Wear real animal musks, buy real sandalwood oils, experience real oud. All natural perfumes might be a meme but that doesn't mean natural ingredients cant be perfumes in their own right.

>>17170819Kouros. One spray on the chest under the shirt.
>>17170686Has CDG made a good scent since the early 2000s? I got a floriental sample, which was decent, it smells like a less sweet old Malaki but It wasn't that interesting. Garage I was excited about but it just smells like eucalyptus mentholated shit and no car smell. copper is fucking disgusting and smells like some frag from the 70s/80s that I tried before but I can't place it. B683 really does smell like Ganymede with more leather, which comes across as a muted shitty Ganymede to me. Encelade is pretty mediocre. It smells like horseradish a bit. ill stick to bois imperial.
What are some of your favorite Chanel fragrances?
>>17171085CEDAR AND PINE?
>>17171115Yeah idk there is two very piney tree notes and it fucks me up
>>17170801The original gourmand. Impressive, very nice. Copped a bottle from nordstrom rack at 44.99 recently, cheapest I've found it in a while, and it sold out before I had the sense to buy two. Tell me, do you see much stock of it anywhere you're at? I've seen it out of stock on fragrancenet and fragrancebuy, and it's 76$ on fragrancex. I'm trying to figure out if it's in the process of being cancelled, since it seems to be going up in price and disappearing from physical and online stores. Can't tell if L'oreal is just axing Mugler fragrances.

What fragrance goes best with this leather blazer?
>>17171207Everyone says 1881 is a nice bright green, and it’s cheap. I currently dont have a green. It’s a blind buy for me but just gonna go for it.Sung is interesting because I hear about so many different notes, and it’s purple and extremely cheap. I may swap it out for a travel spray of Dior Homme Intense because i feel like I’ll never wear it in reality
>>17171328Dior Homme intense is one of my favorites. I've never smelled Sung, so I can't tell you which is the better choice, but DHO is always a good choice.
>>17171353Thanks for the input. Is there any reason why Intense is nowhere to be found in real life??? Ive been to a bunch of department stores, talked to the Dior ladies and they all say there’s only Dior Homme and Dior Homme Sport. They tell me Intense isn’t a fragrance. Lmao. What the fuck? Is it only usually found in Europe or something? I feel like it’s something i should be able to sniff in person but cant find it anywhere. Same with YSL Tuxedo.

>>17170707I would, if they werent so hard to find, so expensive and impossible to sample for most of them. This is a capitalist world, and i am going to continue to buy my presampled and affordable brands from my local discounters and retailers. Also the whole "support local" or "support indie" rant, is often times from my experience chanted by people selling overpriced shit products.

>>17170707Reminder that this post is not part of the Fragrance General OP and only reflects the opinion of the schizo that posted it
>>17171363DHO is one of those fragrances that is immortal with perfume enthusiasts, but not as popular with the average consumer, as I understand it. Basically regular guys smell it at sephora and go "I don't think I could pull this off" or it simply doesn't appeal to them, and they get invictus, AdG, sauvage, flankers of the above, etc. instead. I don't say that as a knock against any of those, but it leads to Dior and the stores not bothering to stock it on the shelf, as the actual target demographic, fragheads, will buy DHO from fragrancenet anyways, ironically making it so the only place to buy it is from a discounter without a discount.
>>17170707Based and timely comeback
>>17171102I can’t decide if i prefer Bois Imperial or Ganymede. I feel like they share the same base while being two completely different fragrances. BI is warmer, darker and more comfy while Ganymede feels more luxurious, but colder and more sterile. Two of my current favorites right now.

