Cast iron sinks like this cost a lot.
I am a third-generation plumber and my family collected a bunch of old sinks from the 1920s on... now I refurb them and sell them to people on Hollywood and Walnut Creek in California for about $3,800 a pop. (With new gaskets )
Roadside find, Craigslist or what?
>>2291923What is the coolest looking sink you have seen
>>2291933It was just sitting in a cabinet in this old guy's house!
>>2291945Nice. I saw the Craiglist free section thread earlier so I checked mine and there are like 10 free pianos lolApparently they're not worth scrapping.
cum in it
>>2291933By the side of the road.
>>2291915hey that's my sink you fuck!
>>2291915they are all in the trash in my country...why would anyone want that pile of rust?
>>2291958>cum in itThat sink is only 17.9 years you sick fuck
>>2292344Most Americans are actually very poor compared to how the present themselves online and in the media. That's why they dumpster dive and rob things from renovation sites etc
>>2291945Give it back Jamal.
>>2291933Stole it from mcdonalds
>>2291951Pianos cost money to haul away because they're big and heavy. If you want a piano, though, you can get one for the price of a box truck rental if you have some friends to help.I even saw a baby grand on the free section of craigslist somebody in the wealthy part of town was getting rid of.
>>2292447It costs a lot to tune them, and they are all always out of tune
>>2292451$150 isn't that much.
What kind of bracket do these use to mount to the wall?
>>2292352>Most Americans are actually very poorAnd don't forget cheap. We have to use plastic pipes now.
>>2292502a billy bracket
Delivery by March. I might just make one.
>>2292344It's mostly suburban women that think old fashioned country stuff is charming. The same people that have special mason jars for drinking, or have decorations made out of cracked paint and galvanized metal.
>>2292813It's a $1000 sink.
>>2291934A sink and bathtub carved out of redwood. That was in bill blanton's house, the designer of the sr71 backbird. I was his plumber before he died. His house was incredible and I plan on building a carbon copy soon.
>>2292889I also used to install professional kitchens in the LA area when I was younger and did a lot of work for celebrities. Sometime around the Dogma era I got a client referral via George Carlin (who was surprisingly very nice and great to work for, good taste in design too). Turns out it was Garafalo. Just a pure pain in the ass. She called me to schedule an entire remodel of her kitchen and I arranged a walk through and estimate for the following week. She called me EVERY FUCKING DAY between the estimate and first call. “Hey how is my kitchen going at the kitchen factory?” Lady I don’t know yet because I haven’t even fucking been to your house for an estimate. I pushed the estimate forward just to stop the phone calls. When I finally got to her house it was a disaster. Dog piss everywhere, and small little piles of adult diapers littered the floor. She said she was having plumbing problems but this was months of diapers built up. It was also really hot in there, like 90 degrees in February. Combined with heat it was like a piss sauna, impossible to breath in there. She asked about insane shit like why we don’t carpet out countertops to make them softer and if it was possible to make the water a different color. She also asked to make the refrigerator warm, to keep food hot. The refrigerator was full of friskies cans. I took some measurements and got the fuck out. I checked the thermostat on the way out, she had it set to 98. When she saw me glance at it she said “oh yeah, 98 because it’s human temp”. She called me every four hours after that asking for her “carpet kitchen” and if it was ready to “plug in to the house”. I ended up passing the job on to another contractor.
>>2292916listen here you little shit
>>2292398lmao someone post the screengrab
Let's keep talking about my new sink.
>>2292880Wew lad you really made it big mr businessman
>>2293306Congrats you found an old pos that some adult were sick of and the plumbers didnt wantWew but thats about it for the story
>>2293306How many vertebrate in your back do you have left after moving it?
>>2293306how about lets not, and instead talk about how cute that cat is
>>2293333Thats a fine cat right thereChecks out a sink like its nothingAlso checkem
>>2293322>and the plumbers didnt wantWhy would I care about the rich 1%?
>>2293483He looks like a stoic little murderer who hasn't have a genuine feeling in like 20 years. If this were a movie he'd meet a beautiful, troubled young girl and fall in love with her, then he'd try to leave his hitman career for her and end up dying in the process, but not before making sure his love got away and with all his savings.
>>2293496>He looks like a stoic little murderer who hasn't have a genuine feeling in like 20 yearsThat's literally all cats. That's one of the reasons I love cats. They don't give a single fuck
>>2293333>instead talk about how cute that cat isquads of trooth
>>2293306You're never going to use it, you wasted your own and everyone else's time transporting it to your house
>>2293904Are you the idiot that through away a $1000 sink because it was clogged? Thank God for rich morons.
