>>2583252Of all the things to pick to try to complain about with the USA's electrical system and wiring practices, that's the dumbest.

>>2583252UK:>american wire nuts are a fire safety hazard! Even though there are zero documented cases of a fire being caused by onealso UK:>let's cover this building in flammable materials and design the staircase like a bellows

>>2583275>>>/pol/
I prefer to twist and solder with tin. Of course, welding is better, but the soldering iron was closer.
>>2583470>want to add a pilot light switch or smart switch>have to undo all that bullshitthis isnt the 40's anymore
>>2583470Without a doubt the dumbest way of doing this
>>2583475But it is still the second most reliable connection method.
>>2583473based, if you dont keep wago's in your pocket at all times you are not a tradie.
THE WAY OF OUR ANCESTORS SHALL BE HONORED
>>2583501if you're a tradie you should know how to twist a wirenutwagos are great in certain applications, and if you're a diyer they're the way to go, but they're very expensive per unit, if you're an electrician I can't imagine exclusively using these
>>2583252It just works™
>>2583511i dont know a single electrician not using wagos, wirenuts arent a thing in europe since 50 years
>>2583511i know how to twist one and thats why i know they are crap and illegal. any connection that rely on the skill of the installer is shit, a wago you cant fail and if it should fail you sue wago. who do you sue when a wirenut burns down your house? the mexican who wired it? lol good luck with that.
>>2583523why are you letting mexicans do electrical on your house?
and why would a wirenut burn down your house? do you not have junction boxes in europe?
>>2583529thats what americans who use wirenuts do.we use poles and we dont trust them so they use wagos, that way we know atleast the connections are good and errors are easy to fix.
>>2583533>thats what americans who use wirenuts do.no, we dont
>>2583535lol, shure you do. you even use poles like us but they get paid better here and dont have to deal with spics so they come back pretty soon. i know this shit i work with these guys.
>>2583537>you use mexicans, trust me bro because i dont even live in americafucking euros i swear to god
>>2583543well show proof that you dont? usa is basicly mexican by now we all know it.
>>2583555Day laborers are assigned simple tasks like painting, yard work, or hauling stone. For important stuff like plumbing or electrical, you'd have to be an idiot to not hire a contractor. Because when a pipe bursts or an electrical fire starts, your insurance company WILL ask for receipts before they will pay out.
>>2583567and a contractor wont hire mexicans?this is where i get confused because we never hire contractors we hire a company, fuck one man business that might be bankrupt tomorrow we want the reliability and security of an actual company behind the job.
>>2583572>and a contractor wont hire mexicans?Idk, but at that point its not my problem. If my house burns down and I have all my papers in order, then the insurance company has to pay. Let them bother trying to sue the contractor.
>>2583577>be me>hire a company that only uses east euro underpaid non-lisensed scum>i dont react to it and think its just finethats a me problem here and really the most effective way to deal with it, push the problem and responsibility on the end user who pays for it all. if you wont pay for illegal mexicans or romanians then thoose who use them are out of business.actually works pretty well.
>>2583488> tin and tape is dumbIt makes the best connection, I use this in critical and hard-to-get-at places. Takes more time, there is apparently a burn hazard to the electrician (lol) It’s also the smallest attachment if you’re worried about box fill.Almost every commodity outlet and switch in north america has push-in connectors similar to what you get with wago, but they are never used since they are considered unacceptable to most electrical co. policies given superior options.I think wagos are basically homeowner-class things, like the push-in terminals — they’re minimum possible legal limit you can get away with. If thats how you want to conduct your life, then so be it.
>>2583587> thoose who use them are out of business.actually works pretty well.Kek thats their point. They do that shit for a while and cheap out on every corner. When the backlash gets them they close the business. No personal liability.
>>2583473> wagosYeah, I saved one minute using wagos, and spent 20 minutes arranging and re-doing the box with perfect alignment.NGMI.