>>17169945It was Lalique Pour Homme Lion.>>17170819New York Intense, despite home office today.>>17170921Why bother applying any sprays at all then?>>17171007I'm still fighting the discounter over the money. Had to resort to paypal buyer protection. They claimed the box was damaged (it wasn't), and despite neither the packaging of the frag itself or the bottle having any damage, they denied me a refund. The bottle was very obviously damaged from the factory (improperly sealed) and I ain't giving them the money for nothing.>>17171085I finished my Dior Sauvage sample yesterday (after hitting the gym). And by finishing I mean that I sprayed the entire sample on me, because Dior only puts like 10 sprays into a sample and I had used 2 to test the frag back in the day. No headaches (because fragrances only trigger migraines, but headaches from frags are entirely autosuggestion).>>17171115It's a synthetic pepper note, but don't tell him that.>>17171238You ever thought that maybe you don't like fragrances at all?>>17171247Metallic herbal freshness mixed with bright florals. This is the one fragrance to which I ascribe the "barbershop" label, in the high-end luxury way. People say that about many frags, but this is the one which makes you feel like a 200$ haircut and shave. No bananas (I hate bananas).>>17171363You might need higher-end frag stores for Dior stuff. It's basically entry-level niche quality, so regular Sephoras might not be keeping much stock besides the crowdpleasers from Dior.>>17171393Sampling is easily possible, but you have to pay for the samples. My local high-end frag store also mostly stocks the "faux-niche" stuff, making real niche entirely pay to play. Which is why I own many designers instead, since I can test them at the store.
>>17171500Does the discovery kit really not have Sartorial? That's disappointing.
>>17171528sadly not. Maybe you can get lucky and get it as a free sample from their frag discovery test, it gives you 3 free samples depending on your results
>>17171247Sharp piercing fresh barbershop. 90s masculine. I want to say it's like a proto-shower gel type of scent, but that may not be accurate.
>>17171446fuck, DHI I mean
What frag should I try if I like Old Spice Original deodorant? I don't usually wear a scent and women seem to prefer that, it would be cool to try something new though
>>17171393real niche is usually cheaper than fake niche though
>>17171143>Can't tell if L'oreal is just axing Mugler fragrancesthey are, they've discontinued most of the A*men line
>>17171571The perfume version?
>>17171485>Ganymede feels more luxuriousI'm looking for a frag that exudes luxury and elegance. A scent that would be appropriate to wear as a wealthy businessman or something along those lines
>>171713281881 is more floral than the accords on fragrantica would suggest. it is pretty great though
>>17171363yeah DHI is stocked everywhere aside from the USA for some reason, I guess it didn't sell well over there. I hear Dior Homme Parfum is even harder to find in the US
>>17171247fresh, herbal shaving soap
>>17171576maybe if you live in the right country, but for me there are cheaper fake niches in local discounters
>>17171525>It was Lalique Pour Homme Lionlmao, hard to guess by the commentsI guess I was somewhat close with Heritage though
>>17171578The deodorant, not sure if it's the same. I just dab it on my neck mixed with a bit of post workout sweat and usually get compliments
>>17171143>>17171577Confirming this. While stuff like Prada L'Homme Intense and YSL LNDL Bleu Electrique are still being made, the A*Men line is done for good. Everything is out of stock and never came back into stock, except for A*Men Ultimate (because nobody bought that, apparently) and some refill bottles. I have seen zero rebounds of stock since its alleged discontinuation and heard of no batch codes from 2022.The rumors have often been there in the past, but stock always came back up. Unless there is some very major supply chain fuckery going on which somehow currently affects ALL A*Men frags, there won't be any new batches.
