Any thoughts on this for daily wear? I've tried wearing my dad's old watches but the bracelets pinch my arm hair like crazy, so I've been looking around on and off for cheaper plastic band watches.
Is black a good color for a "one watch collection"? Would it be better to go for something with a metal case? Heard some guy on youtube say that beige/light brown was good cause it has less contrast with the skin. Would like to hear more theory regarding colors/shape.
This one seemed particularly good because of solar and being analog but lacking the seconds hand, so wouldn't have to get annoyed by the ticking at night. Just not quite sure what to think about the style.
Open for other suggestions.

You can swap bracelets for nylon/canvas/rubber/sillicone/leather straps you know. It's only an issue if the bracelet is integrated. Just check youtube on how to swap straps.

Nomos is cucked as can be. For the 3 watch collection, am I forbidden from owning a digital watch outside of the collection? Because that really changes things. A digital watch for exercise is a must.

With digital

>any small black casino digital with a stopwatch and countdown timer
>ALS Saxonia 219.026 with a brown and a black strap
>Explorer 36 mm

If you give me a digital watch outside the collection for free...

>ALS Saxonia 219.026 with the stock black strap
>VC Traditionelle 82172/000R-9888 in gold
>Explorer 36 mm

The explorer goes with everything. No sense in any GMT or dive or pilot. Just beat the Explorer into the ground every day and wear the Traditionelle with belts that have gold on them and the Saxonia with belts that have silver on them. Easy.

They make nice watches. Their leadership forces their employees to watch diversity re-education videos and one of their board members actively rallies against AfD under the company name. They’re outspoken leftist cucks.

>>
>>16110796

I literally said they make good watches. I choose to not support them because they’ll use my money to promote their idiocy.

>having a problem with me taking my money elsewhere

Why? Leftist love their cancel culture until it happens to them. I’m not even advocating their web hosting cancel their account, their CDN stop providing service, their payment gateway stop servicing them, and their bank stop providing banking services (like the left does). I’m just not buying their watches.
>>
>>16110798
>Funky dialed GS as third watch.
GS keeps tricking me somehow. I have bought four of them. Hi-beat auto, 9F quartz, Spring Drive, you name it.

Every time I wear it for a month and I'm fascinated by "Oh, it's so well-made" and then I sell it because, Zabastu-polishing memery aside, they're actually really poorly designed.
The bracelets are clunky and have no microadjustment. They're all several millimeters thicker than they have to be. They're just awkward and blocky. Completely devoid of any kind of elegance.

Anyone who doesnt believe in allowing unlimited third worlders into your country and paying for their subsistence with your tax money will be branded "far right". This is already happening in Germany. If you think that theyre going to stop, youre absolutely braindead.
>>
>>16110820
To each their own, but I personally wouldn't have any of those concerns with a GS.

Personally I don't really mind that their mechanical and spring drive models are a bit thick, and their quartz models aren't actually that thick.

Also, I already own a Seiko SDGM003 which has a similar bracelet design to GS with the two half-links, so I already know the bracelet will work fine on me as I had no issue sizing my SDGM003 to fit perfectly.

I've also always really enjoyed Grand Seiko's grammar of design house style, but again, that's a matter of personal taste.

Not the monied ones from the mainland though. A few years ago I had the misfortune of a job that lead me to have to rub shoulders with the upper upper middle class types that are buying all the luxury shit under the sun. They don't touch omega. I asked why and it's becaue they all knew they were made in china lol. Some of their families owned or they knew the owners of the factories making parts for "Swiss" watchmakers. Cases, dials, bracelets, movement parts, crystals, whole watches. It was rolex and up for these people only. Aspirational chink money abroad gets sucked into the swatch marketing for omega. The mainlanders with money know how it's all made for peanuts in their own country and thus avoid that shit like the plague. Swatch knee this and had to double down with opening boutiques there to try and turn the sentiment.

That guy is absolutely correct, though. These are basic market principles. The MSRP does not matter.

