I wonder if Lord Geslan's name might actually come from Lord Gessler, the bailiff and villain from "Willhelm Tell". Since OR gets a lot of its ideas from fairy tales and legends it wouldn't be far off. The German way of spelling the final -er usually sounds like -a.There might be a Japanese explanation but I am not good enough to come up with anything. Coincidentally (or not?) Gessler is often depicted with his hat on top of a pole, which looks eerily similar to the impaled flat Kage clan members Gessler carried with him in the flashbacks. Rambling again but I always wonder gods necessarily transform. And what the true form is. I assume the scary one is the real one, the one with the predator mouth. But if this is true it means the first, more human, form is artificial and most likely assumed to calm the humans down when they work together with them. This makes me wonder if a god could technically just walk around with his predatory form all time if he didn't care. Satun shows the beast mouth in his normal form, so maybe it's not like we hadn't seen his predatory form yet, it's the other way around and we only know his predatory form because he never changed into a more human form to begin with. Zaki and Chabi were both working with humans so it makes more sense for them to look approachable, Satun was living in the underworld together with Orcs, devils and other non-human creatures, so nobody would mind his natural, slightly scarier, look.

My first inclination is that the passive "relaxed" faces are the Gods' natural forms, and their sharp-toothed "predatory" faces come out automatically when they're physically or emotionally charged, but it's also possible that the shift is voluntary. Does anybody know or remember how Tooka has uploaded double chapters like 171 and 172?They are one long chapter (28p) in the archive. It doesn't really matter, but I am downloading and naming all pages, so I am not sure at which page the first chapter ended and the second began. In this case I would guess page 15, where Kage gets his idea. It looks like a good cliffhanger to end a chapter on. Maybe I will do the cut-off here.
