Nerds need love too.
>>3666898basically me for the past year except im uglier
>>3667392Uh... what are they doing?
Anyone else feel like this thread should be more popular?
Explain to me why girls like these types of boys?
>>3667549They dontThats the punchline
>>3666960i have no idea how the fuck you managed to make that pic so crusty so here's a better quality version
>>3667553h-hey, nerds aren’t a punchline ;w;
>>3667530Not really. Character trait threads don't usually blow up as much as franchise and character threads
>>3667603OK. I just love the cute wittle geeks.
>>3666992Same anon, same.
>>3667599Indeed, a punchline is funnyNerds are not
shinji a nerdnaruto a nerdamuro a nerdlot of protagonist of old thing a nerd
>>3667549Only fictional/2D guys
>>3667514For being too horny
>>3668155Who's that behind him?
>>3668841Oh yeah, that guy...
>>3667549girls don’t, but I sure do
>>3669461Is that Clark Kent?
what the fuck was that one show? The Ordinary Lives of Highschool Boys?I gotta find some pics of those boys, I remember they were pretty nerdy.
>>3670249YES! I tried looking for some stuff of them but it was mostly just the girls from the series... maybe im not that good at looking
>>3670253Maybe you should look up the names of specific characters you're looking for.
>>3670255ah here we go
Max was such an adorable nerd!
>>3667392This raises a question.Do you prefer nerds with or without glasses?
Do sweater vest boys count as nerds? Also, if anyone knows the source of this one, I'd be so grateful!
>>3670553That's like asking if I'd like vanilla or chocolateI'll take one of each, please
>>3670525This Max too
>>3670721>He still hasn't gotten a Pokemon>Reason given is that he's too young>Despite the fact that kids younger than him have been shown to have Pokemon
How many of the 17 posters her are actually girls?
>>3671258Then why do men like this stuff?I'm not complaining, i'm just curious.
>>3671331not him, but as a gay guy, nerds have all these negative stereotypes of being physically weak, socially awkward, and sometimes ugly. I'm vain enough to not have a lot of patience for the latter, and I think this thread being about anime boys as opposed to this being a thread on /hm/ about real, non-porn quality nerds with all their real flaws is worth noticingI'd only be able to point to this pic >>3670249 as depicting particularly "ugly" boys, and even then, the fact of their being anime characters precludes things like flawed skin, beady eyes, visibly poor hygiene, body hair, nipples and all kinds of potentially unattractive detailsand with all that said, the negative stereotypes of weakness, awkwardness, and even ugliness are also associated with things like a gentler demeanor, femininity in a male, a person being quieter and more thoughtful, maybe inclined towards mythology, philosophy, or a religious moral code. Surface level "nerdiness" may hide artistic talent. "Nerds" in STEM fields or in tech industries can make a lot of money. There's a lot to consider that can make irl nerds attractive. In the 80's in American culture, gays were also kind of lumped in with nerds in media under this big "oppressed minority" umbrella, contrasting them with heterosexual Caucasian athletes, like in this movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIZH5TKnEeg so there is a vague association between nerds and homosexuality in general. (this movie's ridiculous btw; one of the "nerd" characters swaps halloween costumes with one of the "jocks" and basically rapes his girlfriend, she's fine with it, and it's played off like a victory ... a nerdy revenge that could only happen in a movie plot divorced from reality).1/2
>>36713822/2Another thing to think about is that "nerds" as a category seem to have basically disappeared in current culture. "Zoomers" seem to have a blend of nerdy traits and socially well adjusted traits, and that seems to be a relatively good thing all things considered. "Nerd culture" was appropriated by major corporations sometime between the mid 00's and early 10's. There was sort of this dual pronged push with "nerd acceptance" crap like Big Bang Theory and Rick and Morty, plus taking things like Star Trek and rebooting them for the mainstream, and then feminism being intentionally injected into nerd hobbies as a way to break up the "boys club" of nerd culture (see stuff like the "Force is Female" marketing gimmick for the new Star Wars schlock).I'm a millennial and even while I was growing up, "nerds" didn't exist in the way they seemed to in the 80's. Bullying was never really a thing. There were still sort of social divisions between "people who played videogames" and "people who spent all their time playing sports", but I didn't experience any of the typical stuff you see in movies. So I guess all that is to say that maybe this thread has a touch of nostalgia for a cultural category of people that don't exactly exist anymore. And to conclude both my posts: all of the "negative" traits of "nerds" are also associated with some lovely things. I'd much rather date someone who's read the Illiad than someone who has not.
