Materials should be silk and/or wool pile. The fringe should be cotton or silk. All silk rugs are the most expensive, but they are also not intended for heavy foot traffic. Put them where you can enjoy them with bare feet or use them as a wall hanging.

I went to morocco twice and bought rugs, and got a few second hand locally. What I've realized is that I get sick of them. At least with a proper berber rug if you haul it home you will get a nice price for it, but otherwise I think youre pretty misguided if you have an expensive rug high on the list of things to buy for the home
