This show sucks so fucking much now bros. Last night’s episode was definitely top 10 worst material. What the fuck
>>
>>134181427
Why what happened? I haven't watch the last few seasons.
>>
>>134181427
Yes it was a disgrace (AKA average which for this series is a disgrace).

There was a point where they had Louise walking the razor's edge between sweet and evil, and now she's acting like a literal actual little girl. What sort of scheme is trying to make a yeti dance? That's dumb. Even Rugrats did a plot with babies rigging the ice cream jackpot hole.

How you can miss such obvious opportunities for amusing plotlines shows you are simply past it and not caring anymore. Probably too busy discussing their pronouns to work.

Feel bad for the VAs getting these horrifying dead scripts. They will lose their fire too if these garbage scripts keep coming out.

Was it actually that bad, or are you just being a big baby? Anons hated the VR episode, but that turned out to be surprisingly decent.
>>
>>134181509
It was terrible. Louise acting like a 5 year old. What are the conflicts? Let's see... Louise wants to make some dumb yeti ornament dance. Tina wants to ASK her parents if she can go to a teen boy party (yeah the conflict is ASKING, she doesn't actually go), and Linda's is doing shit at the golf. Except some reason getting a hole in one on a random hole.

I literally think a writer took his kids out to minigolf and the script is literally just exactly his day at golf. That's it. Wtf.

Next week's better not disappoint. There's a lot of potential for a good episode. Some genuine heart in the A-plot, and some funny Teddy mishaps in the B-plot.

You guys underhyped this episode so much i actually enjoy it, I don't even remember the last time I truly enjoyed a Bob's burger episode. Thanks.

Nice. A LOT of shit I've been excited for premiered these last few days, so I'm still catching up, but I'm already planning to fit in the new Bob's Burgers soon. Season 13's actually been alright imo, and I'm always a fan of the Thanksgiving episodes.
>>
>>134181427
This is the first episode of that show I've watched and I liked it. I've also seen the new Rick and Morty episode (which I haven't watched in 5 years) and it fucking blows. Thank you for reading.
>>
>>134182119
>This is the first episode of that show I've watched
Watch episode 1 NOWWW. You haven't watched Bob's Burgers till you've seen the early seasons.

Or just start with the movie if you'd like. Both work well as first impressions.

Louise still has plenty of edge. She's still a mischievous brat who comes up with amusing schemes. Adding a conscience to that doesn't ruin her character like a lot of you love to claim.
>>
>>134182247
I obviously can't compare them to the rest of the show, but it was a nice contrast to Rick and Morty's stale nihilism and barrage of meta jokes.
>>

what happens next week?

To be fair the babies did not rig it intentionally and the thing was designed to be unwinnable to begin with.

they go to a minigolf course, Gene and Louise break an animatronic, as they're leaving the place they tell Bob what they did, Bob has to pay for the damages and they're banned from the course (the last part is told, not shown)
this was the thanksgiving episode btw.

>>

>>
>>134181868
Visiting Bob's mom's grave is firstly about as depressing as it can even get, and secondly sounds like a storytime episode with stories about Bob's mom with flashbacks.

Bruh.......

Teddy better pull through but he's the worst character, more than even Gene.

Fingers crossed guys.
>>
>>134182267
Bro fucking around with a yeti is actual child stuff. An actual toddler would do that. It's a disgrace like Tina said, immature as fuck.

When's the last time Louise pulled off any stunts? Jumping in a hay barn? Wtf are these people thinking.
>>
>>134184009
She’s a fucking kid doing dumb kid stuff, it sounds like you think Louise is supposed to be a midget who thinks like an adult… maybe you need to lay off the rule34 for awhile
>>
>>134181588
>Louise acting like a 5 year old.
Isn't she like 7?
>>
>>134184095
Picking front door locks on houses and ordering mascots to the house to traumatize Teddy and making child molester puns is Louise... She's also sneaking into off limits exhibits and making fake turkey heads explode over people and feign an electrocution to get back at a teacher. Or literally use power tools to break into a secret room.

This is like an infant's idea of fun.
>>
>>134184110

>>134181427
Bob's feels like the simpsons on fast forward. they did a good enough job in the early season(golden era) but quickly got into their zombie era and now post-movie era, they are somehow a more hollow shell than before.

