how many pull ups can you do in one set?
>>
>>54452202
at least 30
>>
Last time I stopped at 15 at the end of my back workout. Usually just do them weighted.
>>
Not many, just started lifting. About 5 I'd say.
>>
>>54452210
>>54452223
>>54452228

how much lbs
>>
>>54452202
11 with perfect form. Shit is hard and i think i've a problem with my right hand's grip/angle or maybe it's the back
>>
>>54452202
Post your weight too, because your 25 pull ups at child weight are not impressive.

90 kg bw, 12 pull ups, 5 with +25 kg
>>
8-15. Depends on day. I always use the lat machine in the morning, so they're always in a state.
>>
>>54452202
200 pounds. Max I can do in one set is 30. But I usually do sets of 8-12 weighted.
>>
>>54452236

220lbs. Going to try for 8 with 75lbs chinups today.
>>
75kg bw 10 reps with 15kg. but still cant do a fucking muscle up.
>>
>>54452210
i weigh 180
>>
83kg, 12 with solid form. Pretty meh, but whatever. Most people I know can't even do a single one.
>>
>>54452283

Muscle ups are like 75% technique dude. Once you can transition your wrist position you can do them with ease.
>>
>>54452202
OP
I'm 92 kg, that is very badass I can only do 4 perfect pull ups in a row atm, I can't afford gym/not want to go and I only do pull ups. My end goal is to hit 30 pull ups in a row.
>>
>>54452302
>Muscle ups are like 75% technique
yeah i agree with you. i know i have strength to do them but my form sucks ass.
>>
specify the width, tardo. wide grip is twice as hard as narrow
>>
>>54452242
I can do 4 pull ups, maybe 5 and 10 chin ups easily at 92 kg. Fasting rn to lose some weight to do more reps
>>
>>54452236
I can do 5 reps at 200 lbs, 6'4
>>
>>54452361
I wouldnt say twice as hard
>>
>>54452364
Were about the same rep count, but Im not as strong as you. I'm about 73kg rn, only a couple months into weight training. Bench? Im curious how the spread works out as I continue to progressive overload.
>>
>>54452364
do weighted chins
>>
>>54452382
I don't go to the gym. I do 40 push ups in a row and want to do 50 with the same weight
>>
>>54452361

The only people who say this are turbotards. Wide grip lowers your ROM and puts you in a weaker position. Just do more reps/weight in the ideal slightly wider than narrow position and you'll make more efficient strength gains.
>>
>>54452412
Aha, that's the difference maker for you then. I'm at around 25-30 in one go rn. Im aware that the muscle groups are a little different between the exercises but its a good motivator to continue doing calisthenics work on my non gym days. Thanks king

>>54452361
It's your fault if you use not optimal grip position, isn't it? Obviously if you're asked for your max then you say you max in your strongest position.

If someone asks for your bench max, would you ask about the grip width too retardo?
>>
>>54452437
roll in push up thread. I would do strength training/weights twice to thrice a week if I were you maybe even less.
>>
>>54452202
15. not sure if i should be happy with my progress or disappointed. i have some nerve damage in my left hand and forearm. i have had better progress adding weight than adding reps. after reps get past a certain point i get a lot of intense burning in the nerve damaged areas.
>>
>>54452474
Already there lad. Its a good balance for me and Im seeing gains in both courts, but Im also on a heavy deficit so Im trying to push the recomp wall as far as I can. We're all gonna make it my dude.
>>
>>54452202
Pull ups are easy compared to chin ups
~15 but am dyel
>>
I can do the same exact number of pullups with a wide grip as I can do chinups, albeit chinups may be a tad easier if I have already done other compound shit.
>>
A lot but it’s the legs kicking or forward lat posistion not ideal type pull up that 99% of us do.

I lat pull in hopes of a better tomorrow. You really see how easy it is to cheat momentum on a pull up when you realize lat pulls are harder if you’re staring in a mirror with perfect posture.

And I can do like 15 pull-ups. I’m well over 200 pounds.
>>
8 on a good day. 6'5, 235lbs. Pretty weak for my size but at least I can pull my weight. My bf is fairly high but I just started my first suicide bulk.
>>
last two digits confirm
>>
wth why is everyone so strong. We talking overgrip pullups here, right? 175lb, i imagine my max is about 8 if i don't do any other prior lifts.

here are my other lifts for comparison:
bench 200
squat 295
deadlift 325
>>
Twenty something. Haven't tried in a while but I do 4 sets of 16.
>>
>>54452202
pull ups are a meme if you're tall. The ultimate manlet exercise.
>>

Hey man, congrats. That shit aint easy
>>
>>54452202
15 without weight.
With weight it gets weird becau se I can only do 8 reps with 10-20 lbs and 6 with 40. So I feel like there's a very steep overload curve. It's difficult to figure it just right for your target rep range.
>>
>>54453264
Weird. I can easily do 22 pull ups but I'm nowhere even near doing a one arm chin up. Did you follow a progression or something?

Fucker, if all you can do is a half-rep or a negative rep, you do that. You do that for how long it takes until you can make one rep, no cheating. Then you go at it for how long it takes to get 2. And then 3. Fail and fail and fail again, in the end all you need is that one success.
>>
>>54453234

>>
>>54462678

Maybe switch to an upper/lower split?
>>
I'm just getting back into the gym after a couple year hiatus. I worked out my back yesterday and have the worst case of DOMS I've ever had. I felt a little too good for my own good. FML.

When it comes to pull ups... how much you weigh and how long your arms are affect the outcome drastically, so comparing rep numbers to someone else is a crapshoot and pretty meaningless (comparing anything to anyone else is dumb anyway). Anyone who knows the slightest thing about basic physics understands my first point clearly.

Wide grip pullups... with perfect form and full extensions, perfectly still lower body (none of that swinging, kipping, or jerking cringeshit) on a normal day I could pretty consistently do at least 8 in a set. I always seemed to notice people watching me when I would do them, (I don't see other people do them often)... I don't recall ever seeing bigger/bulkier guys even attempt them... and the smaller and/or more proportional guys seem to be only ones that do them. The gymnast types, and the "I skip leg day every day" seem to be the best at it.
>>
>>54462785

>>
Form and speed of movement is so important that it’s really not worth counting.

When I do them slowly and with good form I can do 15 but if I’m bouncing up and down I can bang out 25.

Numbers seem to go up pretty quickly on pull-ups. 6 months ago I could only do half of what I can do now but I’ve also lost weight.
>>
>>54463683
That wasn't making excuses for myself, you fucking idiot. It's physics 101 and I'm sorry if you're too stupid to understand the point I was making. You're the one that resorted to excuses and name calling without a shred of evidence to support anything to the contrary.

Doing 10 perfect form pulls ups is a LOT more than the average guy can do. I'm perfectly aware there are fit guys who can do more than that, or do them weighted. I'm also aware the average guy can't even come close to doing 10. Who gives a fuck?

You wanna know how I know you're a spineless coward?
