What are you looking forward to after X of Swords ends?>pic related
>>119154047After X of Swords started getting all memey instead of fights to the death. I stopped caring.
>>119154154It's over next week.
>>119155001damn, had no clue honestly. Felt like this shit was just starting, this was terrible.
>>119154047SWORD looks like it will be fun. Hellions has taught me not to underestimate a cast of literal whos.
Getting back into X-Factor.Baldeon and Williams are really jiving together.
>>119155071The getting the swords stories were by far the best part of this event.
>>119154047real Cable to kill kid Cable
>>119154047Old Lady Laura should be fun. Presumably they survived by assimilating with the children.
I cannot believe what a disappointment X of Swords was. Probably the worst arc Hickman has wrote, inc. his Avengers run. Feel free to point to something worse he wrote.
>>119154047X-men haven't been good for ages, Hickman's bullshit sucks just as much as the previous garbage and the franchise in unsalvageable
>>119155736He barely wrote it.
>>119155563Real Cable saved kid Cable by dying for kid Cable.
>>119155793The problem wasn't the issue to issue writing, but the grand narrative.
>>119154047SWORD and the Hellions' next shenangians.
>>119154047That when Laura comes back she hasn't gotten too old... or that she hadn't aged at all
>>119155833Turning Sinister into a camp drama queen was actually based for his character. He's still obviously a viscous, dangerous being, but he's also fun.
>>119155182They should have kept Gomez drawing Polaris, it could have made her much more popular. Moving him to an America Chavez book is a mistake.
I just want Angel/Archangel to do something, he's the only 05 to not be in a book regularly this relaunch
>>119155833A mugga need to shank Sinister.
More cleavage, Betsy/Kwannon be Psylocke again I don't care about them split apart, fusiondance or some shit, just do it
>>119155856Yep, it was the right decision to go back to Gillen's characterization and turn up the notch to 11.
>>119154154I haven't seen a tournament arc so disappointing since Kengan Omega
>>119155856Disagree, he's basically a new character using the name and appearance of Mr Sinister. He's a comedy villain now, and eventually you'll get tired of the joke.
>>119155833>Turning Mr.Sinister into a weeping villainI like older X-Men back when sociopathic villains didn't give a shit, even about their own underlings. Hint: He didn't treat the Nasty Boys well at times
>>119156039Given that he murdered half of those characters himself, I don't think you're meant to be taking it that seriously anon.
>>119156002Any version of Mr. Sinister that isn't a psychic child using the identity as his villainous persona is a new character just using his name and appearance.
>>119156039He doesn't give a shit, he's hamming it up.
>>119155736His Avengers run was fucking great.
>>119155736It's been really fun
>>119156149Fun deaths for everyone.
>>119155736Swords seems to divide people. Some people love the silly twists, others are pissed at the lack of action, even though most of the X-Men don't even need swords.
>>119156116If you feel that strongly about it, Claremont, you should have made that origin canon before you left the book without having explained anything about him. The origin he ended up getting is unironically better anyway.
>>119156172Why are Marvel telekinesis users so shit? You would think that they would have a passive telekinetic field around them at all times providing them with protection. Manchester Black is like the only capeshit character that does this.
>>119155856He doesn't even act sinister anymore, became a joke more than a threat
Wolverine's suffering and losing streak just doesn't end.
The Vault/Supernovas stuff will be cool. X-Men should be bi-weekly. Looking forward to Sword too.
>>119156263Did you happen to read the last issue anon?
>>119156221>The origin he ended up getting is unironically better anywayIt’s literally just the High Evolutionary’s again.
>>119156305He's not wrong. Mr. Sinister is basically evil Deadpool personality wise these days.
>>119156305No I'm not reading Hellions, its a joke book I'm only reading Hickman's books and Wolverine.
>>119156328Did you happen to read the last issue anon?
>>119156336I did. I still think he is evil Deadpool personality-wise these days.
>>119156330Hellions might have the best and most consistent writing of all X-books right now.
>>119156155I agree, but there were some fucking awful parts in the main ongoing.
>>119156274Is Ilyana retarded or is this the consequence of spending her formative years in hell instead of school?
Literally the only worthwhile moment in this otherwise disappointing event.
>>119155833Who's the Iron Man looking dude?
>>119156172First Kwannon's dog is killed, then Sinister gave her a heart attack. Serves her right for stealing the Psylocke name.
I like how Hellions is the "Alex Summers continues to have an existential breakdown" book. For what's supposed to be a rehabilitation team, this doesn't seem to be helping him at all.
