Rate my shitty rotation. I prefer designers. I own about 100 decants but these are the bottles that I ended up buying.Daily: Prada L'homme / Chanel Allure Sport Eau ExtremeSpring/Summer: Kenzo EDT Intense / Le Beau Le ParfumWinter/Fall: Dior Homme Intense / Tom Ford Oud WoodDate: Le Male Le Parfum / Lattafa KhamrahClub: Ultra Male / Red TobaccoMeme: Dior Fahrenheit / SpicebombI'm a bit of a JPG fanboy, I have a decant of Elixir on the way.

Which men's fragrences smell like cinnamon?
>>17810292Got cinnamon cola from this one
>>17810089What is the process for getting to test loads of frags?I usually just have a frag in mind when I go to the store and I will usually just buy it if I'm somewhat into it without trying anything else. I've even bought a couple online without ever trying them.
>>17810370For these, I used an online service sample website so its just bottles of really small amounts repacked from the original stuff. It is a bit expensive to be fair and you can probably save going in person to a shopping center or store but I got to choose a bunch of popular things I've always been curious about and be able to take them in for a good time and record what I felt about it.So now I have a base of ~30 fragrances of what I hate and love enough to try the things I liked for a very long time.I just felt like for the price of one good fragrance I could probably learn a ton at once and I really felt like I did. I know very little about how the scents are classified but I would personally have bought some awful ones if I was just basing by brand or listed scents.
>>17810234Interesting! Someone said the same to me about the night vision.I'll have to test the EdP versions for both as well and compare.
>>17809716Blind bought this and it's my signature frag now. I usually hate fragrances but this one is amazing. It's olfactory art, not a fragrance. Any recs for similar frags?
>>17810251>>17810258Extreme and Infrared are both very sweet, with the green one being a little more fruity/citrusy. I only got a brief whiff of the OG once in a shopping mall, I vaguely remember liking it and planning on buying a sample shortly. Complained about this in previous threads, but my biggest issue with Extreme is the hyped nuclear sillage and hours of performance that everyone has raved about, but (on my skin?) I get like… 30-60 min of performance with weak to moderate sillage. I like the scent for something sweet, but it doesn’t live up to the hype and def prefer the OG scent if I’m looking for a “Spice” frag.

Went to a store today that had some mainstream frags for sale. I took the chance to try a few that I was familiar with from here.I'm not super experienced with frags but it is a hobbie I've recently picked up because of these threads.Jean Paul Ultra Male EdP IntenseI didn't know anything about this until I looked up the bottle right now, but it hit me hard in the face, which makes sense now seeing the name. I immediatly decided that Vanilla just isn't my thing.Jean Paul Ultra Male EdTThis was obviously way milder and I've had a poor opinion of it as I used to wear it when I was 16 which is over a decade ago. I don't think this is a fair reason tho as it is clearly very much liked by a lot of people.Eros Pour Homme EdTI had high expectations for this frag for no particular reason besides the bottle looking very cool to me. The initial smell was alright but it wasn't something I was willing to put down 70 euros for which was the price in that store.Dylan Blue Pour Homme EdTI don't really remember what this smelled like. I was starting to feel a headache.-As I'm currently writing this post I smelled my fingers and I think I got some of the Jean Paul Ultra Male EdP Intense on there and it suddenly smells really nice. This makes me realize how much of a mistake it is to buy a frag based on the initial impression smelling those strips as there is so much more to some frags.I brought the strips with me home but I don't think I'm able to accuratly know which is which besides the Ultra Male ones maybe. As mentioned, I'm not super experienced but my favorite frags that I own and use regularly is Dior Sauvage and Dior Fahrenheit. I'm also interested in trying leather and/or tobacco ones but I'm not sure if it would fit me well.
trying to buy a fragrance for my sister for under 50€ but have no idea what's good for women. Any ideas?

>>17811832I showed my mom basically all of my samples (that are unisex/not strongly masculine) and out of all of them she liked Jazz Club the most. I put some on her wrist and she said she couldn't stop smelling it and her eyes lit up when I said they sold a candle of the stuff. Hope that helps.
would you guys pay 30 more dollars from a 3.4 ounce to a 6.8 oz? 30 more dollars for double or would it literally go bad by then
Beginner, any online place where I can pick samples and they send it to me in a box or whatever. But not samples specific to their brand, I want to pick between many different brands.
>>17811846try out going to the mall first, Sephora and Macy's and Kohls
>>17811842It really depends. In my experience fragrances can keep for a long time. I have a cheap fragrance (Burberry) that didn't start to go bad until the 10 year mark in a non-temperature controlled environment. Also, if you ever want to take your fragrance on a plane ride, keep in mind that 3.4 oz is the max you can have if you put it in your carry-ons.
Hey guys Jeffrey again, im also posting here since the other fragrance general seems to be dead. I’m looking for a very strong Pine fragrance, I want to smell fresh like a pine tree forest. My budget is around 40 euros. Thanks in advance !

