Cycling can be like that if you do it on deserted roads with no or little traffic. I cycle also and in the city is fucking stressful
Cycling gets you faster or further compared to walking but the point is maybe you don't want to get there faster or get further in same time. You just want to clear your head, wander around, enjoy the view or whatever. If you have a companion to make small talk, or walk your aligator walking is perfect
>>
>>70573214
retard
get a bike or get a scooter or something. I don't own a car, I have to take the train because I live outside the city and then I still have to walk for at least 30 minutes to get to work, so at least an hour a day. It's a fucking waste of time, I'd take a bike but I can't bring it in the train with me because it's too crowded.
I don't understand how anyone can find 'clear their mind' by walking in the city, it's everything but relaxing and calm and it barely contributes to you being fit. I've walked ny entire life, I'm nowhere near fit due to it

It does, cardio is goddamn important. I lost 10cm on the belly after 6 months of fast walking. Of course, lifting is important as well, but I believe you won't lose weight on it alone, because you'll need not only hard exercises, but prolonged sessions as well.

5miles was the point where walking got too much. Almost three hours a day was a huge waste and getting a bike means only an hour a day on the cummute now. City traffic is easy to get through if you're not retarded and know the highway code.

>>70573455
>cardio
Walking isnt a fat burner but it's great exercise for people who do nothing else and hopefully can be a decent stepping stone to making yourself healthier and happier for that. Doing it for a commute just has its limits.
>>
>never got a car license
>now I'm graduating college and got a job
>the job happens to be in an office park
>moving in to a place that is like 10 minutes by car away from the park

I dont know what I should do. I'm happy to walk there but 30 minutes to an hour of walking to and from the place every day sounds like a lot, especially since I start early.
Plus it's a very corporate environment so I feel like i'll be looked down on for walking instead of driving.
I'll probably end up taking the bus there to start and then see how easy walking would be while also working on getting my license.

It is, depends on a pulse. If you just stroll, nothing will happen, but marching in Nike foam shoes which send your foot back a bit every time you stomp on it, with a nice 120-180 bpm rock or electronic music, does its job.

There's no fucking way. Americans are insanely impatient. After seeing more than a dozen people waiting, people would abandon it. The only time an American will sit in queue for more than a few minutes is when forced.

If the second story is true it's because the guy was a fucking schizophrenic. Jesus.
