Most restaurants would go out of business because the majority of people are addicted to the SODA not the FOOD (not that they will ever admit it probably subconscious, coke has lots of studies on this).Also the sauces on most menu items would disappear, meaning those items would also be gone since the fall flat without the sauce.

But people need to have skin in the game. And sin taxes are a simple way to achieve that.
