>>17534679Some of the best cowboy boots are made in Mexico, uses exotic leathers and they are some of the highest quality footwear you can buy in the price range, implying that you like cowboy boots. Thursday just uses shit materials, with low quality control, meaning shit wages and using gray market workers or subcontracting from other factories. They are making a killing, honestly I think that each pair costs less than 30 dollars to make, the rest is marketing, logistics and paid shillsAvoid that fucking brand, I won't buy anything from them in my fucking life
>>17534838why can't any of these other brands make price comparable boots if these only cost $30 to make?are you telling me that the overheads for other companies justifies charging twice the price?
>>17534702If anyone actually owns these... how is the quality? Apparently Rick sourced the leather, so they might be okay, but, the shittiness of docs is a lot deeper than just the leather being utter garbage. I would never buy these disgusting """boots""" but I'm curious as to how they are. The price of them is utterly ludicrous.
>>17534889Thursdays are targeted for the international market for the average burguer that listens to YouTubers, similar boots that are made in Mexico are sold in Mexican brick and mortar shops for around the equivalent of 30-40 USD with pretty much the same quality but completely different designs obviouslyThey are able to maintain the current prices because of thatIt's baffling to see that people are falling for that brand, they are being tricked
For anyone reading this thread with half a brain: Take a moment and actually look at the OP image.OP claims Thursday's are ugly, and then posts a bunch of boots that look exactly the same. Why is that? The reason is boot fags are massively insecure, and I can't wait for the seething to start.See Thursdays are pretty dogshit quality wise. Quality control is non existent, welts tear off, boots will be different sizes, leather will have huge discolorations, etc. And there are anons who solely tear into Thursday because of their quality issues, and that's fine.Notice that's not what OP is going after. There are other anons that will try and tell you Thursday makes ugly boots, and will then show you boots that look very, very similar to Thursdays. Not exactly the same of course, but close. Thursday boots hurt bootfags egos because deep down they don't give a flying fuck about quality, the overwhelming majority don't work a job or live a lifestyle that necessitates a hard wearing boot. So when they drop $600 and then Thursday makes a boot that looks the same for $200, they fucking seethe. After all, their boots were made to order! They had to wait eight months for some twelfth generation cordwainer to make the boot and that means it's a masterpiece that will clearly show off their superiority everywhere! Meanwhile Esmeralda in cartel country is banging out multiple boots per hour while chain smoking, watching a telenovela in the background and wolfing down tacos and getting an even bigger gunt than before. The boot she makes will fall apart if you think about it, but it looks like the same as the grandmasters boot.Yes Thursdays are horrible boots, but only due to QC issues. The reality is they make boots that look as good as vastly more expensive models and the people who paid for more expensive brands can't stand it,so they expose themselves with dumb shit like this he OP.
>>17534935>ContAnd the problem with this is QC issues are fixable with time, money and experience. I don't think anyone managing Thursday gives a flying fuck though, they aren't going to change their model because their boots sell and sell well.If they did fix the issues, it would mean that you could buy a boot for $200 (realistically probably increasing up to $250 to pay for fixing production issues) that aesthetically competes with boots at least three to four times that price. So when someone is bitching about Thursday, take a step back and see what they are actually complaining about.
>>17534692Hahaha so you're short AND poor is what you're saying, and rather than accepting the height issue and fixing the monetary you're trying to hide both.Normally I just call people fags and nigger but I want you to know I genuinely believe you are a sad, poverty tier pathetic man obsessed with height, and you're an intellectual midget as well since you rely on other men to gather information and spoon fed it to you.

What's your guys' ideal boot fit? I was issued 10 reg combat boots in the military but they eventually started feeling loose in the section above the heel, same with this pair of Golden Fox "Overlord"s that were in my low budget range. Tried size 9 Wolverine "Kilometer"s but they gripped the size of my foot too tightly and the leather of the heel burnished into a squeaky surface. I currently have trust issues over keeping a pair of size 9.5s, worried I'll be let down again after they've broken in.