>>2293306our new sink
I have a few cast iron double kitchen sinks kicking around that I should probably sell while the selling is good and before everyone moves onto some other thing...
>>2293976Looks like they were taking dumps in the sink. Man, ever since Epstein, we're finding more and more disturbing things about the rich and powerful.
>>2292351I don't waste time with jailbait sinks, I like'em young for that unfired clay sink action.
Good as new. Gonna spray paint the rusty bottom side with gray automotive primer.
>>2293976I wouldnt clean out that discusting clot of someone elses discusting liquids for a used sink. But keep living that trash lyfe you
>>2293976>calls rich people morons>sifts through their waste for scraps like a rat
>>2291915When I bought my house (Sears kit home from the 50s.) it had farmhouse cast sink, old heavy toilets, solid oak doors and I was a retard and threw all of them out on the curb.
>>2294033>Gonna spray paint the rusty bottom side with gray automotive primer.Brush on a rust remover or use a rust converting primer.
>>2294084I've seen a few house flippers complain about how hard it is to demolish old floated mortar walls in showers from that era. These demons think it's backwards that things weren't just made to throw away.
>>2294092I have two of those showers, and I am dreading the demo.
>>2291924It looks like the OP has found 500 to 1000 dollars in one place.I'd say that's a good find!
>>2294033>Unfinished raised bed>Random scraps of lumberConfirmed for never using the sink
>>2294092>>2294099It sucks, it took me a good couple of days and ended up being like 1500lbs of debris, then I found out the floor was done the same way.
>>2293483Post more cat pics so I can imagine what it's like to pet it
>>2293306wtf, where did you get a picture of my cat?
>>2294677She's cheating on you.
>>2292344Sandblast. 5 minutes. Good as new.
>>2294089I used this.
>>2294840Looks too black desu. Maybe you can try farting on it until you faint
>>2294843>Looks too blackSame to you.
>>2292889>A sink and bathtub carved out of redwood.cant tell if this bait or a real thing. i never heard of wooden baths or sinks
>>2294084>and I was a retard and threw all of them out on the curb.i did remodeling for a few years and it always blew my mind that people threw out their awesome quality shit and had us replace it with cardboard. unreal
>>2294840nice, now all you need is to stick a whites only sticker on it and it's ready to go.
>>2294840who's this person in your house taking loads? they got an onlyfans?
>>2292813Its the same suburban wymyn that had them thrown out in the first place
>>2294840That's pretty fucking black. Like creepy level.
>>2295184but how does that hold up with soap and other cleaning products?
>>2295217>Like creepy level.It's just a sink.
>>2295257what is that wiry looking thing with the handle that is on the wall?
>>2295262A rug beater I think.
>>2294415>getting real tired of ya sinks nyaa~~
The facet valves were leaky. Where can I order these gaskets?
>>2295712Go to a hardware store and pick up is universal mixed gasket set, find one the right diameter should be about a 16th less than the end of that and it will have about quarter inch before a taper that goes down to about 3/8.Black
>>2295132They're like 13 grand.
>>2295732Found it at Lowes.
>>2295886Yep that should help. Let ys know.
>>2295868I really want to hit somebody.
>>2295902Same. Taking a redwood and making a tub that person will probably never use.
>>2291951I have a baby grand and I can't give it away.
>>2295970I’ll take it if you can mail it to me
>>2295868hard water will be fun
Any tips on how to get this drain out?
>>2296020I've use similar to picrel for tub and shower drains without problems.
>>2295868Imagine getting your knob schlobbed in a wooden tub...
I made a tool.
That thing is really in there. Got it loose with lots of heat but the head of the bolt snapped before I got it all the way unscrewed.
>>2291915they are also hot garbage because the faucets prevent you from putting buckets in the sink
I got it.
I couldn't find a strainer for this diameter drain so I'm 3D printing one.
>>2296700>4:3 resolution stretched over a 16:9 laptop displayOP confirmed being around 50
>>2296740That's not what OP means newfag. And that poster is something of an enigma, to be sure. Apparently can 3d print but can't do a screen cap.
>>2296417Kinky sauna shit is my dream.
>>2295231before PE barrels were a thing almost everything was stored in wooden barrels.i see more problems when it dries and the wood shrinks, like old water mill wheels from wood if they keep running and stay wet they last decades, if there shut off and dry then get rained wet then dry again they break down really fast.
>>2293306BASED DEPRESSION ERA GLASS COLLECTOR
>>2298216The guy is NEET living at home. Thats moms collection
The new strainer worked out. I'm still in the process of repainting the bottom of the sink. Using penetrating oil on the rusted parts soaked into the paint and shows through new layers so I have to strip it and degreaser it.
