>>70553451>all workloads scale perfectly
>>70553451This makes my eye twitch every time I see it because it gives people a massively skewed idea of how much programs can actually benefit from parallelism; some tasks are inherently serial (each step relies on the result of the last step so they can't be split up) and in other cases the overhead from synchronizing threads actually makes it slower than a single-threaded program that does the same thing
making a burger is paralel thothe bread and lettuce dont come out from the same place as the meat

>>70553451someone pls post that one with nvidia acceleration
>>70554366>distributing workload is going to be done in hardware in the coming years.AMD couldn't make it work, no one really has yet. Bulldozer was designed in mind that the issue of non-parallel workloads being able to be recompiled or on hardware reinterpreted in a way to have parallelism. They thought they could have many cores and solve the workload issue... but obviously that didn't work out so Ryzen is a course correction of that since they know appropriate that you can't simply made a Bulldozer was designed in mind that the issue of non-parallel workload in to a parallel one easily.
