Hey DIY. Just set up 2 carports in front of my garage. Only problem is im worried when it starts to rain, water is going to come pissing inbetween the seams.

What would be the best way to make sure no water gets inbetween eitheir of my carports? Cutting pvc and placing it at an angle underneath? Or is there a better way, maybe going apeshit with some gorilla tape??
>>
Sandbag the bottoms so there's a channel for water to follow. Maybe pull them a bit further apart.

That driveway looks like it slopes down towards the street so the water should drain freely and not bother the occupants.
>>
>>2226638
I'm mostly just wondering why you did this
>>
>>2226679
way cheaper than pulling permits and actually building a garage
>>
>>2226680
wait you intend for those shitty car tents to be permanent? lol
>>
>>2226695
House has fire damage and cannot be occupied. I need a place to reside and put my things while im doing work on the main structure.

Also trying to figure out a decent enough way to heat these 2 carports along with the garage until repairs on the main house are done.
>>
>>2226680
There actually is a garage behind it. I just needed a place to put my tools and belongings.

Didn't you get insurance for house fires, or do you purposefully want to live like a hobo while getting carbon monoxide poisoning attempting to heat a tent?
>>
Turn them 90 degrees genius
>>
>>2228660
There is a 175k payout for the insurance. Unfortunately, the proccess isnt as fast as youd hope.

They offered to put me up in a disgusting roach filled pit. I declined, id rather be a little cold and keep an eye on my house then go live next to junkies.

Apparently you dont know how propane heaters work....
>>
>>2228654
I'd recommend a couple pods. This way you can actually deter someone with a lock and maybe sleep a bit better.
>>
>>2226638
couldn't you just get a permit to place 4 beams of steel with some purlins and metal roof?
>>
>>2226638
A large trap that covers both carports and sandbags on corners to keep from flying a way from wind.
>>
>>2226638
>Just set up 2 carports
Should’ve got the double wide.
>>
>>2226638
You could have bought an older travel trailer that has a bed and heat for less than your cuck tents lmaoooooo
>>
>>2229773
Parking travel trailers in the driveway is prohibited by the HOA.

Land of the free, everyone

That's going to sag in the middle and collect a huge ton of water before pulling out from under the bags and collapsing. The only way to make that work would be with one bigger, massive carport that would make the smaller two useless.
>>
>>2226638
There are gutters for large umbrellas (like in a street cafe). I figure that's about what you need. Though I guess you'd need some kind of overhang for this to work.
Do they need to have separate walls? Maybe you can roll up the walls between the two tents and use the umbrella gutter like that. Or can you slip something under the place where the roof overlaps the wall?
>>
>>2229835
god, american life is just suffering, isn't it?
>>
>>2229835
But dual hobo tents aren't?
>>

Why do people that don't own cars, or have licenses, like to shitpost about where Americans can park their travel trailers?

Jesus, I didn't realize the Welsh 1% posted here.

What can you legally park? For example a box truck or van? If not tagged the rear bumper can face away from the street.
>>
>>2229835
Hahahahahah
>I can put up tents but not have a camper

Why THE FUCK would you ever buy a property in an HOA?
Also, your house is fucked, you could get an exception at the next HOA meeting

This seems like one of the rare instances where the humble shipping container is a solution to a problem.

They make glorious workshops. A HOA variance should be easy to get since HOAs want nice unburnt homes. Also OP should consider joining the HOA board. That's how my bro helped make his reasonable (and being a 6'3", 250lb yoked biker helped considerably).

set up a third larger carport covering both other carports and thus the gap
>>
>>2226695
Not him but even when the tents tear apart you can replace with metal or plastic panels. I’ve got a HF one going on five years that’s been damaged in a hurricane and is fully functional. Had to remove the tarps but it’s reinforced with pvc roofing, vinyl siding, some wood frame reinforcements, and a concrete floor
