It's turmeric + vetiver. Smells like a worse version of guerlain vetiver imo which is 10% of the price.

I'm off on holiday with some friends and some love interest is there. I want to find some inoffensive fragence just to smell good when about with friends. Nothing strong.
So far I found (and never sampled)
>Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Eau
>Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum
>Montblanc Explorer Eau De Parfum
>Dior Homme Cologne

I guess aswell I want to smell alright for the trip, is there a general on 4chan on anyboard for like basic hygiene and smelling good in general?
>>
Hi /frag/, I posted this in the old thread but it was unfortunately discontinued soon after.

I'm about to blind-buy a few samples and am wondering: are any of these redundant? Could some be swapped-out for other
fragrances I have not listed?

For reference, I am a 21-year-old male.

Here is my list:

Dior Ambre Nuit
Dior Homme Cologne 2013
Diptyque Tam Dao EDT
Frederic Malle L'Eau d'Hiver
Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur
Guerlain Heritage
Hermes Terre D'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche
Narciso Rodriguez For Him EDP Intense
Narciso Rodriguez For Him EDT
Prada Amber Pour Homme
Prada Infusion d'Homme

Thank you for your help :-)

Where are you going anon? I tested grey vetiver and like it. For general hygiene, scrub under your arms and private parts, put some witch hazel in a spray bottle and spray it under your arms and privates in place of deodorant. Drink lots of water, cut out sugary drinks.

Grey vetiver was as subtle and clean smelling of a perfume that I tested. Witch hazel spray under your arm is good for getting rid of BO and keeping it from coming on. NYC is an overpriced city full of soiboys. Should’ve picked anywhere else.

So I know I'll get meme'd on for this, but I just wanted to give my opinion since I myself got played by what I perceived to be genuine hype.

Bois Impérial... I don't understand the schizos' insistence on posting about it in every thread, because honestly it isn't an extraordinarily remarkable scent. Other trends such as how gay Ultra Male is or how much of a sigma Kuoros will make you have a clear story and are understandable if you've put your nose to the scents.

In a way I suppose the irrational spam of BI is tragic because the scent is snice. I'd never go as far as to call it a staple of my collection or pinnacle of perfumery, but nonetheless it's mischaracterized as something greater or worse purely because of spergism.

All in all Bois Impérial is a fresh, woody and slightly juicy fragrance akin to Grey Vetiver that goes easier on the vetiver and its smokier facets, and relies more on basil and akigalawood to give it some effervescence. To me it's the definition of dumbreach without being too generic, so it's earned its spot in my collection. Nothing that so far has sparked any excitement, just "you smell nice", and sometimes that's enough.

7/10 for me.
>>
>>16484353
Do the woody notes turn warm/creamy in the drydown? If so I might check it out.
>>
>>16484351
It is superb if the rubber note doesn't bother you, and you can accept the abysmal performance.
>>
>>16484217
>Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum
>Montblanc Explorer Eau De Parfum
yeah these two will do fine, very inoffensive everyday fragrances
grey vetiver is more classy - dry woody and earthy. good for formal occasions and work, but not everyone likes the earthiness of vetiver and IMO it's kind of cold and serious for everyday use
remember to always try before you buy. these are very popular fragrances so you should find them easily in local stores and test them out

frederic malle isn't really cheaper than tom ford
you should add encre noire sport, it's probably more similar to grey vetiver than normal encre noire
I'd say you can remove cartier declaration. I like it but it's not really similar to either of these perfumes
>>
>>16484367
In a sense it does mellow out, but it has some real longevity to it. I wouldn't say it turns creamy as much as juicy like I said; it retains freshness in a remarkable way and is definitely comfy for it. It's not really enveloping though as it stays airy.
>>
>>16484378
>grey vetiver is more classy - dry woody and earthy. good for formal occasions and work, but not everyone likes the earthiness of vetiver and IMO it's kind of cold and serious for everyday use
I disagree. It’s a clean earthy scent. Smells natural and is inoffensive. My wife found grey vetiver nice and green Irish tweed offensively sweet. Scent is subjective. Find something you like, if you have a significant other make sure she likes it too.
>>
>>16484371
>rubber note
There is none

>abysmal performance
All vetivers perform like crazy.
>>
>>16484381

Well Ganymede by the same perfumer is popular, although I hear the two are similar enough not to warrant owning both. From personal experience I felt it was close to Encre Noire Sport which is kind of a woody but fresher take on EN. The juiciness of the citrus in that one is close to the basil of BI, but I wouldn't call them dry.

