Zoologist is the most over rated house out there, they churn out "artistic" fragrances that are over priced and just don't smell great, and then people hype them because it's the cool thing to do. They are the emperor's new clothes of fragrance, and they are incredibly useful because anytime someone fervently praises them I can disregard their opinion.

Bogartbros and antibogartbros, what's your opinion on OG One Man Show? Never owned Bogart before.
>>17638250onlly Bogart I've tried is Pour Homme. it's alright. kind of smells like "ck one shock meets le male" or something
>>17638250OG one man show was extremely weak for me, to the point where i couldn't detect 10 sprays on my wrist after 5 minutes. therefore i don't really have an opinion on the smell as i could barely smell it.OMS oud edition is kind of shit because there is no oud in it, it just smells like an 80s soapy fragrance. if that's what you want then great but the name is misleading, many such casessignature is really good, my favorite from the brand

>>17638446yes, please stop being a newfriend and read the sticky>Niche fragrances are for the more experienced fragrance enthusiast who wants a richer and more complex scent profile. They are made by fragrance houses that exclusively produce perfumes and use higher quality ingredients. And of course with higher quality and exclusivity comes a much higher price tag than the designer fragrance lines. But be warned, Niche fragrances are not designed with mass appeal in mind, they are made for someone who wants an experience out of their fragrance's scent profile, which means they are much more likely to use scents that have a limited appeal to many people. Always test Niche frags before buying. Avoid blind buys of Niche frags if at all possible.

Got a decant of When the Rain stops. Does NOT smell like a situation of when the rain stops dont know what MM was thinkingIt does not smell feminine either, if you would say this is MM Lazy Sundays - which I have never smelled - I would believe you because it smells clean, not necessarily freshcomfy scent for the spring though
>>17638483After a few extra whifs, I don't understand how ANYONE could think this smells something remotely to "when it stops raining" (pic related; dumb fucking misleiding review)anyways, it does smell clean but very forgettable
>>17638183cheers. I wasn't sincere about wanting to buy it because of the cute mouse, but I'd be lying if I said the appearance of the fragrances isn't what caught my eye to begin with.

>>17638519I'd be very selective and sample more than those before you buy for cold weather. at least where I live, the cold doesn't last long so if I'm buying a fragrance I'm only wearing 3 months of the year at most, it better be something I absolutely love. >>17638564do you live near dallas? there's a scent room in downtown and they carry a lot of niche stuff. you can spray their bottles on skin, or test strips (they give you a pen to mark them). >>17638570I don't want to ever be near dallas, or buy stuff from dallas, or support texas in the slightest way, that's why I'm looking for alternatives to scentsplit. Hey Anons, I'm looking to up my fragrance game and was wondering: what's the best fragrance to wear when you want to smell wealthy? I want to smell like I just stepped out of a luxury car or a high-end boutique. So far I’ve been utilizing bdc and aventus. But now every normie has them. I'm open to any suggestions, whether it's a classic fragrance or a newer one, I want something with crazy silage and projection that can fill up an entire room, like zyklon B.Either way thanks in advance for your help!

>>17637704Anons, I need your advice here. My dad's turning 42 next week, and I want to surprise him with a cologne for the summer. I've got a budget of $75, and he's not a fan of sweet fragrances (I wear to wear some mainstream blue scents that he can't stand).I stumbled upon Polo Cologne Intense, which is the 2021 flanker of Polo OG. It's described as wearable and not overly sweet. I haven't seen much discussion about this frag on /fa/. However, I did come across Gent Scents review, where he praised it as a good wearable modern interpretation of the OG.So, my question is: Have any of you tried Polo Cologne Intense? What are your thoughts on it? I need to confirm it's a good fit for my dad. Thanks!
>>17638785
>>17638813does he wear any fragrances already?my dad liked the bottle of Encre Noire Sport I gave him a lot. that's a nice non-sweet modern freshie, at a nice priceif he likes old school classics, something like Eau Sauvage or ADP Colonia could also work well. or even Grey Vetiver if he likes it green and earthy

Personally, I'm not a big fan of them, although I believe Ombre Noire is of great quality for mature men. Keep in mind I want something wearable in the summer.
Fragrance to seduce a woman?
Euro bro’s should I buy the Kerosene and Pineward sample sets? Theyre like 100€ each but if there are some bangers in there could potentially have initieret scents no one in the entire EU except 1 or 2 schizos in eastern europe have.