>>134183581
It didnt even feel thanksgiving related, they just threw the "talking turkey" gag at the end. The only think funny about it now is how little fucks they give
>>
>>134183581
So low effort
They could had gene and Louise try to sneak the legs to the back of the course to try to fix them while Tina distracted the owner and Bob and Linda got into a passive aggressive fight
I believe this show is getting internally dabotaged
>>
>>134181427
The show dropped in quality when they got rid of the adlib scenes. Now it's just a really bland and boring series about Tina being awkward.
>>
>>134181427

I automatically assume Louise isn't the same kid that tried to have a bunch of bikers cut a guy's ear off anymore.

Why all this hate? I thought it was fine. It was funny seeing Linda seethe over golf, Louise and Gene fucking up, Tina gloating over them, and the kids actually got grounded for their mistakes. They also went to a unique location for the show, it was fun.
The halloween episode was way worse with the way it didn’t know what it wanted to do.

They're rehashing the same tired formulas: Tina is a goody two shoes, Bob is a pushover, and Linda imposes her will on everybody. And when did Louise start trying to do the right thing?

In the old days, Louise would make trouble and blame somebody else.

Pic comes from that shitty Season 11 episode where Gene kept whining for Linda's attention because she was in some "female entrepreneur" club or something. I remember it at least ends with Gene learning to quit being so possessive, but that doesn't exactly save the episode from being a chore to watch overall.

I feel like seasons 2 through 4 was where the show's quality peaked, and has just been slowly declining since then.

Alright, you babies. The new episode had a pretty mundane and limited premise, but it turned out fine in the end. I like seeing the kids butt heads for a change; Bob, Gene, Linda, and the golf course owner had some funny moments; and comfy Thanksgiving feels were had against all odds.

I'm usually one to defend softening Louise's character since I still find her entertaining most of the time, but her coming clean for this one was kind of lame, as was Bob having to pay for it. Still, these two minor things aren't enough to make it a "bad" episode in my opinion. Definitely one of the weakest Thanksgiving episodes, but I'm still glad I saw it.
>>
>>134189559
It's not the worst episode ever and honestly one of the better episodes of the season. I still don't get how more people don't hate on the camping episode. Linda is so unlikable she kills the episode.

What About Job? has been my least favorite so far this season, but admittedly that's mostly due to how fucking sick I am of the show's anthology episodes. It's all tired movie references with meh action sequences. They peaked with The Frond Files honestly.

You'd never see this in any of the new episodes. The time when they thought they'd get a limited number of seasons and so shouldn't hold themselves back is gone, now they're going for longevity and blandness.
Never shall we see Tina pressured to deal or partake of drugs.
Never shall we see Gene disprove Bob saying that heavy kids don't get molested.
Never shall we see Louise get cancer. Seriously. We've got the prologue for two fanfics where she gets brain cancer. I think its karma for her season 1 joke of pretending to have a seizure. Although to be fair to them, reading Louise in severe pain makes a warm cinder spark in my cold, coal of a heart.
>>
>>134194504
>Louise get cancer
Sounds like a Movie plot. This isn't something that could be covered in a 2-part special, but as down-to-earth as Bobby B. can get. Wouldn't be an actual plot because you can't joke about a child with cancer. Even if she is Louise.
>>
>>134194504
I'm just surprised they never did a period episode with Tina. Seeign as puberty is a big deal with her. Seems like it would have been a good episode. Could even have the awkward "Bob has to shop for tampons" joke in there.

On one hand I enjoy seeing a TV family that loves each other and don't turn into abusive family for cheap laughs. On the other hand, the plot pool seems to getting narrower.
>>
>>134194782
>"Bob has to shop for tampons"
And since he's married he's done that at least once. What he hasn't dealt with is having to ask for Gene and Louise to get them because hes occupied with the restaurant.
>Hi. We're two unattended children and we want to buy tampons in your "girl puberty" size.
>And I want the "boy puberty" sizes! I WILL beat inflation.
>>You kids seem young for buying tampons. You okay with called girls?
>I prefer the noun "Demon".
>You can call me whatever you want.
>>Okay, girl and Demon, do your parents want you to get tampons?

Basically the obligatory LGBT forcefeed episode where Gene is confirmed trans and Louise as non-binary.

