Should I try Bois Imperial?
OP, youre playing really stupid games that are completely obvious for everyone observing them. You should reassess your strategy really. Maybe actually try Bois Imperial and write a solid, comprehensive review of it, and if it’s good or not and achieves what it aims to instead of all that petty trolling? I think it would be way more productive as I’m reaching levels of second hand embarrassment seeing your activity that I were not aware exist.
Repost because I barely missed the new thread.I’m trying to decide between Spicebomb Extreme and Dior Homme Intense. They’re priced rather similar and perhaps my nose is broken but I felt they so smelled rather similar (with subtle, yet obvious differences, of course). Which one would you recommend if you only wanted to buy one of them? Which one is more versatile? I am planning to mostly use it as a winter fragrance but I guess you could pull of Dior Homme Intense in springtime as well
>>16486962You didn’t answer my question last time. Did Quentin Bisch fuck your mother or what’s your beef with Bois Imperial really?
>>16486962Just so very, very sad OP. Shameful and counter productive
You are out of your fucking mind lol. How fucking stupid do you have to be to think a small company out of Paris wants to market to a tiny community on a fringe website that no one in their right mind wants to be associated with. Unironically BI was one of the better discoveries I ever got from these threads. It’s a good time to leave now
Based GIF-anon: please make a new thread when the previous reaches the bump limit. Let’s save OP at least some embarrassment. SOTD: as a matter of fact Bois Imperial.
Kek I think that this thread is not really going according to OP’s plan
>>16486985Wait for the previous one to hit 310 and ignore this troll thread. It’ll become a burning dumpster in a second. It’s hard to explain to a newfag why this one was created but let’s say that some posters have rather severe mental issues. My advice would be to ignore it and come back to the previous one to get serious answers to your question.
Bois imperial. Need it or sneed it?
this will be probably my next purchase, its soo good
Message for the newfriends: /frag/ has been infested with a Bois Imperial shill and however many assblasted retards taking the piss, so be advised that any post about BI has a high chance of being shilling or a parody of shilling.Proceed at your own caution.
>>16487041thisno one cares about this retarded shilling / schizo drama except for the schizos / shillers themselves at this pointstop derailing the threads with this bullshit
I just ordered Versace The Dreamer because it was dirt cheap. What am I in for?
this is coming in the mail tomorrow.. what do i think of it?
Thoughts on Dua frags? Anyone with real experience?>>16486978Also who is dis
Got Giorgio for Men, was curious how it paired next to the classic women's frag which I also liked, but really nothing like it save for a slight honey note. Rose-patchouli fougere, really powerful orange opening but it's mellowed by warmer notes. It all comes together to create this woodsy "green" impression. Has a very friendly warmth to it that had me nostalgically yearning for something I couldn't pinpoint. Smells $100+ but nabbed for $16
>>16487059I’m genuinely interested in honest bois imperial reviews. I want a fresh woodsy everyday scent. This seems to fit the description. Ones that I have tried that I like are Terre de Hermès and grey Vetiver. I also like oud wood, royal oud, and London Burberry - but these seem like heavier scents.
>>16487239It’s most similar to Oud Wood on my skin. Although lighter and fresher
>>16487288Oud wood is my favorite I’ve tried to date.
>>16487239you could also try Dior Homme 2020 if you want a super non-offensive everyday wood fragrance. but I think TdH and Grey Vetiver have much more character and are more natural smelling
Any opinions on the current formulation of Bijan Men? I've seen it recommended here and it is pretty cheap so I might get a bottle
>>16487344Listed as a fougere but hits like an oriental. If you want something masculine, warm, and spicy, it's right up your alley.
>>16487313>Dior Homme 2020I also tried this and pic related. I thought 2020 smelled too sweet.
>>16487128>blind buying like a retardFirst 10 minutes: beautiful, sexy, wild, opulent, sunny, like literally the best stuff about Africa. After 10 minutes: it literally smells like someone has openly pooped in the room and then hid the smelly excrements somewhere hot and humid and undetectable.
Thinking of buying this bad boy, any tips on saving money on it?
>>16487517100% worth it. this thing lasts on me all day, and its one of my favorite scents ever
>>16487128I've been wanting to try it out too since it's so cheap and seems to be a pretty unique love or hate kind of frag
Is 100 ml bond no 9 scent of peace for 80$ worth it?
Anyone wear this before? I can get a bottle for like $30 but I have no idea what it smells like
>>16487471I don’t really get any sweetness at all from Dior 2020. If anything the original is more sweet and feminine than the new version. It’s heavy in iso e super similar to terre d’Hermès edt. I get smooth Woody cashmere. Are you sure you tried it? Kek
>>16487517I think Versace oud noir is better for the price IMO. More wearable, however you will not regret buying Oud Wood. TF is a great house, great frag.
>>16487128Clean, sharp tobacco, I wear it often as a dumb reach
Kenzo pour homme or encre noir sport? I need your help bros
>>16487567Trying it again. Opening isn’t bad, but it reminds me of fragrance a black person would use. I think the 540 might have been the sweeter fragrance I was thinking of.

