Every artist has a really unique take on older Daida. It's fun.
>>3706845
>>3706645Captain!
Dorshe doesn't get magicked out of his scars, so no one else should.
kek
>>3706873Never thought about this but it should be canon unless the writer forgot about it.Makes me wonder if Ouken will one day notice the scars on Despa and everybody else and whether they will tell him who did this or not.
>>3706888>that pic I want Ouken and Desha both to have to face the wounds they don't remember inflicting on people.
>>3706873I can't draw, but human-form Kage could have such a cool ragged scar from Ouken ripping through his stomach.
>>3706910There should also be unique-looking scar somewhere on Kage from Bebin puncturing through his body and then the cut he made himself to escape. That wound didn't even get magical treatment.
>>3706918It depends on how his body works. He might have a goo-ish body that closes certain wounds I honestly have no idea how his body works in general. I hope they will get back to the teleportation usage again. Miranjo can't be the only one that thought of this. If she was the one that made that portal.
>>3706919Desha's nipples drawn by Shijimi-san seem too erotic for a blue board imo, but there are no spoiler-buffers on /cm/.
>>3706921I think that because Kage is supposed to be pitch black, even if his body does scar you wouldn't be able to see it in his shadow form. I definitely do want the portal thing to come up again. I want to know where Kage's mouth leads to, and how the whole thing works. Is every Shadow Clan stomach a portal to a specific place in the world? Or is it like a personal pocket dimension, unless some black magician manipulates it into a portal?
I assume the latter. They have this extra dimension where they put all their items into like some RPG character's black hole backpack. If you are inside you aren't "behind" Kage anymore and technically not even inside of him, you are in a whole different isolated place and Kage has just to power to access said dimension with his body so I can imagine that you could hack in a way. Like somehow linking two shadow bodies at two different places with the same "pocket dimension". If that would work and you could get out if it on your own (which should be possible, see what Ouken did) you could enter the dimension through one body and leave it through the other.
>>3706929I am retarded and forgot to reply, >>3706924Not that it wasn't obvious on a slow board but still.
>>3706930>もう10分くらいやってるThe caption really makes the art sometimes.
>>3706922I really dig how Shijimi-san draws lewd Despa. Everything they do is great, but usually Despa doesn't get as much love as Ouken and Desha and if anything he is rather drawn as the joke character. >>3706997Imagine how much stuff they probably draw and never show. I am an artfag myself, artfags usually sketch all the time but rarely upload that stuff. Maybe they should do it more often.
>>3707004I don't think Despa is actually less popular than Desha or Ouken. He might even be more popular than Ouken; I see lots of Despafags, but I know everyone gets a different experience from black hole of tw*tter. Anyway, Shijimi does draw the sexiest Despa. I like that she keeps his shoulders and waist broad, in addition to how handsome she draws his face.
>>3707014Ouken seems to get way more fanart from my perspective but I see more people relating to Despa as a person. Not that it was anything bad but I feel that most of his fans like Ouken for fetish reasons and the general sexiness, whereas is Despa loved for his personality. Desha is kind of both. Personally I would even say that Despa has the most interesting mindset of these three, but it's maybe a bit unfair to say that since he had the most screen time so far and nobody knows what kind of development will start with Desha and Ouken with in their new roles. I just hope the manga will have some subplot for Despa as well.
>>3707021>I just hope the manga will have some subplot for Despa as well.Maybe Despa is in the Underworld right now finding out that he CAN take care of it. Maybe enough of the Order of the Underworld, like the Captain, has faith in him that they would enforce his rule, and Despa will discover that a person doesn't have to be physically strong to lead. Additionally, I think Despa might find that Ouken, who seems a sure fit for the perfect king, doesn't want to be one. I feel like the manga is heading toward telling us that the Ranking was created to free humans from the tyranny of selfish Gods, and subsequently any King that becomes as powerful as a God, but now people are just subjugated by Kings, and the very concept of Kings as defined by the Ranking. It should lead to the heroes breaking down the walls put up by the Ranking. /delusion
>>3707039>Maybe Despa is in the Underworld right now finding out that he CAN take care of it.Never thought about that before but the series seems to build up to some paradigm shift in that world with whole the old age of gods and strength vs some possible new age of humans and kindness. Not generally of course, the series is too realistic for that, but in principle at least. Might be that the first kingdom that accepts a physically weak but mentally strong and smart person, even if it's just transitory, could be one of the first signs for such developments. Despa isn't just smart he's also Desha's brother and the second born son. So since none of them has kids he is literally the second choice if Desha is gone. I assume there would be still some trouble but I can imagine some subarc in which he tries to keep things going while Desha is gone and maybe faces some problems but eventually realizes that it works out better than expected regardless.
>>3707039This Despa comic was funny, or at least the tidbits I could understand. My Japanese is still shitty but shit like OuRank fanart at least forces me to try to decipher it and learn a few words.
