I got Not a Perfume, Superdose last week, and I’m a big fan. Didn’t have any strong feelings about the regular Not a Perfume—skin musk scents usually aren’t musky enough for me, and it was one of those cases.I’d say it’s like a wet forest type of smell with strong balsam and amber notes; in some ways it is similar to Neandertal Dark, but has far fewer layers of complexity. It’s effective as a simple but dark/heavy fragrance, with very good longevity and sillage.

I can get either prada l'homme or DH2020 at a discounter. any suggestions? I think I'll enjoy either of them but I'm missing something I can wear literally everywhere at any time of the day so DH2020 seems to fit that bill better.
Give me the 5 NON NEGOTIABLE frags every guy should own

>>17898716You should be ashamed of yourself for posting that list
>>17898204I can't believe this shitty meme is still alive
I got some samples from Tauer sometime ago and really liked Au Coeur du Désert and will proably get a bottle. But I wonder is there anything similair aut there? Also any other frag I should sample from him didnt really like the other stuff I got from him that much.
Bleu electrique is fucking amazingI think I tend to like frags like this and D&G the one for example, what scent profile is that? Warm spicy? what are the best in the genre?
>>17898204Bois Imperial is genuinely trendy where I live. it's like the local equivalent of BR540 or Aventus
>>17898289not really that similar, but Voyage d'Hermes is also a nice fragrance with green tea notes on the the lighter and classier side
>>17898360I feel like we haven't really gotten a decade-defining fragrance yetmaybe Sauvage Elixir?
>>17898971buy it, it's an excellent frag>>17898988probably yes (along with the rest of the Sauvage line)
>>17898385>Follow up question - Does that mean when buying discounter bottles there’s a pretty good chance your bottle will arrive and everything will be in… Polish, or Arabic, or w/e?nah, perfume packaging pretty much never uses local languages. discounter bottles are the same as what you would get at retail, there is no real reason not to buy them
>>17898613DH2020 is better IMO
what's the lowest price I can expect to pay for pic rel on black friday?it's at 159€ right now on notino (yuropoor obviously)will it get lower or should I buy it now?
>>17898991Yeah I definitely will but Im just wondering if thers anything similar out there or any more stuff I should sample from him
>>17898705You can't argue with this list. Also affordable.
>>17899002there was a 20% flash sale for everything a few weeks ago, you can probably get some discount applied to that price>>17899004i sampled most Tauer frags and it's objectively the best in his lineup (LADAS is my personal favorite but it's more divisive imo), i'm not aware of similar frags from him (apart from LDDM but it's also quite different desu) or from anyone else, so buy it (this is what i tried to convey with my previous post)>>17899005it's dated as fuck, also at least CW and DN are known to be reformulated to death
>>17898988>Sauvage ElixirToo curry for summer, imo. A decade-defining scent should be all weather.
>>17899007>dated as fuckshare your five

