Poorfag here. Always wanted to own Aventus but will never be able to spend that kind of money on it. Is there any alternative, or any way I can get it for cheaper?
>>17256788there are a shitton of Aventus clones out there. idk which of them are decent though
>>17256788Club de nuit intense man. The EDT is good, but the opening is rough. The EDP and Parfum are more expensive, but they smell smoother in general. If you're just going for price, get the EDT

Just got my bottle of Pardon and Prissana Maruyama, and a discovery set of the entire Rogue catalogue. Holy shit bros I'm so excited.
>>17256766god damn how much did he pay for this trash
>>17256784this is embarrassing for OP that bought this shit kek
>>17257045Wow, /frag/ still has people with taste - great picks anon. Is Rostracto included in the Rogue catalogue? How is Maruyama? Seems nice based on notes, but knowing Prin I wouldn't trust on the notes alone. I think Pardon is the best pick out of Nasomatto's choice; I pulled the trigger on Baraonda, but it's so strong that I very rarely get to wear it. Think I need to get some rewears on it.
>>17256662I'm sorry you fell for the Aventus meme in the current age (assuming you got that bottle after 2018). I love The One EdP even though it's a bit weak and BdC is a no brainer. Y EdP is kinda redundant because you already have the superior blue fragrance. Not a fan of Acqua di Gig and Cool Water but they might work for you.

Still trying to buy an anon's old samples
I love antaeus but I feel it just doesn't last enough. The opening is amazing and the drydown is very floral and pleasing, what family of fragrances should I be looking for?
>>17257045Currently wearing Chypre Palatin on one wrist and Chypre Siam on the other to compare. Both are beautiful but so far I prefer Palatin. The civet in Chypre Siam is way muskier than I expected, not as easy to wear, but its starting to mellow out.
Anyone tried Encens Suave yet, I'm really itching for it this season
>>17257040based BI sissy, this makes me go noseblind I cannot tell if I like it or not, for me it smells like cleaning products used to mop the floor
>>17257053Yes it has rostracto. I haven't smelled a lot of Prin Lomros but Maruyama and Natsumeku were my favorites. Both are Japanese inspired but I decided to go with Maruyama. To me, Natsumeku smelled cleaner, fresher, almost kind of detergent-y, whereas Maruyama is spicy, herbal and floral. It smells vaguely edible, like opening up a spice cabinet. To me its not a super challenging scent and not as out-there as some of Prin's other stuff. I recommend it.
>>17256552I heard that the chinese love Opium
>>17257092The Chinese love bad 80s frags because in the 80s only the midt wealthy elite could afford European luxury goods. Ok. so just a general question . Last week I picked up a bottle of Tobacco Vanilla from a department store. I opened it up today and seems like there was a minor leakage.Shall I return/claim it?6g is I think missing - does this equal to 5.1 ml?How much does a bottle of 100 ml usually contain ml? I suppose there is some real margin tolerance - do you have any idea?I tested out the cologne and it lasts like 14 hours which is outrageously good. Please let me know, since it does not allow me to sleep at night an can't find it out over the internet. Also the atomizer does not fit in snug on that 100 ml - there is a slight gap. do you think it's okay or is my batch in general faulty?Wondering about your experiences, thanks /fa/nons
>>17257144Why do you think some leaked? Bottles aren't usually filled completely to the top. Did thr inside of the box smell like a bunch of frag was spilled in there? Usually if a fragrance leaks its a huge mess and the bottle is like half empty because it will keep evaporating
>>17257164IFRAcels stay seething
>>17257175Every Rogue fragrance is ifra complaint (and they always have been) and his products are sold in Europe. In fact he reformulated bon monsieur and fougere l'aube this year for reasosn that look suspiciously like ifra compliance
>>17257171no. none in the box, none on the outside of the bottle. just under the cap and bottle top.
>>17257184damn you're right I just checked and it even says on his website
>>17257186>just under the cap and bottle top.Sounds like it might be an issue. I would go talk to the store and see if they will exchange it
>>17257040My bottle is fairly new and still strong and based.
>>17257144The profit margins are so insane on designer frags I doubt they would hesitate to just replace yours
>>17257144if you ordered it online, there's a chance they'll tell you to keep it/discard of it.if you got it in person, just go and exchange it.
Opinions on mon guerlain and/or ysl libre?
>>17257241Just get Adriana grande clouldI don't care if you don't like the celeb, it smells fucking good
>>17257241gf wears mon guerlain, I can't stop putting my nose up to her when she wears it. Its one of my favorite designer women's frags next to black opium, which she hates unfortunately.
>>17256832Lalique sent me a bunch of free shit when I emailed them (EU)