>>3707440
>>3706930Follow-up.
>「あにじゃ、あのね!」>自分だけテレパシーが使えないって拗ねてた末っ子に「これで遠くにいてもお話しできるでしょう?」って糸電話作ってあげた次男っていう背景があります
>>3707440>>3707442Well that's creepy and depressing but I also love it. Guess at least Despa is kind of okay. Physically at least.
>>3707982Despa also seems to be the most emotionally stable of the brothers, so he's definitely best off. I really wonder what he's been doing while his brothers have been gone for months.
I wonder if captain is closer to Despa or Ouken, friendshipwise I mean, not regarding the job and position.
>>3707997>Ouken as kingHoly shit why didn't I think of this
>>3708000Really, why didn't you? It even gets brought up in the manga.
>>3707999I feel like he's probably closer to Despa (at least these days, considering the unknown amount of time that Ouken was "gone") due to how familiar and casual they are. The fact that the Captain can internally groan and call Despa out when he's being ridiculous makes them feel friendly. It's easy to imagine that the Captain was something of a go-between for Despa and Desha, after Despa stepped down from his post and left the castle.
>>3708001I know but it's so absurd I never even imagined any scene with him. He has the cape and crown now too so he could actually wear it if he wanted.
>>3708002That makes sense. He gets very excited when Ouken is around but it seems more of a leader-subordinate thing whereas he is more casual with Despa. And he blushed when he was talking about helping Ouken to become a king and supporting him, so to me it looks like he doesn't just care about Despa finding some new goals but explicitly desires him to become more ambitious.
>>3708012
>>3708014
What's the source on Despa being 180cm? I've seen it repeated by multiple fans.
>>3708029Sounds too big for me to be honest. He seems to be normal-sized, like a generic guy. So I would say 170cm maybe even less depending on whether the average size is about the same as that of medieval people in the real world or not.AFAIK the mangaka keeps quiet about infos like sizes, hobbies (and everything else not shown in the story itself) and ages/time so personally I am inclined to say it's a headcanon. The time part is the one that I need. I wish I knew how long Ouken was insane, how old Bojji is and Satun was (unless the ages of gods are spoiler territory) and wish I knew the duration of some other time intervals.
>>3708029The animation setting book. On the Deputy Captain's page (pg.101), it's noted (possibly just an estimation for the animators to reference) that the Captain is 265, the Deputy Captain is 200, and Domas is 180. On the first pages of the Character section (pg.20-21), there's a character lineup that makes Despa look nearly as tall as Domas, although he looks a little too big there. Despa is certainly taller in the anime than he generally appears to be in the manga. Rough character heights based on this book:>Desha: ~275? (he refuses to stand up straight)>Captain: 265>Ouken: ~220>Apeas: ~220>Dorshe: 200>Deputy Captian: 200>Domas: 180>Bebin: ~175>Despa: ~175
Chapter 194 is up. Commence bi-weekly periods of suffering.
>>3708259>>Desha: ~275? (he refuses to stand up straight)>>Captain: 265>>Ouken: ~220>>Apeas: ~220>>Dorshe: 200God, what the fuck
>>3708259How can the Underworld afford to feed them?
>>3708510Maybe they can still feed Ouken with rats
>>3708259Maybe Despa really is supposed to be some kind of oxymoronic huge-manlet in the anime. His proportions are that of a short person, but he looks like someone took the PS transform tool and upscaled him. God Clan genetics could be fucking with him like Giant genetics seem to be fucking with Bojji, who got downscaled.
Drew a quick Desha
Finally someone has used the Jojo style on them I thought about this a lot
Not sure if cute male but he gets art now too
>>3708612Desha and two bonus boys. Very good n
>>3708612very high quality, please draw another
If anyone here is in Japan or has a Japanese VPN, apparently the webcomic chapters that are no longer available on MangaHack can be read on LINE Manga.
>>3708679Thanks. They are quite fun to draw because it isn't the generic anime style for once. But I am a lazy shit so I only finished an Ouken translation anon already posted and pic related so far. It's why I tried something quick yesterday. Anyway, the series is one of the few recent ones that are enjoyable enough to draw for desu, I love the designs. Even the ugly gods seem more interesting the longer I look at them.>>3708756Was the manga available all the time or is it a recent addition? It seemed like Japanese artists were ignoring the post-volume 13 content so far but I wonder if that might change now or if they don't use LINE or don't know that the series is available on there.
>>3708882>Was the manga available all the time or is it a recent addition?I don't know, but I get the feeling that most of them just don't know it's there. I've seen a lot of artists in the past talking about how they can't find the chapters at all.
>>3708882You drew that gorgeous Ouken? Blessed anon. Ouken and the Captain are wonderful too. I hope they get to work together happily someday soon.