/btg/ i need advice. I need a good pair of boots that will last me a long time. I have been researching for maybe 4 months now and the only boot that I keep going back to is Nick's ridgeline (pic rel). The price is steep, but it is something I can afford (the sales rep also said they do sales around Easter time, too).My question: what am I getting into if i buy these? I see so much discourse on Nick's, White's, Frank's, Sneed's, etc. Any other boot I look at I compare to the ridgelines and I always place them above any other boot. I do not own any other pairs of boots, so it would suck ass to buy these and have them come out shitty or something, does anyone have experience with these? Any general advice? thanks :)

>>17535974>3mm is enough room at the toesNot at allShould be like 1-2cm at the toes
>>17536455both will perform just fine
>>17536715So... In a guide like this the CM describes the foot length that the shoe fits, not the length of the insole/boot? Meaning if my feet are 28cm for example then I should simply take a 10.5 UK, not go for like a 11UK because I'm trying to make sure I get enough room for the toes.
>>17536731Depends on the brand, my feet are 28.2cm and I am normally 10.5UK and EU45.I only have a single pair of US shoes and they are US11 but it's on Alden's trubalance last which is generally very roomy overall.Anyway that chart is probably based on foot length, not insole length. So for me C&J is somewhere between UK10.5 and 11I've generally heard that for high end British brands like C&J, Edward Green and Gaziano & Girling (and Italy's Meccariello) the correct size is usually 0.5 more than other GYW brands like Carmina, TLB etc so it makes sense
>>17536731In C&J guide the CM roughly describes the foot length that the shoe fits, its not the insole length. But with C&J most lasts are TTS so just get your US brannock measurement and subtract 1 from it.
What's the best way to store boots for summer without them getting mold or anything like that?I'm thinking of putting them in their boxes and storing them at the bottom of my wardrobe, not taking them to the garage, because I've seen so many photos of people finding mold and shit after taking their leather shoes out of storageMaybe I should throw in one of those "do not eat" moisture absorbing packets?
>>17536738Any place with little humidity. If you live in a very humid climate you might want to store them someplace else since most garages aren't insulated and moisture will crawl in.
>>17536731My feet are 28.5cm and 10uk/44.5eu is tight for me, but I have still up to 1cm of free space left in front of my big toe. Get 11uk/45eu if you are planning to wear thick wool socks with your boots.
>>17536819UK11 will be too big for 28cm feet, UK10.5 at most but most C&J boot lasts are generous enough in toe depth and width anyway so UK10 should work out fine as they were designed with thick socks in mind.

>>17536828>>17536918these would be a lot more neat if they were wholecut
i bought some trashed 875s from a thrift store and tried to condition them back to life but I only succeeding in making them really shiny and now they look retarded

>>17536828>>17536902>>17536918>>17537551>>17538022The issue is that they have Texon as a lasting board. Supposedly high-quality corpos can't even use leather soles?
>>17538148No shit. The recent explosion of """"alpine boots""" has all the trademark signatures of being a highfashion ploy to sell chinkshit to the masses. This general is excellent about mocking them but sometimes you have you encourage an idiot to make a dumb purchase so he'll regret it and learn to hate the jew. If you didn't read that, good. Fuck you, buy White's. The wait time for new boots isn't long enough yet.
>>17538048Even from the top down those look in dire need of a resoling. You should have taken them to the cobbler and let him bring them back to life. Also that color ain't even close to the 875's, are you colorblind? Should have used colorless polish, cream or whatever you used. And to top it off you should have stopped before covering both boots whole.Try to wash them with saddle soap or even dish soap. Make sure to dry them out thoroughly and recondition withcolorless stuff. Although a bit of tint is due to stay on.
>>17534584all shoe trees are the same, just get the cheapest ones people spending 100+ for lasted shoe trees are absolute retarded
>>17535009I suspect Edward Green and Carmina use some of kind of material between the upper and the lining to prevent creasing, in fact I'm pretty sure that EG's heel stiffener extends all the way to the front of the arch.
>>17538256>in fact I'm pretty sure that EG's heel stiffener extends all the way to the front of the arch.definitely not, my Galway is half unlined, and at the arch its the smoothest most buttery leather i have. I would be expecting real leather heel stiffeners but celastic in the toe since that doesn't really matter. Never bothered to ask.
>>17538048What them better with ordinary soap and shoe brush. A couple of times. Then recondition.
>>17538111>>17538206Lmao I didn’t even use any colored cream, just renovateur x2 and a round of lexol a couple days later. I already knew they needed a resole
>>17538397Renovateur can darken the color a bit but tgat tone is way different from the original 875. Perhaps the previous owner used colored cream?