Actually come think of it, Encre Noire A L'Extreme kind of matches your description more. Price is nice, although if you had the money Sycamore by Chanel is said to be better yet similar.
>>
>>16484391
Also as a heads up since you mentioned it, I got the sample pack from Essential Parfums which included Bois Impérial and several others. BI was the one that stood out to me but there was another nice vetiver based scent. Comes with a voucher for the same price as the discovery pack, so you don't stand to lose more than shipping costs.

It’s one of the best masculines from the line. Smells absolutely nothing like Guerlain vetiver or what else is being described by others who clearly haven’t worn it.

It smells like Angelica, Cedar, and Musk. Bourdon also created coolwater which is arguably the greatest influence on every current best seller designer frag.
>>
>>16484353
>Bois Impérial... I don't understand the schizos' insistence on posting about it in every thread
Anon, has Quentin Bisch fucked your mother or something? It’s not really posted that often and when it is then people say that it’s indeed a great, safe, crowd pleasing scent but nothing groundbreaking. So basically the content of your post minus you being hysterical.
>>
>>16484711
You clearly had no idea what you were doing it where to go if you only had bad food and thought it was a ghost town.

NYC is the most dense place in America most Michelin starred restaurants in the western world. Lower Manhattan has been absolutely packed for the last year
>>
>>16484353
What you’re describing is exactly why people like it.

When you try it up against a lot of the other dumb reaches here, you start to realize it’s a step above the others
>>
So now that the dust has settled can we agree that the first anon who posted about Bois Imperial, and unilaterally declared it /frag/ core was correct?
It's the perfect crowd pleasing mass appealing scent in like with current trends like Hermes h24 and Dior Homme 2020 except slightly more exciting and interesting.
>>
>>16484353
5.5/10 for me

Culinary basel smell that dried down into an unpleasant vetiver/basil combo. Their vetiver frag is much better imo. But I do think that their sample pack is worth a shot. It seems the dry down either goes the way I described or a fresh green vetiver with woody notes(what I was hoping for).

Its a skin chemistry russian roulette.
>>
>>16484847
Nyc is nice if you like overpriced items, faggots, Jews and diversity. I personally do not.
>>
>>16484853
ok Quentin, whatever you say
>>
>>16484853
Correct. And like every fragrance, it’s not going to please every single person. I think it is much better than H24 and Dior 2020
>>
>>16484857
The is is exactly why things should be sampled first. There’s no fragrance that works for everybody.

BI dries down to a creamy fresh wood on my skin. I barely get any vetiver.

I also thought Mon Vetiver was pretty nice.

>>
>>16484730
I wish I was more familiar with metallics, they sound really cool but I'm lost in that category. Closest I get to machiney/tech moods is iso E or heavy vinyl/ aldehydic notes... these all give off a "new piece of tech right out of the box" type of scent for me. So any Iso E-heavy frag really, I also just got Room 237 which on me starts out with some fresh greens but settles into a "fresh breeze blowing through a computer lab" kind of scent, or at least that's as best as I can describe it. That's apparently the "vinyl shower curtain" note.

