Any thoughts on this for daily wear? I've tried wearing my dad's old watches but the bracelets pinch my arm hair like crazy, so I've been looking around on and off for cheaper plastic band watches. Is black a good color for a "one watch collection"? Would it be better to go for something with a metal case? Heard some guy on youtube say that beige/light brown was good cause it has less contrast with the skin. Would like to hear more theory regarding colors/shape.This one seemed particularly good because of solar and being analog but lacking the seconds hand, so wouldn't have to get annoyed by the ticking at night. Just not quite sure what to think about the style.Open for other suggestions.
>>16110705>stopwatch>countdown>dual time>100m WR>solar>quartzthese are great watches, better than every rolex
>>16110705You can swap bracelets for nylon/canvas/rubber/sillicone/leather straps you know. It's only an issue if the bracelet is integrated. Just check youtube on how to swap straps.
>>16110719DELETE THIS POST

>>16110820To each their own, but I personally wouldn't have any of those concerns with a GS.Personally I don't really mind that their mechanical and spring drive models are a bit thick, and their quartz models aren't actually that thick. Also, I already own a Seiko SDGM003 which has a similar bracelet design to GS with the two half-links, so I already know the bracelet will work fine on me as I had no issue sizing my SDGM003 to fit perfectly. Excuse me gentlemen, what type of watch would be acceptable for a girl to wear without looking really odd or like a complete dyke?
>>16111613I believe it's laser etched. At least the Wimbledon/fluted dials are.
>>16111250>>16111265Lolex owners really think that way. What a disgusting brand and demographic.

>>16111623BasedIt’s also why people buy the Explorer 1 over the oyster perpetual. Better tool free, on the fly micro adjustment
>>16111635Or perhaps the sunburst is applied first by brushing and then some process after it to smooth out the leaf pattern. Or vice versa.
>>16111250>>16111265>>16111636That guy is absolutely correct, though. These are basic market principles. The MSRP does not matter. This happens in the car world as well, especially for limited run super/hyper cars>Ferrari does a limited run vehicle>offers it at “MSRP” to a preferred customer who have probably bought at least 5 Ferraris previous>that very same car goes for 2-4x MSRP after a few years at auction with 5k milesMSRP is not the market price. If you’re not willing to pay market price, don’t whine about not getting the item.
GARMIN CHADS RISE UP
>>16111628if your goal is to blend into the normie masses you can just buy a fashion watch like those olivia burton stuff or whateverif you want to show you actually have a brain almost all brands offer unisex and ladies models
Does anyone know if there exists a machine for manually winding the watch? So you put your watch into it and it winds the watch every day for a set amount of revolutions? Like what do you do if you own multiple manual winding perpetual calendars? Does your butler wind them for you?
>>16111657Is that a Prospex logo?
>>16111662>manual winding perpetual calendarI can’t think of anything stupider in principle. A watch with such a complication should be automatic and on a winder. The only manual wind watches should own>antiques>a dress watch with zero complications aside from perhaps small secondsThat’s it. Setting a day/date, let alone an entire perpetual calendar, on a manual wind is fucking retarded.
>>16111662autowinders exist and are cheap (depending on what you buy)but those are for automatic capable watchestheres no machine for manual handwinding watches. At least I have not seen one before.there are winding tools to make it easier (useful for tiny/worn crowns)
>>16110831if only this were actually true, germany is no where near this based
>>16111670>watch with such a complication should be automaticmost watches with 'grand complications' are handwind only. The watch is often already very thick and adding a rotor on top would be too much/not possiblealso, some of the point of having a HH watch is for the finishing and a rotor blocks that
>>16111670It's a big commitment yes, but usually their movements are very pretty (especially if combined with a chronograph) and naturally they want to show them off and the rotor gets in the way of that. A micro or peripheral rotor is a solution to that problem, but is hard to engineer i would imagine. The problem is that they have to be set with pushers (or by manually advancing the time which is even worse) if you let them wind down, and that's a PITA, also frequent setting them can probably damage the movement after some time.
>>16111680Lange thought of that on some models where you can advance the date with a dedicated pusher, but idk about the rest.
>>16111275I'm gonna make a nice post for you all when I get mine with a fluted bezel and a jubilee bracelet.
>>16111682many vintage watches have tiny and worn out crowns, its not about strength but actually getting a gripif you are into vintage its actually a very useful tool
>>16111669Yep. I can toggle it off too. Here's another watchface I like.
>>16111686Bruh you're a baby
>>16111652>babby doesn't know about artificial scarcity and market manipulationYou're always going to be sheep
>>16111672>theres no machine for manual handwinding watches. At least I have not seen one before.Maybe i should design and make one then. Shouldn't be that hard, just include a variable diameter gripper for the crown and make it programmable (how frequent the winding should be and how many turns) and include a nice stand and you're done. Hell i could probably make one out of Lego Mindstorms.
Guys... why not Ball?
Why is it that I always think of Jason Statham when I think of Tudor, /wt/? Was he a brand ambassador at some point or am I just gay? It just seems like a watch for the type of guy he's always playing, I'm not sure if I made the connection from something real or if it just came to me in a dream?
>>16111697Stop making excuses for your cripple hands. Either the watch is literally broken or you have deformed hands. Either way you are retarded.

