Building predates indoor plumbing. It either gets hung on the outside wall or the building gets knocked over.

>Building predates indoor plumbing.
nah not necessarily. I've seen this before. The original plumbing gets into such a bad state that half the walls would have to be torn out to fix it right, so it's cheaper to do this.
I've also seen it inside, where they just put the new pipes on the walls and bore holes through the floors for it.
It's trashy, but if it's all you can afford, then it's what you have to do.

>Why waste interior space with a shit pipe?
If temperatures ever get close to or below freezing, the liquid glowing down the waste pipe can start freezing, then clog, then you have waste flowing back into the apartments, or the waste can freeze enough to crack the cast iron waste pipes.
There is a reason in cold areas that plumbing is inside.

I remember when I was a /tallbed/ guy. Family had a bunch of spare mattresses and nowhere to put them so I just put them on top of my bed and it ended up being a good 6' tall or so (can't remember exactly how tall it was, but it was taller than me at the time). It was pretty comfy actually and kind of cool sleeping that close to the ceiling. Doggo I had at the time loved it too, she would sproink up to chill with me sometimes when I was lying in bed being a miserable shit.

Now I'm rocking /shortbed/. I've just got on of those cheap air mattress on the floor where I live now. My family questions me and keeps asking if they can send me a bed, but I actually find this comfier than a traditional mattress. Besides, Idon't want to get a real bed since then I'll have to get a desk if I want to shitpost on my computer in bed; I can't fucking afford that shit.

>not just putting some caulk on the countertop leading the water towards a piece of slightly discolored PVC pipe that drains in to the shower drain
It's like you don't want to fuck with whoever gets the house after you or something

Anyway, you guys want me to take a picture of my shower? The mixer valve went on it and the landlord refused to send someone out to fix it and refuses to compensate me for fixing it properly, so I just blocked off the tub spigot with a few very carefully applied layers of tape and glue since it was cheaper than to buy tape and glue than it would be to buy the shit I would need replace the mixer valve.

>>
>>2282499

Here you go. I had forgotten that I fixed the leaky drain with some tape too.

Basically all I did was wrap the electrical tape (there's some ducktape in there too as you can see) very carefully around the spigot a couple layers thick each time in a spiral towards the actual opening with extra on the end. Then I coated each layer in extremely cheap superglue as a niggerrigged sealant. Repeated this process a few times to get the final result. This was like the third try where I actually used enough material and applied enough effort for it to work properly.

Oh, and there's some waterweld in the actual thing itself and to seal the whole thing to the wall properly (there was ~1/8" gap between it and the wall beforehand). Not a lot inside it, but just a little to give the whole structure some rigidity.

All in all it's like $12 of material between "prototyping" and the final product, so I think I did pretty well for myself. What do you guys think?

My great grandmother reused to get plumbing for almost her whole life. She was from Czechoslovakia and was just used too having an out house around back. When she finally did, they installed the toilet in the kitchen right next to her giant coal stove, that she regularly used for cooking. And she was overwhelmingly happy, like, didn't even cross her mind to have a separate room, but super happy with having a toilet. She had to be in her 80s at that point, and this would have been in maybe 1995.

ex-commie
Commies build tons of housing, where people lived in basically for free. They did pay rent, but it was really only to cover costs like repairs/maintenance. After the iron curtain fell, everyone was given the option to buy the place they were living in for a ridiculously low price and most people did.
That's why ex-communist countries have such high home ownership rates. They've only been falling recently, as the new generation is now having to find housing under capitalism, where it's no longer used as a place to live, but as an investment

>>

>basically for free

>>
>>2296060
To add to that, commies have no tradition of kicking their kids out of the house the moment they turn 18, making them look for their own place to live and inflate the market in the process. Most live with their parents and either end up inheriting their place, or only move out once they can actually afford it without wasting money on rentcucking in the meanwhile.

Why waste resources making a big space just to shove all the ugly shit in in the first place. A nice water heater is a lot cheaper than the extra space for the ugly one in the basement.
>>
>>2296653
Basements are wasted space anyway. Most places that have them just do it because of the frost level. Who cares what a big tank in a 4 foot crawlspace looks like? Or out in the garage? Or in a utility closet? Do I give a shit what my furnace looks like? Its not like we put it in the kitchen like a peasant. Watch, you buy a matching set of water heater, washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, dishwater, bathtub, toilet, bidet, and sink because you have them all crammed into one room?