Store them in a cool, dark place with low humidity. A cabinet, dresser drawer, closet shelf will work best.
Never leave them in direct sunlight or in hot, humid places. Think of them like bottles of wine. You wouldn't store your wine in the bathroom, don't do it to your frags either
>>
>>16485064
I honestly know of few explicit incense frags in that price range. I would recommend to cut your losses and pay double that for a bottle of CDG Avignon, which you will surely not be disappointed in.
Closest cheapies off the top of my head that I've tried would maybe be Estee Lauder Youth dew ("old person" frag that mellows into warm, spicey notes and incense compounds; has florals but it doesn't strike me as excessively flowery) or Peau de Pierre by Starck (earthy, smokey, kind of strange but I think it has an incense vibe).

Dua is a huge step down from armaf.
>Casino Elixir (BR540+aventus)
Just so you understand there is a guy buying premade BR540 clone perfume oil and aventus clone perfume oil both from one of the handful of companies that sell blended perfume oils. Then he is mixing those two perfume oils together, then mixing that with alcohol and bottling it.

where in the world do I buy Dua frags in Europe from?
I'm interested into the Viking and SMW clone but I can't find any discounter or even shady ebay seller carrying them, and if I buy them at full price from Dua's website they end up costing more than legit Creed sampler bottles per ml
>inb4 get the Creed sampler bottles
but I'm a cheap fuck, I can't bring myself to spend €100 for an ugly bottle filled with diluted smelly water

It's good. I have a huge monstera and like 5 philodendrons at home and this smells just like when I smell the leaves really up close or when I put leave shine on them, or at night after I water them a lot. Just green green green. There's grassy hints here and there, but it's mostly foliage.

>, I can't bring myself to spend €100 for an ugly bottle filled with diluted smelly water
Why the fuck would you buy diluted fragrances? What they hell are you doing? Just buy shit you can afford instead of getting fucking diluted testers or arab basement clones.
Creed is a fucking meme anyway.
>>
>>16485523
>don’t value his opinions too much
Neither do I, but I did when I started the journey and discovered quite a few snice frags through his channel. Now I'm advance enough that I don't give a shit what anyone thinks and willingly smell like shit, but still nice to watch him from time to time and his braphog wife that I want to titty-fuck and maybe cut her arms off and play with her blood.
>>
>>16485505
If you can't spend 100$ maybe this isn't for you? I sacrifice other hobbies and save money on other things so that I can spend money on smelly water. A full bottle of designer fragrance is usually 60-80$ at discount, same as a full price videogame.

dua is $45/60ml, plus you don't have to commit to 100 ml samples. If you get decants of Creed, they are ~$60/25ml, which is 60% more expensive than Dua.

Sure it's close, but there is a significant difference.

Eau de Cologne Imperiale from Guerlain
You can get one for about $35- $50 the cheapest i see right now are on ebay, it's in the same vein but with more premium ingredients and more natural flower extracts than 4711

Some other more pricey options
Acqua di Parma Colonia, this one tends towards $50-$60 a bottle, maybe worth it, it's up to you
Chanel Cologne, this is hundreds of dollars a bottle, made with a huge percentage of natural ingredients it's supposedly the best cologne on the market but hard to justify the price unless you are swimming in money.

You're claiming that it out of nowhere an anon took it on himself for no reason at all to start making up outrageous stories about BI just to personally fuck with innocent little you.
There's absolutely no reason to believe your retarded explanation. All it takes is the BI fag to start samefagging and accuse other anons of sabotaging him to throw everyone off.

Yeah I'm sure. I am very inexperienced with perfumes but I can read lol. At least I know now what direction to go in and to avoid things that are described as sweet or powdery in comments and reviews.

Accusations of shilling outside of certain political topics are always some manifestation of egomania
>i haven't heard of thing, i don't care about thing, therefore anyone talking about thing is a shill
I mean unless you honestly believe that people are being paid to make obviously ironic posts like

I don't really know what to tell you.
It's a constant move seen on every board that once an anon has decided something is being shilled and they are going to put a stop to it that the anon starts making fake over the top shill posts with the goal of annoying other posters so they too will call out the "obvious shilling"
The same anon has accused me of shilling dior homme 2020 for the outrageous crime of recommending it to people when they want suggestions for easy crowd pleasing woody scents.

