i got a old 2013ish tracfone with android 4.4
I'm only using it to mess around with android development
it's cdma, is it possible to remove/disable it completely?
I don't want it to have any 'phone' capabilities, pretty much make it a ipod touch
does it even matter since it's not activated? I never used a smartphone in my life btw
>>
Im looking at either getting a Pixel 3xl as it is $300 off at the moment, or a Mate 20 (not Pro)...anyone have either of these that can give me advice?
>>
There's Nokia 6.1 (the 4GB RAM variant) on sale in my country for about $135. I was considering an Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 or Xiaomi Mi A2 lite but they're both at about $180 here. How's the battery life on the 6.1?
>>
My Moto G4's starting to have that overheating issue the phone is known for. Not dead yet, but the thing gets way too hot when it charges and I don't know how long it'll be before this becomes a serious problem. Would replacing the battery be a permanent fix or just a temporary one?

ASUS ZenFone Max (M2) any good? Has the bands I need and a pretty nice sized battery. I've never had any experience with ASUS phones.
>>
What is the best custom ROM? After unlocking the bootloader of my Redmi Note 5 I started using xiaomi.eu. Several months have passed and I've now switched to Pixel Experience to try it out. It's buttery smooth, but I don't like the pie bar, it doesn't fix the issue of having software buttons.
>>
>>70174380
Depends on what you need or want out of a phone. LineageOS is usually the staple go-to since it strikes a good balance between AOSP and customization without piling a bunch of options. Pie Bar is also optional, there should be an option to disable gesture in the setting.
>>
Thinking about getting my dad a gift to replaced his cracked up moto g3.

I see a deal on ebay for a 32gb iphone 7 for $425 canabucks. I feel like going for it unless /g/ things spurging for the $600 64gb iphone 8 is worth it.

I'm just looking for the longest lasting phone for my dad. Maybe I should just go for the 8 idk.

>>70174042
6.1 owner checking in. It's bretty good. At least a day with heavy usage no problems. 2 days with moderate usage.
>>
>>70174042

>>70174851
Srs though the 3000 mah battery on the 6.1 is misleading, it lasts a full day with heavy usage easily, with a little bit left over.
>>
>>70173659
How much would the pixel 3 cost with the $300 discount?

Belgium/Netherlands

Currently on ibood there's the nokia 7 plus on sale for 199 eu.

That is all.
>>

pixel experience has the most support currently. That's what I'm using and it's allright. It does seem to trigger the safetynet check though.

mi8 or mi mix 2s?
They both have disgusting chins but mix atleast don't have a notch. BUT mi8 is looking better anyway somehow.
Im so confused and can't decide. Please halp. And no, i can't buy something fresher.
>>
>>70173485
Well it's android one so you'll get at least two years of solid support. Nokia has solid build quality. Snapdragon 845 means great speed and power in your phone.

And likely the (rear) camera is the GOAT, we just don't know yet. But a zeiss 5 lens camera is bound to be at least comparable to the pixel. 3.

You didn't phuk up don't worry. You spent significantly less than the other flagships. I'm sure you made a good decision.
>>
>>70174426
It's just that I wish I had some sort of gesture-based control without something at the bottom. Xiaomi.eu has that, but it's got other issues.

I'm telling you, those aren't the bands of the Global version. Global version always has B4 and B20. Compare to the Redmi Note 7 global:
https://www.mi.com/es/redmi-note-7/specs/
FDD-LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20

Looking at your link the phone doesn't seem to be available anyway, so it's just a pre-announcement listing.
>>
>>70177505
okay then if it can't be the chink one and it can't be the international one maybe it's the india version? what else could it be

Unless it's a placeholder for the international version with wrong spec sheet? In which case good news since it means it'll come out shortly
>>
>>70177525
It's likely a placeholder, but for what version, who knows. The specs sheet is a complete mess, full of errors. The listed bands are for the Chinese version, the listed SoC is Snapdragon 660 even thoughPro has SD675. It lists the rear camera as 12MP even though 7 Pro has 48MP. I wouldn't make any conclusions based on this listing.

Is the OP7 going to put us at peak non-gaming phone and it's all spec war stagnation from there?

>4000 mAh 1.5 day battery with warp charge + 6-8GB RAM and strong/efficient enough processor for most anything
>Only $650

Seriously what do you need after at? Shit literally hits all of your needs in terms of functionality, anything more is really unnecessary for 90% of non-gaming phone use.
6GB is already enough to multitask a bunch, 8 makes you a god, and anything more than that is just a waste unless you're gaming and even then games on phones don't even require 12GB. Even if Microsoft brought game pass to Android it would be mostly overkill.

