Work On Your Art
>>130614316>i need to finish 4 more commissionsGod help me. At least my new monitor's on its way so I can draw color-accurate dicks
Thanks Batman...I might just work on a drawing of (You)...
>>130614316color your shit first
>>130618291Working on faces
>>130614316I've been putting in a floor Batman, my arm hurts.
I just wanna draw cute girls with nice legs Batman
instead of learning to draw, i have been playing video games. elden ring and dark souls to be more specific, which inspired this drawing
>>130614316how do i do lineart without dying inside and/or discarding the whole sketch?i can crank out a decent sketch appealing to my twisted sensibilities, but the moment i get into clean lines and opaque shapes it just dawns on me how shit everything isand i'm not even interested in rendering, just flat color, so who know>t. beg
>>130614316'here ya go bats
>>130618700My friend once said that the reason lineart looks worse than a sketch is that your eyes can choose which lines to follow in the sketch. In a weird way, Lineart is like chiseling a more solid form out of the loose sketch. Basically the good drawing is in there somewhere, you just gotta figure out how to bring it out. You can try using things like line weights and more loose gestural lines to put more energy into your drawings is the issue that they look a bit too flat.
>>130618437Those are definitely some good legs. I also really dig the cybernetic arm.
>>130618700>>130618847 this guy knows his shit.it's all based on an "agreement" or suspension of disbelief of sorts. you know you're not looking at actual objects or people, but representations. So you can have a representation that says "I'm very literal" (the one with clean lines) so then your brain requires it to fulfill that promise and execute the assumption. With a sketch it's clear from the get go that there are a lot of things left unsaid and it's the main idea that's key, not the precision of execution. So it's more forgiving. And often times more interesting. It's also a more suitable approach to capture the essence of the situation.
>>130618700have you tried just cleaning your sketch? I have doing that for three years now and it gives better results and you can still get a clean drawing from that. It also keeps the flow of the original drawing. Just a recommendation. It's way better over doing lineart for me
>>130618914How do you clean up a sketch? I'm this guy. >>130616089Line art is a real struggle for me.
>>130614316Recent drawthread sketch. I want to do some studying but a. I'm overwhelmed on what to do and how to learn it and b. get bored easily and just wanna get back to drawing for fun.also trying to enjoy the process more cause I feel like I speed through things too quickly for my own good.
I drew this edgy guy after staying up all night lmao, who doesn’t love shovel knight. It’s nice to see there’s a WOYA thread, whenever I’m here there usually isn’t.>>130618961Spaget Woman, nice drawing haha
I spend the last two month hardly drawing anything due to Elden Ring taking up all my time.Just got back into things recently and it's frustrating af.
>>130618961>I want to do some studying but a. I'm overwhelmed on what to do and how to learn it and b. get bored easily and just wanna get back to drawing for fun.I don't know if this will help but I do studies maybe every few days 3 or 4 times a week focusing on one thing that week. And then if I'm not "feeling" it, not in the mood I try and make the studies about something I have an interest in or am working on anyway. Like I want to do some life drawing, but am not in the mood but I do want to draw superheroes then I'll draw cosplay or i want to draw a specific character but I'm having a hard time I'll cast the character and then try and draw that actor paying attention to the parts I want to use for the character. Say your entire interest was drawing stretchy girls I'd find scenes from any of the Fantastic Four movies or The Mask and draw those but maybe fully render it or focus on shading across a curved surface or how they foreshorten limbs, things like that.
>>130616873Princess’ booties
Here’s the heads I sketched during my lunch break last night
>>130618961Some warmup I did yesturday before work. I noticed I tend to draw characters drinking coffee cause I can't just draw characters standing. Also drawing on newsprint and printer paper is a bit easier since most of the work isnt gonna be shown anyways.>>130618961It was a Total Drama Island girl as a stretchy superhero. Twas fun.>>130619197Anything helps; I just gotta do it. I discovered that I need to draw with my arm to really feel the groove so thats been helping as of late. Also trying out new brushes on digital helps alot.
>>130619320second was meant to reply to>>130618998
>>130614316Currently trying to paint a chicken. The white got a little crazy but I plan to put more detail on the waddle. Next up is doing the black feathers for the head and blue/green feathers for the body.
