426I upgraded to a 9900k. Gave the 4790k system to my cousin.
>>76576426Because I still have my 2600k
>>76576551No one bought these used, if anything anons itt have used them for 8 or more years and bought them when they were new. My processor is turning 9 years old this year and it still has the same coolermaster fan on it, never been dusted or cleaned since I got it in 2011
>>76576980t-that's a-a n-n-nice cpu, b-bro
Because I’m not an idiot and I have ryzen
>>76576426because I have 4440
had a 4670K, hardware virtualisation became a necessity, so i gave it to my lil bro. got a Ryzen.
>>76576426Had a 4770k till about a month ago when I got a 3900x.
>>76576426Because I've changed my 4690K for 5775C 2 years ago (found a nice deal with accepted offers on some used parts ebay page). But honestly 4690K would be still enough for me. I was probably just indoctrinated by corelet memes on /g/.
>>76576426because I have an e3 1270 v3 :^)
>>76576426Sold my old system with one to a friend and got a 3900x. It was good, but not good enough for what I'm getting into.
4460 is absolut
>>76576426Because it's the fastest LGA1150 chip, which means that the prices suck. My 4690 will last a few more years. It's not great, but it's good enough for me. I'm not investing any more money in this old platform.
>>76576426I have one.Hodling for Zen3. Then it's good riddance.
>>76576652imagine paying $200 more for negligible gain. cope more
>>76576426Because I upgraded from a 4690k to a Ryzen 7 3700X.
>>76578101wow you must be having fun playing CPU-Z online with your bros
>>76576426because i have a 2500k
>>76576426because upgrading to a 3600 from my 4690k was nearly the same cost as buying a used i7.
>>76577821if u gayme or multitask its not enough. my 4690k could run rainbow six as long as I closed everything else out... now on my 3600 I can leave 40 tabs of chrome open, photoshop, vlc, vegas, audacity, all of them. and I still get good framerates in newer games like r6 and VR
>>76577106>people bought the 4790K eight or more years agoBased time traveller anon.
>>76578164Yep, way more fun than "Install Mitigations For This Week's Hardware Vulnerability CMXLIV".
I have one.No VT-d.I fucking hate it and want the 4790.
>>76577004And that's sad...I do have a 4790k though
>>76576426I have a 3600
Because I have a 4460...
>>76579112this is why you dont buy intel
>>76578811>implying haslel gets mitigation patches
>>76576426because i have an 8600k
>>76576426i have a 7700k
>>76578691>if u gayme or multitask its not enough60Hz monitor, dude. It was more than enough really, considering that it was OCed and was paired with 16Gb of 2400/11 RAM. I'm not into 40 tabs, but I doubt that they're eating a lot of CPU time. Probably more of a RAM type of a load.A bit of a boost in Unreal Engine is fine tho, but I not doing project imports/shader recompilation too often to be honest.
>>76579711I mean you can tell me how my computer was running, but I promise you I couldn't multitask for shit with my i5 at 4.3 with 16gb of 1333 while playing new vidya at 1080p 60hz. And beyond that literally for VR and pavlov the difference between my 3600 and 4690k was being able to turn the video settings all the way up and still leave programs open. Im not denying that for most games its enough, because until the past couple years it handled everything I threw at it. But new games 100% make good use of threadcount, because ive gone from maxing out all four cores while gaming, to barely cracking 60% cpu usage.
>>76576426beacuse i have an i-4810MQ
>>76579565it does, actuallyhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4494454/kb4494454-intel-microcode-updates
>>76576426Because 4700X soon.
Because I have an i7 2600
wtf why are these chips selling for 200 bucks on ebay?
>>76576426But I do
>>76580881Because Intel stagnated and something from 6 (more like 1) generations back still competes.
I have a 4770, does OC make a big difference?
I have an i5 4690K, so why should I bother with 4790k
>>76581427If it makes sense to blow money and time for meager gains, then it's a hobby. If you care about if there are gains, you're poor. That's all it is.
>>765815222 wasted hours for 15% improvement?? Just buy moar cores instead!
>>76576426Because I have a 3700x
>>76581873this, zen is the future
>>76576426im still on an i5 4690k, definitely showing its age at times now but not terrible
>>76576426Because I had a 2700k, was pretty much capable of 1080p60 in every game for several years down the line
>>76576426Because I got a 4670k and it works for me
>>76576426because i have 3770k
>>76576426because mine is HEDT platform
Because I already get 5thz on my Samsung fridge.
Because I'm not poor
>>76576426I have one. It's been a great cpu but starting to show its age in some situations. Also it runs really fucking hot but maybe that's just mine. The crazy thing is how much these still fetch on the used market, they change hands for more than R5 3600s cost new.
>>76580881its the best mass produced ddr3 chip you can buy
>>76576426Because you haven't sent me one yet.
>>76580881Intel CPUs never lose their value.
>>76580881Because on many boards it's pretty much the end of the line as far as the upgrade path goes. Afterall it's cheaper to buy a $200 replacement part than to get an entire new platform.
>>76576426I replaced it for a 3700x
>>76578746You know what I mean and these processors are incredible but they still hold up fairly well today paired with a very good GPU
>>76576426But I do senpai-kun, just waiting for the ryzen 4000 CPUs and ddr5 memory before moving on
>>76576503my i7 3770 is faster
I never had much luck overclocking this thing. Out of the box turbo will take it to 4.7 GHz, but manually I've only been able to get stable 4.6 GHz.
>>76578811>thinking Spectre matters at all for home computers behind a NATloooool just disable that shit
the S variants of haswell i7s were pretty greatbarely any reduction in clock speed but a much lower tdp and better power drawquite nice for SFF builds
Because I have a 4460
>>76576426Because I don't need that.
because I have a 10600k that would ruin it in any bench
4670K @ 4.4 ghz with a 1080 Ti no plans to upgrade, PCs will probably be fully dead by the time I want something more powerful
because im using basedlake
>>76576426cause mom found the piss drawer and took my computer away.
>>76580881Because they are fairly good CPUs still. $200 is still way too much 100-150 is more reasonable. The performance jump from 2014 to now isn't that great. These CPUs can still handle 80-100 fps+ on triple a games when paired with a rtx card or a 1080
>>76576426because 250USD used, that's whyThe used market is mental and these things shouldn't cross 75usd max.
>>76588024They really should be cheaper considering that you have to basically using outdated motherboard use the chip. My guess is that it's illiterate boomers parting out these computers. Either that or it's people trying to upgrade by building a new computer and they need money.
>>76576426it just werks
>>76585949Kek the 2500k sandy vagina schizo appeared
>>76576426Because I'm not here to justify your bad decisions