Does anyone have an alternative to Jo Malone Wood, Sage, Sea Salt that's not so expensive for not a lot of cologne that doesn't last that long?
>>17257290This was around when Black in White was released and I simply told them that I was interesting in sampling the fragrance as a customer before purchasing. They sent a real nice packaging for free.
>>17257053I should also add that Maruyama has a bit of a curry smell to it, so avoid if you don't want to smell like a pajeet (which I have no problem with)
>>17257288Based decision. It's on my full bottle list, certainly the best as well as most modern chypre out there, at least of those I've tried so far.
>>17257282What has LNDL to do with Encre Noire?
Just ordered samples of Invasion Barbare and Chypre Palatin. What will I think of it?
>>17257314IB: Airy lavender to me. Likeable and long-lasting, but very safe in my opinion. I'm sure someone in this world wears this to the office regularly. Not sure what type of person, though.Chypre Palatin: If you like chypres, this might easily place among your top positions. If you don't like chypres, you might still find something likeable in it. It's a very refined take on the classical chypre structure.
>>17257288Make sure you buy from the brands website so you can get the 5 free 8ml mini bottles
>>17256542I love kouros but i feel weird wearing it out and it also makes me sick to eat food wearing it lol

Hello friends, I would like to thank /frag/ and the chart in >>17256545 for helping me pick a frag. I sampled 2 dozen choices and think I want to start with CdG 2 Man and Chanel Pour Monsieur. Thank you for stopping me from smelling like shampoo or a mall.I do have a really dumb question though, when I looked up Chanel Pour Monsieur I see the EDT and EDP have different scent profiles on fragrantica…. Is there a difference in their composition or is this just people rating the two differently?
>>17257439yes, there is a difference. there is the original EDT in the slim bottle and the EDT concentree and EDP which have some differences to the original, most notably they add vanilla
>>17256788>>17256801Club De Nuit Limited EditionIt's by far the best take, But cost x3 as much as the EDT and rarer to find.
What are some good feminine winter fragrances? I'm looking for a gift and most of the feminine ones I've smelled are all light and summer oriented in my opinion.
>>17256542is picrel in op worth it? im divided in either getting it, CH bad boy or a perry ellis 360 black
Green irish tweed is such a good scent. Sharp-green and very clean, it stood the test of time. Cool Water is a different scent, it's like a watered down version of it and never nearly as good.
Any perfume that smells like pine tar shampoo?
>>17257811idk what pine tar smells like but Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache is the pine-iest fragrance that I know of. If only it didn't have such a repulsive, synthetic strawberry note it would actually be decent. CdG Hinoki is super pine-y as well and is actually worth checking out.
>>17257698Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait de Parfum.Unless you want to gift it to a chick you don't want to violently force yourself onto. In that case, get something else.
>>17257852I don't get the hype for this one, the spices smell like body odor and not the good kind
>>17257864If I find a girl that smells like BR540E from her natural body odor I will bring eugenics back and ensure all women are replaced by her.
>>17256788Esencia edp by Loewe. Aventus DNA but better imo. More mature and refined.