>>130620003This is the reference
I don’t think I posted this before.
>>130614316On it boss
>>130620578no. I have a special task for you.
>>130618941I just draw the first draft, doesn't even to be perfect; you can add details later, and when I'm content enough I go erasing the lines I don't like and go over the lines that I do, darkening them if I'm using a ligther brush. It's a lot of erasing but it doesn't feel like it when you get used to it. I personally enjoy the process, way less stressing.Your art is nice, If you'd ask me how I would go about it I would have greyed the lines from your draft and work from there, erasing what doesn't have to be there and keeping what I see good. Here's how it turns out for me, you can obviously do better and cleaner than what I do, and make the lines thinner, it's just about personal preference and faster results. Sorry I can only show basic drawings, this is what is safe for me to post. I do full body more often but it's all shameful porn.
>>130621095Very nice anon
Just did this on Procreate. How do you determine the right size for you digital canvas? Find out by trial and error? I swear only certain brushes work at large enough canvas, but then I fear I'll be over detailing with all that space.Even have a friend that can sketch on as little as 600 by 600px with line brush only
>>130619145Best girl
>>130621134thanks!
>>130621299I don't worry about the canvas size when working and usually tend to work on the larger end. And if I have something finished or am sharing then I resize the image to something "standard". But If you just want/need something to help feel comfortable or maybe worried about dimensions of the image, going with a paper sized canvas works. Print paper or sketchbook, I don't think it matters too much.
>>130622543Gotcha, I'll keep experimenting then.
>>130621299I really want to see this colored
Bump. These and OC threads don’t get the same love they used to
i wanna do something original
>>130625003Cute doll.
>>130625003Just draw something original then
>>130625003The Seuss style makes this extra sophisticated.
>>130625352ya know, that’s the third time I’ve been called Seuss-like, ironic to me as I haven’t actually read a single book by him>>130625044nice dubs
I can't into digital.
>>130626132Work and home life also stresses me out and kills my drive. I've been stuck sketching because it's easier to set up. I have a pad, laptop, and everything to start learning Blender, 3D sculpting, or even just good 'ol drawing, but stress kills motivation.I got a better paying job and finally got a room for myself, so I hope it turns around. Wish me luck bros...
these are so much fun
>>130626132ayy, always fun to see anatomy pieces like that, guns, bots, what have youcomplete pain in the ass to draw though, kudos for going through with it
how do I draw male/female torsos
>>130614316I'm trying to
>>130614316I drew this guy.

>>130614316i want to but i don't know what to draw
>>130614316just finished this. had to crank something out for amphibia before the finale airs. the fact that it's coincidentally airing on my birthday is a nice lil' present
>>130628817Thats rad, anon and done just in time too.
>>130628952Thanks! I've been procrastinating on it so much I'm surprised I even finished it at all t,bh
bump
>>130614316how good do i have to be to gain like millions of subs/tractions?like from picrel here, how do i actually grow to bigwig market???personally i think my anatomy and constrcution i at least, batman TAS quality... so i should at least get like as many sub as it, but somehow i dont.
>>130631511>ow good do i have to be to gain like>millions of subs/tractions?Quality is nowhere near as important as consistency.Apart from that either do at least some fanart of what's currently popular or nsfw stuff.
>>130631909i did do fan art but once i do original it doesnt get me the same traffic..but if i do fanart only i cant take commercial job or sell them...
>>130632146>i did do fan art but once i do original it doesnt get me the same traffic..>but if i do fanart only i cant take commercial job or sell them...Them's the breaks.Getting people to follow you out of the thousands upon thousands of people creating art online is tough, only a fraction will care about your original stuff and even less will ever feel like spending their hard earned money on it.Making money from art is tough and it takes a LOT of effort, which has to be put in in advance, over a long time to even get going.
>>130628794go to the drawthread and pick a request or draw your own waifu doing one of the requests
>>130628817good job anon
>>130632518It's plausible but you are not exactly making it any clearer. if it s too hazy it seems now more and then the business is made only by connections and luck... which then. why bother to even practice? all im saying is that it seems important to have a targetted marketting to gain the traffic but i dont know exactly what or how....