The product numbers listed on their website do not match those on the PDF. There are car and wall chargers on the website that list specs identical to 4+, but don't explicitly name 4+, meaning they aren't 4+ certified and I don't trust them. There are products on their website that are QC3 certified, but not QC4 or QC4+

So, my Nexus 6 is just simply refusing to do things.
Using instagram with low battery will make the phone shut down.
Sometimes the camera doesn't save pictures taken, especially hdr when the battery is under 40%.
Sometimes chrome has a gui failure which looks like the gpu crapping itself (that may be it).
Battery life is minimal, basically lives hooked up.

BUT I love stock android, and hate samsung's one.

Thingken of anything close to it for max 550USD.
I live in Mexico, carrier doesn't matter, would rather have it free to use it with my current prepaid sim.

There's the One Plus 6 for 500.
Then sometimes some Pixel 2 XL pop up for 550.
After that there's obviously the huge amount of low tier samsungs, motorolas, lgs, etc.

Maybe even considering changing to iphone for a bit, the 6 is cheap, the 7 and 8 are within my budget in the reactivated/refurbished market (3 month warranty only).

I could get something else in the states, but then I'd need to wait and plan to fly there for business and shit.

Band 28 is used a lot in Asia though, that's why some models can reactivate them with QPST/QXDM or CDMATool, even though they might be unstable because there's no tuning data. That's why Taiwan/Hong Kong version of phones usually has it enabled

The problem is that US Band would require a different power amplifier for the modem to support those, not to mention antenna. To get US Bands, you'd likely need to release a US-exclusive version because power amplifiers with those bands likely won't work on other region bands.
>>
>>70181603
Just use the Zenfone Max Pro M1, it should be sub 200. You don't get chinked, there's no notch and it works perfectly for daily use. Plus you get 13-15 hours SoT thanks to the 5000mah battery.

Relatively is the key word here. The combination of a good chipset and polished software can go a long way, despite a disappointing battery capacity.

I dislike Asian Chinese, Taiwan other Asia phones. I was thinking of the best phone i could get around 600 $ was nokia 9. But as i prepare to receive it in 3 days, did i make a good choice?
I actually tried pixel 3 and had serious speaker issue that made me unable to hear people on calls and stuff. with no easy solution, i googled it and found there wasn't a real solution. So I decided pixel 3 was garbage.
s10 is overpriced, one plus is china phone, and maybe the sony x 1 is good but 400$ extra.

Pocophone is the closest thing to the original OP idea these days, but the quality isn't par to their current models and it doesn't support most of US 4G bands. Xiaomi's Mix line, on the other hand, works in the USA and for the same money is a class above OP in terms of hardware, but has worse software. Luckily it is easy to unlock the bootloader and flash a different ROM on Xiaomi phones.

>5 minutes of harmless work in exchange for a $700 smartphone
you're coming out on top, you're jewing the dude who would rather pay you hundreds than jerk off and get the same thing.

The fingerprint scanner placement just shits up everything in the regular XZ2, I wonder why it's better here

What do you care about SD855? Get any shitphone. Get the Zenfone Max Pro M1, you get enough power for daily use, it'll last you 2-4 years EASILY, it's cheap as dirt and it has a jack. Fuck off faggot
if you want OLED you must forego the jack.
>>
>>70191476
So get the SD855 S10e or S10+ then?

I don't believe either of those phones actually exist, like you can't get the global versions yet. I want to buy one but they aren't shipping and are in presale.
>>

You send them proof of purchase with the imei cut out from the box and your information and they send you the money after a few weeks.
>>
Well boys I just got my s10+ it's habbening

You can make them about the same desu. I just like Android one better.

That is presale, it's not shipping. I ordered one on Mar 1 from a seller with 200,000 positive feedback and it hasn't shipped.

Damn. By golly he is right. Sux when this phone came out I was so sad it didn't have this support. I sprung for the a2 lite because it was the better option at the time. So I guess the choice is up to you. Tanks for the info prolly going to have to pick one of these up.
>>
>>70193358
I guess you chose the wrong seller to buy from eh?

nigger the note 7 is in physical shops in europe by now (179-199€), you're mixing up the 2 models
>>70193170
What money tho? I don't get it, do they reimburse you chink vat or sumsuch?
>>
wtf brosI thought quick charge was meme, but my phone literally takes 4/5hrs to charge when not using a qc adapter
>>
>>70193608
It should not be like that
2-2.30 max for 4k mah batteries
>>
>>70193608
Your charger is either shit or broken, because not even a non-fast charger should be that slow

>What money tho? I don't get it, do they reimburse you chink vat or sumsuch?
Nah, it's "buy this product in this time frame and send us the paperwork and we'll give you X bucks". Basically a more annoying version of a sale. Generally it's issued by the manufacturer rather than the store.

>Your charger is either shit or broken, because not even a non-fast charger should be that slow
not really, a 3000mAh battery takes 3-3.5 hrs to charge on 1A
If he has a 4000mAh on 1A it's already 4h+, 5h if phone is being used

So it's a shit charger then. I bought a 100€ shitphone and even that came with a 5V/2A charger, wtf is anyone doing with a 1A charger.
