Okay boys, I got some DT 770s some time ago, and use them for gaming and some music. Only thing that I've realized is, the quality of video game sounds isn't even that notable in comparison to a random pair of headphones that I owned previously that WERE wireless ones. I honestly couldn't tell much difference at all. Can someone tell me if I just have pleb HEARING or is it because sound quality cannot be determined that well in video games?

I will be getting pair of HD600s from a friend in few days. I will be using Burson Soloist SL mk2 heapdhone amp for them (also borrowed from my brother)The question is: I have this DAC. I'm not very tech-savy: is there something wrong with this DAC perhaps? I will be using the headphones mostly for some mixing, but plan to listen some records too in "analytical" sense just to get some neutral perspective on my own mixes of my favorite records.

What’s wrong with Bowers and Wilkins or B&O
>>71391883>Do you have any recommendations for amps for when I decide to pick one up?I would probably get a used one. The good thing with HiFI equipment is that once they are used they get -50% off from price... So you could get $600 dollar amplifier for $300.. usually they are not that much used and I would be worried about the condition of your headphones rather than the amplifier.I mean you could waste $2000 for amp but I don't see the point with HD600... Burson Soloist SL (not the mk) has been given good reviews on pairing with the HD600 and HD650s. Used units can be around $300-350I think the main concern would be so that you reach that 300 Ohm impendance so they get enough juice to hit all those freqs. There are lots of DAC/Amplifiers built in together too so maybe some used unit like that one would work too..

Here’s a strange one;https://youtu.be/5BWOHlEyHcsGo to 10:40 and listen very carefully.Usually the most important parts of piano pieces (aside from the composition itself) is the way it’s played. The emotion that a pianist gives to a peice is all physical and that’s translated through various degrees of loudness. This is all a function of a pianist’s control over their playing. I bought these headphones specifically to listen to that.

>>71384522OriGen (and OriGen G2) were found to have higher THD than specced for when analyzed by an independent analysis group. Plus it still has issues w/ drivers in Windows. Modi 3 + JDS Atom (Or Liquid Spark if you want nicer build quality for very very slightly different sound) is much closer to reasonably priced "endgame" because it's rare to have any issue with these two (despite what people say about Schiit, the Modi 3 is solid) and either of those amps can power damn near anything. Also some people want open back headphones, to which the HD58X or HD6XX would be good (or an AKG offering depending on preference). And what advantage does the MDR-CD900ST have over something like the MDR-V6 / MDR-7506? The latter are both about $100 cheaper.
>>71391445just buy a JDS Labs Atom and be done with amps forever (or a monoprice Liquid Spark if you want it faster, a metal construction and measures slightly worse but is sturdy and still sounds fantastic)Both of these are $100 as well and have more than enough oomph to power the HD6XX. I just noticed another anon who mentioned the Atom & Liquid Spark and for good reason, they are both just too fuckin good for $100. And your DAC is fine.