Now that the dust has settled. Let’s talk about Bois imperial by Bisch. Need it or sneed it?
Which fragrance should I get? I am uncertain.
Anyone have pic related? What are your experience with it? I'm kinda intrigued by it.

Buying off Amazon... too much of a gamble?
>>16487899this >>16487908 is correct. >>1648792401 is a single compound, Iso E Super, a synthetic woody scent. You can buy this in massive quantities for very little money. That said, I have molecule 01 because I didn't want to gamble with the quality of chemicals I was buying off amazon or whatever and I like it a lot.
>>16488122But they don't even sell bois imperial.
>>16487517If you're looking to save money I've found that Versace Oud Noir is similar and much kess expensive

So I know I'll get meme'd on for this, but I just wanted to give my opinion since I myself got played by what I perceived to be genuine hype.Bois Impérial... I don't understand the schizos' insistence on posting about it in every thread, because honestly it isn't an extraordinarily remarkable scent. Other trends such as how gay Ultra Male is or how much of a sigma Kuoros will make you have a clear story and are understandable if you've put your nose to the scents. In a way I suppose the irrational spam of BI is tragic because the scent is snice. I'd never go as far as to call it a staple of my collection or pinnacle of perfumery, but nonetheless it's mischaracterized as something greater or worse purely because of spergism. All in all Bois Impérial is a fresh, woody and slightly juicy fragrance akin to Grey Vetiver that goes easier on the vetiver and its smokier facets, and relies more on basil and akigalawood to give it some effervescence. To me it's the definition of dumbreach without being too generic, so it's earned its spot in my collection. Nothing that so far has sparked any excitement, just "you smell nice", and sometimes that's enough.6/10 for me. Sneeding it.

>>16488320I'm not looking for a cologne per se. More of a room spray.
>>16488328What’s your dry fresh wood scent?
>>16488324 I kinda like how the basil is done in this one, but the more I wore it, the less I enjoyed the synthetic-ness of the wood. I dunno. I'm up in the air about ambrocenide/ambrofix and most of those artificial bases. when i wore it, it didnt grow on me like I expected, it started to gnaw at me. dumb reach is the pinnacle of boring in my mind when someone says that. the syntheticness of it is very apt in todays age when we are moving our consciousness willingly online and into digital realms. look at the new synth robot juice from paco, made for fake robot people in a fake robot world. inhuman, inanimate smelling, without soul and consciousness, npc juice

Amazigreen is ok but quite flat and the performance sucks. If you want something cheaper and green (but it’s not the main focus there) then maybe try Guerlain Eau de Guerlain. It’s a classic EdC with some elegant powdery and green undertones but it’s definitely not edgy if that’s what you’re after.>>16488829Essenza Nobile has some Nicolai frag 5ml decants for €6 or so. SOTD chanel antaeus againI noticed there is some base musk in this that takes a bit of effort to get off the skin, even 24hrs after application it takes an extra pass with soap in the shower to get it all off.Luckily it's a fantastic musky skin scent smell so it's pretty nice to have it hang around on the skin for so long.
SM water is such a disappointment, was expecting a refreshing, fruity and green frag but it's more of a sweet fruit punch with predominant blackcurrant.

>>16487239I didn't like it. I would say it is worth a sample tho. It's one of those scents where the dry down is very skin chemistry dependant. For some its a hidden gem; others (like me) its a culinary basil and vetiver mess.
>>16487517I would test it first. It smelled like urinal cakes on my skin.
>>16487843I like sauvage for fall when I want a nice people pleasing scent (office, family events, dates with gf). I would look for a nice sweet/vanilla/peppery night scent for more intimate settings like cozy nights with the gf. Spicememe extreme or burberry london are my go to's.

How many iterations of sample did you buy before buying a full bottle? If I buy more samples I will have spent $60 on samples. First samples I bought were outside my price range for a full bottle. Now I want to try similar perfumes that are less expensive. I suppose this is still better than blind buying and not liking it.
>>16489174I exclusively have blind bought everything i own. I'm 10 for 10 so far, just don't buy bad frags.
>>16489174Budget your frag spend. If it's $20 a week, that's $1k a year. Bear in mind that you only use 100 to 150ml of perfume per year, which at $1k would be high end niche at $8/ml. Personally I think you should only keep 5 years worth of perfume, so you would want to buy FB of something you would wear >20% of the time.