>>17257045I just got pardon and black afganoPardon is completely bizarre. Smells like a musty old jacket. Can’t even describe it well.Black afgano reminds me a lot of fucking fabulous.I’ve also recently tried carnal flower, portrait of a lady, and promise.Carnal flower being the best (but with poor performance), PoaL being a massive letdown and Promise being nauseating for the first 3 hours but actually decent in the drydown.Got some le labo and a penhaligon’s portrait set coming tomorrow.Honestly when I got into this the first two frags I got were BDC and Aventus. Both were good but Aventus blew my mind and my reasoning was “what are the odds that I just happened to pick the most amazing frag first? There are probably tons of amazing frags out there!”Next I got fucking fabulous which seemed to confirm my intuition that there were some really special, unique and pleasant frags to be found. But after that everything has been pretty much shit. This is a fun exercise but ultimately I’ll probably return to Aventus for SS and FF for FW.>>17257053I had heard good things about pardon so I got a bottle with my black afgano cause although I’m a richfag I hate paying for shipping. It’s a really weird frag. Finally, the god tier perfume has arrived. Time to put BI, the inferior Montabaco Intensivo, to rest.
>>17258010The BI marketing team has been dojnt yeoman’s work on this boardI salute you lads. Are you with a specific agency or are you just MTurk pajeets?Either way, hats off
>>17258012I’m intriguedA 4.6 on fragantica and that’s one hell of an ingredient list How come I’ve never heard of this?
>>17258023It’s a hidden, unshilled gem that should be protected at all cost. I highly recommend to sample it, the best of the best when you want a versatile but wearable, high quality fragrance.
>>17258010do you not own any other stuff? usually i wear a fragrance for a whole day and at the end i think about whether or not i would spray it again. for bi, the answer was no.
>>17258032I used to wear YSL la nuit a lot 10 years ago when it was actually good, afterwards I stuck to different YSL flasks out of stockhold syndrome. Trying to find something with good longetivity and sillage.
>>17256817Apsley is where it's at
>>17258031Also received Verano sample. Someone asked for a comparison between Montabaco Intensivo and Verano some threads back: the base is similar, but Montabaco Verano replaces the "airiness" of the Intensivo with a much more prominent suede combined with grapefruit - to my nose this combines to an almost honey-like note. I prefer Intensivo.
>>17258077Yeah I'm the one who asked for a comparison, thanks. I'll try Intensivo then but probably not Verano.
>>17257698oud satin moodlet the dance beginboth are rich, creamy, feminine, and sexy but not trashy.
What am I in for?
>>17258143chocolaty iris + vanilla + musk. one of the best floral / gourmand designers on the market
>>17258143The 5x champion of the fragrantica reader's choice awards in the "Best Men's Perfume of all time" category. In fact, the only champion in that category, no other fragrance has made the first place so far.In terms of the scent? Lipsticky iris blast in the opening with a nice powdery earthy-woody drydown. The iris doesn't go away but turns down two or three notches, cedar comes in. Only for the strongest and weakest of men, everyone inbetween would be better off with Sauvage. And I mean that in terms of body AND mind.
>>17258012>>17258023Interesting notes, need to try it. One first downside against Bois Imperial is the price. Bosi Imperial is niche quality for designer price. It's long lasting, pulls attention and compliments, boosts confidents, pleases the snob like me who searches for almost photorealistic woody fragrances.>>17258143Parfum>intense
>>17258143It’s easiest to describe with vibes. You’re at a gay bar wearing your sisters lipstick. Then you drink chocolate Schnaps and proceed to have sex with a musky smelling man.
>>17258143I like it but it has absolutely shitty longevity on me. Becomes a skin scent after 30 minutes
>>17258143It's nice, it's just that it have a note in I don't like, I think it's the pear note of the ambrette that becomes sickly sweet, can't really put my finger on it.

