I haven't heard much about people having issues with the elastic overstretching. Go for it, or look into Thursday. They're the only brand that would be as cheap.

They seem a bit too over the top for me, I was thinking something that was a bit more dress shoe looking but with work shoe soles. Also black, since brown would standout too much at work.

Cant really see much with this lighting. Also the laces are often so long on combat boots like this so you can wrap it around your ankle and tuck it in to the boot, just look it up on google

This style features hiker style lace hooks and stitching detail for a military inspired look you can pair with anything from jeans to chinos.
- Round toe
- Lace hooks
- Stitching detail
- Slim sole
- Texture tread
Inner: 100% Cow Leather; Insole: 100% Cow Leather; Upper: 100% Cow Leather; Sole: 85% Tunit, 15% Thermoplastic Rubber

sounds like a fake welt but real mystery meat leather and cobbled in Portugal
I mean you could do worse. likely fine if you're skint but dont expect 10 years

also loling at this
Do not wash
Do not bleach
Do not tumble dry
Do not iron
Do not dry clean

Opinion time here, boots that don’t serve a greater utility are kinda dumb and aren’t even very comfortable or fashionable.

I have boots for work, which I would never wear in public because they’re gross and don’t fit outfits very well. I have boots for hiking and hunting, which actually do look quite nice in the right fit, and then I have regular shoes for most fits. If you’re trying to go for a smart look why not wear a nice pair of boat shoes or loafers instead of clunky clown shoe boots?

I don’t even know what this means. Honestly most of you faggots will never pull off boots because you look completely out of place wearing boots, you have no tans, you’ve never actually worked in a pair of boots beyond breaking them in around the house. It’s just a bad look unless you actually look the part. Just wear normal shoes.
>>
>>16551805
>Boat Shoes and Loafers are s o y
This is an objectively bad take, wrong on so many levels. Wearing a pair of boots in an urban environment is the epitome of s o y.

>are s o y

I said it works for men that are skinny
bigboi needs big shoes

it also comes down to preference. some people dont like being ankesluts. some people like the feeling of taller shoes that hug your ankles

Looks fine to me.
Personally I'll never buy Alden ever again. Their quality control is the worst I've ever seen from supposedly high quality bookmaker
I got a pair that had abysmal QC so exchanged them and got a replacement boot that had QC problems as well. My wife's 100 dollar Doc Martens had better QC than my 575 dollar Alden's
Alden you are paying for the name and that's it. I can not recommend and will not be purchasing from them again. The the same price you get WAAAAY more bang for your buck with Whites (which I also own 2 pairs off so feel I have a somewhat valid opinion)
>>
>>16552018
No need, just go to a military base and find the store off base that sells the good boots.
When I was in the army you could get the crappy standard issue boots on post or go off post and get the cool "high speed" boots
>>
>>16551932
I've been playing around with the new carmina tool all afternoon. Unfortunately they don't let me use the last I want on the model I want. If you're gonna mix leathers I'd go with their balmoral model in pebble or suede

>>
>>16551915
Literally normal wingtip elements except for the mixed and matched textures. Fucking dumb fuck.
>>
>>16552115
I think so, yeah.
Of all my shoes, the Red Wings just feel the worst. I don't know how to describe it, there's just something missing from them that the others have. The Whites are built like absolute tanks, the fit is excellent and the quality was too, which is why I got another pair in a different leather. I figured why settle for a boot from another brand that may or may not be better when I already know the MP is a fantastic boot, so I got another so I could mix up colors and fits.
The Iron Rangers have a weird fit, they're very wide and they don't do narrow sizes. I'm sure i could have played around with going down sizes and up widths to get it right but why bother? The Iron Rangers feel like an entry level boot and the quality was what I'd expect from a boot in that tier.
The Whites are an entirely different beast. I am considering a pair of Nicks but probably Wescos next when the budget allows to see how other PNW boot brands compare because right now the Whites are king
Whites > Alden > Red Wing
>>
>>16552031

Some anon in the last boot thread posted this list, noting that it was their own but they had wide feet, and there are far more options for those with standard feet, which I have

What are the other options for service style boots, $200-$400?