>>17171578>>17171593I did try a bunch of scents in a store today, my girl went crazy for versace eros, but it feels too strong to me... I just want something that smells subtly masculine and enhances my natural scentGoogle says the deodorant is cloves and citrus btw, that sounds right to me
>>17170819Toni Gard True
>>17171596I emailed Mugler asking for samples of the A*men line, and they flat-out told me it's discontinued except for the original and Ultimate
>>17171485>>17171580Yes, Ganymede is literally luxury, the sprayer alone is so fucking good. Wide, alot of juice, very fine drizzle, combine it with the mineralic, slightly citrusy and woody opening, it's literally perfection.Bois Imperial is really good too. But Ganymede is a step up.
>>17171600nice dubs. How often have you had succes with asking for samples via email?
>>17171600Shame. But then again, people have asked the Prada customer service about L'Homme Intense and have also gotten the "discontinued" answer, yet it came back.Bet the L'Oreal margin calculations gave the desired results for those two, because otherwise I can't explain why they would keep Ultimate.
>>17171601Yeah, Bois Imperial isn’t as luxurious. It’s like Ganymede but made for pesants. I still really like it since it lacks the salty/minerally note of Ganymede which is find a bit off putting.
>>17171601Is there anything else than Ganymede you can recommend?
>>17171485I own both
>>17171500Any thoughts on their performance and longevity?
>>17171580I like Dior Homme Parfum as my go to elegant formal scent that's still easy to like. or Antaeus if you want to smell luxurious but dark, manly and not necessarily easy to like (doesn't smell like piss unlike what one inexperienced noselet here says, castoreum is more of a sweet musky leathery scent)
>>17171240>>Tobacco Vanille>>Eros EDT>>Oud Wood>>SpicebombHow about you leave your house for once and try them for free, incel?>>17171328Sung is way more wearable than DHI if you are not a femboy and want to smell masc but fresh instead of lipsticky and ready for anal sex>>17171525lmao based paypal connisseur. >>17171668Another anon here. Halfeti has crazy longevity, but sadly I find only its top notes to be quite appealing. The dry down gets heavy.
My work colleague yesterday told me that I smell really good and wanted to know what I was wearing. I told him it’s a secret because I don’t want him to get it. But he insisted I tell him so I told him. He told me it will make all the girls wild. My female colleague got really close to me and touched my arm, presumably because I smell good. After work I met with a friend for a cheeky beer, after we hugged to say goodbye (no homo), he told me I smell good.God I’m looking forward to Saturday evening like you wouldn’t believe it. I have a platonic date with a female friend that I haven’t seen in weeks. I have less than 1ml left of my 2ml sample so I’m saving it for Saturday. She and everybody within my immediate vicinity are in for a olfactory treat. I’m going to do 4 Sprays and maybe 2 cheeky Sprays as the evening progresses. This is the first time I’ve really been enthusiastic for a fragrance and the vibe. I feel genuinely happier because Bois Imperial makes people know me as that guy who smells amazing. I don’t see the fragrance becoming popular and I hope it doesn’t, because I like being unique. I have no problem talking about it here it won’t cause the fragrance to get popular.Im going to order a bottle from Douglas because I can pick it up within 2-3 days. But obviously I’m going to order it from their official website aswell so I can use the discount code from the discovery set.My fragrance journey has come to an end for the time being, I’m considering trying out a sample of Ganymede. It would be good on those days that I feel extra sassy and feel like giving people a full blown olfactory assault. So yeah, any bros out there who don’t collect perfume as their hobby and just wanna smell good and get compliments, just get Bois Imperial and call it a day. It’s a no brainer. Thank u for reading my autistic ramblings.