This happens in the car world as well, especially for limited run super/hyper cars

>Ferrari does a limited run vehicle
>offers it at “MSRP” to a preferred customer who have probably bought at least 5 Ferraris previous
>that very same car goes for 2-4x MSRP after a few years at auction with 5k miles

MSRP is not the market price. If you’re not willing to pay market price, don’t whine about not getting the item.

autowinders exist and are cheap (depending on what you buy)
but those are for automatic capable watches

theres no machine for manual handwinding watches. At least I have not seen one before.

there are winding tools to make it easier (useful for tiny/worn crowns)
>>
>>16110831
if only this were actually true, germany is no where near this based
>>
>>16111670
>watch with such a complication should be automatic
most watches with 'grand complications' are handwind only. The watch is often already very thick and adding a rotor on top would be too much/not possible

also, some of the point of having a HH watch is for the finishing and a rotor blocks that
>>
>>16111670
It's a big commitment yes, but usually their movements are very pretty (especially if combined with a chronograph) and naturally they want to show them off and the rotor gets in the way of that. A micro or peripheral rotor is a solution to that problem, but is hard to engineer i would imagine.
The problem is that they have to be set with pushers (or by manually advancing the time which is even worse) if you let them wind down, and that's a PITA, also frequent setting them can probably damage the movement after some time.

Maybe i should design and make one then. Shouldn't be that hard, just include a variable diameter gripper for the crown and make it programmable (how frequent the winding should be and how many turns) and include a nice stand and you're done. Hell i could probably make one out of Lego Mindstorms.

Tudor are painting themselves into a corner when people finally get tired of this endless vintage inspired bullshit they are only going to have 1 model
>>

But in general the principle is the same.
They look huge on paper, but the shroud adds very little in terms of visual size.
It's the diameter of the dial/crystal and the lug-to-lug that make a watch look big/small, and the Tunas are pretty small in those regards.

Is the watch community welcoming to women? Sometimes, but sometimes I think guys don't realize how un-friendly they can make a place. Every time someone posts a photo of a woman wearing a watch and a bunch of dudes comment "what watch?" you're creating an unwelcoming environment. Every time someone asks for suggestions for a watch for a woman and you ignore the requirements given to recommend an Apple Watch or quartz fashion watch, you're creating an unwelcoming environment.

Theres a few cases you can read about online about people wanting an older (as in >6 years) model maintained because some tubes have loosen and fallen out and cracked and ball hasn't been able to oblige since they don't keep the replacement dials of anything but the most current shit. Maybe if you got one of their more long standing model divers that rarely change their dial layout then you might be covered. You will never be a real woman. You have no womb, you have no ovaries, you have no eggs. You are a homosexual man twisted by drugs and surgery into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.

Men are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed men to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even trannies who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a man. Your bone structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk guy home with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected axe wound.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your birth name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a man is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably male.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

do you wear a watch when lounging at home ?

Have you ever actually seen one in person or tried one on? They feel cheap. They go on about the "beautiful movement" but truth is you'll look at that a handful of times and are stuck with the most boring dial day in and day out. The hands and cases are pretty bad imo. And the lugs are ridiculous.
Typical german cuckoldry of their management aside, the watches themselves have been hyped up way too much in recent years. Mind you little of what's available at the same price point is any much better.
>tetra
Why.
A Reverso, tank or even some Franck Muller curvex style shitter are better than a square.

When a US watchmaker goes out of business with the rest of its contemporaries more than half a century ago and then resurfaces as a "swiss" watchmaker owned by a chinese venture capilatist group is it really the same shit?
It's claim is even more tenuous and flimsy than Hamilton's is. Americans will still fall for the marketing though because of
>muh heritage

I don't get the hype for Nomos at all... first time I saw one I thought they were a brand watch like mvmt or DW or whatever..
>>

>same price point
Nomos shit is selling for chump change on the bay
Think the lowest I've seen was in the 300€ range for a 3k list price watch

Mosso dangerously based.

Good one. Bought one for my brother and it looks great and wears larger than you'd expect from a 35mm watch because the dial is big. Oldschool looks without the hassle of vintage watches.