I'm only buying vintage frags to sample now. You never know what you're going to get with them, while I can pretty much predict what boring shit ill get with new frags
>>17258238impossible to quantify "gayness" in a fragrance. it's not very feminine, if that worries you. women don't seem to buy it, compared to other masculine fragrances. pic related, just some fragrances i picked from parfumo. mitsuoko and the shalimar extrait have even higher male ownership than shalimar. does that mean a girl wearing shalimar smells gay or masculine? not really, but that's just my opinion.
why do so many companies not send out samples anymore. seems kind of crazy. Just limit it to one per address or something idk

>>17258774Antaeus I don’t like at all.>>17258780Lapidus is good but doesn’t reach the heights of Kouros for me. Is fraicheur easy to get?
>>17258801>Is fraicheur easy to get?Eh, you need to keep an eye out fir deals. Thr vintage aftershave version is stronger then the modern kouros edt so that can be a cheaper way to get it.
>>17256542Can someone help me with lapidus black extreme batch? Is 12020 code 2012 or 2022? I own 2014 and 2016 ph and sport and they start with the year as 14f29 and 16xxx, so its actually 2012 or they recycled numbers?
>>17258543wrong, and they are very similar anyway.>>17258780just got my TLPH will review another day, but it's very different from Kouros, i don't get how so many people voted it on fragrantica, barely anything in common, totally different accords. One is sharply herbal, the other syroupy sweet>>17258847lmao I got my bottle of TLPH and now everyone popping up with it? I was in your same situation 10 minutes ago trying to find the code, it's hidden so well lol. It's on the bottom of the paper box, right below the TED LAPIDUS (r), it's basically invisible for me unless I shine it under direct light, you can feel it by passing a finger on it. It's like this: 20G15, 3rd place is always a letter. you are probably typing a 0 instead of an O or something like that. You can input it herehttps://www.checkfresh.com/ted-lapidus.htmlGood night Teddibro. Tomorrow I'm gonna wear TLPH for the first time in a packed morning commuter train, will be fun. And I demand an extensive review of the black extreme, ph and sport in case you haven't in the previous thread.
>>17258859>lmao I got my bottle of TLPH and now everyone popping up with it?Ive been thru 5 bottles of 2014 lapidus pour homme lmao. Black extreme just popped for good price but i never saw lapidus batch from 2019+
>>17258868well my bottle is from 2020, just bought it. Is this before that one IFRA thing?damn 4 bottles of TLPH, based stinky motherfucker. I'll try 3 sprays like people recommend tomorrow, see how it goes. Not sure I like it yet, will let it grow on me a little before judging
>>17258874I also used like 2 100ml bottles of 80s and 90s Kouros, one 2017 and my 2020 100ml kouros is at 20ml now lmao. Never smelled lapidus black extreme tho
>>17258859>It's like this: 20G15, 3rd place is always a letter. you are probably typing a 0 instead of an O or something like that. Thanks so much. So i really found a bargain 100ml black extreme from 2012 with 5 sprays missing lmao love you bro
>>17258888But it was released in 2015...
>>17258874>well my bottle is from 2020, just bought it. Is this before that one IFRA thing?Yeah, the reformulation thing was 2022, and it was actually an EU regulation and not an ifra rule change

anyone tried margiela coffee break?I like it but it's very weak, looking for a similar smell but stronger
>>17259536Smells like freshly crushed pepper corns for the first seconds, than it's similar to washing powder.Best pepper frag for me is still CdG Blackpepper.
>>17259574maybe Rochas Man?

>>17258884>>17258868can you describe kouros?
>>17256542What would a good fragrance be for rainy/stormy weather? Say its slightly humid too. I'm thinking maybe possibly jazz club could work. Any other recs?
my friend told me I smell weird, it's over
>>17259742i find it hard to describe. its something you really need to sample.sweet, bitter, sharp, crispmetallic, chemicalssterile but dirty, animalicearthy, herbal, musky, floral, mintysounds weird, but it just works.you'll either love it or hate it.
>>17259742imagine joey diaz goes into a toilet, then the toilet gets cleaned by specialists. thats the smell
>>17259742Sharp, piercing herbal scent, pissy and strong. Settles down as more aromatic. Smells very dated of course. Powerhouse. Definition of hit or miss.
>>17259737terrible recommendation but he's right about it smelling cheap and synthetic, that shit is fucking harsh

