trying to find the name of this artist, they were incredibly popular back in 2008 and made a ton of fan-art featuring matt, mello and near. reverse image search comes up empty..does anybody here recognize the artist?

Something I now cannot explain. I have a bunch of pictures which I'd confidently attribute to the same artist as the series of pictures above, but they have this distinctive darkish yellowish colour temperature, and all the pictures I have in this style have 4chan filenames. I vaguely recall these pictures being hosted on their own blog, but that would mean this artist was maintaining two blogs simultaneously, with the only distinction between them being the colouring style. This does not quite feel correct. Can anybody remember what was going on here?

I used to lurk those sites before knowing about pixiv, and this artist's works were pretty popular among reposters, but unfortunately i don't remember the name of the sites that hosted these old blogs in order to -at least- try to dig stuff up on wayback machine or something, and modern image searchers are totally useless when it comes to these. I found pic related in a flickr profile from some random reposter so, yeah.

My old bookmarks don't go back this far so I have nothing I can plug into archive.org, and trying to manually go through "The Matt x Mello Webring" or whatever to try to confirm a blog no longer exists would be enormously masochistic. And that presumes the webrings themselves still exist, which they probably don't.

They most likely know that their art doesn't really disappear. Artists going MIA either grew out of it or just ditched the alias and are doing something different elsewhere, professional level or not. It's hard to imagine a fanartist doing stuff for the same fandom for such a long ass time, they have to get bored at some point eventually.
