Almost every commodity outlet and switch in north america has push-in connectors similar to what you get with wago, but they are never used since they are considered unacceptable to most electrical co. policies given superior options.

I think wagos are basically homeowner-class things, like the push-in terminals — they’re minimum possible legal limit you can get away with. If thats how you want to conduct your life, then so be it.

You have to grab the thing with pliers and burn the end with carbon rod, so you need some distance.
Problem of welding is that it requires having electricity. Soldering doesnt, for example. You can use simple blowtorch and solder wires with rosin core solder.

But most of the time, junction boxes are in the most uncomfortable place imaginable so you use Wago or wire nut or anything that is fast.