>>17259931layton is on par with arab clones when it comes to quality, which is dogshiteither you have objectively terrible taste or the pdm marketing team decided demi didn't do a good enough job shilling their frags
what do you guys think of aaron terrence hughes? gives valid opinions about fragrances? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lQVWwlzMIw
Give me a LOUD and sweet frag, but not too sweet like One Million.I want everyone in the room to be able to sniff me.
>>17260098Spicy, sweet, woody.2 Sprays is plenty.5 Sprays will punch everyone in the face.

BI unironically has too much projection. Not good for the workplace
>>17260187Least insecure Boisissy
>>17259742its like a thick musk with a smokiness running through it. hot skin. dirty clean. hard for me to wear it out but can't stop smelling it
>>17260148Damn, to be fair he really looks good for 47. Some of the best face work ive ever seen.
>>17260187You 100% need that projection to get the maximum out of the scent trail, scent DNA and confident booster. Nothing is worse than a scent that fade away after few minutes.Bois Imperial is the ultimate scent in all categories.
>>17256542In russian prison you don't eat bananas, because they look like a penis and that's considered gay, on 4chan you don't buy phantom frag, because it looks reddit and it's gay too
>>17260229I like scents with good longevity but intimate projection. I only want people close to me to be able to smell me, not coworkers from the other end of the room
>>17256542just show me everyday fragrance gibs, please
>>17260233Bois Imperial also behave like a molecule scent, it radiats when you're in motion. Nothing to worry, Bois Imperial is a acent that you can fully rely on. It's like you're going to church to find hope, after you spraying Bois Imperial it has a similar effect like you would active the immortel cheat in GTA.
>>17260098sauvage you mong
>>17256542I bought Bois Imperial and now my coworkers think I have weed on me. Thanks, /frag/!
>>17260187You sprayed too much. It's stronger than it lets on.
>>17260298I always spray only twice, once on each side of the neck.
>>17260301Oh wow! I had to put on 4 for anyone but me to notice. Might just be your skin.
Got my sample of BI in today from luckyscent along with Carved Oud, Reflection and Reflection 45. I'm not really fond of reflection and 45 they smell like oxi-clean. Carved oud smells great on paper, i'll have to try it on skin on a cool day soon. BI is surprisingly up my alley. The basil and patchouli smell like my childhood, kinda reminds me of my mom in a good way, unlike Sedley which I smelled and thought "this smells like the rosemary soap she uses, it's not something i can wear personally". might get a 10ml of BI to give a few wears soon.
>>17260342>The <meme scent> is surprisingly up my alleyIt's not surprising.
>>17260342Good to hear anon, Bois Imperial never fails to amaze the fragrance society.
>>17257045>>17257429I'm halfway through the rogue discovery set and I gotta say that anon was right, I have been bamboozled by Mr. Cross. So far these all smell dated (not in a good way), uninspired, and have piss poor performance. Reminds me of having to wait for my dad in country club locker rooms as a kid, surrounded naked, old protestants that sound like they're about to have a heart attack putting on pants. I'll stick to my TF and my CdG.
>>17260505>have piss poor performance.I got samples of a few of his frags a couple years ago. I didn't end up buying any but other than bon monsieur they all seemed to have good performance.I liked most of them (i like 80s frags) but never got around to buying a bottle so i guess i didn't find them that exciting
Frags for this feel?
>>17260539Aventus, Green Irish Tweed and Bois Imperial
>>17260516Maybe I didn't apply enough with the rollerball, but Tabac Vert, Mousse Illuminee, and Chypre Siam all became pretty much unnoticeable on my skin after a few hours. Even Derviche wasn't that great for an amber. I applied it at night and it was gone by the next morning, whereas it seems like Pardon and Black Orchid will continue strong into the next day.