How about Louise gets molested This can happen because she's not fat. Or befriends a girl at school and finds out she's being molested.
>>
>>134194984
>because hes occupied with the restaurant.
Anon, your entire scenario is dumb and you know it. When has Bob ever chosen the restaurant over doing a menial task for his family? More likely scenario is:
>Tina gets her period in the AM
>instead of opening up Bob has to go to the store and get her pads or whatever.
>will have some awkward chit chat with the store clerk about what size to get
>Louise stays behind, has heart to heart with Tina about growing up
>B plot is Linda and Gene going to some mother-son dance competition.
>>
>>134195106
>New girl, named Clarissa, at school is soooo clingy. Grabbing everyone to take home and play with after she finishes her after-school activities. Her dad obviously hates it but only sends them home after a short while. Because hes kind like that.
>Louise is the only who stays because she wants to see how far she can push mr goody goody
>Clarissa takes this the wrong way and invites herself for a sleepover. Ends up spooning Louise in her own bed. Louise thinks she a magnet for crazy people now.
>Clarissa is actually raped by her father often and keeps other people around her to deter him, or just removes herself outright from her home and him through overnight visits and sleepovers and parties and clubs.

Nope, you're not alone. Bob has grown more and more pathetic as the series goes on. It's nice to have an adult family sitcom where the dad isn't an asshole, but it's not like that wasn't already the case since Season 1. The Belchers can still be a loving family without making Bob less assertive with each passing year. His line readings also feel way more subdued than in the past.

Right? So many of his lines feel like he regrets saying every word the moment one comes out of his mouth, it might be a semi-realistic for people like that to speak but it's annoying as hell to listen to. Make him feel and display an actual emotion again, the man feels like he's on the verge of suicide every episode.
>>
>>134195521
semi-realistic WAY*
>>
>>134182267
>>134184095
I don't mind her doing little kid stuff like >>134190546 because it's silly and doesn't detract from anything. But it's her personality, attitude, and just the way they're writing her now that skews her.
In the past, I could see her pick-pocketing someone at the restaurant and feeling no guilt and it wouldn't even be the focal point of an episode. Now, there could be a B-plot to an episode about her stealing hall-passes and selling them to classmates for candy and then feeling guilty about it for 14 minutes of a 22 minute episode.
It's not just her though, they softened the whole cast to the point they're scared to give Tina any new characterizations because it might be too awkward to see her deal with something new, but it's fine to repeat the same things because the audience already accepted them in the past.

What do you think Belcher would do if they come across a seriously abusive household? Until now the worst we seen is Jimmy Pesto being a jerk.
>>
It was still better than Family Guy this week which had the following plot: Stewie becomes a big fan of a teen pop star and gets cancelled for calling her a pig on social media. Peter gets all his fat stretched down into skin flaps as a big setup for a joke where Chris flies him like a kite. Complete with a tired "celebrity worship is bad" speech from the creator of a show who apparently still thinks Taco Bell combos cost $1.68.
>>
>>134196673
Family Guy was always a sort of sketch show in its core, so it's not really upsetting that it's bad. Bob's Burgers had a strong emotional core that makes its decline in quality more upsetting.
>>
>>134196617
Honestly they'd call CPS. Failing that, tell Mr. Frond. Then Louise would channel her Season 1 energy and frame him for a robbery. Then when he gets acquitted because they found the actual robber she'll just kill him with a kirchen knife.
>>
>>134196864
>Honestly they'd call CPS
That's fair for Bob and Linda I suppose. If Louise is the one to discover it, the sense that it's something adults won't help with can rub off her though and she'd do something stupid herself. She's pretty naive despite her edgy attitude.
>>
>>134197210
Especially if Clarissa tells her that shes already done what Louise is suggesting; telling adults, calling CPS and cops, getting help, and it has never worked. But would she kill a man?
>>
>>134197336
She could try, but despite some of her antics she's a little girl with realistic limits, she can't do much. Maybe she tries to poison him.

How old are they, anyway? Felix looks and sounds much younger than Calvin, and then there's their cousin, not nephew or anything, but COUSIN who looks and sounds like he's less than half Calvin's age. Real complicated family, even without the seemingly ceaseless murder attempts.

Well I liked the gayle one based on how blatant the kids were towards pandering towards gayle and the teddy one gets a pass just from bob saying buckle up as he embraces teddy from behind.
Sorting from good to bad it would be like

Good
>The Gayle Tales
Good
>Sliding Bobs
Bad
>Mom, lies, and videotape
Good
>Bed, Bob & Beyond
Meh
>The Handyman can
Good

I think the framing device has a lot to do with it, like the kids need a good excuse to why they're telling these random ass stories.