Anyone try mixing their own shit? I've been searching for the perfect fragrance for years and then was buying some patchouli oil, which is surprisingly cheap, but most of the other oils aren't so cheap. Can I experiment mixing things together with just 1ml of oils?
>>17811981Look at the OP and click on the DIY links.
>>17811988Thanks. These are much cheaper. So these are synthetics? And natural oils are more expensive?
>>17811991I'm not sure, natural oils are more expensive and are harder to work with, basically you need to balance them out with many other fragrance accords.
>>17811992gotcha. I might set aside like 200 to buy some stuff. I just wanted to try patchouli oil because most patchouli fragrances smell the same anyway and I wondered what it smelled like because its much cheaper.

>>17810440>but my biggest issue with Extreme is the hyped nuclear sillage and hours of performance that everyone has raved about, but (on my skin?) I get like… 30-60 min of performance with weak to moderate sillageMost designer fragrances that have been in stores for more then a year or two have been watered down to shit. Occasionally it's because some specific ingredient was banned but usually it's just the brands trying to squeeze out some more profit by using 50¢ less worth of ingredients per bottle. That's why if you find something you really really like you should immediately buy several bottles from the same retailer and same production batch. If you go to the store a few years later to get a new bottle when you use up the first one is likely going to be watered down piss compared to the first bottle.

New to frags, read the wiki, ordered a bunch of samples. My question is: How long/how many sprays does 5ml of perfume last if I use it every day?
>>17813235Also depends on how much you’re spraying, which is technically a personal choice, but 2-4 is normal I would say. The guy earlier talking about 10+ is an outlier. Basically anyone other than myself could answer this better than I could, but assuming you daily spray 6~ times, 5ml could prob last a month maybe? Again, not the best person to respond to this question.
>>17813247I was thinking about 2-3 sprays in the morning only. Let'a say 3 sprays maximum. There's no reason to apply while at home, tbqh but I'll definitely experiment with them.
>>17813235The general idea I've heard is 1ml is 10 sprays. So, do the math.
>>17813268I’ve seen this a lot as well, but frankly I don’t buy it for most decant vaporizers. A full sized bottle is a little more believable.
My piss-smelling Marlou bottles are on their way. I'm going to smell like a fucking animal. Will keep you posted.
Been keeping attention to what my frags smells over time lately by doing a spray on my wrist and smelling it over the span of the day.I applied some Sauvage on my writst 2 hours ago and just got home from the gym and it smells kinda strange now. The scent that I love is gone. It's not bad but very different. Interesting!
>>17813276Oh the secant ones, yeah those will last longer because they project less. Probably half as powerful as a normal spray depending on what quality of decant you have, some are better than others. Use your head and figure is this approx half a normal spray, or less, and approximate how long it’ll last knowing a normal spray is 1ml = 10 sprays

Been lurking for a couple weeks now, does /frag/ really hate everything popular and only prefer classic designers and niche?
>>17813461no, that's just a loud minority of schizos
>>17813461No? /frag/ hates being served the 1000th iteration of the same slop.
>>17813461/frag/ is full of contrarins and snobs. They are usually right about most things but none of that matters if you just want to buy some shit most people will think smells good. If that's what you want you can just go to sephora, pick 5 bottles that look cool, try them on your skin and get the one you like. There is no need to put any more thought into fragrance then that. Stuff in department stores is designed to smell good and the people that work at big fragrance houses are very good at making mass appealing pleasant fragrances. Ignore youtube/influencer hype, ignore Instagram shilling. Just buy some shit that smells good on your skin and don't worry about it. You don't need to minmax perfume it mostly all smells good and you will immediately know if it smells bad. If you want to get into perfumery as a collector hobby and try more artistic or less mass appealing (as in less people will think it smells good) compositions then its worth talking about here for the few people that have some advanced knowledge and can offer good suggestions.