>>3708903Yeah this is the impression I get. There are some that are drawing Mehi and such now but maybe they just looked at the Korean scans like the rest of us. Web publications surely have some advantages but the missing chapters are big downside, it's always best when the fandom is fed weekly or monthly. So far I have never seen anybody mentioning LINE so are probably right. >>3708918Thank you a lot anon. But Ouken just has a peak character design, he is perfect no matter how you draw him I think. Speaking of Captain though, he seems to get more love now after everybody has read vol. 13. Or maybe it's just my imagination, but I see a lot of Despa/Captain all of a sudden.
>>3708921Captain/Despa was fairly popular even while the anime was airing.
>猫ちゃんと警備員のおじさん感があるなって
If the people of Bosse Kingdom return to the story in the future, I hope Bebin and Kage have a moment.
>>3708259I really want to see Ouken standing up straight next to a normal man.
>>3709289I wondered too. Captain is too random and huge and when he was facing the big four he was crouching, running or simply not standing up straight. The anime would be a good way to find out if it ever got a s2. The scene with the Judge maybe. The Judge seems to be normal-sized, around 170cm-176cm so he would be a good comparison since Despa fluctuates too much.

>>3709845>>3709847Post the other two, please.

>HHS went ahead and uploaded their ESL version of chapter 161 ten days after TLanon and this is what people are reading on aggregate sitesWhy?
>>3710262>turning "allow me to guide you there" to "I understand"Wonder what's really written in the RAW but the HHS surely sounds like they cut off half of the sentences. And there is a huge difference between "Where is the treasury" vs "Guide me to the treasury". One is a question, the latter is an order which conveys Ouken's position and behavior towards his underlings as the commander he is. Plus "Where is the treasury? - Yes, I understand" makes no fucking sense. Wonder how they are translating this and why they won't just give up instead of poisoning the well. The Poise chapter was well translated at least. Might be coincidence, not sure.
>>3708475Damn, this grown-up Bojji looks really handsome, I wish more people would draw their own versions.
>>3710297The most basic, direct translation of the raw is >Ouken: Location of the treasury?>Runner: (hai!) [addressing his superior]>Runner: I know [the location of the Treasury].As the TLanon, I went with "Sir! Allow me to guide you there!" because it expresses that he does know the location and intends to share it with Ouken, who is demanding to know it. It matches the context of the following panel where runner is behind Ouken on his horse. The HHS translator took the runner's "wakarimasu" and translated it as "I understand" because they ignored or were 100% unaware of the context. The line means basically nothing without context, and as a result, they wrote a two-line conversation that makes no sense. You can't even tell that the men were speaking to each other.
>>3710315I've seen quite a few interpretations.
>>3710319>Runner: I know [the location of the Treasury].An alternative "direct" translation would be>Runner: I understand [what you're asking of me] [and I will respond accordingly]Translating JP "faithfully" into English isn't so simple. I'm an amateur, but I tried my best with my finalized TL to make everything flow naturally in English (I read all of my lines out loud in the character voices, like an autist) and supply the context of the lines to English-speakers without outright changing anything.>>3710315Another Bigji.
>>3710315
>>3710319Yeah I assume it was Hai and Wakarimasu in those bubbles, but official translations would have translated the Hai as Sir as well I think, they always do that in such situations. The way HHS translated this, especially without Ouken's order makes it feel very loose. Like random lines being thrown around without much of a connection.

>>3710844Koinobori (koi windsocks) are raised for the holiday to represent the celebrating families. There's usually one windsock raised per parent and child. The paper helmets in your pic are traditional from when Children's Day was Boy's Day; they're military helmets representing strength for the celebrating kids.
>>3710844The food that Hokuro is carrying is also traditional for the holiday: sweet chimaki and kashiwa mochi.
I knew there wouldn't be a new chapter today, but I feel a little deprived anyway.
>>3711197I WAS WRONG, THANK FUCK I WAS WRONG
>>3711211Whyyy anon? Why do you want to wait another week?
>>3711211>>3711276Nevermind I am retarded, I only saw the thread on /a/ and assume the PVs were news additional preview panels for this chapter, I didn't realize it was actually released AND I thought that your post was made by another anon I assumed responded to, ah let's ignore, too complicated to explain my retardation. But GOOD. I love over-protective angry Ouken art
>>3711997Same.
Glad others agree. I especially love his angry look with the beard hiding his mouth like in vol. 13
Imagine hovering over every kanji with rikaichamp to understand what fanart is saying, that's me.
>>3712022I know the feeling. I'm constantly looking up kanji as I aggressively TL every fanart and tweet.
Does this artist draw like three artworks per day?
>>3712331Some artists are so fast, I don't know how they do it. Even when I want to draw and have free time, I can't get anything done.
>>3712352Yeah same I am so fucking slow holy shit.
I didn't know there was a meido day.