>>16111628Easy, you give her a nice baby-g.Most of the girls i know can't be bothered with automatics and will get tired of constantly adjusting the time after leaving it for 1 day. A good quartz is the way to go and Casio is the king in that area.
>>16111723This honestly spoils a few ball watches for me. I love the hydrocarbon gmt. Also the 12 o'clock date on their chronographs which gets obscured by the seconds hand which its not running though. The roadmaster icebreaker is cool though.
>>16111751Yeah i had something like this in mind, only it would be 3-pronged, and packaged in a nice pretty box. Some thought would have to go into the watch stand/holder so that it would be able to take a watch with a bracelet as well as on a strap and easy to put in/out and maybe include a torque meter as well to avoid accidentally overwinding the watch.

For some reason I've been digging the tuna aesthetic latelyBut I am a complete wristlet. What's the smallest model seiko tuna? Not solar.
>>16111785That range of Tunas wears really small. The actual dial/crystal has a small diameter, and the lug-to-lug is tiny at 45mm.They wear smaller than an SKX

>>16111795>Just buy it bro, don't be a pussy.Got $18k to lend me?
Tudor are painting themselves into a corner when people finally get tired of this endless vintage inspired bullshit they are only going to have 1 model
>>16111797>>16111799But in general the principle is the same. They look huge on paper, but the shroud adds very little in terms of visual size. It's the diameter of the dial/crystal and the lug-to-lug that make a watch look big/small, and the Tunas are pretty small in those regards.
>>16111700Is what rolex is doing artificial scarcity though? It is and it isn't too. I dunno.I just don't get the entitled attitude of>I WANT (THING)! MAKE MORE OF THING I NOW I WANT TO BUY REEEEEEEwhereas the manufacturer says>no. we're happy outputting the same number of units we always have, if more people than before want it now too bad we're not going mass rush out more go buy something else instead and there's a lot more available.

Is the watch community welcoming to women? Sometimes, but sometimes I think guys don't realize how un-friendly they can make a place. Every time someone posts a photo of a woman wearing a watch and a bunch of dudes comment "what watch?" you're creating an unwelcoming environment. Every time someone asks for suggestions for a watch for a woman and you ignore the requirements given to recommend an Apple Watch or quartz fashion watch, you're creating an unwelcoming environment.

>>16111846Theres a few cases you can read about online about people wanting an older (as in >6 years) model maintained because some tubes have loosen and fallen out and cracked and ball hasn't been able to oblige since they don't keep the replacement dials of anything but the most current shit. Maybe if you got one of their more long standing model divers that rarely change their dial layout then you might be covered. When they can replace things though you'll be paying out of your grandmother's asshole for a tube swap. They charge per tube.

Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.Men are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed men to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even trannies who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a man. Your bone structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk guy home with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected axe wound. You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your birth name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a man is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably male. This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