Looking for a soft and attractive but not loud frag that's good for dates but also daily wearI'm the guy who gets terrible longevity out of DHI despite liking it, so something else than that please. My tastes are a bit all over the place, I like DHI but also ambery aromatic frags like LDDM, ozonic woody frags like kenzo homme parfum or fresh greens like GIT... As I said the only frags I really dislike are loud ones that project a lot, harsh eighties stuff, that kind of thing
>>17260564if you want something similar to DHI but with great longevity you could go for the Parfum... it lasts like two days on my skin
>>17260568I tried DHP but I didn't like it as much, it was too heavy.
Just got Leau dIssey. I don’t understand why this is so hyped. Just smells like some boring acqua di gio shit
Is anyone familiar with the house Folie a Plusiuers? They made an autogynephilia themed perfume a few years ago but its not on their website anymore and I want it because I'm a degenerate.
So i was reading that OG formulation of Aventus actually smelled oakmossy, smoky and fruity, is that true? If true, i might rethink my opinion on Aventus(atleast of the old formulation). CDNI, Hacivat, modern Aventus is just fruity, piercing plastic ambrox mix.
>>17260564you could try something from the Gentleman Givenchy line, also lots of good elegant iris frags in that lineThis is Him is a great scent too and not too expensive
>>17260615>So i was reading that OG formulation of Aventus actually smelled oakmossy, smoky and fruity, is that trueYup, and now people pay thousands for an old bottle from the right batchWho cares if it maybe used to smell good if the stuff in the bottle now is garbage?
>>17260615No, it pretty much smelled the same. All that talk of the old formula was better is just people being histers and nostalgia fags. Also reviewers damage controlling>oh you got one of the new bottles, that's why it doesn't smell anything like i described it, the old bottles are waaayy better bro.
>>17260615i have a newer bottle that smells very close to a really old bottle that i have. a nice balance of smokey, fruity, dry woody scents.the longevity of the new stuff is abysmal though. 2-3 hours max. dont think ill buy again.>hacivatits terrible. dry unripened fruit dragged thru musky ass earth. turns rancid in hot weather.
I live in canada and I'm trying to test Continuum TUMI out before dropping $130 on it, anyone know where i can test it out either online or in person?
Creating your own fragrances: y/n?
>>17256788Explorer is probably the best smelling alternative, the opening is not great (better than CDNIM) but the drydown is very nice. Perfect general frag you can wear whenever.CDNIM is like Aventus but extremely loud and not that smooth but really quite close otherwiseCedrat Boisee is slightly different, is much more musk heavy on my skin and a bit more sweet instead of smoky/spicy. I feel like I'm in Ayleid ruins from Oblivion when I wear this kek. Lasts forever and is a bit loud.Aventus is exactly as described, much smoother than all the other alternatives. My sample is from batch 21W01 and it lasted a good 12+ hours on me, and I could smell it after a shower too so it's still a pretty strong frag.
>>17260615Why hasn't a company put Aventus in a centrifuge and just cloned it?
>>17260728the arab clone houses like Armaf actually use specral imaging to analyze the exact chemical makeup of whatever they're cloningthat being said, they still need to bring the formula cost down and stuff, which is why clones rarely smell as good as the real stuff
>>17256766this some cult shit
/frag/ recommend me a rose scent that leans masculine, relatively mature (25+), and that has good projection and longevity.Already tried Baraonda, and as much as I like the rose in there, it's way too dirty to use anywhere but in Italy while dressing as a slimeball
>>17260869Flower Boy by roelen
>>17260869>>17260890Also maybe Broken Bouquet by RoelenRose de Taif by Perris Monte Carlo

>>17260869Maybe Noir de Noir? Its also a mature rose scent that's not skanky and leans masculine imo
What are some skanky masculine rose secnts, i want green metallic rose and filthy musk
Is there anything that smells like cedar, rosemary, and lilac?
>>17260869Bois Belize Intense. Starts strong dark tea note and then rose creeps in. Two sprays are plenty.