>>119156911>supposed to be a rehabilitation teamI mean, it's fairly obvious what they really are for Sinister. Don't know why they decided to trust this fucker.
>>119156790>>119156802I'm looking forward to the Nanny/Orphan-Maker issue.
>things not looking forward to
>>119155736Fuck you it has been fun. Not particularly great, but definitely not bad
>>119158052>Hurr durr funNo it was complete garbage.
>>119157994But Wolverine is good, and isn't the only X-book tying in a Marauders spin-off?
>>119158072Since when is fun a bad thing?
I wonder what it's like to penetrate War.
>>119158083I was talking about King In Black and its tie-ins.Wolverine's fine; I hope they bring Solem into it soon.I really don't like THIS, though.
>>119158181I don't think anyone is looking forward to the Phoenix shit fest. But for Cates' shit I'm pretty sure none of the books are tying-in except SWORD, because it's the job they promised to do, and Marauders getting a spin-off mini for the event.
>>119155071Maybe you just hate fun
>>119154047How does one find out what's next after Sword of X, etc is over?>>119156219>Swords seems to divide people.I hope that's a line from the comic book, because that's perfect.>>119156469Did he just call someone out for dressing like Jubilee?Things I'm looking forward to, knowing it won't happen-everybody stops stabbing each other and goes back to stealth mission adventures.-Storm's adventures in the landless world of Upper Jupiter. Fighting brood, rescuing Lilandra, enjoying training young female mutant (Not-Lightspeed Power) in the ways of the rainbow.-Jubilee leading a cult of mall rats in an abandoned mall. Rescued from poverty or not-Apex, finally living the life they wanted. Now how do you get Jubilee to stop stealing bitcoin from Friends of Humanity and go back to X-Men?-Magic gets a three ish of a John Wick style adventure across Limbo City with Ghost Rider to regain the Belasco Throne. Brutal fights, murder, mudwrestling semi-goat maidens, Sym and N'astrith being bastards, and a fistfight with a sentient bag of money.-Reopening the Westchester School after the latest "everything went wrong and we're back to square one", and how bad is it this time?-Morlocks invade Fortnight. Morlocks win.-Remy starts a cooking show called "Veiled taunts and gumbo." It runs for 12 episodes on Mojoverse.-Xavier's next super wheelchair.
>>119158684>How does one find out what's next after Sword of X, etc is over?Through the solicitations they release every month.
>>119159200Im just tired of all the isolationist militant bullshit and the gay cuck sex cult shit
Could somebody please summarize X of Swords for me because I have no fucking clue what's going on
>>119159883They're actually a bi cuck sex cult, anon.>>119160145Witch trolls muties into collecting swords for an underwater basket-weaving tourney.
>>119154154tournament arc with no tournament. so bad
>>119159200Then what are they doing next April, anon? Next September? Show me charts.
>>119160270...X of Swords is over with next week. They just came out with Feb's solicits: https://www.cbr.com/marvel-comics-solicitations-february-2021/
>>119158340I wonder if she still has a crush on Cyclops due to the Age of X event where they were lovers.

>>119160186>They're actually a bi cuck sex cult, anon. That's called being gay.
>>119160645Gay is a human word, anon. A dirty, human, flatscan word.
>>119160322>Joe Kelly on a Spidey bookWell that might be cool
>>119155833Where’s wild child?
If I don’t care all that much about the x books and have only read house of x Will I enjoy x of swords?
>>119160743Yeah it's a pretty good time
>>119160743Probably not, it's being cowritten with Howard so there's a lot of focus on the fantastical/excalibur side of X-Men as opposed to the science/society stuff HoX and Hickman's run have been about.
>>119160739Raped by mutant demons in Otherworld. Like he is literally being raped by them.
>>119160322Huh, already? I must have missed the big Nightcrawler showdown. There's a Nightcrawler showdown, right?
>>119155736>premise involves otherworld>be surprised when otherworld is wacky
>>119160899It's not WACKY it's stupid.
So are they going to bring by Tier or what?
SWORD, resolution for that Colossus X-Force cliffhanger, kitty getting back at Shaw and obviously the aftereffects of XoS like the Hellions dealing with Sinster being an asshole and Saturnine accepting Betsy as a legit Cap Britain
>>119160553No it's the right one. Maybe you are confusing it with Age of X-man, the alternate reality made by Nate where Jean and Bishop was fucking
Which of the current X books are worth reading?
>>119161154After X of Swords: Hellions, Wolverine, X-Force, X-Men.
>>119160859Nightcrawler isn't involved
Unpopular opinion: OCs are the best part of this event.
