I think we can all agree Hop Pop turned out to be the biggest waste of character potential in the show, ever since the pilot where he warns Anne how she doesn't know anything about "Amphibiland" I always thought there'd be more to him than "gentle old farmer", and the books, the house dungeons, and hiding the music box (and the Bizarre Bazaar joke) reinforced that belief only for it to be literally nothing.
