New spinoff of How To Train Your Dragon with Jeremy Shada as the (yet unnamed) MC.>Set 1,300 years after the events of How to Train Your Dragon, dragons are now just a legend to the modern world. When a geological anomaly opens an immense, miles-deep fissure in the Earth’s surface, scientists from all over the world gather at a new research facility to study the mysterious phenomenon. Soon a group of misfit kids, brought to the site by their parents, uncover the truth about dragons and where they’ve been hiding -- a secret they must keep to themselves to protect what they’ve discovered.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HpuSv6dwwshttps://www.awn.com/news/dreamworks-animation-drops-dragons-nine-realms-teaser
>>126349899Is this Dreamworks trying to replicate Trollhunters now that it technically ended?
>>126349899>how to train your dragon but in the present dayYou are already losing me with that concept
>>126349934>that trollhunters endingHopefully this one ends well.
>>126349899Eh, honestly don't mind the premise. Only so much you could milk the original cast and setting. Plus it's got decent producers on board. Too bad it's not on Netflix like the other shows.
>>126349899Astrid’s 30xgreat grand daughter is getting OINKED.
>>126349899I wonder if that dragon is an eternal virgin or if it fucked its siblings
>>126349899>a blonde white male MCIs that even allowed anymore?!
>>126350384>Only so much you could milk the original cast and settingYeah, I agree, but they could have chosen any other era rather than the modern one
>>126349899isn't this reign of fire?
>>126350781Hope the guy fucks the dragon. Would be something.
>>126349899So what were the anglo Saxons or whatever the term for those people is doing irl in the 700s?Also now I cannot not see Snotlout as intentionally supposed to be a Welsh/Briton from those times. He even looks like Chris Broad
>>126349899Looks like the mc is the descendant of Hiccup. Also was I the only one disappointed with final villain of of How to Train your dragon ? It was a rehash of second movies villain. I legitimately wanted see the gang unironically go up against chinese dragon riders for the final movie.
>>126349899A Night/Day fury? An eclipse fury?
>>126349899Looks like complete garbage.>>126350853He has blue eyes too, he's fucking aryan!
You think they regret the ending of 3 and the failures of their other IPs, so they have to try and make HTTYD a regular series now?On that matter, how was Trolls 2 received?
>>126350853Hell definitely be gay
>>126349899This feels like when the 90's ended and execs would reboot a property for the 2000's to be futuristic, modern, and edgy. Loonatics and Batman Beyond comes to mind. I guess Dreamworks really don't want Toothless merch to go away.
>>126349899>Set 1,300 years after blah blah blahnoopnoooooooopeThe Viking setting is a HUGE part of the appeal. You could try setting it in another ancient land. But I don't want to see Dragons and Instagram memes in the same show.
>>126351356>Trolls 2Did incredibly well on VOD and about the same with critics
>>126350853That's the reason this isn't coming to Netflix.
NOPE to this. A nearly perfect trilogy, FUCKING ENDED. Just let a good story rest in peace, you fuckers.
>>126351498>The Viking setting is a HUGE part of the appeal. Not entirely sure this is true. I've never met anyone who said the main reason they liked the films or show was because of the Viking aesthetic. And judging by the tsunami of modern AU fanart and fanfic there is for HTTYD there's evidently an audience for such a thing. Also just judging from the teaser and the title it looks like they'll be culture-hopping/time travelling anyway. Chinese dragons are almost a certainty. I remain cautiously optimistic.
I'm fine with this as long as it's a modern elseworld and they don't try and say that shit took place on Earth.
>>126353077The interesting thing to do with it would be to explore the world of HTTYD aged up, with dragons becoming an integral part of society over time. Modern day dragon adventures could be fun if done well.
>>126352890>Not entirely sure this is true. I've never met anyone who said the main reason they liked the films or show was because of the Viking aestheticI’m one of the few people who got into HTTYD because of its viking aesthetics mixed in with some creative and distinct dragon designs tho. Honestly I do feel like moving away from the original setting defeats the overall point of the franchise that both the movies and the unrelated books relied on.
dont tell me the misfit kids are decendents of the main cast of character from the movies and at some point people will find Johan (the final boss of the second show) it will thaw and will become an antagonist in this show
>the disappearance of dragons is an obvious, kid-friendly Prospero metaphor for the disappearance of mysticism and the approach of the modern>I know, let's remake it set in the modern ageI don't think I can even be upset. Corporations going to corporate.
>>126350853It is if they make him homo
>>126350853100 percent guaranteed a Mexican or black will be ending his family's bloodline.
>>126350853he is going to be gay or job all the time to his female and multiracial „friends“
>>126349899Whatever happened to the other dragons-human societies that the show introduced?Did they all die?
>>126350384>>126350865or, you know, don't milk a franchise to death?
Sound horrendous. The charm was all in the fantasy viking stuff
>>126354885What's she on about? She's barely brown at all.If anything he's going to make the kids whiter. Also LMAO at a Mexican talking shit about colonizers.
>>126349899I'm hoping they treat it like Dragon Booster. Then again I might be the only one who watched that so my expectations of this being like that are low.
> a secret they must keep to themselves to protect what they’ve discovered.Great.Many years passed and still people are keeping dragons a secret!I guess Hiccup's plan were all for nothing!
>>126354885Where can I find "brown" women like this interested in a colonizer?
