I found a cordless vacuum cleaner in my neighbors trash. It didn't work, which is probably why it was thrown away. However the batter pack seems to be perfectly fine. I opened it up and tested each battery on the multi-meter and they all measure exactly 4.1v, which I assume means they are good. The pack outputs 24v. I don't know much about these lithium battery packs so I have a few questions.1) Is this a "battery management system"? Do I just feed it 24v to charge the cells and the circuit board manages everything for me? Or do I still have to monitor it for overcharging?2) I wanted to power a cordless drill which I also found in the trash but that doesn't have its own battery. The cordless drill is rated for 18v. Would using 24v be okay? Will the battery pack tolerate being used for a drill instead of a vacuum cleaner? 3) How can I expand the capacity of the battery pack? Can I just solder on more 18650s?4) I also have an old UPS with a dead lead acid battery. Can I use the 24v lithium pack as a replacement for a 12v lead acid battery?
