Newfriends, this is the BI shill.
Just ignore him and his threads, you can recognize them by how they're made before the in-use thread reaches 310 replies and the picture, usually a stock one from the manufacturer, of the same frag every time.

Got a sample of this, and I cannot stand it.
There's something that smells very sour and like urine. I'm not sure what it is, but it's unberable to me, and it just keeps going throughout the entire duration.

I have the same problem with Laudano Nero from Tiziana Terenzi
Can anyone help me identify the scent, so I can avoid it at all cost in the future?

What frags for you invoke a feeling of liminal space? For me it's vintage Fahrenheit, Kouros to some degree with it's spacious expansive incensy vibe, and most notably Ocean Rain with it's frozen ozonic floral demeanor, it feels truly frozen in between realities.

Probably something like Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Giorgio Beverly Hills for men, CK Obsession, Azzaro Pour Homme or Antaeus Pour Homme. Maybe even Drakkar Noir. Cheapies like Brut and Jovan Musk were popular too.
If I had to pick one it'd be Antaeus PH but I wouldn't wear it in the summer heat

If she likes sweet as in candy, Mancera Instant Crush is a better version of Cloud without the weird dental paste note, but for about twice the price.

If she likes sweet as in fruity, try Lancome La Nuit Tresor.

If she likes sweet as in chocolate/vanilla, try CH Good Girl.

What's everyone been shilling lately? Arab clone houses? Overpriced luxury brands? Weather is getting cold and we need to change it up. I've been wearing Dior Fahrenheit. Pretty unique fragrance I didn't like it at first but have really warmed up to it. It does require some confidence to pull off because the fragrance does have a strong personality, someone who drives a fast car and wears a leather jacket
>>
>>16642413
I keep wondering, is that pronounced /ˈsʌŋ/, /ˈzʌŋ/ or /ˈzuŋ/?
>>
>>16642867
Fahrenheit is pretty close to a signature scent for me. I own a 2004 bottle as well as one from 2019, very unique indeed. The violet is top tier and after smelling it I don’t want to try any other violet based frags because Dior kills the competition.

I found an older bottle of Gucci Guilty Intense and I've been wearing that after I shower. It's a decent fragrance despite some of the other generic releases in the Guilty line. It has a slight earthiness that helps set it apart.
>>
>>16642937
You should also take these with a grain of salt because for a lot of people on these perfume forums anything that doesn't make you smell from 5 miles away is "weak". They don't seem to get the concept that in some environments it's not appropriate to smell like a French prostitute.
>>
>>16642359
I prefer the non-antitranspirant Nivea Fresh Active.
Lasts easily through the day and barely has any scent of its own.
Will check it out for days where I could be using an anti-transpirant, though (basically just summer when not working out).

Then again the scent of Aventus is easily copied and most clones only get the pineapple wrong, but they probably don't care for it.

SOTD:
Le Male Le Parfum, because home office and I didn't go to clubs during the pandemic so I haven't smelled it in a while.
>>
>>16642359
Bruh when I first tried an aventus clone the smell was so familiar to me, and I couldn’t figure out where from. Then I realized that the cheap shower body wash I use literally smells identical to the smoky birch drydown

I heard Al Haramain Oud Tobacco edition is 98% just like TF TV but better (More lasting and Stronger)

Can any1 confirm? I might buy it 2day based on your recs
>>
>>16642357
looking at the current flow chart those options are not very clear at all
you mean that your ideal flow chart would start from, say, current frags and then go from there to antique frags?
if that's the case then the only layout that makes sense for a flow chart meant to help out newfriends goes from popular frags that are easy to find and smell in stores, say Sauvage/BdC, AdG, TdH, Spicebomb, Dior Homme... and goes to less well known, more niche frags
pretty much like it's organized now
>>
>>16643111
I cannot confirm Oud Tobacco directly, but Detour Noir is PdM Layton in better and L'Aventure is Aventus without the pineapple, both from Al-Haramain, so they are usually on point in terms of scent and L/S.