>>17899022is it better than chanel allure hs eau extreme?
All fragrances I like - Aventus, YSL Bleu Electrique, Chanel Platinum Egoiste, Chanel AHSEE last 4 hours. When did it go so wrong?
> Got filtered by this tiktok meme substance.Literally smells like rotting fish at a market. I hate Italians so much it's unreal.
>>17898716Overly brown and homosexual list. Finish highschool first and buy a fragrance before posting this slop here and don't be ashamed of liking atm. I'm surprised you didn't include Prada lhommo and luna rossa
All Santal 33 clones go either in the greener direction (papyrus molecoulaire) or more powdery (commodity book) but I want something that's even more leathery. Is there anything like that?
Why does everyone love Oud Wood so much?
>>17899148What's not to like?
>>17899148Plebian tier mainstream taste. I only those serious who pull off scents Amouage Figment.
There's a fragrance that all these middle aged woman wear and it has this dirty animalicness to it which I really like. I've smelt it on a number of women that I come across through work and they all smell the a same. What is it?
Just cancelled my order for PdM Pegasus. I want a versatile winter scent that's a little sweet but not overly so. What should I get?
>>17899129When you didn't learn anything from this thread re: your taste, which is currently atrocious.
>>17898992Once again, response is much appreciated. It really does change the way you look at buying designer stuff. My mom mentioned offhand about having always wanted a bottle of Chanel No5, basically just as an internal brag, but it seems like after some brief searching (and reading one Reddit post) “Chanel keeps a pretty tight grip on their supply”.
>>17899151I don't know, what makes it better than other mass pleasing winter frags
>>17899165Boucheron Jaipur Homme
>>17899168Yes Chanel rarely appears on the grey market.
>>17899148Most people lack the nose to perceive that Tom ford makes incomplete perfumery.
>>17899168Very true, both supply and prices. Its very hard to find their frags besides Antaeus for less than +1€/ml even through unregistered dealers.
>>17899163maybe Shalimar?
>>17899168yeah, it sucks. that's why I don't own a Chanel even though I quite like Egoiste and AntaeusLalique is the opposite of this, a brand that costs 100$ retail but sells for 20$ on the grey market
>>17899187It's something more mainstream because I smell it on several boomer women who probably arent into niche. It's like dirty woody, guess il never know unless I ask them
>>17899191Guerlain isn't niche.
>>17899165Literally Bois Imperial
>>17899176>>17899181Still useful to know, can shop appropriately during the BF deals this coming week. Unrelated question: With brands like Hermes or l'Occitane, would you consider them niche, designer, or somewhere in between? I have all I’ll need from Hermes, but I’ve been meaning to pick up a bottle or sample of Eau des Baux, and thus far I don’t think I’ve seen the brand as a whole on any niche or broad discounters (albeit, this was a very, very cursory search).
>>17899193Is the dirty wood I'm smelling oud? I still don't know what oud smells like
>>17899191maybe it's BR540?
>>17899195Neither of those are really niche in the traditional sense. Hermes is designer for sure, L'occitane is more like lush or body shop since they also make soaps cosmetics etc. Considering eau de baux is about 60 euros from the retailer it's not the sort of thing where there would be much of a discount market for it.
>>17897115Then read the New Testament. That's all you need if youre doubting.
>>17899196It's possible? Do you work with a lot of Arabs?>>17899198This or one of its clones like Ariana Grande cloud might be likely (although cloud wasn't very animalic when I last tried it).You could just try asking them.
>>17899198No i know br540. It's not sweet. It's like a musky wood
>>17897879Based Dylan Bluer. You can't go wrong with this and Explorer.
>>17897938Hello Quentin, of course we would buy your frag.
>>17899195Loccitane is by no means niche since it's sold in pharmacies besides their official stores where I live. Haven't tried any of their frags so I can't say anything else about them
>>17899194I already own Ganymede though
>>17899022> wear Prada L'Homme every day during the day, and for this purpose I think it's better than Dior Homme, love this shitBetter than Dior Homme Original?
Getting a sample of this, any anon willing to share experience with it? What am I in for?
>>17899218Don't trust him, Prada L'Homme is the most generic scents ever, more generic without any edge like even Dylan Blue or Bleu de Chanel.Dior Homme is by miles superior.
>>17898428Ombre leather > Tuscan Leather for me. Tuscan Leather is a little smokey and smells too much like cocaine for me to buy a full bottle. Ombre leather is mysterious and I want to breathe in forever when I put it on.
>>17899195L'occitane is a cosmetics / beauty store that also makes perfumes. Hermes is very much a designer house, just an independent one that tries to differentiate itself from the others and be more elitist. that's why their fragrances follow a clear house style instead of the more trend-focused approach of most designers nowadaysI personally think the whole niche vs designer distinction is silly and overvalues "niche" brands that make very mainstream perfumes for a mass audience, while undervaluing some designer houses
>>17899223yeah prada l'homme is like dior homme original but with all the good stuff replaced with powdery soaptoo bad, because I think the bottle is great
>>17898613Both are versatile unless it very hot. Very different and for homosexuals according to this board. Dior hommo is resinous woody and musky and Prada lhommo is soapy and clean. I liked Dior very much and worn it to university last autumn and winter. Imo Dior>Prada since its a more bearable version of homosexual because prada shills are one of the worst kinds of people you'll meet pretending like they know shit about smelly water
Why the fuck do people shill this, it's neither 'noir', nor 'extreme'. It just smells like a mid tier bittersweet liqueur, it's not even a particularly masculine scent. Talk about false advertising damn
>>17899199>>17899213>>17899235Gotcha, in hind sight I suppose my perception of “designer” scents is stuff you can find in a Macy’s, and being in the US Hermes and l’Occitane are not widely carried. Actually only one niche store I’ve seen carrying Hermes, and none carrying Occitane perfumes, so I mentally lump them in with niche.
>>17899246it's more of a woody scent with resins
>>17899250yeah Hermes in Europe can be found in every Sephora, so they are very much sold like a classic designer brand over here. tend to be slightly cheaper than Dior at discounters as well from what I've seen
>>17899260Yeah, you can find 50 ml of TdH for ~60 eurobucks.
with my pending order the number of Nicolai frags i own is getting up to eight (30ml) bottlesthey are so good, there is something in the catalogue for all occasions>inb4 Luca Turin hypeno, i found out about the house before reading his guides>inb4 paid shilli wish>SOTD: PdN L’eau miXte
>>17899263What are your favorites?
>>17899264what i have: NYI, Odalisque, Iris Medicis Intense (these are my current top top3), Amber Oud, L'eau miXte, Patchouli Intense, Riviera Verbena, Bois Bélize Intensei have samples for more, all of them at least good
>>17898988Unironically BR540 is what you mean
>>17899223Prada L'homme mogs DH every day of the week in compliments for me
>>17899262I actually bought my 100ml bottle of TdH for around 60 euro, though that was a year or two ago
>>17899171Not being another vanilla spicy tobacco amber powdery oud (ironically) is good enough in my book.
what am i in for? just blind bought because I love vanilla + benzoin.
>>17899458that's what you get. slightly boozy vanilla, benzoin and rose with an opening of pink pepper. it smells nice. very unisex
>>17899464nice, can’t wait. I’ve heard it’s masculine, but based on the note breakdown I figured it would be unisex. Thanks man.
>>17899263>L’eau miXteit is up there with my most loved mint frags, next to a menthe fraiche. shame the longevity is so low
>>17899458>>17899464exactly this plus a good dose of tangerine in the opening. It is a pleasant frag.
So do I cop Reflection Man for 230 or no?
>>17899508one of my all time favorites, absolute masterpiece if you are into floral/laundry style frags. Don’t know if it’s worth that price tag for me personally though due to longevity and projection, it is somewhat subtle after 2-3 hours.
>>17899511The one I smelled at the store was really strong and long lasting.
>>17899508Where?
>>17899536Switzerland
>>17899523may have just been my tester, I got a 2ml and it lasted about 5-6 hours for me until it turns into a skin scent. For the price, that is just not worth it to me personally but again it’s top 5 for me of all time. Absolute masterpiece of a fragrance.
>>17899458reading my notes about it, it says: only an old man (like myself) would wear this
>>17899554It’s a mature frag, but it’s also quite modern in comparison to typical “old man” frags. I’d say anyone 27+ can pull it off.
>>17899178You're a fucking idiot.
