First for NYI
From last thread: Need a good cheap frag for my gf, bday is coming soon and budget is around $50. I want something that smells strong and sweet but not in a repulsive way, maybe boozy? she's autistic and extremely fucking stupid but that's not relevant I'm just ranting. The stuff she wears is Eden, Arizona, Cloud and Obsidian.
>>16377995Good work.Third for Christopher Sheldrake.
What does effay think of Brut?
>the sperg is now the new OP and no one caresThis'll end well
Got these today. Did anybody else not know about this White In Black release? Apparently it came out three months ago.Only tested Encre Noire and Extreme so far.Encre Noire:Well this was disappointing. For one I don't really smell it unless I borrow my nose in my elbow pit (maybe because of the tester atomizer?). But the smell reminds me of something from my childhood, not sure what. To me it's weirdly... spicy. Hela Curry Ketchup comes to mind, for people who know. I don't associate it with woods or damp earth like most people were saying. Maybe it'll grow on me since I hated TdH at first too, but ehh. It's very one note, no development. TdH is just better than this in every way, get that instead.4/10Encre Noire Extreme:This is better, but also underwhelming. The first minutes are interesting but all that just... disappears in a short time. The dry down is superior to Encre Noire, but it's mostly just smokey with nothing else, very one note. It doesn't have that spicy-ketchup note at least. I'd recommend this to try over Encre Noire for people on the fence.6/10Gonna test the other two tomorrow, I think I'm going to like them more.
>>16378015I didn’t care for Encre Noir or the Extreme flanker. Just my Personal taste, it’s a solid fragrance and has a lot of fans. I wish the scent clicked with me because the price is right.

What's the best petrichor fragrance
>>16378259I have heard that this one is pretty good, haven't tried it.https://phoenixartisanaccoutrements.com/collections/eau-de-parfum-edp/products/la-tierra-mojada-eau-de-parfum-return-of-a-phoenix-shaving-classic-petrichor
Lads, I have never bought a fragrance in my life. I simply just don’t want to smell bad and need 1 fragrance I can wear forever every day to help me smell good or at least normal. Research is telling me that dior sauvage toilet edition is a safe bet, so should I pull the trigger and spend like $150 for the big bottle to last forever?
>>16378297Personally didn't like it, but most girls love this frag. Kinda basic, but will suit your needs. As you've said, it's a safe bet
I bought some green tea showergel from The Body Shop since getting it on sale was enough in my basket for free shipping. What frags smell like that jasmine green tea scent?
>>16378297Get Versace pour homme
>>16378006I wear it. The aftershave, not the cologne.
>>16378297I kinda don't get why people think it's so versatile. It's loud as fuck, sure it's "fresh and clean" but it's got Atomic projection, i'd go for something a bit less abrasive like Profondo
I own ADG Profumo and my next frag will either be Allure Homme Sport or JPG Le Beau.Do I give Profondo a try before commiting?
>>16378332just buy windex and spritz yourself with that, same smell only cheaper
>>16378297No, don't get dior sauvage, it's a very strong loud scent.Get dior homme instead. And make sure you try it in a store before you buy.
>>16378125>Ngl your gf sounds pretty basedDo you really think that drinking water with every meal for a month just because she bought a fucking bottle of Jack and we can "only spend $50 a month on drinks" is based? Do you think living with someone thats too cheap to buy a bedframe but calls it "minimalistic" is based? Literally ALL her clothes are THRIFTED except for a Kate Spade dress I bought her. She doesn't even let me spend my own money without throwing a fit for fucks sake I took her to this French soup place in NYC and she got mad because the burger SHE ordered wasn't "as good as 5guys and double the price" yeah 5Guyes doesn't have FUCKING BISON BITCH. She has 3 perfumes and got all 3 of them at the discount aisle at Marshall's and 2 of them aren't even women's perfume. I know I'm ranting to strangers on the internet but God dammit if I didn't love her I'd left her a long time ago. I really feel like I don't love her sometimes. Being with her is so suffocating, not based at all. On a different note, SOTN: Silver Scent Pure.

>>16378239to me it opens with a bit of a metallic scent and lots of raspberry, and settles later into the smell of well-kept antique leathercertainly the most refined TF in my opinion, and worth smelling for the enthusiast crowd, but I don't find it to be particularly wearable

>>16378362That's annoying but at the same time pretty based, wife her and buy some farmland and start homesteading and make like 5 kids with her.

>>16378398She's in birth control because "it's free" with her insurance. Started taking it 2 months into the relationship when she realize condoms were "too expensive" and she used to fuck me like a semen demon, like literally I'm usually a top and she was always on top, then boom, birth control, now she only wants to fuck on very, very whacky times. >>16378404Lmao, told her about kids once, ONCE. She went on for 2 hours on how the only way she'd had a kid with anyone is if they're they're millionaire because she's not sending kids to school, too scared of indoctrination. I kind of agreed with her on the matter a bit but she over reacts. And I don't think I can become a millionaire so there's no kids if I stay with her. Another reason I should leave her.