some more pics with better lighting. i tried with just some water and brush to remove some of the shine. i'll be taking them to a rw store eventually

Can I wear semi-balmoral boots with jeans? I think they're tipping the scale a little bit too into formal category.
I acquired some new old stock Corcorans, the ones without the plastic coating, but they rub against my heel.Is this indicative of them being too small or too big, and will breaking them in reduce the rubbing or will the solid heels and toe caps prevent this? Maybe the upper softening will make my feet sit further forward?
>>17538687Wash with soap or use degreaser on the stitches and sole. They will be much cleaner.
sexo>>17538757maybe in a more casual material like a hatch grain or suede

Have some original 3rd Pattern Jungle Boots coming Tuesday, dated 1966. What am I in for? The originals seem have unstructured toes, bottom pic for reference, I like the look. And check out those butts

>>17536273it just takes time, white's are notorious for having a hellish breakin compared to most other boots, due to using thicker leatherthey will loosen up and soften over time, your foot will slowly compress the leather insoles, and the boots will fit like a glovemy caulks took around 2 months before i could wear them for an 8hr shift without pain

My skolyx x midas SB or whatever it was came.Got the dark brown because the other brown looked too much like color 4 shell. I wonder how this ages. I like it.
Fairly thick pull-up cow leather, as expected of a SB. Will probably crease like hell, whatever.
some last comparisonEG72, 2030 and Midas, idk what last it is. Quite round but less so than i expected, it fits very comfortably and i have lots of space around my toes, less so in the instep. But this might change after break in.
veldtschoen construction, handstitched. Pretty good i'd say, these are gonna be beaters, i hope the dr sole i opted for instead of dainite works well.
Like i expected, already creasing badly from 30 minutes indoor wear. I really like them so far.Fit is good apart from a bit tight instep, UK10 in TTS norfhampton stuff, US11 brannock, i took EU45 in these, worked out well. At 500E these absolutely BTFO Viberg, if you like the last these are a good option for a SB in Yurop. The Arch support is good. I have to go now so maybe more pics later if anyone wants. @anon who asked if they are based of cringe, i guess they are based.
>>17539755What causes creasing? Mine creased too. Is it just cheaper leather? Fit is on point otherwise.
Why Dainite are bad ? Aren't they a quality rubber sole ?
>>17539755>>17539851Looks like shitty painted over with some polyurethane coating.
>>17539857I've heard they're really slippery, borderline impossible to walk with on snowy/icy ground or even wet concrete. Other than that I've heard nothing bad about them.
>>17539868>wet concretedainite performs perfectly fine on concrete, its only wet marble floors that are impossible to walk on.
>>17539851>Is it just cheaper leather?can be, can also be shit clicking, bad lasting etc. Some leathers are just more prone to it than others, not really surprised with pull-up cow.>>17539861>polyurethane coatingprobably is but i have no way to check, no clue why so many do it right now.
What are the pro & cons of celastic toes ?Should I choose celastic toes on an horsehide White's bounty hunter pair of boots ?
>>17539861>>17539902>polyurethane coating on such nice expensive bootsDoubt it. Leather creases, some more than others.
