Post boys that were wasted on mediocre or forgotten shows, doomed never to get an S2.Starting with Adlet Mayer from Rokka no Yuusha, the strongest man in the world. Handsome, clever and charming. If only you were in a show people gave a shit about.
I actually kind of liked this show and wish it had gotten an S2. It went in a direction I wasn't expecting. The production quality was pretty bad though, and it probably was never meant to be more than an advertisement for the LN.
It also had this extremely slutty catboy.
I think Charlotte is kind of the dark horse of Key's anime projects, but I really liked this edgelord. The show was odd and slow in the beginning, but he made it worth it.
I honestly don't remember a thing about Classroom Crisis, but I do remember liking the male character's designs. MC is like an improved version of the Oni-san from Oreimo, and without the incest lust.
>>3604545Cute mechanic boy is cute.
Grimgar was kind of boring, although I did think it had a nice atmosphere. This it's skin-tight outfit and exposed shoulders were always a critical hit.
Wish Goldof was just an obliviously sexy autist and not an autistic simp
>the anime sets up the classic buddy cop premise in which the MCs learn to respect each other and work together>due to shitty pacing the show fucks up all character development, especially Haru's>he's pushed aside for another character to take his place as the MC for several episodes>he's relegated to a literal errand boy for that new MC and Kambe>his past trauma nd emotional hang ups are handwaved away only to be quickly brought up again right at the end for some forced dramaBeing Haru is sufferng. Didn't even watch the 2 episodes, I just couldn't give a shit about the payoffs anymore since the show didn't bother with the build up for the whole cour. Kambe remained an insufferable autistic faggot who would still let Haru fall from a bridge, and if they tried to tack on an ending where he and Haru came to understand and respect each as is the custom in these type of stories, I feel angry and insulted. I don't know if it was because of the coof that halted the production, or the fact that they tried to shill Kambe and his celebrity singer seiyuu, who might have been the reason Kambe remained deadpan wooden plank because that's all he could manage. Either way the wrighting took nosedive after episode 1.
>>3604539These two from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. Pretty much any guy from female focus anime/manga/games/series because nobody cares about them.
This is a depressing topic, there are many such casesMy pick is the main boy from Binan S3, which I think literally nobody but me watched. Very handsome (and fun to see a relatively masculine take on the weird white hair boy design type) and he had this charming laid-back hippeish approach to all the dumb situations the boys got into. Posting screenshot because there's literally no fanart>>3604545Classroom Crisis! I watched this when it was airing and then forgot about it immediately. Agreed the two guys were great (both very handsome and brown hair reminded me a lot of Hiroshi from Barakamon, who I love) and they made a nice relaxed guy/uptight guy combination. Plus you got to see black hair in the shower that one time.Remember how OreImo actually had a fujo following for a while? There was some great fanart of the main guy alone and with the brown hair friend dude>>3604731Mochizou from Tamako Market was also adorable and used poorly
>>3604728He does look pretty cute. Kind of makes me want to watch his show. I'll heed your warning, though.>>3604731These two are fully just a gay couple, right? They parallel the lesbian MCs. I didn't love Dragon Maid, but I think I'll have to watch S2 just to see if they get any more development. Apparently I don't have any pictures of them, so take the trappy shota instead.
>>3604746>Remember how OreImo actually had a fujo following for a while?Oh yeah, I remember. I still have my folder to prove that it happened. There was a fair amount of art of him with a genderbent version of his sister as well. I guess it stands to reason that character designers that are great at drawing cute girls can also draw cute boys.
>>3604746Mochizou a cute! Goddamn Kyoani and their ability to create ridiculously cute boys and bury them in their cute girl shoes like it's nothing.
Speaking of forgotten Kyoani boys.
>>3604857This guy was great, his plausibly-deniable flirting disguised as bullying was written well, probably the only thing in that show that wasOne of the only boys I've ever buyfagged for, I bought the stupid beach fanservice clearfile so I could scan it (picrel)
>>3605078Thank you anon. You've done a service for us all.Another one for the records: Joey from Heroman! I dropped this one halfway through because it was pretty awful, but the trap MC was a qt.