>>16378571Yeah it's good, give it a shot, it's only like 24 euro on ebay, you might be able to find it cheaper. You can read some reviews herehttps://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/L-Erbolario/Ginepro-Nero-41163.html
>>16378586Just make sure you get the EdT and not the aftershave. The aftershave isint as strong or as long lasting
>>16377990These are the frags that I bought this week.Dior - Homme Intense; Maison Margiela - By the fireplace; D&G - The One Intense; Harry Lehmann - OudI REALLY like the Dior and MM, especially the smokiness of the MM. I'll probably return the D&G, I think it smells good, but it's just too sweet - I chose it over the EDP at first, because I prefered the more intense (hey that's why they call it that) vanilla and wood notes. There's a really good chance that none of you have heard of the last one as it's a very small, traditional perfumery; Their oud fragrance smells absolutely FANTASTIC, the oud works so well with the cinnamon and slight resinous notes, it also has some very slight hints of menthol, its performance is great, it's also very linear. Harry Lehmann make some great fragrances, the best part is that they are really cheap; you buy the fragrances by weight, you pay, at most, 7€ per 10ml and 2€-4€ for the flacon (I paid like 40€ for this miracle juice!)
>>16378637Return the one intense and get dior eau sauvage parfum instead.
>>16378650Is it significantly different to sauvage, because I have sauvageIs it just the "old" version of it?

Ok guys I'm a frag noob, I pulled the trigger on Versace pour Homme, YSL l'homme, and mont blanc explorer. So far YSL is my favorite but it goes away, I also realized I prefer EDP to EDT simply for the duration, will start going with EDP whenever I can.

>>16378015PART TWOOmbre Noire:This has that weird spice note of the original Encre Noire which I don't like. Supposedly this has no vetiver in it, so it's apparently something else? The notes other than that are pretty decent and it's not as boring as EN.5/10Lalique White In Black:Why is NO ONE talking about this? I know it's a recent release, but how long does it usually take for people to catch on to something new? This is by far my favorite of the samples, but I think for that same reason fans of Encre Noire might not like it (I don't know Laliques other their offerings like Lion, Equus etc, maybe they're on the sweeter side so those people might). It's a very pleasant, vanilla apple smell. The very second I put my nose on it a certain other fragrance immediately shot to mind - PDM Layton. It honestly feels like a clone but my nose is probably not sophisticated enough to tell apart the minute differences. The thing with this fragrance is, it's not cheap like Encre Noire. The cheapest retailer has it at 70€, some are even selling it at 100€ (125ml). I just put it on a bit ago so I can't comment on performance but some other reviews say it doesn't have great performance. Which begs the question, why buy this over Layton? You can pay a bit more and get the same smell together with fantastic performance. So I don't see a reason for its existence yet. For that reason my overall score is lower than what I would rate the scent alone. If it becomes cheaper in the future it might be a fantastic alternative for people who don't wanna spend the premium for PDM.Scent 8.5/10Overall 6.5/10
>>16379108>tfw currently have covid and lost my sense of smellMe too. Shit sucks, bruh. If you haven't had the Antibody Infusion yet I recommend it, it really helps with your recovery time. I'm going on a month now with covid and still haven't recovered my sense of smell, hopefully it'll come back soon
>>16379332>Why is NO ONE talking about this?Because it's a new release. Gonna look into it as I'm quite a fan of the original White. It's a great, affordable but unique aromatic-fresh frag.
>>16379156STANDING, ON THE EDGE
>>16379332Recent reviews of layton claims that it have gone to shit and don't last. Reformulated? Maybe just a bad batch?
>>16379391People say this about every fragrance, I wouldn't take it seriously. If you go to the fragrantica page the last few reviews all praise its performance still and are from a few days ago.
>>16379334>If you haven't had the Antibody Infusion yet I recommend it, it really helps with your recovery timeMy actual symptoms are so minor that I don’t think I’d really need it, it’s just the loss of my sense of smell that’s bothering me. Its really odd how it hasn’t affected my ability to taste though, since I would’ve assumed those senses are really bound up with each other.
>>16379332>Why is NO ONE talking about thisBecause new Laliques have very poor performance and they all boil down to boring ISO-E Super in the dry-down.
>>16379299>where the FUCK did you find an autistic and extremely stupid gfCollege. Was getting bullied and laughed at behind her back for having ADHD and not shutting the fuck up and my stupid ass thought it'd be a good idea to date her so my protective male instincts could shut the fuck up. Do NOT pick up autistic gfs! Worst mistake of my life.
This scent fucks. If you ever, like me, feel like wearing some Sauvage-sque crowdpleaser but don't want to smell of a fucking, synthetic shower gel then this is a fragrance for you. It sits perfectly somewhere between niche and designer (it was created by the same guy who composed Ganymede and B683) and I got plenty of compliments from it. The price is also amazing: 72,00€ for 100ml and sometimes you can get it even cheaper on sales.
>>16379332>PDM LaytonI someone wants Layton for cheap, he can try Boss Bottled EDP. At first they smell different, but the dry-down is almost identical. I compared them side by side on skin.
>>16379409>I someone*If someone
>>16379409>Boss Bottled EDPThis. Also Layton is damn fucking boring.
>>16379409It's Boss Bottled Intense that's similar to Layton, not the original. But it also doesn't have as good performance and Lalique is most likely higher quality, not to mention the Boss has been discontinued.
>>16379409PdM is garbage, designer clones presented as niche, and they are tryhard. Boss Bottled all day baby
>>16379419Better than Creed lol
just picked up YSL Opium EDPbloody fantastic, absolute contender for new daily.
>>16379409This. Layton is a clone in the first place, so why to bother with it.
>>16379408I'd be curious to give this a shot. Where did you get it and are there samples available?
>>16379396Could be a mix of old and new batches out there. Time will tell. Would be retarded of them to do that though since the performance would be the only thing justifying the price.
>>16379441You can get a sample or as little as 10ml from their official website. I myself got a decant on a local Facebook niche frag group.

