The "It's been 10 years and it still hurts" thread.
Or longer if you read the novels...
Rat was a real piece of work leaving him as a single dad like that.
>>3664497Tried watching this show it's terrible
>>3666059It really is terrible, the white haired boy is cute but Rat is an abusive piece of shit, but magically has a change of heart at the end when the white haired boy dies and wills him back to life, it's retarded. Cute art though
These two looked like such D. Gray Man ripoffs that I never watched the series until recently. Now I realize how based it is and want a reboot or more material to come out for it.
i will bump
>>3666059Read the manga, its a different story and a lot better.
I watched this show when I was like 18. Made me figure out I like effeminate boys. 10/10, highly recommend it, though I don't remember much about the plot. Just remember rat is illogical and I liked seeing him dressed up as a girl.

Question: do Shion and Nezumi copy Allen and Kanda character-wise?
Apologies if this has been answered already, or it's a stupid question, or whatever. Does anyone know why, seemingly, none of the versions of the anime currently in circulation have the beautiful end cards the Japanese broadcast version had? They seem to be missing from the Japanese DVD releases and the version Crunchyroll got (and so, from there, the Horriblesubs release etc). I'd have thought I'd have hallucinated them if I didn't have a few random episodes done by other groups back in 2011 which used the broadcast version. I'm pretty unhappy they're missing, seeing as the one at the end of episode 11 actually changes the mood of the final scene a little (in a good way).
>>3737391No idea!
>>3666939Also two other guys from K but No.6 sticks with me the most
>>3709084So lovely
I can't believe they're getting Nendoroids after all thiese years
>>3666059yeah same, I finished it since it was short, I wish it was as good as the fan art for it :(
>>3737391What?? I had no idea this was a thing. Could you maybe describe the episode 11 end card?? If there's a tiny bit of hope that there's a good ending I'll fucking latch onto it. It's been 10 years and I still miss these guys so much. Please, anon. I'm begging.
I can't believe that this thread is a year old
>>3664497>It's been 10 years and it still hurts>>3664498>Or longer if you read the novels...This makes me feel old I still think of No. 6 as a new thing can't belive it's been so long.I have actually only read the novel and parts of the manga. Would people recommend the anime?
>>3763391In the book Rat promises he'll come back after he's done rebuilding the Forest People and seals it with a kissThe last episode in the anime did a really really bad job with the last few scenes...
>>3763391Alright I found it by hardcore searching, looks like it is pic relatedHere's all the ending cards https://restructuralcommittee.tumblr.com/post/107510811022/reunite-and-be-together-again-no-6-end-cards

>>3791308probably because of the 10th anniversary since the manga finished it's original run?
>>3782042>>3763391Very very late response, sorry, I apparently didn't check this thread for a long time. Anyway you've basically worked it out -- when this was actually airing on Japanese TV, they showed one of those lovely Toi8 drawings right at the end of each episode. The text was usually just "see you next episode" or something, but for the final episode it was "reunite, and be together again!" which added such a nice uplifting note to the final scene, combined with this absolutely beautiful picture. The DVD release had the illustrations, but in a booklet or something, and not actually attached to the episodes. Still some of my favourite 2D boys art, ever, ever. There's nice high-res scans on Zerochan and elsewhere. The [Ruri] release on Nyaa is the original broadcast version, with the end cards.I miss these boys so much ;_;
>>3791469>"reunite, and be together again!" which added such a nice uplifting note to the final scene:)>The [Ruri] release on Nyaa is the original broadcast version, with the end cards.watching this version may have prevented me from having to search for a few hours about the real ending because in the anime its like Rat leaves out of nowhere for no reason after all that and i was PISSED>I miss these boys so much ;_;so far its been the most touching romance i've seen in an anime, they have such great compatibility, and in a subdued way that is also powerful imo. I guess the author didnt give it a definitive ending because they wanted us to fill in the blanks, as for me I have no doubt that Rat will return and they'll be together, and that whatever we gained from this story will live on in our hearts
>>3802066so cute
O fair foundation laid whereon to buildTheir ruin! hence I will excite their mindsWith more desire to know, and to rejectEnvious commands, invented with designTo keep them low, whom knowledge might exaltEqual with Gods: aspiring to be such,They taste and die
>>3782037is that really why he leaves?? neither the anime or manga explain the reason so it just seems so random and done for dramatics. knowing this would have spared me a lot of annoyance lol
Shion is cute and deserves better than Nezumi, who I get is supposed to be tsundere, but it borders on abusive and completely irrational. I do like that neither of them die at the end though.
>>3821651Still better than Safu
>>3815256Yes that's the reason, I watched the anime and loved it until the last 10 mintues which made no sense to me and I spent a few hours tracking down that the source material and verifying the real story ending. The manga i assume is like the anime. The anime's ending basicly screwed up a whole bunch of stuff but Nezumi randomly leaving was by far the worst, so bad it seems it had to be intentional or something. How could they accidently leave out the hopeful ending and replace it with him just randomly turning around and leaving??? Pissed me off but I'm glad i found out what the real ending was. I relied on people's sumarized translations of the book which is only in Japanese, where they summarize the events chapter by chapter. In the book Nezumi promises to come back and kisses Shion, the author never verifies if he does come back or not so its up to the audience to wonder. Since Nezumi keeps his word it seems obvious to me he will.Even though its pretty short anime and not just about the romance I feel like its one of the best done romances so it sticks with me