>>17171825No I enjoy living. Have you even tried Bois Imperial or Ganymede?
>>17171794>I don’t see the fragrance becoming popular>smells amazingYou can only pick one.But I agree, Bois Imperial is basically a modern Sauvage (EdT). Sprayed one on one arm, the other on the other, and then you will realize BI is basically Sauvage without the overly synthetic pepper note in the drydown. Never smelled so many similar notes in two fragrances without them being associated in any way. By winter, this will be the #1 clubbing fragrance.

COLOGNE SIPHON IDEASGood Evening Gentlemen. I'm thinking of creating some sort of cologne siphon similar to technology used during "Operation Baja Blast" (pic related) The overall goal would be to collect as much expensive cologne into a handful of 10-20ml atomizers or a few large bottles. Another idea would be to get atomizers with a quick fill feature on the bottom and try and quickly spray as much as I can into it before/without getting caught. And no, I will not "just buy the cologne"
>>17172060kek same here, but bois imperial is one of the GOAT fragrances
>>17172068you can return opened shit to Sephora and Macys dumbass. just buy it, decant it, then refill it with water and return.
>>17172068Yeah but please do it in silence and do not involve us in your stupidity. You should really try and figure out how many sprays you actually need to get to 10 mL to see why this is a stupid idea.

How do you ask popular houses for samples via email? Asking niche brands that you cant buy locally is pretty easy, but how do i explain to the dior customer service guy that i would rather get some of their samples, instead of just going to the local mall? Also b4 you say "just go to the local mall", i wanna try out more than just top notes, and the local shops are stingy with their samples.

>>17172674it's pretty nice IMO, unique yet inoffensive. maybe a little too minimalistic for me, I wonder if they'll fix that with a future flankerunripe banana opening, goes more into a "dried-out plants in the summer heat (maybe hay?)" with that warm, metallic "hot air from an iron" noteperformance is quite decent, much better than most warm weather designer frags. the scent is airy and transparent, but persists for many hours, I guess Sclarene is similar to Iso E in that wayI copped a decant myself because I could see getting bored with a full bottle, since it is a pretty simple frag despite its uniqueness. might still get one eventually, we'll see, maybe it'll be the one "le epic versatile mass-pleaser" in my collection, since I find most other frags in that category boring or outright vile
>>17171286Le Male
What are some frags that'll be nice to spray inside my boxing gloves after every gym or bag/mittwork session?
>>17172674lunapark-core. Absolutely laughable.Who the fuck in their right mind would want to smell like synthetic banana and iron?
>>17172713that sounds horrible
>>17172757eh, the appeal is similar to something like Molecule 01 IMO after the green banana top notes end, where it's a subtle abstract airy scent that's hard to describe. just happens to be more mineral / metallic rather than dry / woody like Iso E

The bois imperial chad vs the H24 faggot
>>17172793>the bois imperial schizo is also the anti-h24 posterthis would explain a lot
>>17172674It is weak. Good scent but very weak. Not worth until hits the 20€.
Yo wtf?
>>17172796im pretty sure its the same guy shilling both
>>17172799you sure you're not going anosmic? I get quite nice longevity on it actually

>>17172646>That one have nothing to do with the rest of the ADG line.yes, that's why it's good.
Newfag herei only have 3 fragrances that i've been gifted throughout the years, Kenneth Cole Signature, Armani Code and and I was recently gifted Blue De Chanel Parfum. I fucking love the smell of the Signature while Armani gives me a headache. my female friends agreed the Signature smelled the best so any recs on a similar smelling fragrance I could try out for date nights / nights out? 20 y/o in uni
>>17172842supposedly Nautica Voyage is somewhat similar to Signature, but I haven't smelled Signature, so I can't confirm it. Voyage is a very popular and well-received cheapie though
>>17172842azzaro chrome
>>17172842Bently for men intense, boozy spicy rich warm
>>17172842You are 20, buy a bottle of Phantom by Paco Rabanne and enjoy.Make sure to try it first you can find it in most many stores that sell fragrances. If you want to get all fancy try dior homme parfum
What is the absolute best fragrance for attracting women? Budget is not a factor. I've personally seen the most success with Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, but I'm open to hear what you guys think as well.

>>17171525Pls post results of the next Sung you buy.It looked like you got one with a generic atomizer and not the black square shaped one, which is weird. Did you get a tester?
>>17173062Not that anonOnly the vintage bottles have the integrated sprayer in the cap, the modern bottles have the removable cap with the standard crimped on atomizer
>>17173067Ah ok. That’s kind of a bummer
Have any of you actually tried Guerlain imperiale? How do you not know this is the best summer frag?
>>17170715Based. Love deer musk and sandalwood oil. Who’s your supplier? What’s the best value sandalwood oil?>>17170819Guerlain Jicky pdt then later applied Guerlain imperiale
if you could drink any fragrance, which would you drink? for me it’s either ultra male or pure malt