>>3605308Thank you!And yeah he was adorable/ Poor kid suffered from both a terrible anime and making his debut in the same season as Hideyoshi from Bakatest, who caught all the trap enjoyer attention despite being much uglier
Gotta appreciate him for dealing and living with a bratty shitty sister
Nobunaga Oda (Young) from Kochoki: Wakaki Nobunaga
Mitsuki. He's basically Kaworu and Killua mixed into one. What's not to love? But I just could not bring myself to care for the Boruto anime nor the manga. I watched about 35 or so episodes before finally dropping it.
>>3606055Ngl I'd reconsider. It's quite good. At 204th episode. Mitsuki has his own arc and shit.
>>3606038Now that's a cute boy.
>>3604799>>3605399Brothers being mistreated by shitty sisters deserve respect and appreciation.
Main boy from the completely forgotten Sankarea was cute, vaguely brown and cat ears hairTerrible show of course
>>3604539Kinda wasted but more obscure. How can a mascot of very well-known BL visual novels get so little to no recognition? I think Naitou-kun is very cool and handsome. Wish there's more to him compared to another mascot that has plethoras of figures, lewd stuff and an anime adaptation which is Super Sonico.
Gargantia sure was an anime that existed. Ledo was pretty cute.
>>3607271Wait, is this a mascot character for Nitro+Chiral? I had no idea there was such a thing.
>>3610628Yep. Was surprised when first finding him out too. Wish they do something sexy with him.
I hate his pedo manga that is nothing but an endless exploitation of loli torture, but damn his design and voice is great. Wish he was a character of a different series.
>>3610619Yeah literally the only thing I know about this show is that screenshot you postedTakuto from Star Driver was very attractive, on the subject of forgotten early 2010s original-IP mech shows, high-energy Mamoru Miyano midriff guy
>>3607271He gets overshadowed by actual characters from those games, so what do you expect.
>>3610650True. It looks like Aoba is more of Nitro+Chiral's mascot than Naitou-kun.
>>3610646Bondrewd?"Wasted"?Are you fucking retarded?
>>3610652For me it's a waste because he is the only good thing about lolicrap of the series where he is doomed to be temporary side villain
Rui and Yuuya from recreators but mainly Rui. I would have watched his mecha anime.
>>3610647Somebody else remembers Star Driver? Color me surprised.
Speaking of mediocre mecha anime trying to chase that prestigious Code Geass clout, who remembers this clusterfuck? Eru-Erufu, Audrey, space vampires, I am the cream to your coffee etc etc.
Dimension W guy. I could have really simped for this dude but the show was unwatchable.
Mogeko's character designs are pretty solid and neat. Haven't checked out their other games but The Gray Garden wasn't that great and the whole thing feels like a generic 2007 comedy anime with unfunny jokes and out of place gore. Most of the characters are pretty annoying and bland too. Though these two, Kcalb and Emalf have really stick out the most for me.
>>3610806It has a little niche somewhere in my memory, I didn't actually like it very much but it makes me think of late 2010 and leaving my hometown for college and blah blah blahAnd the OP brought extremely strong sack
>>3610812Eh, this one got a lot more fanart/doujin in it's prime compared to other mentions in this thread and still had folks celebrating L-Elf's birthday this year.
>>3610619he looked good in a tank top
He was only in 5 episodes but I miss him so much. Sucks that Stars Align got gutted by higher ups; we'll never know exactly what the fuck his mom was doing to him.
>>3604731>Pretty much any guy from female focus anime/manga/games/series because nobody cares about them. This, truly a terrible fate.
Blend-S was such flavor of the month shit, but he deserved better than to be over-shadowed by the trap as best boy.
>>3604542Is this a morrowind referece?>>3604547Wasn't there a second season?
>>3613764Wow I totally forgot these two existed in this memed anime and also yes being overshadowed by that generic trap
Good show, fun characters, but he is horribly under-used.
mikleo from tales of zestiria
>>3617466Yeah I was rooting for this guy and his very pure homo crush on the main boyThis show in general was remarkably good-natured in how it handled the male/male aspects: it mined them for humour, like everything else, but it didn't treat the idea of guys being attracted to each other as inherently funny, which I appreciated
>>3605425GLENN FUCKING RADARS
>Wasted Potential: The AnimeEverybody pack up, >>3617527 won the thread.