Thoughts on this? Got 1.5ml recently and wore it today. I really like it. The woody incense is so pleasant. The initial basil freshness turns to creamy incense and wood goodness after a while. Every time a got a whiff of it I buried my nose in my shirt to get some more. Super pleasant to smell imo. I think this could easily be unisex though. It's not strong or harsh or smoky. Should a male use Black Opium? It smells so good, but I don't want to look like a fag.
>>16489593>lookyou mean smell? Black Opium is just ok imo, it's got a coffee note that works well for it without becoming one of those grotesque coffee gourmands. It is a little on the sweeter, girlier side though, I don't think it deserves to be titled under the legacy of the original YSL Opium.
This stuff is so good!
>>16489517As I said, I'm a complete newb. I couldn't tell you one specific wood note from another. I don't have that experience with perfumes. To me as a novice it smells the way I described. A mild wood note with a stronger but still creamy and slightly sweet incense note on top. If you want to know which specific wood I smelled I couldn't tell you.
>>16489607Agreed if I had to choose just two bottles it would be Encre Noire and Sport. They have more depth than some niche stuff that I've tried and they both draw compliments without being loud or sweet.
>>16489593True faggotry is caring if other people think you're a fag. Just wear what you want. I personally don't like Opium or Black Opium on men or women but w/e
>>16489496Vintage bijan I smelled that once, it was nice. Kind of got scared away by reviews saying the performance is crap. Thoughts?
>>16489618it would benefit you to go to fragrantica for the frags you're familiar with to better know what notes are what
>>16489669Performance of the rose 31? I'm not going to lie, most of labo frags have really nice head notes but the performance isn't great. I'd say that the Rose is not dynamic at all really, it has a prominent Rose and cumin presence with some underlying woods, but there's no dynamism in how it wears. That said, these notes are super enjoyable to me and they linger a while on my skin, even more so on clothes. It's not strong, there's probably better roses out there. I really like Cartier's Declaration D'un Soir, it's a peppery rose but has a lot more going on than this. Cheaper too. If you're looking for something somewhat similar that performs better I'd check it out.
Where can i buy samples like of Tom Ford,Zoologist etc here in Europe? Please help
I accidentally posted this as thread. Does anyone has some experience with Uomo and Uomo Casual Life. Do they both smell like tiramisu? Which one do you prefer.
>>16489738How the fuck do you accidentally post a thread? Do you just smash your face into the keyboard and hope for the best?

Let's forget the memes for a moment. I'm actually considering ordering a sample of Bois Imperial just to find out what the fuss is about or if the fuss is even real. Is it worth it? Be honest.
>>16489846Indigo perfumery sells 2ml samples for cheap. Don’t blind buy a 10 without testing is first. I think it’s nice. Took me a few wearings before I came around to it. The opening is harsh and put me off, but it settles and smells really nice in the air after settling down.

>>16488860Rogue Perfumery Fougere L’Aube. It’s cheaper than GIT but does the job better in my view. Much more expensive than cool water but has more depth. You get what you pay for from Rogue

>>16488328Ormonde Jayne Ormonde ManRochas Moustache Chanel AntaeusYSL KourosMaitre Parfumeur et Gantier Iris Bleu Gris
>>16488328I would make Chanel Antaeus a priority--it smells luxe as fuck and is not dated at all. Possibly the best value I know of in perfumery ($100/100ml direct from Chanel). Also it looks like you're missing a proper patchouli-focused frag, which may or may not be something you're looking for, but if you are I would recommend either Santa Maria Novella Patchouli or Diptyque Tempo
>>16488500Yeah I was wondering this too. I have women's Opium EDT (current formulation), and it's absolutely unisex. Very curious to try Pour Homme and vintage formulations of the OG. If the current EDT is as good as it is, then I can hardly fathom how amazing those old bottles must be

WHats a fragrance that smells like fresh laundry? Specifically Tide. I basically want to smell like Tide. If Tide had a fragrance I'd 100% wear it every day. I know theres a lot of fragrances that are described as "fresh and soapy" but they dont smell like Tide..
>>16490218not sure about Tide but n. 19 has a very soapy flower smell imo, I can't say I found it appealing in any sense of the word but if you want a laundry smell you should check it out
>>16490218There’s scented oils out there
is there some fragrance with prevalent coffee notes?
>>16490090Vintage Opium is mostly the same, it has a slightly more intense spice accord to it, can't pinpoint it.. it mellows into much more of a sweeter incense mood than the new formulation does and almost kind of burns your skin when you apply it.
>>16490232thanks ill look into it. found some on etsy but i need to check reviews to see if they actually smell like it.
>>16489738Got the Casual Life sample and it's quite unremarkable. Starts of a bit like an air freshener in a cool water style, then becomes a generic ambroxan fagrance ala versace pour homme, but with some coffee that isn't really that forward. I'd use it if got it for free, but wouldn't spend anything on it
Heads up: Someone on eBay (seems like a reputable seller) is currently selling OG unopened Rive Gauche Pour Homme gift sets (125ml aluminum can of the fragrance plus 100ml of the body wash, plus a nice-looking travel case). List price is $200, and the seller accepted my offer of $180. Even for the full $200 it's an insane deal considering used bottles of just the fragrance routinely go for $250+. As of this post there are still 2 available, so get on it if you like this stuff as much as I do. Or fuck it, blind buy and then sell it for a profit if you don't like it
you're worse at this than the glowniggers somehow
A strange beast. On some days, it smells like sex on the beach. An icy calone and floral moss. On other days, it smells like scented odor-proof garbage bags full of banana peels sitting out in the hot sun all day. Truly a frag made by a dying 90 year old Frenchman