I’m still pissed that Cole was such a lame, unfunny character when he could’ve easily been the breakout star of the show. I do still hold onto the theory that the creators wanted to avoid as many similarities to Gene as possible since his design alone already resembled the character, so they might've just went ahead and stripped him of any bombastic quirks one would expect out of a character played by Tituss Fucking Burgess. Such a missed opportunity.

No. And the fact that she tried to cuck her sister gets forgotten too often. She even made a pass at him when he showed up at her house to take her home for thanksgiving. She wasn't injured in the first place so her lying naked on the floor was an obvious attempt to seduce him. Linda has the patience of a saint and when even she gets tired of your shit, you know you've crossed a line.

It's probably too late for Gayle, and considering how distant their parents were, Linda was basically raising her, poorly. It's not fair to Linda, perhaps, since she's only a couple years older at most, but what is she going to do? Her only option is to hope Gayle dies before she dies.

There's been several people who've said that this feels like a Nickelodeon show now, and I can't say that I disagree. Aside from Tina still being a shameless ass-woman, I honestly cannot think of any detail in this show that would prevent it from being aired on a kids' network. Louise's pyromania becomes a pyrophilia and she has her "grown-up moment" while watching a campfire.
Gene's overeating finally catchs up to him and he has a heart attack. The resultant shock and fear turns him 180° and gives him anorexia.
Tina notices girls have butts too and turns her sexuality into over-sexuality. And gets prosecuted for sexual assault of a minor.
Linda misjudges her alcohol tolerance and almost dies by alcohol poisoning. Gene is the one who finds here.
Bob becomes catatonic for an entire hour. Just standing in front of the grill, staring at nothing. When he comes to he doesn't think anything is amiss.

A car crashes into the restaurant. There's only minor damage, but its also a crimescene since the drive was a suspect-cum-witness. So Bob has to try and run a resraurant that is also part crime-scene. Which isn't that hard since people will pay $5.95 for the "In the Lime-light" burger (with lime juice) for the time to rubberneck at an actual crime. Much better than the time their sidewalk collapsed.
B-Plot. The Belcher kids try to solve this mystery too but fuck up. Finding actual criminals who rape Louise/Tina and make Gene and Tina/Louise watch.

Understand This.

In making a movie you bust your ass to write the best script you can manage. They pulled out a B, not B+ but a B tier script for their movie.

The worst part is that it was the best Bobs Burgers has been in years. That is how low this show sunk.

It’s funny where most animated shows get more ridiculous in their premises the longer they run- American Dad, Archer, Family Guy, ect- Bob’s Burgers somehow got far safer and mundane. When’s the last time we got a Mutiny on the Windbreaker? A Full Bars? A Speakeasy Rider? Wag the Hog? Or a Sea Me Now? And along with the plots becoming less interesting the characters have become tired muted versions of themselves. Louise is the most obvious, but Bob is a close second. Instead of being an impassioned driving force who the show is about, he’s become an almost ancillary character who passively reacts to everything and doesn’t seem to have real motivations of his own.

The last few seasons have just felt boring in comparison to what we had even in season 7. And the characters are all still lackluster now. It’s not really bad per se, it’s just completely boring.

>does Tina even have friends? Not frenemies, but actual friends?
Zeke and Jimmy Jr., and I guess also Darryl but he barely exists now. That brings up another question, though - weren't Tina and Jimmy Jr. supposed to be a thing now? Wasn't the show after the movie supposed to "take things to the next level"? Tina's desire to go to a party with older boys implies that she's still not in an actual relationship and the will-they-won't-they shit will continue like the movie never happened. Or episode 6.
>>
>>134220266
Toxic positivity at it's worse, Bob and Linda can't raise their kids proper because anything stricter then an indecisive no is treated as them being too harsh, Gene has regressed into full on emotional incest because cutting the umbilical cord between him and linda is too harsh, Tina cannot get away from Tammy or Jimmy Jr because standing up for herself is too harsh, Louise has become of a shell of her former self because her having confidence was too harsh.
>>
>>134217952
>And fuck that made me realize, does Tina even have friends? Not frenemies, but actual friends?
Susmita probably. But she rarely appears.
>>
>>134220960
Don't forget Bob never being allowed to have anything for himself, because him just putting his foot down for once and demanding to do/have something that makes him happy is too harsh

You could get a lot of fun out of this dynamic. Let's say Tina excels at a class for some reason (creative writing, horse biology, class where the teacher has a hot ass) that Logan sucks at and Cynthia wants Tina to tutor him. You get a fun dynamic with Tina having a non-restaurant job, Logan being obnoxious, Louise and Gene bugging them, and maybe Linda seething over Cynthia and Bob being supportive.