Aight, so I know nothing about this shit, nor do I really care to become autistic about it. All I know is Voyage by Nautica is the kind of scent I want to be associated with. My concern is "fragrance clashing" or whatever it may be called. How do I avoid having my soap/shampoo scent from fighting with my cologne, or is that even really an issue?
>>16379495>get neutral smelling soaps, shampoos, and deodorants.
>>16379415>It's Boss Bottled IntenseNo, the new EDP
>>16379422you must be a fucking idiot or a contrarian to think this
>>16379500damn in that case I need to buy the EDP since Boss Intense just doesn't do it for me. Plus fuck PDM for their cuntish pricing
>>16379507>need to buy the EDPI actually never liked Bottled before this EDP, but I have got a Bottled Oud, which is a good designer oud. The EDP was really nice and sweet apple. I just had to buy it.
>>16378362Can't tell if you're doing a bit but you're hilarious and you should stay with her. Just move into the woods. She would make a good bushcraft survivalist wife. She has that inherent frugal survival gene. Use it your advantage. Life without electricity and running water. Give her 15 sons.

>>16379571Does it smell like poppers?
>>16379576Not sure what poppers smell like because I'm straight but it smells like a hypersexual 9/10 who will come home with u and steal your wallet
>>16379399Yeah, same here. No sense of smell, but I can still taste everything normally. And my symptoms were mild as well, but they didn't stay that way. I thought I could get over it myself like any old flu or cold, but it kept hanging on until it wore me down. 24 hours after that infusion and I felt like a different person. I still haven't regained my smell but otherwise I'm recovered from that nasty covid shit.

>>16379525How’s shaghaf oud? I am really craving a sweet girly oud scent. I also have oud noir in my eBay cart
>>16379518Snice collection anon, I like Bottled Oud too but it just doesn't suit the way I dress or present myself. I'm an autist who tries to tie their aesthetic into the scent I wear as cloesly as possible, purely to project an overall image but I digress.Maybe I'll get it in a couple years from now when I have a buzzcut and dress a little more relaxed
>>16379598100% clone of Interlude = White smoke of burning grass. It only has some nice top notes for the first 15 minutes, which the Interlude does not have.
>>16379601It is better to tie the scent to the weather. If it fits the weather, it will fit any outfit.Bottled oud was nice when it was hot outside, because it was less bitter.
>>16379604Have you ever tried the gold bottle?
>>16379607I'll give that a go and keep it in mind.SOTD: what remains from my sample of Reflection. Wonderful, but with my min wage wagecucking I can't justify a £135 bottle that I'll only use now and again sadly. Maybe if I work my way up the ladder...
>>16379501You're the one that's contrarian and calling a brand bad because it's popular lol. PdM is far, far superior to anything Creed puts out.
>>16379500No... the EDP is really bad. And has nothing to do with Layton. It's the Boss bottled intense.
>>16379621Parfums De Marly is the biggest joke fragrance house of all time. I laugh every time I see the “1743” imprinted on their bottles. They want to be Creed, but can barely make serviceable clones. Pitiful.
>>16379632Creed dreams at night to be even half as good. Literally all their fragrances have superior clones while there are no good substitues of PdMs stuff.
What is your favorite tobacco fragrance?
Any experience with Perfume Parlour? Trynna get some dupes of discontinued frags.
>>16379632I mean, for me personally both Creed and PdM are cringe. It's not like Creed didn't make their entire history up either. Both of these shit houses would give everything for a piece of Guerlain's heritage.