I currently have a h6xx paired with a fiio e12 i got second hand. The amp is specced to produce 880mw @ 32ohms. Is this enough for the headphones?
>>71407600more than enough to drive them bud>>71401015very cool, though I personally really like the regular mountI've also got the kph30is, and sometimes I feel like they clamp too much, I wonder if the portapro band is better
anyone tried this cheap dac shit? is it any good?i just want something to connect my ps4 and speakers, that doesnt break in 1 month
Thoughts on Penon BS1 Official?Im looking for iem alternatives for laying down on my bed.
>>71408342ah shit, wrong general
for $230, really tempting
>>71408572Thats very cheap. Honestly I would buy it just to try out a tube amp.
>>71408572Do it anon
Upon your head, anon?
>>71408572The little dot ii isn't really a tube amp, all it does is power the heater rails. It doesn't actually pass a signal through the tube. Fucking retarded, I know.
>>71408614>>71408667>>71408773Did some research, seems like the R70X isnt much of an upgrade to my HD58X at all, especially the soundstage part.Yes this is a really awesome deal but Im afraid that I'll be stuck in mid-fi hell if I buy these, I'd rather save up for an Elex or Andromeda, than spend $200 for a side-grade.Thanks anons, this lot will probably be sold pretty quickly.
>>71408977Fucken chinks. They do that a lot with the cheaper amps.
>>71384557Where ath es10 will be fitted there?
What
microphone
should I get? I only need it for video games and talking to Japanese people.
>>71409590Its discontinued but if it was still a thing then between the fostex and the beyers.
>>71409608a $5 standalone one will do, gamers dont really care about voice quality anyway as long as its recognizable
Are there any sound quality difference between using pic related in wired config compared to using it wirelessly?
>>71410265Yes. You should always use bluetooth headphones with bluetooth because these pieces of shit make heavy use of DSP to compensate for the shitty drivers and total lack of tuning. Ideally ditch bluetooth headphones and buy wired pair with a removable cable and plug a bluetooth adapter in it.
>>71410475What the fuck is that nasty cup shape hahaha are you fucking stupid
Cans for this feel?
>>71411030vintage stax or denon
>>71410445>discount chinkfiman instead of staxpress f to pay respects
I'm amazed by the sound of my cans. Impressive
>>71384557Why not DT1770?
>>71412440Don't reply to me ever again, frogshitter
Yo where's the dude who was sleeping on the T8000+cans for like $6k canadarubles? Did you decide a hard no?
R8 my cans
>>71412712So much money spent, and then the wallpaper background of a 14 year old.
>>714127120/10 no Stax
>>71412746Fair>>71412748Also fair, but even if I sold *all* this I wouldn't afford SR009 with a proper amp, which are imo the only Stax worth getting
>>7141271210/10 work on the DAC/amp section
>>71412787ADI-2 is so fucking good. Literally no desire to upgrade, there's nowhere to go but down.Maybe a select few planars might need more power but I don't care for those
>>71412803Are the back outputs fixed or does the knob controls them?
>>71412835Knobs control them, toggled between by clicking down the knob.It also saves your volume, EQ settings, other DSP options separately for the phones, IEM and XLR/RCA out. It's seriously so convenient I can't imagine using anything else.
>>71412884Check the okto research DAC8 with dsp
>>71412712>not a single pair of stax
oh jesus christ I thinik I just ruined my cans, I got some jizz on them and it ran down the side in through the grill and I think it's gone over the electrostatic "Mesh" inside, i'm scared to powerr them up nowDo I just wait for it to dry and hope for the best?
>>71412712>TKL>Blue micRest is good.
>>71413455Its over. not joking. The micron film can get fucked with only dust. If anything got through the dust cover the stators can be fucked and the film can be turbo fucked. if anything gets on the film its absolutely unsalvageble. Let the jizz dry and pray to fucking god.
>>71413455you'd better vacuum the jizz off.
>>71413512NO NO DONT YOU'LL TEAR THE DIAPHRAGM

I just got my Hifiman Sundara headphones, and I'm pretty happy with them.I thought I was going to get zero bass, but there's a lot of it, and it can be improved with a bass boost.

I have only worn on-ear headphones since seeing that picture of a spider in over-the-ear headphones.
>>71416681Okay thanks, do you think they will move too much if i use them for running too?
>>71414359any reason to go for this instead of used HD600?
>>71416902It's better and can be cheaper brand new
>>71416902yeah personally I prefer the HD 600 which I own but I would put new pads and cable on it which would cost more money
>>71413812should have got a set of he-500
What's a good ~100/200 USD set of headphones for general computer browsing and some gaming?Had the Sennheiser PC 350 and PC 360, but the build quality on those sucked balls; the volume controllers on both crapped out and they keep pulling hairs and just generally going to shit.

I picked up one these NAD C326BEE integrated amp for a smoking deal (factory refurbished). The thing is there is a popping/crackle in the right channel, maybe 5 or 6 pops. This only happens on a cold start. Once it's warmed up it doesn't do it anymore. Is this something to be concerned about? It is a sign of things to come? I could still send it back. I know this isn't headphone related, but there's nowhere else to post.
>>71420371Ehh I'm going to send it back. Don't want it to crap out on me (only 30 day return window). Considering my 1989 Yamaha RX-500u stereo receiver is dead quiet when turning on, this shouldn't be an issue.
>>71412766>agreeing with staxniggersOK, falseflagger
>>71420371>shitty dac with bass and treble dials >didn't even include mid dialAre you serious? don't go full retard if you buy dial dacs. If you buy then buy all dial options
>>71421352It's not a DAC. It's an integrated stereo amplifier.
>>71421352>>71421367And a badass one at that. Unfortunately I got an issue. NAD stuff is generally wicked though, it's a $700 amp.
>>71421390>>71421367Just amp? then slap a dac to it. Also still, don't buy shit with adjustable bass/treble/mid
>>71421414You defeat it with Tone Direct. All integrated amps have those knobs, but you don't seem to understand. The problem doesn't have anything to do with a DAC. There is a right channel issue (some pops/cracks) in the amplifier that goes away after it's warmed up. Don't worry yourself about it, it's going back because I'm OCD.