Because the show isn't really good, despite of being made by the same Bob's Burgers crew, the show suffers with an identity crisis on what it wanted to be, despite on using the Alaskan setting, the characters feels aimless and dull. Even on /co/, the show is a hit and miss all the way.

So what's the deal with Millie Frock. Someone mentioned she might have a family troubles - which would make sense for her to want to steal Louise's happier life, but I don't remember it ever being referenced.
>>
>>134240833
She's got a single mother, that might be it. But as far as I can tell Millie just wanted to be Louise's friend. And went about in the way that was most sensible to her mind. Unfortunately her mind is not like other people's and came off as psychopathic. Twice. Then she got a chance to perform her mutual trust exercises to pair-bond with Louise and now feels significantly less stress to "pursue" her. Even going so far as to push back against her whilst still being friends, so she might be stabilizing. We'll see if she makes any other friends that aren't Regular Rudy by association.

She likely masturbates furiously to pictures of Louise she took when she wasn't looking, still.

I guess it’s supposed to be character growth and a mature moment for her, but I dunno. I just feel like this show might as well be on Nickelodeon or Disney channel now? I just like how Louise used to be before she went soft. She should’ve kept walking when the ape busted again. And she still could’ve had the sisterly moment with Tina and they could also bond over their new secret as well. We don’t always need to be taught lessons.
>>
>>134181427
They painted themselves into a corner by making Thanksgiving episodes more or less expected with the additional caveat that Bob is absolutely insane about the holiday.
Now they need to do one every year, but the options are limited if they know that Bob will insist on being home to cook. The episode either needs to be set in or around the apartment (which can be limiting and boring), or the premise needs to get the family to go out briefly which is hard to do when Bob's character won't be able to commit to whatever shenanigans they get up to.
>>
>>134241905
This episode wasn't their best work, but I would feel let down if they didn't put out another TG episode next year. It's fun just having a playlist of TG or Xmas episodes while cooking for the holidays even if some of the episodes are better than others.

She DOES have big boobies

Of course not, the new one was a second part to a very meta episode which already was divisive enough. Try watching the other six episodes of this season so far. It’s been the best season since three but still nowhere near the first two.

Does anyone still actively get excited for new seasons or new episodes, or are we all just sticking with the show out of habit now? My expectations have lowered so much in recent years.

With edge, you never know exactly what you're going to get. With wholesome family fun, you know that there's going to be conflict, but you know that itll be solved soon with a lesson imparted.

I'm still going to keep watching because I need canon to fuel the fire I use to create Louise abuse fics that I keep in my head.

They filed them down over the years post season 6. Can't have kids learn bad things from her.

Seasons 1-5 were the best, then they shifted it to more "family friendly" and it's only gone downhill since.

I miss when Linda and Bob argued with each other. To show families don't have to be perfect 24/7 or never disagree.

I liked the movie and thought the show would start hitting a little harder again. It really didn't, so yeah, the latter. It's getting increasingly less interesting as time goes on and every voice actor is clearly getting bored with it, but it's not bad enough to outright drop. I did take a break for several years and caught up on 3 seasons before the movie came out, but I really didn't miss all that much there either.

Now? It's always been weird and low-brow. I don't even understand why it survived this long, when I first saw it I thought it would go the way of Napoleon Dynamite and Golan the Insatiable.

This probably means nothing to anyone who isn't into the show, but the early seasons are honestly pretty solid. Especially when you look at the annoying low-energy of the more recent seasons, the early episodes are stupidly entertaining for what the show would end up "developing" into. Nothing groundbreaking but you could see why it had a pretty active fanbase at the time. Nowadays I don't even know who watches this, I never hear anyone talking about it anymore aside from these threads on /co/. I don't even really know why I'm still watching.