>>16379636Odin 11 semma
>>16379634You're in high school right? You’re aware your brand is a clone house that has existed since 2009? Parfums De Marly does only one thing better than Creed, astroturfing. They pay youtubers to shill their brand and have been caught at it.The scents themselves are exaggerated designer clones. No subtlety or creativity. Just loud cloying scents for teenagers.

>>16379655Yet there are no designers nearly as good. While there are 20 dollar dupes which are considered superior to Creeds recent batches, fucking hilarious.
>>16379646Based.I'll give Creed credit for using good raw naturals and nailing classic accords though. They are the king of Niche for that reason. And because of Aventus. PDM is an embarrasment.

>>16379669>Yes the single most popular fragrance ever is vomit inducingYou are having some delusions of grandeur. 0.0001% of population knows about the existence of Parfums de Marly. In West they literally target through YouTube the same audience who is googling "The best outfits to get laid", "how to improve my tinder profile", "most complimented fragrances" and some PUA bullshit: i.e. average Joes with no personality who can't really get laid but for god knows what reason believe that they should and think that spraying some overpriced smelly water recommended on youtube will help them achieve this goal. That's the target of PdM in the West. At least Creed targets nouveau riches instead of these insufferable egomaniacal incel types.

I don’t think anyone comes close at the momentTbf I'm pretty sure that Le Labo, Diptyque and Byredo are all way bigger than Creed right now. Thoughts on musc ravageur? Also considering grabbing a sample of portrait of a lady

>>16379864Describe your buys
>>16379571Just blind bought this as well for the poppers connotation and slick case, it's actually pretty nice, the purposeful vinyl/plastic note gives it a kind of weird addictive quality. I've done poppers a long time ago and the opening does kind of smell like Rush head cleaner.
>>16379864Good work, Baguette. What are your samples?
>>16379868>This is himSmells really similar to a Z&V shop which is okay since it's not a very widely known scent, a bit to peperry tho but the late incense and vanilla is nice, good thing it's cheap.>AvignonReally good when it was raining and the weather was cooler, smells like a cathedral.>Bleu de channelKinda boring and soapy, smells a bit like my barber shop or hair cutting salon or whatever it's called in english. Very versatile people aren't lying about that.>Pour un homme Smells like vanilla (musky) and then switch to lavender, absolutely fantastic, kinda creamy so it can become a bit cloying above 27 °C>Montblanc ExplorerBought it because of Aventus, i have no strong opinion on it, it's okay i guess>L'homme ideal coolStarts fresh with mint then some almond, i like it, it's my wear for tomorrow.

>>16380008It was counter culture back then because it was the opposite of how marketing said it was supposed to be done, wearing women’s fragrances isn’t fundamentally based. You have to think variable not constant.
>>16380055Lmao wrong, what is based is wearing what you want regardless of others. Gender is just one more variable that shouldn't matter to someone who isn't insecure in their tastes and presentation.
>>16380008Brando fucked anything with 2 legs and a hole. Including black men.
>>16380067Redditor tier grasp on the concept of based if you think you can be based by wearing some super normcore stuff like Sauvage, even it's not a bad frag.
>>16379772I have both of those. Musc Ravageur is one of the best ever, but get a reasonably sized sample. I had 2ml and liked it, but wasn’t blown away. A few months passed and I had a strange urge to go back to it. I got another sample and I just knew I had to buy it. Got 100ml and every time I wear it it’s like a special event.PoaL is also really, really good. Perhaps a little too jammy and powdery for some, and I think it definitely leans feminine, but not as much as some people suggest so you have to be comfortable wearing that kind of thing. It’s a modern masterpiece. Ropion and florals is a match made in heaven.
>>16380008Jicky and Mitsouko are better than most of todays crap>>16380011imagine thinking that you're more of a man if you wear something marketed as mens, lmao what an insecure loser, you obviously dont have a personality so you need to replace it with fragrance, thus unly mens fragrance being ok with you cause your fragile identity would be shattered if you wore anything marketed to women. real men wear what they like, while still being masculine and pulling it off

Speaking of women's perfume, I bought Clinique Aromatics Elixir a couple months ago (yes, because of the Perfume Nationalist). At first I thought it was just interesting, but after several weeks of semi-regular wear I can confirm that it is very addictive and borderline magical. Like a constantly morphing green forest floor with a soapy/floral background glow. I wore it during sex for the first time last night and my gf buried her head in my chest and remarked about how good I smelled (the only other frags to get a similar reaction are Guerlain Heritage and Opium EDT). Basically if you're at all interested in chypres or perfumes that expand your mind, you need to get a bottle Aromatics. I'm about to cop the lotion and body wash so I can dig further into this magic forest zone