> This is a list of service-boot-styled boots, however since I have wide feet, it's mainly just brands that offer wide sizes:

White's MP (also try Nick's)
Viberg service boot
Dayton service boot
Helm zind
Grant Stone diesel boot
Thursday president
Wesco Johannes
Allen Edmonds higgins mill
Oak Street field boot: not available in wide
Parkhurst Allen: not available in wide

>>
>>16552764
Take days off if you have to and wear thick socks. I just broke a pair in. After about 3 wears they felt less snug and more comfy around my feet. A few more after that and the insoles have started to form to the bottom of my feet. It helped that, after the first few wears of initial snugness, I went for a short hike in them. I find that sweating in them helps speed up the process a bit.

mink oil on new chromexcel y/n?
>>
>>16553514
NO
It'll darken the leather and clog the pores. Mink oil is great for outdoor work boot applications because it heavily conditions leather. But I seriously doubt you'll be putting those through enough abuse to justify mink oil.
Also, most leather is perfectly conditioned from the factory. I'd recommend conditioning with Lexol or Bick4 every 6 months at the most.

you clearly have something you're upset about but it's not this thread
the cheapest boot in here are Thursdays and that doesnt fit your complaint about fake leather. anyone who pops in to ask about random cheaper shoes gets told not to
I think you're looking for validation about your boots but nobody cares that you thrifted some paramemes and want to circlejerk about quality when everything talked about here is quality
your also talking about use but fail to understand that different uses exist and boots are designed for those uses. not everything needs to be a whites smokejumper

tl;dr solve your personal issues then come back when you can be normal
>>

were 30 dollars; full leather, even a meme top flap with two buckles
no fraying, the outsole was in great condition
You can get actual leather and built to last boots for less than 100$ in 2021
>your also talking about use but fail to understand that different uses exist and boots are designed for those uses
That was because the outsoles of a picture were all in absolute new condition. No wear no dirt. They were four pairs of boots with no wear on them. Their entire reason for being bought was to take pictures of them. That was my 'failure to use' comment

Wrong. Leather boots with the bottoms basically coated in rubber. Very long lasting; pic related is the previous version of the boot without the waterproofing coat
Very stiff sole, it's basically a rubber boot with leather accents at this point.

i got a pair with welt stitching so bad i literally just started laughing when i opened the box and saw them. didn't even put them on my feet just immediately emailed about an exchange. they welt stitching on one boot had 3 knots from where they stopped and started the welt stitcher and tied the stitches together, on one boot the welt thread was fuzzy and coming unraveled on on the bottom thread there was two different colors or thread because it took them multiple times to get the stitching done.
motherfuckers, it should be one and done with the welt stitcher. one row, one time and one spool of thread. not multiple goes, stitches tied together, coming unraveled and different colors.
got a new pair a week later with a crooked tongue and a lining that wasn't sewn very well.
i have given up on Alden and won't be buying from them or supporting them in any way again. which is a shame as i love their handsewn loafer and would kill for it in cordovan

Fidlock V-buckle. Not a common closure on boots but you see them a lot on “techwear” gear.

See I kinda like that, and I'm coming from a pair of Iron Rangers. The Thursday Captains feel al lot sleeker and dressier than my IRs

Wait, what the fuck. That shows up as 483 EUR for me.

Also, the nice Viberg style service boots aren't very cheap either. At least 300 USD from places like Grant Stone. Thursday a shit. If that's really 399 EUR for you, it's comparable to Red Wing's service boots price but much nicer.

not boots but I have a selected homme longsleeve and it's based, can't comment on their boots though

just google the boot followed by 'review' and go from there

in the same vein with my post, replay boots yay or nay?