Adam from Record of Ragnarock. He's absolutely divine and perfect. Sad how it ended for him in his fight.
>>3617467This guy is still #1 in japan's tales of popularity polls so nah
Great design wasted on a one and done NPC.
Every single character from Brave 10. Not just the dudes, it was the first show (granted, I was 18 at the time and had barely watched anything other than mainstream tv) with an expansive cast that I was bummed to see forgotten.Kamanosuke might've been the origin of what awakened my bisexuality, but in recent years pic related is what I would gravitate towards.
Senpai from Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro. He looks cute but will never watch his anime because it looks like one of those seasonal ecchishit/moeshit anime with repulsive female characters and otakus won't shut up about.
>>3617514I really wanted to like this show
>>3622063I've never seen the anime, but the manga is really fun. It has an ecchi sense of humor, but the way it handles Senpai and Nagatoro's dynamic is cute. Both are very likable if you give it a few chapters.
>>3622116Would be more interesting if Nagatoro was a dude
>>3606055I dropped the anime around the 70 mark somehow, been caught up on the manga for the sake of it.Kawaki is also genuinely a great fucking character too.>>3606056Someone told me to watch episode 192 and thats genuinely a great episode.I'm not sure if I'll ever care enough about Boruto to go through the anime and cover some of its ground
>>3606055That's a shame. I enjoy the Boruto manga a lot, but I can't blame people for disliking it when Perriot started the anime before Boruto had a chance to get it's first few arcs done. (and, ya know, if the Boruto manga didn't hook you that's fine too)Despite this, I really liked Shizuma Hoshigaki from the anime. Such a nice design and a personality I want to see fleshed out.
>>3604539Firo Prochainezo from Baccano!
>>3604539Also Luck Gandor from Baccano!
>>3604539For me, it’s Toto.>>3617514This so much. Sad how Twelve betrayed his lifelong friend like that.
>>3617514The first episodes of this one led me to believe it'd develop in much more of a homo direction than it actually didI'd have forgiven it if what we did get was actually good but, wellAlso I don't think a high-res version of that really cute casual-clothes official art ever appeared ;_;
His show is great, but he suffers the harem protagonist curse of being ignored by fans. Almost all of his fan-art is genderswapped. Tragic.
I’ll never forgive this series for killing the hot psycho redhead way too soon.
>>3629136Honestly yeah, it's a shame there hasn't been any more Hazbin updates, I find Helluva Boss a whole lot less compelling.
>>3629136>>3629144>says this shit unironically
>>3629435Yeah?You could call that whole show wasted potential. It's a legit good premise, a lot of the general character ideas are interesting-including Alastor, a early 1900s radio demon, at least to me that's a pretty cool concept.Sure it looks like late-2000s deviantart, and yeah it's inevitably going to go to shit at some point, assuming it isn't dropped. But this isn't a thread for good characters or shows, it's a thread for wasted ones. For the record the pilot is a solid 6/10, really poorly structured, especially in the second half. Also was trying to introduce way too many characters, but again, basic concept is interesting enough that I want to see where it goes.Anyway, I'm going to add any character who is killed of early in an elmination style death-game. Leon is the one I'm most upset about, but there are many others who never get the time to shine.
>no one posted these two yet
One of the most enjoyable and entertaining characters in that ecchi coomer anime
>>3610812Still have ops on my fav songs list.
>>3610656nayrt but no matter how you feel about the rest of the show, "popular focal character of a huge theatrical release for a bestselling series" is hard to call underused, wasted or forgotten. maybe you just took the thread prompt as "character you like from a series you didn't" Also, I gotta say MiA is faaar more shotabait than lolibait
>>3629451That's because I never forgot.
Kamijou from Madoka Magica. I always thought he looked cute. But he only existed to develop one of the main characters, only for him to be hated by fans because he doesn't get with that character
>>3604539Pic related is the only reason I got through SEED Destiny.
I loved Setsu from Mashiro no Oto. Too bad the rest of the anime bored me to tears
>>3604543is that fucking dr robotnik in the back