>>3671382>>3671389That's actually a pretty interesting view you got there and has really made me think more about the subject.I myself recently got into a discussion on /co/ about the nerd archetype and the conclusion i came to was kinda similar. Thanks for the interesting posts.
>>36718762nd pic is Adam from Nier Automata, first pic is 9S from the same wearing Adam's glasses
>>3671878>Look up Adam on the wiki>"Under one years old"Oh my.
So are we going to post cute boys or are we going to have a discussion about cute boys?
>>3671912I'm fine with both.
So should i start another nerd thread once this one archives or would it not be worth it?
>>3672028we're only 30 images in and you're asking this question?/cm/ is a slow board, this thread isn't going to archive any time soon
>>3672058Sorry.I just haven't been n /cm/ recently and the only threads i have been to so far are ones with already over 100 posts.I guess i'm more used to that /co/ and /v/ movement.
>>3667865He looks familiar.Who is he?
>>3672102no need to apologize fren, just pointing it out
>>3667549There are no girls here.
i am a girl (minecraft)
Iida is very underrated.
>>3667593not OP but it adds to the deranged aura that the image already has
>>3673366I'll be honest, i'm not into guys who're too muscular, especially when there're engines in their legs. No offence.
>>3675268>art's cute>concept's cute>can't find it in myself to enjoy the story knowing one of them is a ftm self-insert
Does anyone else find satou really cute or is it just a me thing lol>>3675290Why is that stopping you from liking it???
>>3675461not him but the ftm self insert probably
>>3675482Yeah I gussed but like why is that an issue lmao
>>3675268Aw, that's cute.>>3675290Wait, what?
>>3671382>>3671389Thanks for the read. I was born in '97, and after you pointed it out, I now notice that true 'nerds' in my youth were only 'nerds' because of attractive faces and good skin. The cute ones that were smart and into games and shit were very accepted.
Lets be real here. If we were girls would we actually go out with one of these boys?
>>3675701So basically in your school the ugly bullied to attractive?
>>3671382>>3671389>>3671473>>3675701So... anyone up for a nerdy boy thread on /hm/?
>>3675706My mom did, and frankly, I get it. I’d say “nerd” typically denotes intelligence and academic success though. Geeks, who define themselves or are defined by toy collecting hobbies or media consumption: they’re a different story.
>>3675714So your dad is a nerd?Honestly nice to hear Anon.
>>3675461satou's ok but yamazaki is best boy
Literally my perfect boy. What makes it even better is that I know two that fit this description and one of them is in the almost bf territory.
>>3677059Ah, so you're a femanon?Good to know some of us are finding love out there.
>>3677065What are you, retarded? There ain't no women on the internet.
>>3677059Be good to your friend and one day he will love you as much as you love him.
>>3677612Oh yeah. So that's her name.
>>3677612>Female virgins>On the internet
What are the best nerd romances and dynamics?
>>3677886the loveliest straightest nerd of em all i love him so much
>>3678289Shame about his love life.He needed more love.
>>3672103707 from Mystic Messenger
My Visual Novel husbando. I love Daru, despite the fact he is a pervert. But I love his pervertedness, so Itaru is wonderful to me.
>>3679349Woops, forgot to post image
>>3671206I hope none, women are smelly.