>>119154047The plan to rescue redroot from Jim Jaspers
>>119161780Redroot deserved WAY fucking better, I am so mad holy shit
>>119156281still sucks that it starts off as tie-in to the pubic shavings of Elric
>>119161629Some are pretty good. I like Solem and I hope White Sword stick around, though I don't care about any of A's family.I can't imagine Redroot will die, but she might be stuck with Jim until the next time he's touched upon...
>>119161788I think its building up to something. With redroot gone Cypher is the only one who can talk to Arakko and Krakoa, and with him being married to Bei, both mutant tribes have a claim to him.
>>119162043Redroot is a PRECIOUS FLOWER and needs to be CHERISHED AND PROTECTED

>>119161245>>119158083I started reading Wolverine with the crossover, should I read the other previous issues?
I just want the adult original five to hang out and talk to each other like friends who have been through almost sixty years of comics together and have a sit down with Xavier, acting normal for once
>>119162135She seemed nice!>>119162285Beast is way too deranged to have a normal conversation with anyone.
>>119162277yeah it's pretty good
>>119162285I now remember that Angel exists. Where's he?
>>119162285>Beast is basically a supervillain now>Iceman has had his brain ripped inside out by a rookie telepath who wanted a gay friend>Jean and Scott are in some weird co-dependency with a midget>who the fuck knows what Warren's deal is anymore
>>119162334Last played a big role in Empyre. He's an X-Corp money guy who runs the occasional mission. Nothing specific.
>>119162357Beast sucks since Aaron made him side with Wolverine and then Benis made him an ape because he didn’t like cat beast
>>119162381>EmpyreLmao who read that shit fest
>>119162334he was going to be in the X-Corp book with Monet then the rona got that dumpsteredso he instead he got to hang out with mutant zombies in Genosha during Empyre and got brainwashed by Hordeculture
>>119162434I thought that was fun.
Low key Ewing writing Sunspot again That Ayla gives New Mutants a direction and voice Hellions to continue to ruleGood new X-kids
>>119162616New Mutants by someone who isn't named Ed Brisson is something we can all look forward to
>>119162616I'm just happy they're puttying Gabby on there.Hope they make her do weird feral shit.
New X-Men arc when? I want to see something good finally happen for Hellion now that another one of his best friends is dead.
Maybe they'll give Colossus something to do besides farming.
>>119163380let the man be happy with his lavender girlfriend
>>119163398I'd settle for a story within that. Like, he'd just be doing stuff and telling the X Men to fuck off. Making cinnamon rolls? Nyet. Painting? Nyet. Hanging the laundry? Nyet.
>>119163485>>119163398GOT IT: Colossus helps Juggernaut rehabilitate with D-Cel and the other inner city kids.
I can't fathom why any Russian arrested under Beast's bullshit purge would want to stay in Krakoa. Then again, it's not like Eastern Europe is that great for mutants...
>>119154047all mutants dying again
>>119154047I'm looking forward to Franklin being mutant again. I also hope that they're not going to retcon Molly
>>119155736I liked it. It had some good fights, it had some twists
>>119160939No, you are stupid
Can Beast be redeemed or is he destined to be a villain once this is all over?
>>119154047Kill all muties
>>119163751God, fuck Beast forever. He needs to be crucified for this shit. Deactivate his X Gene and kick him off of Krakoa.
>>119163818Beast used to be my favorite. I want him to be my favorite still.
>>119163921He's always been at least great until somewhere along the line they decided that he had to be the biggest fuck-up with no repercussions and nobody to check his math. It's a genuine shame how they played him.
>>119163921He's still my favorite, Hank dindu nuhffin wong
>>119158369Kill yourself X-Men hasn't been "fun" in a decade.
>>119164131I don't think I have it in me to like any of the X-men these days. Except maybe. I dunno. Is Nightcrawler still cool?
>>119158052>>119158101>>119158369This shill is from the same bottom of the barrel PR agency DC hires for Snyder. >w-what a-about fun you don't like fun>but muh fun>but isn't it fun >you must hate fun>fun is fun and fun fun fun
>>119164146somebody get this hothead out of here!go be edgy somewhere else
>>119164229no anon, you have to be retarded to expect marvel doing a dbz-tier tournament. it would not only look bad, because western artists can't into dynamics, it would also be boring and disappointing. also, there were good fights, like wolverine vs summoner, and later horsemen, storm vs death, gorgon vs white knight, so you can fuck off
>>119156219>>119163720I genuinely don't think these are different people. They sound like robots repeating the same shit.>le fun >le wacky>le twistsA fight not being a fight isn't a fun and wacky twist it's a let down.