>>17638891sounds like you should give him something else than a fragrance if he has many and doesn't use them
>>17638473With a fragrance name like "Sundowner", it becomes very apparent that it is supposed to be worn on summer evenings. Fragrantica reviewers just never test fragrances in the summer once they have decided they are for the winter. Some stuff gets straight up awesome during the summer and is absolutely worth wearing, even though the average fragrantica user would get an aneurysm if you told them that.>>17638873>>>>17638887Supporting this. >>17638935I'm not hating on your choice but I really don't get Eros. Every youtube frag vid is hyping it, 9/10 times it comes out on top of every other frag, women love it, etc. I think these tests are flawed however, because 1) women don't know what the fuck they want, 2) fragrances smell different on paper and skin (not to mention various skin types), 3) on these tests the fragrances are smelt immediately upon spraying, without drydown. Everytime I go to the store to try out fragrances it's always an 'eh' reaction from Eros. It's nothing interesting, nothing stands out and I think Dylan blue is a lot better. I'll give it 1 more try and I'll literally go in there and try just Eros EDT, Eros EDP and Eros Parfum (3 sprays each) on different spots of my skin and walk around the mall a bit to test it out.

Its smells like rubbing alcohol, then mint, then coconut, then some other shit. It's $30. Dorks that collects dozens of bottles need to stop jerking each other off about how smart they are. Stop watching youtube video about it; it's the same as the magic the gathering dorks, or the fantasy football dorks. If you want to feel good about yourself, so exercise and lose weight. Spraying yourself once with every single one of your 230 bottles won't make you happy, just thousands of dollars poorer.
>>17639449thats cause youre broke and a lil stupid haha
>>17639240seems like anything that doesn't perform well on skin is supposed to be sprayed on fabric. but on the flipside anything that does project and last on skin needs to be kept away from clothing.
Afnan 9pm, Afnan aruthi blue and rasasi hawas are on their way ETA 3hExcited and will review

>>17639548Man it almost smells like distant wildfires, I don't even know how to properly describe it besides that. I love it. Gf approves of it. It projects and lasts forever.
>>17639449>This hobby is dumb as fuckIt hurts because it's true. Recently, I decided to sell off my collection and now I'm left with just 8 bottles. While I adore the experience of smelling different fragrances, I couldn't justify owning over 4 liters of cologne. Moving forward, I've set a limit of owning a maximum of 10 bottles and will be purchasing decants and tiny amounts of oud to continue enjoying the experience. Also, you are a poorfag and your taste is shit.

etat de libre d'orange discovery set... too bad its 5/7 womens perfumes.. though jasmine cigarette is fucking sexy. Smells like a high priced whore out on the town.
>>17639593All ELDO perfumes are unisex.Which ones are there in the discovery set tho?
>>17639593my favorite from them is Fat Electrician. very wearable despite the wacky idea of a gourmand vetiver
>>17639593>Smells like a high priced whore out on the town.well what are you waiting for anon? wear it with pride
>>17639161On the deep dry down the moss emerges and the similarities with aventus are minimal, it gets more interesting, it's a totally mass appealing wearable moss which is something I would never thought it could exist The performance also is amazing, after almost 12 hours I still feel it projects. So that confirms me that the fragrance is synthetic as hell, despite people claiming otherwise.
i need...a fragrance that smells of cuba

I kept reading that it was a good natural approach to aventus DNA but with a new direction and if they told me it was another cheap aventus clone I would have believed it In fact, I own club de Nuit limited edition and I think its actually the better fragrance of the two