NOOOOOOOOO YOU CANNOT DISCUSS AND GOD FORBID RECOMMEND A SMELLY WATER I DISLIKE IN MY THREAD THIS IS MY THREAD AND YOU MUST STOP RESPONDING TO MY RIDICULOUS POSTS FULL OF MADE UP CONSPIRACY THEORIES JUST ACCEPT THEM BECAUSE MY OPINION AS A PERSON WHO HAS NOT EVEN TRIED BI IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE ACCEPTED BY EVERYONE HERE FRAGRANCE GENERAL IS MY THREAD AND I DECIDE WHAT PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO LIKE AND TALK ABOUT HERE
Post your BI bottle/sample/travel spray with a timestamp nigger. I doubt you even tried it but regardless shitpost every thread with your schizo posts.
>>
>>16486729
I really enjoy it. I was unimpressed when I first sprayed but after a week of wearing, I really came around to it.

The opening can be kind of harsh, but it settles after half an hour or so and stays all day.

It’s still something that might now work for everyone, but I’d take a minute to form your opinion of it.
>>
>>16486664
I don’t really find them to be similar. I really disliked DH2020
>>
>>16486629
I always felt the original was really powdery and feminine. It was a nice scent, but not a way I desire to smell at all.

Glad I didn’t seek out bleu if it’s nearly the same.
>>
>>16486809
>It doesn't help that you keep making over the top fake shill posts because you think you are fighting some anti shilling cause.
Yup, I think you are correct. Almost every time someone actually recommends BI it’s done in a rather thoughtful way with cons and pros presented each time and the consensus of these ca. 10 people who have tried it here is obvious: a solid crowd pleasing fragrance that is not generic but also nothing to write home about if you’re after some truly niche experience. Basically a niche Sauvage. And then there are faggots who try to reach some critical mass of shilling by recommending it in the most ridiculous situations in an over the top manner.

I suggest trying The Musc by Essential Parfums is a Woody Floral Musk fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. The Musc was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Calice Becker. Try the discovery kit.
>>
The funny thing about the schizo’s activity is that he’s just cementing Bois Imperial in everyone’s mind here in the long run. This is a very new but solid fragrance that will defend itself easily and I’m sure gonna eventually become a /frag/-core. There are not so many so versatile, affordable fragrances like that in the overlap of designer and niche worlds. Very high scores of 8.3/10 on Parfumo and 4.29/5 on Fragrantica only confirm that it’s indeed a hidden gem that has lots of potential to blow up and not some meme “shilled” here by some group for no reason like he wants to portray it as. The best thing he could do is to hope that people will rather stop talking about it whatsoever (in a good or bad way). At this point with all of his posts it’s like a snowball rolling though and I think that more people will try it out of the sheer curiosity and then be surprised that it’s actually indeed good and not a meme. Such is a fate of midwit with some severe control issues. I’m gonna love seeing it.

I’m trying to decide between Spicebomb Extreme and Dior Homme Intense. They’re priced rather similar and perhaps my nose is broken but I felt they so smelled rather similar (with subtle, yet obvious differences, of course).

Which one would you recommend if you only wanted to buy one of them? Which one is more versatile? I am planning to mostly use it as a winter fragrance but I guess you could pull of Dior Homme Intense in springtime as well
>>

Yeah right. Try to see a psychologist. You really have some serious mental disorder to be so frustrated and invest tens of hours of your time at this point into some trolling and your “anti-BI-shill vendetta”. It’s not normal anon.
SOTD: actually Bois Imperial.

>>
>>16487055
It’s not going to blow up. This is a tiny community. It will take actual influencers to do that.

You are absolutely fucking retarded if you think there are actual shills here.
>>
>>16486982
The new dior is so fucking boring. It is a basic synthetic fruity + chocolate that dries down into wood.

Spicememe opens pretty synthetic/med harshness as well but dries down into a nice vanilla spice and leaves a intimate vanilla skin scent.