>>119164258>>119164277No, stream your suicide. Stop samefagging.
>>119164277I like DBZ style tournaments
The shills Hickman's agency employed will be the reason his sales tank into the 30Ks on this run. Be market researchers rather than shills. Just let them know we're souring on the lack of action in a flagship cape book. Telling us fun is fun doesn't help anyone.
>>119164277I don't even want a DBZ tournament but this shit they're doing now is fucking retarded fly by the seat of its pants garbage.
>>119164279>muh le fightsyou sound like a robot, go read something else. maybe power pack will be up to your speed
>>119164312then read manga instead
>>119164333Is it really? It feels like an Excalibur event, which is a nice change from the extinction and constant use of sentinels for a while. the wacky otherworld side of the x-men doesn't get enough love. Most people didn't even know who the fuck Saturnine is, so I'm not going to take the complaints seriously
>>119164324I buy two copies of every Hickman book just to spite fags like you
>>119164404>x-men main books shouldn't be action>event about swords shouldn't have action>you sound like a robot because you aren't robotically repeating fun like I was sent here to do>>119164417Why? It's just cheap knockoffs of what capeshit used to be.
>>119164324X-Men at their worst were still selling good enough to have numerous books. As a matter of fact, since Hickman took over, the x-books are selling like they used to be in the 90s, which is very high, and it's not going to slow down
This argument is childish.
>>1191644402 isn't 20k and unless you have two on a pull list this doesn't even matter.

Remember when the X-men was basically a super powered soap opera. About people who despite their strange gifts strived to live normal lives while fighting for the greater good and being shinning examples for their cause. Remember when their was still a glimmer of hope and some semblance of happiness and unity as they banded together, not as a paramilitary, but as a group of real friends and family, comrades who confided, consoled and leaned on each other to give them strength and happiness in their darkest hours.

>>119156002>He's a comedy villain now, and eventually you'll get tired of the joke. The self-serious Sinister was tired too, and only a handful of writers (Claremont, Milligan, Nicieza, Carey, maybe Tieri) ever wrote him well. This comedic Sinister seems to be easier to write, which is welcome considering the consistently inconsistent nature of cape writers. >he's basically a new character using the name and appearance of Mr Sinister. Yes and no. The elements present in Gillen's retooled Sinister were present already, but with Moore-like ambition, Gillen took them further and had them better reflect the philosophical underpinnings that Sinister contained, then used that to discuss the philosophies of the 19th century, which is of course discussing the 21st. Much of what Gillen's Sinister subscribed to is still part of the discourse: 'scientific' racism; the reductionism and determinism inherent in the economics of austerity; the reification of society by elite members and theorists alike in order to justify the concentration of advantage into the hands of the few; the rejection of the rights of the many in favor of the supposedly society-strengthening virtues of the elite. By placing Essex in a mock-Victorian setting while accentuating the horrors which his ideology inspires, Gillen succeeded in emphasizing how regressive and reactionary are the lords and masters of modern day, who justify so many of their decisions with reference to disturbingly similar Victorian values. What clearly made no sense at all in moral and logical and practical terms in the context of 1851 surely makes even less in the now of some nearly two centuries later. Devoid of that context, what's left is the Sinister we see now, though with the comedic elements turned up. It feels hollow because it is: only his surface characteristics have been carried forward. There's no thematic depth because the story doesn't call for it and/or because the current writers didn't pick up on it.

>>119163751I think he should be redeemed. Beast was a bit like Rousseau in that he had/reflected a mixture of Enlightenment and Romantic ideals. That is, while he relied on rationality, he did not neglect feelings and emotions. This was in clear contrast to Sinister, who represented pure rationality- and all the moral perils that purity brings. Beast has slid towards Sinister's end of the spectrum, which I don't object to. What I would object to is if they kept him there. We already have Sinister, there is no need for Beast to also occupy that ideological space and be another static character. Instead, he should be another example of Man's capacity to change for the better. The X-Men have a long history of redeeming their villains, and Beast-while not officially a villain-should be allowed to follow that redemptive arc. It shouldn't be quick, it should not be easy. Dude needs to take a good, hard look at himself and make the decision to be better and atone for what he's done. That makes for the more interesting story, I think.

Their home nations could jail them at any time too, but at least on Krakoa they're mostly free from material concerns. There's no wage slavery, healthcare is vastly better, there's constant orgies, alcohol flows freely, housing is not a commodity, immortality of a sort is available, etc.
I'm gonna miss the rock fucker. Dude is the only reason Krakoa has a chance of winning.