Hawas bottle is from 2023 and apparently its reformulated hard..... bummer
>>17639656I guess you don't like the DNA, because Cedrat Boise is actually good. In any case the best thing about aventus is the fresh opening which is considerably better than anything else trying to imitate it. But on the dry down is 99% club de Nuit intense
Final verdict, turathi blue is a blue frag perfect for work in the summer imoHawas after an hour lost the more bitter top and settled for a really light fresh fragranceKinda eager wearing 9pm in summer but that might be too cloying

musc au ravager is supposedly a very animalistic scent, any takers?
>>17639718it's good and one of the best scents if you dress in a goth fashionperformance is contentious though and there are some other fragrances with basically the same idea like Heeley Cardinal or Jovov Liturgieif you want to try it but can't find it for testing you can also go to a local catholic church, sit in the front during mass and try to catch a whiff of the incense lmao
>>17639722Musc Ravageur (2000) is an interesting and very successful attempt at making musk without a typical white musk molecule, removing the “laundry” aspect of most modern musks and creating something oriental, fatty, and animalic like the musks of old. Having smelled deer musk, this is by no means that kind of smell via vegetal proxy, but it is a wonderfully sensual musk in it’s own right, full of the loudness and performance all the “beastmode” power fragrance fans crave. Due to it’s aggressive nature, Musc Ravageur leans very much male, despite being genderless in composition, and this is due to sociological conventions. The average self-identified CISHET woman would likely find Musc Ravageur too rich, overtly-sexual, and lacking subtlety; that’s not to say there aren’t some ladies who love headstrong fragrances (they were the rage in the 70’s and 80’s, with fragrance gender lines blissfully blurred back then because of it), but on average, strait guys looking to troll for dates at clubs and bars seem the likeliest purchasers of Musc Ravageur. The biggest obstacle to this being made reality however, is the prestige price point of the average Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle composition, which rival Creed at MSRP and keep Musc Ravageur from stalking all but the most exclusive night clubs. The notoriety of Musc Ravageur is also a bit undeserved, as it’s not the horniest animal in the woods, with stuff like Kiehl’s Original Musk (1963) or Serge Lutens Muscs Koublaï Khän (1998) flogging it senseless in the virility department, for those who care about such things.
>>17639727okay and?
>>17639722>>17639727It’s probably for the best that only the “upward mobility” segment would dare drop cash for this, because I can see Musc Ravageur becoming suffocating in the way Jovan Musk for Men (1973) used to be due to it’s former ubiquity in social settings. Malle making this a pricey rare bird ensures that instead, Musc Ravageur is always a pleasant, if provocative surprise when encountered in the wild. Technically speaking, Musc Ravageur is an oriental, and not a musk, since it contains none, but the immense impression of musk it leaves is far better than most things containing the actual molecule. Lavender and bergamot are very expectantly the top here, but in moments they give way to a huge clove and cinnamon tandem that is the heart and shapes the rest of the experience. If you don’t like either of these in abundance, then Musc Ravageur is not for you. Heaps of vanilla and tonka in the base do the rest to shape the “musk” accord of Musc Ravageur, flanked by woods like cedar and sandal which dry it up just enough to keep it from smelling like dessert, which it almost does anyway. Gaiac wood and linalool add the final touch of woodsy floral spiciness which “browns out” the dry down of Musc Ravageur to an aura of thick bakery spice and sweat combined with an aromatic untreated wood finish. Sillage and projection are on levels you’d need Neil DeGrasse Tyson to figure out, and longevity is “until you wash it off” levels of good. I’m saying all this from just 2 sprays, so if nothing else, Musc Ravageur may actually be worth it’s price just for sheer performance, and a 100ml/3.4oz bottle of this should provide a lifetime of bakery meets jock strap next to a lumber yard ambiance.
>>17639722>>17639727>>17639729I like Musc Ravageur, but similar to most scents in this category, I don’t see myself aligning with the Type-A personality and blunt intent needed to enjoy what this offers more than once or twice a year, meaning that for me, this isn’t a full bottle purchase. I do give this a thumbs-up as one of the better musks in the game (even if it doesn’t contain a musk molecule), and certainly one of the few Frédéric Malle releases that doesn’t feel like an outright fleecing for its price tag, since performance is even greater than what the usually-impressive Creed ambergris bases offer (for comparison), with a drydown of spice-laden vanilla and tonka that never ends. Penhaligon’s Endymion (2003) would offer a lighter, more manageable version of this experience, with much less projection and a more finite lifespan, at less than half the cost to boot, so if you feel Musc Ravageur is a bit too much, then that is the route to take. As for everyone else, if you’re looking for a high-end, over-the-top sweaty oriental cream chowder parading around as a funky musk, this is the dog that’ll hunt, just be kind with your sprays, as a little goes a very long way. Keep this one to winter time and do not torture your coworkers by showing up to the office smelling like a musky husky pretty please, although if you work outside, I guess it’s okay to wear, I just definitely see this as a fragrance meant to help you “score”. Some say original 2000 vintage is even stronger than the better-mannered new production I’m smelling, and that’s a legend I frankly don’t want to test. Hats off to Maurice Roucel, you got us real good with this one, and you would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids and their dog. Thumbs up.