>>2583470>welding is better, but the soldering iron was closer.>weldingthe fuck.. this has to be a troll post right. who the fuck welds copper wires together. what a dumbfuck
>>2583523>they are crap and illegalwirenuts are not illegal you dumbshit. maybe in some other dipshit country where they need to use stuff because the population are idiots and they need to idiot proof everything. here in the US we use wirenuts and they work fine and have for many years
>>2583615>no personal liabilitywhat did you not understand? YOU are liable for hiring them in the first place, cant get more personal than that>>2583621>legal in usayeah that means shit it the rest of the world.
>>2583621It’s possible some cargo-cult countries/legislators missed the point of building codes—they are the MINIMUM legal standard to prevent killing or injuring people.I’ve certainly argued with building inspectors who didn’t seem to know that basic, overarching principle either. There is also the urge to be different in the face of scientific proof, even if it kills people… nationalistic pride. The wago patent was filed right after WW2… hmm…
>>2583636>minimum standardsno there are only absolute standards. cant have any leeway it will only be used for the builders benefits not the end users. its a reason here in the nordics we are the only ones to build fully wooden houses like you do in usa but ours actually last and dont mold up in a few years.
>>2583657Do you actually believe that? Not that like 80-95% of American houses are okay. You're going out and saying they all mold up?Fucjing smooth brain shit man.
>>2583657>in the nordics we are the only ones to build fully wooden houses like you do in usa but ours actually last and dont mold up in a few yearsif you replace the roof every 20 years you don't have to worry about mold.
>>2583670>>2583677yeah, just google osb and mold, protip we dont use osb at all in permanent constructios.>replace roof every 20 yearslol, are you using osb with shingles on or what? a roof here should last 50years atleast, my home is now at 100 years.
>>2583630>YOU are liable for hiring them in the first place, cant get more personal than thatNo, the LLC you established is. That's the whole point of a LLC.
>>2583693If Google bombed out homes in Europe I'll probably think the UK is still bombing your shit to bring you freedom. If you Google osb water damage of course you see water damaged shit
>>258370163,4654185, 11,1604330my grandpa both buildt that house and then later shot the grenade thats seen below the window there. its stuck.there never to be removed again, dont teach us about ww2, you only seen it from afar.
>>2583705Fucking atomic mirror smooth brain.maybe if gramps could actually hit what he aimed at the storynwpuld be cooler.
>>2583619Here is an example of copper wire welding. It's more expensive than vago, it takes more time, but it's reliable
>>2583845But with that many twists, what is the point?
>>2583859sparky autism
>>2583473>>2583845>blue neutralsReal Men use picrel.
>>2583994>candy cane groundthe sigma male choice
>>2583859You have to grab the thing with pliers and burn the end with carbon rod, so you need some distance. Problem of welding is that it requires having electricity. Soldering doesnt, for example. You can use simple blowtorch and solder wires with rosin core solder. But most of the time, junction boxes are in the most uncomfortable place imaginable so you use Wago or wire nut or anything that is fast.
>>2583252>chudpost
>>2584142>that postYou completely misunderstand. If you have already twisted the conductors a half dozen times, they are not coming apart, welded end or not.
>>2584659they think that we just put the wires in a nut and then screw them together
>>2583520>unironically using fagosI smell a houserat
>>2583473wagos look and feel temporary, like something you would find among 3d printed parts and 20x20 aluminum extrusions
>>2584961you = retarded
>>2584940>they think that we just put the wires in a nut and then screw them togetherThey must.
>>2583473at risk of being considered a shill - which I'm not - WAGO = pure sex
>>2584656You know chud isn't an insult right? It's just come cringey thing libs decided to start calling people because they will never be able to use, nor find words as powerful as nigger or faggot. You dumb nigger faggot, anon
what's your powerlevel?
>>2585137What is the proper way to bond copper and aluminum wires without causing galvanic corrosion?
>>2583845What is the point of this? The only reason a spice would come apart on something that's not mobile (ie a piece of machinery, a trailer that's getting moved around) is if you're servicing it, and at that point youd have to cut off the weld anyways. Imagine welding this shit, why?
>>2585137>crimping 12s
>>2585150>What is the proper way to bond copper and aluminum wires without causing galvanic corrosion? There are splice connectors you can buy that will deal with the differential thermal expansion provided they are installed correctly.