>>16642867
Arab clone houses.
>>

>>16642867
the only frag being shilled recently is Bois Imperial, everyone else just pushes frags they like very openly, like the guy with the Kouros collection, and a few anons were talking about Al Haramain Aber Oud in whatever edition, that's probably a good scent to wear in the cold
>someone who drives a fast car and wears a leather jacket will probably have a strong personality
are you pulling my leg anon?
>>
>>16643111

>>
>>16642867
>>16643119
I swear it's one fag shitting on the Arab clone houses because the Haramain and swiss arabian that I've tried have been as good as what they're cloning and had insane performance.
>>
>>16643111
All I smelled was the dried fruit. Is that what TV smells like? Also, the packaging is great
>>
>>16643128
It’s just coping aventus customers, and so on. They paid a large amount of money for a overhyped and currently underperforming product.
So they need to make their purchase seem worth it, and thus will seethe at the mention of any clone.
>>
>>16643127
Zara Rose Gourmand, 40 sprays.
>>
>>16643132
I completely ignore anything that they say has "aventus DNA," which seems to be so many of them. I've tried
>Shagaf Oud Abyad which is a resin bomb. its crazy it smells just like a bong stem after its been used for months
>Shagaf Oud Aswad choclately ambery rose. a bit mature to my nose
>Haramain Amber oud tobacco - Vanilla and dried fruit. I didn't love it and am not sure how TV smells
>Haramain Amber oud rouge - Super sugary. Smells like BR in the air, but strangely medicinal up close. Might pick up a whole bottle. Really reminds me of an updated Le Male/Ultra Male. I really don't like sweet frags, but FK is the king of them
>>
>>16643111
Own both, the dry down is exactly the same but Oud Tobacco is literally cloves instead of tobacco and maybe slightly fruitier than vanilla. All in all with the price difference go for Oud Tobacco imo, unless you really care about the first 15 minutes

I hate to be the dude who acts like a billionaire on 4chan but are you really broke enough that you can’t afford a bottle of perfume? It’s a couple hundred for something that will last you for a year or more. I have a distinctly middling income but fragrance has never been a financially damaging hobby for me. Buy what you actually want, and don’t waste money on blind buys.

I know “it smells the same” smell etcetc but you’re allowing dishonesty into your life- it seems inconsequential but it colours how you see yourself subconsciously
>>
>>16643191

There’s a difference between spending 300 dollars on a shit bottle and 300 dollars on a good bottle.
Creed is literally burning your money because the newer batches are complete trash, and are outperformed by arabshit.

Other expensive houses have similarly hit a wall of constant reformulation and weaksauce. For example Xerjoff, Amourage, Kilian and PdM.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t any expensive good houses. Tauer is for example worth the money. Jovoy, AdP as other examples

I hear a lot of Le Male, but not a lot of Le Male Le Parfum.
Put it on earlier today, and that stuff is strong and lasts long on me.
It reminds me of my first bottle of Le Male over a decade ago. The reformulations are certainly different.
Very linear, though, then again I don't mind that.

It's a Paco Rabanne 1 Million clone.
1 Million isn't bad by itself, but it is designed for only one thing: To be liked by as many people as possible.
It's the Toyota Camry of fragrances. You buy it new, show it to people and everybody says "nice car" - but then you vanish in traffic with it, because everybody drives a Camry.

heard laudamiel say in an interview that clothing is not only better at holding fragrance than skin (we knew this already) but it "diffuses" better on clothing than skin too, which i'm assuming meant develops/dries down more naturally and gradually. my life has been a lie this whole time. i thought skin was the intended/most natural medium for fragrance to develop, and i've actively avoided getting it in my clothes for years. why the FUCK are we not exclusively spraying it on clothing bros?

Versace PH is still king of the anytime, anywhere category. It's more self-assured than Prada L'Homme, with that great head-turning citrus opening, and more focused than Allure Homme Sport, whose peppery tonka bean drydown I've never been a fan of.

Only mark against it is the performance, but it's also the cheapest frag here, and you can easily buy a bigger bottle and make some decants.

Tried out a sample of Caron Third Man and I'm really impressed. I've got no particular fetish for vintage or 80s frags, I just really like this scent's lavender/citrus combo, which doesn't feel dated or unwearable at all. I don't pick up any floor cleaner vibes from the citrus notes here either like I do in so many other frags, which is my litmus test for a quality scent. To me it smells like a more natural and better blended version of New York Intense, for a fraction of the price.
