>>3501933Did Shinji get rejected after that like in the 1st draft?
>Shinji: Kaworu looks like he's about to cry.>Shinji: If you keep all your painful feelings to yourself, you'll eventually be crushed by them.>Shinji: It's fine to just let it out. Everything.
>>3501964Lol, Shinji's in no position to be giving advice to anyone
>>3501972tbf this is NGE2. The same Shinji who finds a way to save Kaworu instead of killing him
I thought this Shinworu was really cutehttps://twitter.com/s_oulq/status/1321406184071426050?s=20
Only one pin? Oh, okay...
why is he so cute
>>3502110because they drew him that way
cute sad pilot
Looks pretty cool here
Hope you guys like the new Yoneyama stuff because we are probably going to see it a lot.
>>3502411>>3502412I like the way she draws Kaworu, but why does she always draw Shinji with that dumb fisheyed look?
>>3502411 >>3502412Just saw the full ver. To me, this one is her worst radioeva illustration.
>>3502411This Shinji looks way too Chad
>>3502510Damn this artist is always so fast
>>3502510>>3502553I like their art style.
>>3502553Like last weekend when she uploaded something like 5 new art in one day. Kakure is a treasure.
>>3502445Nonsense. Shinji always looks cool and chadlike.
...I don't get it.
>>3502592I'll guess. Shogi is a much more computationally complex game than chess. So, generally it's much harder to determine whether a player can force a win in shogi than in chess.
>>3502592Losing a single piece can make or break a game in chess at the highest level, whereas in Shogi there's always a chance to turn a game around.
>>3502510what are they saying?
>>3502510>>3502635>Alright you two, just pose naturally!>Look, Kaworu-kun, that pose may be natural *for you*, but can you try to not hold Shinji-kun's hand? Otherwise Shinji-kun won't be able pose naturally..
>>3502677Thank you, anon.
>>3502611>>3502620Alright that makes sense. But then isn't the 'you will lose in 31 moves" also a very chess-like thing to say?
>>3502721It signifies just how high Fuyutsuki's skill level is compared to Shinji, basically Gendo and co. are on such a completely different level Shinji can't possibly hope to fight back. But that's the exact kind of impression Gendo wants to give off, the truth is hope still lives on for Shinji and just like shogi it's never too late to turn things around.
Ogata tweet saying happy birthday to Akira Ishida:>Happy birthday to my dear friend who I love and respect! You're a kind-hearted, yet mischievous and mysterious man. I hope you continue to bewitch me forevermore.>…尊敬、敬愛する仲間。お誕生日おめでとう! 心優しいお茶目で孤高の人。これからもずっと魅せて。>I've known him the longest playing the role of Kaworu-kun, but my fondest memories of Ishida-kun were when we worked on P3 (Persona 3) together. As a fan, my favorite role of his is Cho Hakkai from Saiyuki. I am always in admiration of his immense skill and talent as a professional. I'd like to perform on "Love Letters" together with him once again.>付き合いとしてはカヲルくんが長いけど(笑)、P3の石田くんが1番心に刻まれてる。視聴者としてなら八雲が好き。巧さに、プロ意識に唸る。…でも。「ラヴ・レターズ」。もう一度だけ演りたかったな。一緒に。https://twitter.com/Megumi_Ogata/status/1323018836098994177 (embed)

>>3503883>Shinji: Ah, Kaworu-kun...um, do you have any plans after this?>Kaworu: Not really.>Shinji: I see...>Kaworu: What's wrong? Do you have something you need to ask me?>Shinji: ...I was just thinking about how I don't know very much about you, Kaworu-kun>Shinji: I'd like to be better friends with you and get to know you better, Kaworu-kun...>Kaworu: Thanks, I'm glad you feel that way>Kaworu: But you know, Shinji-kun...>Kaworu: Getting to know someone better doesn't always mean you'll be better friends or equals.>Shinji: Huh...?>Kaworu: At least in our case, >Kaworu: What's most important is whether we have fun spending time together or not.>Shinji: Is that so...>Kaworu: I have fun when I'm with you. What about you?>Shinji: Me too, I have fun when I'm with you Kaworu-kun...>Kaworu: Then, there's no issue here, right?>Shinji: Yeah, you're right!
>>3503894Thanks anon!>or equalsThis line probably came out sounding worse than what the intention was.
>>3503870Is this Kaworu's phone
What does it say? Apparently, this is Kaworu's character description at Evangelion Kyoto Base.
>>3504218>Nagisa Kaworu (Character Voiced by: Akira Ishida)>A mysterious boy that woke up on the moon and had a conversation with the secret organization SEELE>He's known Shinji from a long time ago, but the specifics are unknown.>In the TV edition, his moving encounter and farewell with Shinji had a great impact on him.
>>3504219I have a question. I've heard some people say 反響を呼ぶ usually refers to the reaction an audience or group of people has to something rather than an individual. In that case, would "his moving encounter and farewell with Shinji was met with a big reaction" make sense too?
