dumb idea but you can buy ham radios without a license, boomers will triangulate your position for fun so do it from a moving vehicle like the CB people if you're gonna be a fucking retard (don't be a fucking retard just pay the 10 dollars and get the license its easy)
>>

You should fuck around with ham without a licence. Free room and board in a government apartment is the best you're gonna do in life.
>>

Checked.

CB radio is where all the outlaws go. Nearly everyone is running over the legal power, some even venture out of the official band from time to time. Go to CB.
>>
>>1997773
Get a CB with SSB
>>
>>1997773
Definitely broadcast with several dozen watts between 2mhz and 10mhz. Basically nobody uses that channel and absolutely nothing bad can come from creating interference on that band.

Unless you consider "getting your cheeks clapped by Bubba because saying you went to federal prison for doing illegal things with crystals" to be a negative... then definitely don't do any of that.

Okay, -where- are you taking your exam at? Like what nation are you in, and if you're a fellow American, what fucking state? Because here in the states, if you can't get you're driver's license, you are actually mentally retarded.

80, 60, and 40 meter ham bands
120, 90, 75, 60, 49, 41, and 31 meter broadcast bands
Military
Maritime mobile
Various utility stations like WWV

And that’s just off the top of my head. Don’t listen to this dumb fuck.

Not over radio but if you use a fake or pirated call they can look it up online to see whether or not you’re who you say you are. Depends on who you run upon as to whether you’ll just get ignored or narc’d upon.

Ham guys are autistic and record all their contacts. They look them up in QRZ to get the grid squares or what ever they fucking log. God help you if you pick a call of a SK (dead ham) or someone known on the band.

Just stick to the Chad Band. No loicense needed.

Not wanting to cause interference and being a legal beagle is two different things fren. I break FCC regs all the time but it doesn’t hurt to be courteous.

Since that other post is mine, I’m just gonna go ahead and say that there’s plenty of good used amps on the market that can be gotten for the same price as one of the RMItaly amps. Really love that old Gray 300 I got.

RMI amps are fine if you don't over drive them. The problem is that over drivin them could be anything past 2-3w deadkey. So even a stock radio can be to much. Most radios need a mod to lower deakey.
If you hook your peaked C29 up and hit em hard you end up sounding like OM44 across 20 channels. Which might be kinda based but most would consider it rude.

To me, it’s better to be clean than loud. I’ve heard lots of loud radios but the audio was garbled so it really didn’t matter. But loud and clean? You’re gonna be at the top of the heap.

You can be clean and loud if you can ride the edge near 100% and not go past. You need some basic equipment so get there.
Most Golden Screwdriver guys don't. So they take a stock radio that is setup to do 80% and then just cut the limiter diode out creating a "loud" splatterbox.

Amazingly accurate.

Radio stations operating on a range of frequencies must be licensed by the FCC pursuant to section 301 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended (Act). The only exception to this licensing requirement is for certain transmitters using or operating at a power level or mode of operation that complies with the standards established in part 15 of the Commission’s rules. The Agents measured the field strength of the signal of the station and found that it exceeded the maximum permitted level of 250 μV/m at 3 meters for non-licensed devices. Thus, this station is operating in violation of section 301 of the Act.

You are hereby warned that operation of radio transmitting equipment without a valid radio station authorization constitutes a violation of the Federal laws cited above and may subject the operator to severe penalties, including, but not limited to, substantial monetary fines, in remarrest action against the offending radio equipment, and criminal sanctions, including imprisonment.

UNLICENSED OPERATION OF THIS RADIO STATION MUST BE DISCONTINUED IMMEDIATELY

You have ten (10) days from the date of this notice to respond with any evidence that you have authority to operate granted by the FCC. Your response should be sent to the address in the letterhead and reference the listed case number. Under the Privacy Act of 1974,6 we are informing you that the Commission’s staff will use all relevant material information before it to determine what, if any, enforcement action is required to ensure your compliance with FCC Rules. This will include any information that you disclose in your reply. You may contact this office if you have any questions.

>>1997773
You can do it, but the feds don't fuck around with fines. They fine you 10's of thousands.
>>
>>2003381
That depends on what you're doing. A first time offender who was broadcasting on ham frequencies and just making fart noises would get off with a written warning or a couple hundred dollar fine. On the other hand, running a pirate radio station in the commercial radio band and getting caught multiple times will get you big fines, as will stomping on commercial radio broadcasts or using government frequencies at all.

Can someone redpill me on Galaxy CB's? Specifically the Galaxy DX-949. This one has the exact layout and all the options I want.
I want a CB with SSB capability and an analog look and function. No gay digital shit screens. Most reviews seem to paint it in a good light but then there's the ones that say "Hurr it didn't work" although those users might just be ESL retards who don't understand how these things actually operate.
Any other SSB CB's with a similar layout and operation that you guys recommend? Prefer to buy brand new over potentially sketch city used eBay radios.
My Cobra 29 LX and basic bitch Uniden PRO505XL have both worked wonderfully for me with no problems and continue to do so but I'm looking to get into the SSB skip meme.

Galaxy radios drift frequency too much. Personally I think they’re overrated. A lot of people like the Stryker 955. Before I got into ham, I ran a Uniden 980 on SSB. Only a stock 40 channel but was very stable on SSB. There’s always modded ham gear too.

Wire a repeater on a remotely controlled adjustment somewhere far from you perhaps tethered with phone or something.

Did a little ELINT but never with HAM and after a few VPNs and some rigging no one investigating easy meat for the FCC is going to do anything except break it and move on.

This meme is overblown. Classic Galaxy radio's are not SMT. You can actually mod and fix them. Yes if your radio is sitting at -10F in a cold car and you warm it up to 80 you will need to adjust the clarifier as it warms up.
Do the "unlock" clarifier mod and you will talk where you hear. Drifting wont be a problem.

Data transmission is legal on channel 23. But it’s supposed to be “one way” like scada and remote control.
https://youtu.be/V6syTt9RcsY

In reality no one really cares what is “legal” as long as long as your not interfering or splattering across multiple channels. I have heard everything from SSTV to packet to cw on cb. When skip is in your will hear all sorts of random stuff on channel 40. I think most of it is from South America. I know slow speed morse propagation beacons are popular down there and ive heard them from time to time.