>>17813637I just finished testing the EdT over the past three days. It ain’t bad, but it’s not really my jam. Think greens in general aren’t.Lasts 4-5 ish hours with moderate to weak sillage. Very ‘green’ on the opening, but the thing that shocked me was somewhere in there is this remarkably strong banana scent. Now I as a noselet immediately thought, “Okay, so what am I smelling right now that I can’t differentiate between a fucking banana”. Went to fragrantica and searched banana on the H24 page and sure enough, over 100 hits. Was amazed it wasn’t just me. Most of them describe it as a green banana, but to me banana is banana. I’ll stick to the OG TdH EdT, that stuff is great.

A perfected balance or at least an attempt at balancing extremely bright and clean elements with extremely dark or dirty elements. L’Anarchiste is one of the groundbreaking examples of a freshie that is in my opinion successful at balancing these two extremes. At the top we are introduced to an unrelenting and piercing mint whose facets are propelled alongside the warm, zestiness of cinnamon to enhance it. The mint and cinnamon are an incredibly genius combination where mint possesses a medicinal and herbal spiciness that pairs compatibly with the warm, woody and dry spiciness of cinnamon to create a rather alluring bright green haze that has a zingy and energetic texture. The woods like sandalwood, vetiver, and guaiac wood are blended in by the facets of woodiness from the cinnamon. These dark, earthy, and smoky woods give L’Anarchiste a sort of bitter, soapy, metallic fougère-like feel when paired with the bright minty and spicy-fresh top notes. A creamy and spicy shaving foam sensation that feels refreshing, tingly and clean like shaving lather which when balanced with the mentholated cinnamon and mint comes across somewhat metallic because of the contrast of woods and menthol. Grooming accessories and organic horticulture medicines are what comes to mind when wearing L’Anarchiste. “I am healthy, stable and well groomed” is what this smell will convey about you on your daily commutes. An ideal day or night scent that is perfect for any season where the spices will manage considerably in cold weather or the creamy sandalwood and cinnamon-mint will refresh you in the heat. I would say that L’Anarchiste could be bordering on a new genre of perfume entirely that is between the organic spiciness of a Fougère and the fresh zest of a cologne.

Ani. Ani-mal crackers. at least I assume they were being clever.

Alright I finally got my Mukhalat Malaki attar from Swiss Arabian; pic related.First things first: incredibly nice bottle. But that’s irrelevant. As for the smell, the initial notes can be a bit harsh. Personally, I think that the spicy, woody and oud-y components are a bit too strong at first and in fact borders on intolerable, but it gets so much nicer after a couple minutes. And it becomes downright lovely on the dry down. I like it overall and can see myself wearing it regularly, as long as I remember to apply in moderation. Fragrantica lists that it has rose notes, but either I'm noseblind to it or it has so little that it's overshadowed by the other components. The attar does lasts many, many hours on my skin so you needn't worry about longevity/performance.Would I recommend it? Sure, but only if you're a fan of Arabic or oud or woody smells. Definitely not a safe blind purchase.(Paging >>17807536...)

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP smells weird. I don't recognize the most prominent note but it's kinda boring. Is it vetiver or saffron or something else? Overall smells like metal, leather or something medicinal with a bit of oranges in the very beginning. Neutral and boring smell.
>>17814189I have the original nuit de lhomme from... 2015ish? I suppose it smells like that?

Bros, do girls my age 18-21 prefer sweeter fragrances on men like Azzaro/Spicebomb/Stronger with You, fresh fragrances like Dior Sauvage, BDC, YSL or woody earthy fragrances like Hermes, Amouage?

While eating my gf's pussy from behind I occasionally get whiffs of her butthole. It doesn't smell fecal but it's a pungent scent that's hard to describe. She's 21 years old and lives off fast food and Starbucks. What fragrance would recreate this scent profile?

I smelled pic rel at a shopping mall some weeks ago to know what its DNA was like. I bought CdNIM (edt) and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was NOT hype: it really smelled as I remembered Aventus did. I've been using it daily since I bought it. It's been over a week so I'm pretty used to it. Today, I returned to the same shopping mall and smelled Aventus again, and I can confirm it smelled the FUCKING same. To be perfectly accurate, Aventus had lost some of its power by the time I left the shopping mall (10 min.), while CdN can last the whole day (12h+). My stupid naggign brain keeps telling me the original is better and that I should ditch the clone, although I know that logically and empirically makes no sense. My question is: can you be perfectly honest and tell me if it is worth it? What would I get out of Aventus that I'm not getting out of CdN other than the satisfaction of wearing "the real thing"?