>>3504263Yeah, actually after looking into the phrase more closely I would translate it as >In the TV edition, his moving encounter and farewell with Shinji had a great impact on viewersIt's so vague that it's easy to miss at first, but the subject here is audience members not Shinji or Kaworu. Sorry about the initial mistake!
>>3504289Don't worry about it, anon. Thank you for always taking the time to translate things for us.
>>3504289It's a bit weird that they'd mention the tv edition and its impact on the audience in a character blurb for Kaworu's rebuild character.
>>3504304If anything I feel like it's just a hint he's still the same character from the series, there'd be no need to remind people of his TV self otherwise. And we also don't know what the others' blurbs say either.
>>3504304I feel like I'd need more context to say for sure, the other character blurbs might talk about their appearances in the Anime too
>>3503447i keep seeing images with these outfits, why?
>>3504406NewType Magazine once commissioned a eva halloween illustration in 2008 (pic related) from a ex Khara animator.
>>3504406>he doesn't know about the halloween episode
>>3504415I once dreamed that I was re-watching EVA and discovered there were like 200 episodes of filler that I had completely forgotten about.
>>3502677I love it
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1r-OBJf1zKlHEMCH2sMWoy8atuSSDpCptI think we've seen all of these before but it's nice to reread it in one sitting. Kaworu giving really, really, REALLY bad advice never gets old.Though been a while since I've read it, but wasn't>Or maybe you were both just spreading rumors about me?more like "oh so you two were gossiping about me hmm?"But I think my favorite thing about Eva BF right now is how in the Season 4 "Shinji stays at Wille" alternative universe the OC lady seemingly takes it on herself to try and substitute for Kaworu. That's nice. I like to think that was what Kaworu actually thanked her for.
>>3504636Kaworu tends to give really awful advice in Eva BF for some reason.
>>3504640>for some reasonit's the gacha writing
>>3504640>for some reasonMight have something to do with his newfound Ignorance is Strength stance.
>>3504640This is the same spinoff that implies Toji is dead despite leaks confirming he's alive. I wouldn't take anything that happens in it seriously.
>>3504666that image, my sides
>>3504714BF's "story" is going places. Looks like it's setting up some kind of huge mindfuck now. Mass memory alteration, reality warping, I don't even know.
>>3504831BF is set in a simulation, that's why everything is like that. They confirmed that when they revealed the map names in Season 3.
>>3504836One buggy simulation at that too if there's accidental memory carry-over between cases.
Brainlet ask but is there any website that has every single piece of official art that features Kaworu and Shinji together? A booru or something?
>>3505287Translation? This is so cute
These were interesting, though I wish Gendo and Fuyutsuki had more than just guest appearances in their cross-episodes. The gacha writers are likely just making guesses, but to me Kaworu's lines in the Fuyutsuki cross-episode strongly hint against time travel shenanigans.
>>3505377>strongly hint against time travel shenanigansThat's not the impression I got.
>>3505376>Translation?Lolnope, no way.Kaworu is making a pun "treat ourselves to a date"/"dress for a date" BUT he also makes a second pun (I guess to show that he is not entirely serious) and wittily changes 洒落込もう to 酒落込もう (swaps the first kanji out for "alcohol"). Shinji has no fucking clue what Kaworu is talking about and googles the full phrase.
>>3505393Well he researches evolution and extinction, how history is written by those who survive, and seems to be negative about being stuck in the past. To me this all sounds like a massive>let go of the past and live for the present and future.Which was more or less what he encouraged in the movie too.
>>3505398How does any of that go against the timeloop shenanigans? Kaworu was always encouraging Shinji to change and face reality even in NGE.
>>3505400Time travel, not timeloop. No going back to stop Third Impact from happening shit.
>>3505402Huh? Time travel would be going back to the NGE cycle and changing shit, whereas a timeloop is repeating everything from the beginning with changes.
>>3505398Different anon. All true, but he also encouraged the notion of doing things over if you aren’t satisfied with the end result in the piano scene.>>3505402I’m not quite following. What’s the difference here? As far as I know timelooping is a type of time travel
>>3505429>Time travel would be going back to the NGE cycle and changing shitThat's not time travel, NGE is not Rebuild's past. Time travel would be returning to a previous point in your own timeline. You can’t go back to the old state after reset and overwrite.>>3505432>What’s the difference here?A loop would reset and restart everything, it’s a “run this level again and again until you know it by memory and ace it”. All You Need Is Kill for example, changes in a loop happen when someone remembers and trial and errors their way through the event. But Kaworu is looking forward and not backward. It’s not about finding a crucial mistake in the past and rewriting the timeline by correcting it, but accepting the present as is and moving forward with the future. What I’m trying to get at is that as far as Shin’s story is concerned, the gacha writers are guessing that Kaworu might have the accumulated memory of many previous cycles, but we won’t have something banal like Shinji using knowledge of the future to tamper with the past.
>>3505731Do they even do gay marriage in Japan?
>>3505736Nope, but Kaworu's nationality is unknown so depending on what it is it could still work. Well but if he doesn't have documents he can't legally get married, gay or not.