>>17173098>What’s the best value sandalwood oil?I dunno if i would call it the best value but this is the closeset you can get to what mysore sandalwood used to be when you still could get the good stuff easily. Its grown in Australia but unlike most of the Australian sandalwood which is a different variety than Indian sandalwood this plantation grows santalm albumBeautiful buttery goldhttps://www.edenbotanicals.com/sandalwood-plantation-grown.html
>>17173126Thanks fren.
>>17171851not worth it, honey in the opening and later some generic dated green soap>>17172599tried soleil blanc at douglas today, it's comfy but not for the price, similar with velvet orchid but this one is only for women imo, ive used lots of womens perfumes but this one is too much>>17172674no
>>17172552Sometimes I paintSometimes I turn it upside down and drag it across my skin
tried this on at the mall the other day, shocked by how much I liked it. only problem was it only lasted about two hours, thinking about copping it anyway and just using it for a date night frag.
>>17172285Pretty much a clone of Black Afgano
>>17173216It smells like an orange creamsicle and spices

>>17172477You know, i should head your warning, but i am going to waste my time trying the exact same thing. Also which country are you from? i've heard they only do samples for ceratin countries.
>>17173099Acqua di Gio or Dolce Gabanna pour Homme.
>>17173281Really want to try Plat Ego but cba to drive to a chanel storeHow does it smell? Whats the evolution of the scent for you?

>>17173593it's a really fresh, sharp herbal scent, sort of like some sort of refreshing shaving soap, with a base of sandalwood underneathessentially tries to do a similar thing to Drakkar Noir, but lighter, fresher and more modern
man, this shit hits really good on a rainy day... nicest bottle at the price too
>>17173748Longevity is homoass, though. Bought a recent bottle and sold it immediately
>>17172674Weak performance, nice start, sweet overly sweet gummy bear drydown, expensive
>>17172639Try Kenzo Intense 2021 instead
man why does this smell so good for fuck sake, can't get enough of it
Feeling kinda cute, going to wear Guerlain vetiver today
>>17173769Nah, Radish x Vetiver pulls it better off, anon
Hi /fa/, I have this I got as a gift like 10 years ago and never touched it. I have a formal event and I want to try some cologne. Which color should I pick? Im liking green, smells nostalgic like a 1990s country club but I also don't want to smell like an old person.
>>17173767idk. from my experience other people seem to like it too oddly enough, despite what the internet says. even my mom likes it lmao, and she tends to hate anything too challenging
What do you guya think about this, anyone have any experience with it?Should i cop?
>>17173811I like the green but haven’t tried the others. Green is formal enough too

Marbert Homme arrived today.Sprayed it on my wrist and immediately got greeted by the familiar smell of a classic chypre fragrance, with vanilla on top. This was apparently released in 2012. Polge straight up copied this in 2016 and released it as "Pour Monsieur Eau de Parfum", because it's what this smells like. The budget version of Pour Monsieur EdP, or at least the inspiration for it. Like someone told Polge to take Marbert Homme and make it smell more expensive. Immediately went to fragrantica to see the "reminds me of"-section, but no PM EdP to be found. Instead, I looked in the reviews and found confirmation. This isn't "One Man Show". Fragrantica must be reviewing a similar fragrance from Marbert, or vintage versions or whatever. If you want PM EdP on a budget or a classic vanilla chypre, Marbert Homme might be for you. Since I got it for 8.49€, this will stay in my collection. As for similarities to Hattric Aftershave, there are none.Useless trivia: I drove past the original Marbert company many times.
>>17170819Zaharoff pour homme
>>17170843just watched a video called "can you find the Axe", where people blind-smelled frags and one of them was Axe. most people thought it was this one. take that however you will.
>>17173905might have been the edt, tho
>>17173892thanks, sounds interesting
>>17170874Eau des Baux and Dior Homme Intense are nice if you want this kind of sweet fragrance, but more classy and expensive smellingthe original Le Male is also a bit similar to Eros, but better
it really does
buy sycamore, ya mook
>>17173892> As for similarities to Hattric Aftershave, there are none. Thanks for following up. Still may buy a bottle on my next travels to Germany.