Just ordered samples of French Lover and Bois Imperial. I love woody frags that are fresh and/or aromatic with a bit of spice so I hope they won't disappoint.I've read enough about BI in recent threads but can anyone here tell me a bit about French Lover?
>>16489553They were frankly just shit quality. I’ve tested 50 or so of them and it was really taking some mental gymnastics to argue that they smell even remotely close to the OGs after the 5-15minutes mark or let alone good. >>16491767>it's either that or let the BI fag have his way.You must be braindead to believe that someone unironically tries to make a fragrance more likeable this way here. It’s obviously trolling by the schizo self-proclaimed “anti-BI-shill”. Just ignore his little pathetic games and go about the thread normally. He’s still incredible salty that people actually don’t care about his ramblings and bitching and talk about BI regardless. What a control freak
>>16491873This. It’s getting so boring to see him shitting thread after thread with his trolling, tl;dr butthurt posts and other whiny bullshit
>>16491873Again, I don't want to get dragged into it but I'll give you my two cents. I was in all these threads. I saw the initial BI posts where out of nowhere an anon started bragging about fucking models and pissing on them all thanks to BI. He did this completely unprompted and at the time no one was discussing Bois Imperial at all but him. I was there when he flipped his shit over some anime thing and filled up the thread ranting about it. And that's when this all started. And at this point I don't really care if its him or someone else doing this, it really doesn't make a difference. I'm sick of hearing about BI and just want to go back to normal. So you can rage about the "BI schizo" all you want, I don't care. It's irrelevant. The "Schizo" didn't start this and he didn't astroturf a frag, he annoyed everyone just as much as the original BI anon and that's enough. So it's time to ignore the BI thread and ALL Bois Imperial posts and go back to normal.
>>16491946>I saw the initial BI posts where out of nowhere an anon started bragging about fucking models and pissing on them all thanks to BI. He d8id this completely unprompted and at the time no one was discussing Bois Imperial at all but him. >>16491946>He did this completely unprompted and at the time no one was discussing Bois Imperial at all but him.I did write a few posts after getting my bottle before that.
For fucks sake their isn't a single /fa/ archive with working search, fuck this shizo faggot.bois imperial is /fragcore/ fuck off if you don't like it
>>16492000Dubs of truth. BI poster a samefag schizo confirmed.
>>16491970>>16491983This is an anonymous imageboard. There's no IDs. You can't say to a certainty who is making what posts. Samefagging happens regularly. And I'll say it again: I don't really care either way anymore. I just want to go back to normal. So if you want to talk about your magical panty dropper frag then make your own thread or go into the BI thread, I don't care. The majority of us are sick of all of it, shill or not, schizo or not, it doesn't matter. It's all annoying. Either way if what you are doing is derailing the thread then enough is enough
>>16492000Not really, but I see that you’re getting quite desperate due to the lack of arguments. That’s good. I’m going to recommend and talk about BI whenever I feel like it’s appropriate for the question or discussion. Go apply for a moderator position on reddit if you want to control what can and cannot be talked about.
>>16492013>I just want to go back to normalYou mean normal where a group of (probably like 5-10 people at this point) cannot talk or recc a fragrance they think is good or relevant just because some autistic manchild dislikes it? Maybe just tell your schizo buddy to stop trolling and post all these low quality shitposts. I’m sure the thread will be back to normal in no time.
Alright, thread made, here goes nothing.
>>16492013It seems like your emotions were really hurt. Are you the anime or schizo shitposter? I don’t see any other reason for such an emotional response to a group of people talking about a fragrance they like in a thread called Fragrance General. I’m pretty sure that I’ve been in this thread for longer than you, so let me remind you of a few things. You don’t own this thread just because you created a new thread for a few times. Your OCs are nice but don’t get ahead of yourself. There were handful of people doing it without any recognition for longer than you and there’ll be many more to come. Don’t worry about that. You don’t get to decide or moderate what can and cannot be discussed here.
>>16492026>>16492048You really are the samefag. The same long paragraph rants. The same "it's the schizo" argument. So there are multiple anons who are "organically" posting about BI yet you constantly complain about the one "schizo" posting against it. Get this through your head.
