So what were your go to channels as a kid?
>>
>>136110482
ABC, CBS, NBC, and a very grainy FOX.
>>
>>136110482
4, 5, 10, 12
>>
>Cartoon Network
>CBBC (Britbong Channel)
>Fox Kids/Jetix when it was renamed
>Sometimes Disney Channel but not as much as the other 3
>>
>>136110482
The Big 3(CN, Nick and Disney) plus 4Kids and Jetix
>>
Súper3
>>
>>136111603
Same as this pretty much.
>>
>>136110482
CN and Nick
>I’d always change the channel when live action shit came on
>>
I used to watch Cartoon Network and Disney Channel, didn’t care much for Nickelodeon outside of SpongeBob.
>>
Cartoon Network and Fox Kids was where I went for my cartoons. I'd watch Nick and Disney but I'd only watch the live action stuff for those. They were my big 4.

>>136111720
I was the opposite with Nick, changed the channel when the cartoons came on.
>>
>>136110482
My family (at least the section i live with) didn't get satellite tv til' sometime in 1999 and didn't get the local channels until somewhere around 2004 or 5, so for me it was just cartoon network, nickelodeon, and toon disney.
As for the rare times i got to see the local channels, i mostly watched Kids WB because pokemon, i only got into tiny toons and animaniacs when they aired on cn and nick, didn't get into the dc shows until my teens.
After school for me was pokemon, digimon, and arthur, if school was over early enough KaBlam! was part of it to.

Same here, something about Nick's cartoons felt a lot more low quality to me, both writing and animation. Except for Hey Arnold the humor seemed very focused on like wacky, random gross out humor.
>>
The earliest thing I remember was Fox Kids pre-96 when they still had all the WB shows. Then Nickolodeon and at night cartoon network to watch stuff like Flinstones with my dad. Also flipping to Gargoyles and Ninja Turtles when those were on
At age 7-9 or so it was something like this
>Weekday mornings before school-local WB station for Beast Wars, Pokemon when it started airing, Sailor Moon/Dragon Ball Z if I woke up early enough(I didn't even know those were syndicated until one time I woke up and thought I overslept and was watching SM on Toonami) , Disney's Doug came on just as I left the house for school
>After school-CN until Toonami ended
>homework, then Nickelodeon since they usually had premiers around 7-8
>Weekends- switching between Fox and CN depending on what was airing on Saturday, Nick on Saturday Nights for Snick, Sunday movies on Cartoon Network

After the local WB station got rid of morning cartoons I remember just watching Buzz Lightyear and Pepper Ann on another channel's syndicated block because it was the only thing that wasn't the news. When we got a satellite provider I also watched Toon Disney a lot; back in the 2000s that channel was like a thrift store of cartoons I missed out on.

My country's public broadcasting channel number 1. It actually had some amazing shit on there.
Outside of that, probably CN, with the occasional Disney Channel.
>>
>>136111795
I’d primarily watch SpongeBob or the fairly odd parents, outside of that I forgot most of the cartoons that aired on there til /co/ reminded me. I was more into CN
>>
>>136110482
Fox Kids because it was all I could get. We had no cable and I wasn't even able to get Kids WB because our TV was so shitty.
>>
>>136111862
>>136111800
>Before School: Would watch my country's non satellite TV station which would air cartoons on the morning, mostly educational stuff or "life lesson" stuff like Arthur
>After School: Again cartoon block of my country's national station, Cartoon Network at night if I was watching cartoons, specifically toonami.
>Saturday Morning: A different national TV channel's saturday morning block as the one I watched on a weekday as their Saturday Morning block was eh, the one on the other channel had good shit like Pokemon and Yugioh and X-Men Evolution and TMNT, Fox Kids or Cartoon Network or Nick if I'm watching all day, I remember Nick had a great Saturday block
>Sunday: No Cartoon Block so Fox Kids or Cartoon Network or Nick
>>
>>136110482
Nickelodeon but in hindsight CN shows were way better
>>
>>136110482

Infancy to age 7: CBS

7-13: ABC, FOX

13-18: Kids WB/FOX (We had a weird thing where our WB afilliate had both FOX Kids and WB shows)

18-22: CN/Adult Swim

Adult: Youtube or streaming or piracy
>>
>>136110482
CN, Fox Kids/Jetix and Minimax were my main channels. I liked Nickelodeon too but it was broadcasted only for a short while here when I was a kid. Also, Anime+
>>
>>136110482
Why doesn't Fox kids and kids WB exist anymore yet PBS kids does
>>
>>136110482
Cartoon Network, Discovery Kids, and Nick
>>
>>136114090
Cable and then streaming took its main audience away and the fcc were getting strict on its educational rules for free to air kids blocks
>>
>>136110482
On Saturdays I'll flip between Fox, WB and ABC. Sometimes watched UPN and USA Action Extreme Team.
Most of the time I was on CN and Nick. Just posting munks to have something with the post.
>>
>>136110482
CN and Fox kids
>>
>>136114090
The government partially funds PBS so they're legally required to have programs for children. Other stations are only required the bare minimum and can just rerun Beakman's world for an hour at 6am on weekends and say they got their allotment in. Otherwise they make more money off cheap lawyer shows and talk shows so they just air those instead.
>>
>>136112597
This, but eventually we did get WB in, and that should be about the time Pokemon went from TBS to Kids WB.
>>
>>136110482
Discovery because animals were cool
Canal 5 had everything CN and WB kids had at better time slots, also a fuckton of anime with 0 censorship
Canal 10 had some stuff, I remember it most fondly for Tazmania and some British stuff
Golden aired cartoon movies and anime in the mornings(uncensored and even some hentai past 2 am), good choice if there were repeats and you wanted a movie or random anime OVA
Warner had old comedies like the 3 stooges every once in a while
Fox kids because it had some things other channels didn't have
The only reason I remember nick existed was the game shows and kablam wich eventually aired on canal 5 and 10

It's funny to think I did this much Chanel surfing when I was young, I used to read the free cable TV guides just to see what to watch in the mornings while eating breakfast with my uncle that also loved cartoons, shit was super comfy
>>
>>136110482
I didn't have satellite until I was 15, so PBS Kids, Kids WB, and Fox during the Simpsons/KotH hours before prime time.
>>
>>136110482
Cartoon Network For Every day with Kids WB for mornings.
Disney, Nickelodeon, and Fox Kids were alternates
>>
>>136110482
Yurop, so Nick, Cartoon Network and Fox Kids. Fucking reviled many shows, especially live action so constantly had to switch between them. I've also managed to witness CN just shifting from ancient Hanna-Barbera shit to cartoon cartoons in the late 90s, it was fucking sick. I also remember watching spongebob as a new and unknown cartoon.

Also, I recember that uhhhhh. TCM? channel playing oldies in the place of CN after 22:00. I believe I was one of the only kids in yurop who watched Gunsmoke and liked it while my parents argued in the other room in the year before the divorce.