Samples.M7 Oud Absolu - appallingTerre d'Hermes - nahEncre Noire - nahAlien Man - nahBlack Afgano - sickeningWell that was a nice little odour adventure, wasn't it?
>>17173606>it smells like the desertit most certainly does not
>>17173824It's a good unisex spring/summer choice outside of your typical freshies. Projection isn't crazy but it lasts on your skin for most of the day.
>order a few samples>forget about them>they arrive 3 months later>no longer interested in themt-thanks
>>17173972>Terre d'Hermes - nah>Encre Noire - nah>Alien Man - nahWhy is that? Could you describe what you did/didn't like?
>>17170819Went with Jazz Club for the first time in ages since the rain was pouring and it was rather chilly.I think it's a really pleasant fragrance, so I am really quite confused as to why people on /frag/ seem to dislike it. Is it like with PdM where you just find it overpriced, or do you genuinely dislike it?
>>17173972>Terre d'Hermes - nahi'm interested about this one. why nah?
>>17173926You should, if you like chypres. It's still a good fragrance. It feels a bit spicier in the drydown than Pour Monsieur EdP, while PM EdP retains more of that lemon vibe. Now in the late drydown PM EdP is certainly a lot smoother, but these two fragrances are divided by >80€ (71.99€ for the PM EdP 75 mL, so 96€/100 mL, 8,49€ for MH 100 mL). Someone who's out for a budget chypre could make a steal here. I do not regret that blind-buy, although I was hoping for Hattric.
>>17173972I guess you just don't like dark woody frags
>>17173767anyone know where i can sample this in the US?
>>17174021>>17174032Terre d'Hermes - Soured old vermouth, lemon(?), fucking sauerkraut. It's a bit oceanic beneath the sourness. Overtly masculine but in a gay way. It's a familiar fragrance: sometimes I can smell blokes wearing this or something very similar, especially in sunny weather - and I don't like it.Alien Man - "What if we tried to recreate a 90s Lynx scent and threw some leather in there?"Encre Noire - Myrrh, frankincense, rosin - all nice things, but I don't find this combination very nice. I expected complex earthiness but I don't get it. There is some "middle-class grandma perfume" in there. This is probably what Morrissey smells like in his old age.
>>17174156>>17173972I wonder what frags you like. most people don't seem to mind woody frags like TdH or EN
>>17174078I haven't found anyone selling samples in the us, not even decants from some guy on ebay. It's really annoying. I just blind bought a bottle and loved it but i wouldn't recommend that for most peope. My friend ended up buying a vintage sample vial on ebay for $20 just so he could try it.
>>17170686Maison Martin Margiela Music Festival is pretty much just fucking patchouli. I hate when fags look at the notes and say they can smell apple rind and cannabis. Its just patchouli. ELDO Fat Electrician smells like the flattest plasticy vetiver. It reminds me of the topical medicine I gave my dog for fleas.
so how do i avoid nose blindness?should i avoid sniffing it right after spraying and wait until it dries?
Rec me more tonicy/cucumbery niche frags brosi loved my sample of pic related but it's disgustingly overpriced
>>17171191so far it just smells like old lady shit you motherfucker lol
>>17174187It's mostly genetics, there isn't really much you can do about it but i guess not sticking your face in it right when you spray it on might help some.
>>17174191Toy BoySantal 33Kenzo Homme Eau de Toilette Intense Kenzo (the new version in the tall round bamboo bottle)
what notes do you guys enjoy in daytime hot weather? i tend to dislike citrus mainly because of the longevity, but im not sure what else really works in those temps.maybe soaps or florals?
>>17174221Soaps, rose - oud fragrances, honey, patchouli, neroli, woods
Frags to layer Ombre Leather Parfum with?
>>17174191A Better Man by Toni Gard
>>17172674Didn't like the opening at all, drydown was nice. Not quite worth the price even though I did get some very positive feedback
is this stuff good?
>>17174181Fat Electrician is a bit better now but its just straight iso-e super like encre noire
Sick of wearing aquatics to the club guys, I need to pull out the big boys, tuscan leather. I need the sex. It's still a bit warm weather though. But I need the sex.