I would reccomend spicememe but try it first to make sure it doesn't give you headaches.
>>

Why is it that after only owning them for about a year some of my perfumes have gotten....spicier or louder from the initial spray?Am talking about YSL Y EDP,Dylan Blue and D&C light blue,I store them away from the sun in a wardrobe and I don't think they have gone bad, perhaps more potent but the first sprays are really overwhelming now compared to when I first bough them...It's just that it seems that one note stands out now more

You should give Bois Impérial By Quentin Bisch a try. I've heard good things. I would describe it asFreshly crushed and spicy Thai Basil leaves meet the sparkling peppery and grapefruit facets of Nepalese Timut Pepper absolute.A brilliant combination that contrasts perfectly with the bold woody signature of the fragrance.A green, rich and earthy Haitian Vetiver oil echoes with Georgywood – an exclusive molecule with powerful cedarwood tones. This vibrating woody association is illuminated by the sophisticated floralcy of Petalia.Majestic Akigalawood truly signs the fragrance. This exclusive natural ingredient is upcycled from Patchouli through a biotechnology process. Its unique spicy-woody character is enhanced by a rich Indonesian Patchouli oil and a powerful, sustainable note of Ambrofix.Eau de Parfum concentrated at 16% – Alcohol made of Beetroot – Without Coloring – 93% Natural – Unisex.

After 2 months of testing virtually every modern frag release I have come to a definitive top 3.

>TF ombré leather edp
>YSL Y le parfum
>Dior homme 2020

In that order. My girlfriend prefers these to almost every other frag I own outside of a few niche. I’ve also received quite a few compliments from strangers (men and women both) while at work and and bars, social events etc. if you’re looking for anything modern, I can’t suggest these 3 enough. Yes they’re mass appealing, very modern but they’re objectively good and very high quality. you’ll thoroughly enjoy wearing them.
>>
>>16487420
idk if I'd call ombre leather mass appealing, not everyone is into pungent leather and sweet flowers. it's definitely a very nice scent though
>>
>>16487420
I'll compliment men wearing any type of perfume, doesn't matter what it smells like to me. It's a good icebreaker for me to try and fuck them later.
>>
>>16487428
i guess not, but a lot of people really love it. Myself included, it’s the best leather frag available imo.

I really don't understand his Shilling for a reason other than schizophrenia. Like, really, what reason does he has to shill so fucking hard? I shill Frederich Malle here and there every once in a while because I work for the brand and need to build a customer base but got damn, I'm not annoying and I'm at least subtle on it (only shill the ones I actually enjoy) but the thing about BI is, do they even have a boutique? Never seen them at Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys... hell not even sure about the Scent Bar, so what's the point of the shill???

Also SOTD: Synthetic Jungle. Really guys, smells like a jungle. Well, the plants only.
>>
>>16488026
>I work for the brand
Holy shit, based. But doesn't that mean you work for Este Lauder not for FM?
>>

Why are people even replying to his thread? Is the average /frag/ user really that stupid?
>>
>>16487975
*cool water night dive
my bad
>>
>>16488026
I just assume that the BI fag is the same sperg that shows up every couple of months to try and derail the thread.
He's been known to impersonate the OP and other anons trying to turn one group against another, so pushing both sides against each other over a nothing frag like BI sounds just like his modus operandi
>>
>>16488036
I guess he's the new OP.
No one seems to really care one way or another
>>
>>16488030
No. The brand is owned by them but my contract is with Malle and only work for their Boutique. Rather not think of EL at all. And we're doing really bad after covid anyway so I've resorted to shilling sporadically on the sites I frequent every now and then.
>>16488044
I see. If I recall properly it all started when some /frag/got posted a Fumo doll and the BI shill went feral. But I assume he's been around for a while, that was just his awakening I guess. Either way, I'd recommend just to ignore the thread he make and wait for gif anon or nice anon to make another thread following this one.