Greetings, esteemed fragrance connoisseurs. I am in search of olfactory compositions possessing exceptional potency that can saturate an entire room with their scent. Although I have obtained a diminutive sample of Sauvage elixir, its ubiquity amongst common individuals has caused me to seek alternative options. Despite perusing various virtual marketplaces my research of fragrances has mainly shown me those who haven’t appeared to align with my preferences. As a novice in the realm of perfumery, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or recommendations you may offer. Thank you kindly in advance.
>>17640375kouros + antaeus 10 sprays eachyou can thank me later
>>17640387I hold no desire to administer more than a limited number of sprays to attain the desired effect. Procuring a pair of fragrances and dispensing ten applications of each appears excessive. I seek a composition of such strength that only a meager amount of spritzes will suffice to endure the entirety of the day, and envelop me in a conspicuous olfactory aura.

>>17640375joop homo
>>17640375Jovoy Psychedelique is very potent and also a very good scent
>>17640448I must, with the utmost conviction, reject the proposal to employ Joop as my olfactory signature, for it does not conform to the strict standards of opulence that I hold dear. To be sure, the mere thought of donning such a fragrance is anathema to me, as it is likely to evoke a malodorous odor that is unworthy of my refined sensibilities. Nay, my olfactory aspirations are of a much loftier nature, for I seek to exude a scent that is not only potent enough to overpower my surroundings, but that also exudes an alluring and captivating aroma, one that is sure to enrapture all those in my vicinity and leave a lasting impression. Indeed, my quest for the perfect fragrance is a pursuit of the very embodiment of the sublime, a standard that can only be attained through a perfume that adheres to the highest echelons of olfactory excellence. As I embark on my quest, I am reminded of the immortal words of Shakespeare, who famously wrote, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." And yet, names do matter, for they carry with them a certain cachet, a certain je ne sais quoi, that can elevate a fragrance from mere scent to an embodiment of one's very essence. It is with this in mind that I approach my search, with an unwavering commitment to finding a perfume that is not only fragrant but also embodies the very essence of my being. my pursuit of the perfect fragrance is a noble endeavor, one that requires nothing less than the utmost attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to excellence. It is only through such a commitment that I can hope to exude a scent that is worthy of my refined tastes and elevated position, a scent that is sure to captivate and enchant all those within my sphere of influence.

On Parfumo you literally can see 2 types of user. The old passioned community user who sell they used frag for a good low price, because of passion without trying to make money. And the braindead hypebeast, fakery, rude(because they think it's cool), money making mentally user. They selling they fragrance like Aventus for 850 bucks. If i would be admin i would ban such user.

>>17640716It's still available in europe and elsewhere, just america has some stocking issues. I think you can just go for one of the ebay offers, it's a pretty cheap frag to begin with and a lot of people blind buy theirs and then want to get rid of it when they discover it's nothing like their favorite dior sauvage
>>17640886You're at the point where it would be the easiest to just visit a store and sniff their selection. They have paper strips where you can easily test a fragrance and if you think you like it you can test it on your skin. Should be possible to find 3-4 interesting fragrances that you can then spray onto your wrists/elbows and wear them for a while to see which one is your favorite. Try to find stuff from the various categories of the chart/flowchart or the nice cheapies pastebin, even though not all of them might be available everywhere.