Doing this now, legal people are telling me she committed human trafficking in our relationship because she destroyed all my ID so I couldn't work or leave(I'm australian living in the US) it's been a wild ride, ditched schoolie idea and getting money together to buy another house now, except in my name instead of a bitch saying it can't be in my name

I never posted this picture in the original thread but this is the part of the bed where I broke my finger or thumb, I can't remember which

i'll take the industrial look over the gigantic suppository look. no need for a sleek form when this shit gets put in a closet. only reason to make a useful item look nice is when there's no other choice but to have it exposed, like cast iron heaters.

>>2296806
i remember being around 14-15, helping my dad build a shed and him yelling at me 'you can teach a woman how to flat nail'. wtf, i thought aussies were based
>>
>>2296848
The entire bed was made without measurements and half of it was made with a broken bone, I also didn't grow up with my family so I never had a dad to teach me these skills, I just go "welp fuck it, ain't gonna build itself"

It's lasted me the 6 months I think since I built it pretty comfortably, it doesn't need to be pretty, it werks

This is awesome. I had one of pic related back in the 80s and it was a great little truck (it's a VW rabbit with a factory bed for you zoomers, 80% of the utility of a truck and 35mpg). They don't make them anymore, so somebody took upon himself to do what car companies won't. Too bad it's finished so poorly.

>also plastered with warnings and what not
everything in america is plastered with warnings. from the cups at mcdonalds to the dashboard visor of your car.
>>
>>2296882
to be fair, mcdonalds coffee did melt a woman's whole vagina off after they had been told repeatedly not to make their coffee so hot.
the warning on the cup is part of a PR spin to make the victim seem stupid in retrospect, and to shame any possible future litigation.

This is really the car I want, modern compact trucks are too large for my needs.

yeah its common to have on hidden in wall cabinet or sometimes thicker higher output ones in full depth full height cabinets
they are balanced so they pull air for combustion from outside thus can be fitted in enclosed space

Is this not fact? I was speaking with my colleague in Canada and he mentioned almost all houses where he is has a basement because you have to dig below the frost line for a foundation. When you have to dig 8 feet to do that then why not go ahead and put in a basement?

No. The story behind it is not yet revealed. The current theory is that the rooftop balcony is used to spot and snipe incoming construction inspectors. In a way it is admirable that he finished the house in a true DIY spirit.

>After the iron curtain fell, everyone was given the option to buy the place they were living in for a ridiculously low price
so communism actually works by failing.
>>
>>2298008
What? No!
For the people already living in commie apartments nothing changed, because the money they were previously paying as "rent", they still paid, just into a pooled accound for the building that was used to do repairs and such (before it would have been a shared account for the whole neighborhood).
What did change was young people getting fucked over. After the fall, no one was building cheap housing anymore, so they had to keep living with their parents or go into massive debt to buy housing that was built by private corporations for profit.

>They've only been falling recently, as the new generation is now having to find housing under capitalism, where it's no longer used as a place to live, but as an investment
>Country collapses because it chose a failed and made up system
>Somehow now blame capitalism for the effects of this collapse.

People choosing Communism and suffering from it's inevitable collapse is just. You sometimes need to let someone touch fire and get burned for them to learn anything.
>>
>>2298147
No one is suffering from the collapse of communism. The people who chose communism did fine during it amd are still doing fine (due to the pretty socialist policy of letting them buy the apartments they lived in for low prices). The ones who are suffering are the ones that came of age during capitalism. And they are suffering in the same way as people of the same age in the west. Rising housing prices, unemployent, poverty.
But sure, the situation was so much worse 50 years ago when everyone had aa place to live amd a job.

Yeah. This is the definitely guy that chose communism in eastern europe.

He is an example of young people in the west suffering from capitalism, in a similar way that people his age are in the east. Granted, he is a retard, and Marx and Lenin are turning in their graves every time he calls himself a communist.
The people I was talking about are the eastern european boomers (and silent generation even more so. They are the ones who elected communist governments after WW2 and perpetuated them after that.

Kraken? Proof? Turning Around the Vote?

Excuse me comrade, but what is this anti-marxist pseudo-science? These things did not and could not happened according to the Historical Dialects of 2020. Biden won, anon. Any accusations of "fraud" is counterfactual to history. Anon, I think you have had a bit too much to think, do not be counter-revolutionist and go against the party. The party knows best! Now enjoy your well deserved OGPU-funded vacation.
>>
>>2298213
>>2298244
Regardless of if there was fraud or not, elections are run by the states and the states should be held accountable, not the feds. Each states population should vote their reps out of office if they believe they committed fraud. Or pass new laws, like they are doing... I don't see the problem.

the vote doesn't matter for shit, the politicians do whatever they want, look at seattle, the tunnel was voted down more than once as well as at least one of the big stadiums but they get pushed through anyway. the politicians don't represent the will of the people
